New Star in Fife

This place surprisingly doesn't accept card payments for takeaways. Not good news in times of covid.

Our usual Chinese was closed so tried here, absolutely fantastic! Friendly and fast service, lovely food!

We usually frequent The Mystic but being a Tuesday it was closed so the New Star was our chosen carry-out venue. We both had curries - yes I know it's a Chinese restaurant, but we wanted a simple flavoured meal, not a full of spices Indian one. However neither of us liked what we were given, the curry having an odd taste. I'll go again and try a different dish.

Never had a bad meal from this takeaway and been using it for years, would definitely recommend it. They offer a delivery service but at busy times you can wait quite a while for it but it's worth the wait in my opinion.

Popped in here one night after a few jars after the Sunday sesh chat turned into a conversation about the salt and pepper chips. I just had to try them out! Ordered myself a portion of these delightful chips which by the way were delightful along with a portion of chicken satay stir fry and fried rice. Not a place I have been before but will be visiting more often! Excellent dishes at a reasonable price. Would recommend this place for a wee tasty takeaway after a few jars! Friendly staff and top food! Especially them chips!! What more do you need!

The restaurant looks like a typical Chinese takeaway, and that is its main trade, but there are tables too to sit down for table service. I was really surprising at what a fantastic Chinese meal we had, Lemon Chicken for me and vegetarian Bean curd for my daughter. There wasn't tea on the menu, but they bought us a large pot of chinese jasmine tea with leaves and flowers inside rather than the teabags you get elsewhere. I really can't recommend this place enough, don't be put off by its look, good value food, fresh and great service.
