keep getting orders with missing noodles rice chips and todays just the same. The last time we will use you shocking service

worse take out experience ever took well over 1 hour food cold and inedible. Utter gash worse take out exprerience. Don't bother just throw your money in the bin

Evening visit with my son on a Tuesday night when other eateries closed. Quick service, decent value, good food at reasonable price. No complaints.

Had the meal deal for 2 £23 there was enough food for 4 people it was very tasty and would recommend

First let me say New Shanghai is probably one of the best Chinese take away in the area We have had many meals over many years from New Shanghai always excellent but on this occasion it was not quite up to the usual standard the meals were still enjoyed as nothing too serious was wrong. I always get stir fried roast duck with satay sauce I’m addicted to it so much so I tracked down the Jimmy’s satay sauce that they use so I could make it myself, it normally consists of duck, onions, peppers, pineapple and chilli peppers and a few carrots but on this occasion there was no chilli peppers but large lumps of garlic instead plus loads of carrots I still enjoyed it but it was not the usual standard. We also ordered sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style with no pineapple but it had loads of pineapple in it the chicken was larger in size than normal and the batter was quite hard plus it also had lots of carrots they must have been on special offer this week. On a better note my son was staying with us and ordered stir fried char siu with kung po sauce and he said this is the best Chinese he had ever had. None of this would prevent me ordering again there was nothing really wrong just not the normal excellent standard.

I’ve not used this takeaway for maybe a year, I was short of time and couldn’t get to my usual in Saltburn so called and ordered for a collection. The food was ready on time but I had to wait about 10 minutes to get it as the girl on the counter was taking phone calls from new orders, maybe have two counter staff on duty for busy times? Friday night especially. When I got the food, crispy shredded beef in chilli sauce with chips, home and open I was very disappointed. The main dish was full of cheap vegetables with a much smaller offering of crispy beef than I have had before from here or other local takeaways.The ‘crispy’ beef wasn’t very crispy either, soggy and the beef was very chewy. I think they are filling the dishes with cheaper ingredients, I would be back anytime soon.

From where I live I have the choice of several Chinese Take away's. The New Shanghai which is situated in Marske High Street is one of my favourites. They specialise in Peking, Cantonese, Szechwan and Malaysian Cuisine. The food is always first class. The premises are very clean and the staff very polite. They operate a delivery service, which with me living so close I have never used, (a small charge is made for this service) however, I do use the New Shanghai App which I find very useful. Make an order, select a time for collection and collect. Highly recommended.

Waited 2 hours for food. When we contacted them, they didn't know where the food was and didn't have a number for the delivery driver. What a ridiculous system. Food fine when it came but was past feeling hungry.

AVOID New Shanghai in Marske. Ordered a chinese 2hrs ago, came late not our order & ended up checking every order the poor delivery driver had !! Not our order. Rang the shop to be greeted by an abusive, rude and aggressive manager. He refused to cook our order as he was too "stressed". 4 phone calls later because he kept putting the phone down, he was blaming the delivery driver who was so canny and wasn't his fault at all. Avoid this shop after phones calls to just eat a complaint is going in & a refund of £19 is being sorted. I can't believe this is a business. I really hope the poor delivery driver doesn't get the chew for this

The crispy duck was hard and my daughter refused to eat it. I ordered duck and pineapple and it was 5 small pieces of duck, and hand full of soggy duck skin and a tub full of sweet and sour pineapple. even when i removed the duck from the tub it didn't look any less full. Really really awful and a waste of money.

Order was delivered on time. Food was hot & tasted great. Would highly recommend.

Second time we’ve ordered - food been lovely both times however this thing food was 25 mins late, was warm but not hot and in total took 90 mins to arr Be from ordering.

Terrible! Curry was watery and tasted rank! Spring role was a verry cheep n nasty frozen one fryed to bits! And the beef was like chewing a bouncy ball. What was ment to cure my hangover made it worse. Devod!

Ordered food at 7.15... Rang them at 9 and was told food was out for delivery. 9.35 and food still hasn't turned up

I ordered at 7 o clock and the food arrived at 9 o clock! the food was cold and instead of giving me chicken balls which I ordered, they decided to give me prawn balls which I am allergic to. definitely not going again

Restaurant added 15 minutes do delivery time, definitely wasn't to cook the food fresh... Prawn crackers were soft, Singapore chow mein wasn't spicy and glad i ordered curry sauce to put some flavour on it! Salt and Pepper wings were plain as well.

Good portions, arrived quickly, just not too keen on the amount of mushrooms in the duck curry.

Gravy tasted awful and was watery. Curry tasted powdery. Egg fried rich tasteless. Chips I couldn't even eat.

First time trying New Shanghai. Delivery was fast and actually 15 minutes earlier than expected, however the food wasn't great and don't think I will be using them again.

It arrived after one and a half hours. The rice was cold upon arrival and so were the chips.

the meals were not up to their usual standard.there was a distinct lack of ginger in the beef,. ginger and & spring onion.This is the 2nd time this has occurred. The king prawn and chicken with Thai sauce was like watered down sweet and sour with no heat whatsoever .I have ordered this from here many times before, but have never tasted this sauce before

Had to wait and hour and a half for delivery (half an hour later than stated on order) but the food when delivered was really nice.

Food was nice and hot over all we've given the meal 8/10 if it was delivered on time it would have been 9/10

Excellent tasty food, the Kung Po was great, and the fried rice was just how I like it. Delivered on time and the food was nice and hot.

I was offered 25% discount by Just Eat, but did not get it. I don't know if this is a Just Eat or a Resturaunt problem, but it has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Partner and I ordered the chicken sweet and sour balls and veggies with black bean sauce and green pepper (with noodles) Food was really superb. Tried a fair few Chinese places in the area and the was the best by far, will definitely use again. Food was really early, though we didn't mind because we were home, I'd stick a note on in future if we wanted it for a specific time.

2nd time they have forgot the chips.

Have been ordering from here for a long time and always been happy with the service and food. But tonight It was late, I got given completely the wrong order, but by the time I sat down to eat it I was so hungry I couldn't wait to have the order mix up sorted. The quality of what I received was no where near what I was used to. I then saw the place is under new management... I hope this was a one off.. 😭😭😭

Phoned to give my honest appion on the food that I ordered tonight and I got nowhere with my complaint,I viewed my point across it was horrible and got very nasty feed back from the member of staff in charge and told me to try before I buy even though I ordered a takeaway meal and live miles away the muppet😣

Everything was nice, only problem chips were ordered with one of the meals, and received rice with them all.

I would not even leave them a star they do not deserve one, food arrived 50 min's late so 1 hrs 50 after we ordered it and cold. Don't use this place no apology and lied when we phoned them kept saying it was on its way.

When we initially ordered wait time was 20 mins which once accepted changed to 40 mins. Might have reconsidered if we had known at the beginning.

delivery was slightly late, the chips were very dry, and char sui fried rice was tasteless had to cover it soya sauce to be able to eat it... was not hot and most of it went in the bin....will not be ordering from here again...for the second time they wont be a third

Food great but delivered very late told because it's Friday very busy. If that's the case quote a later delivery so the customer knows this.

If I could give a worse rating than 1 star I would. Hour and a half wait and the delivery driver rang me saying he couldn't find my address.. this is at 8.15 and 8.45 after giving two sets of instructions to the driver over the phone there was still no food. Rang the shop to ask for a refund and got told it wasn't possible as my food was out for delivery. No apology or anything. Terrible service.

I have ordered from here multiple times. The food is nice but everytime I have left a note saying "no onions please" for example, the note is always ignored. This has happened too many times now so won't be ordering from there again.

The best Chinese by far sweet and sour Hong Kong style with fried ride chips and prawn crackers went down a treat! Amazing high quality food and service I would highly recommend this as the best Chinese in the Redcar and Cleveland area!! .

Nice food One item missing but considering the size of the order not a disaster!

We ordered the food fir 1900. The delivery time was confirmed for 19 .15. No problem. The food arrived at 17 .45. When I said it wasn't due till 19 15 the delivery person said it was early. Was far too early That's why I only gave 3 stars as I had to reheat it.

Took ages and the curries were cold

Ordered king prawn and chicken curry and received chicken and mushroom curry, wouldn't of been so bad but it was also cold!

If you are ordering from Brotton, be aware for an extra £1.50 charge!!! So £3 all together. Feel sorry for the delivery guy, having to ask for more money at the door. Owner of the take away very rude when rang up to try get our head around the more money aspect when we had already paid a delivery charge - tip for the take away, DO NOT accept the just eat order if customers haven't put the extra delivery charge on themselves as they are obviously unaware like we were. Call the customers to explain there will be a extra charge instead of the poor delivery guy having to ask for more cash!!! Very unprofessional and food was very average. Won't be going back, as the owner asked us not to.

Ordered a few times but can be dodgy with delivery charge, asking for extra at door when already paid via just eat.....

Eventually got my order 2 hours after I initially placed it, 45 minutes after it said it would be delivered! No answer from restaurant when I tried to call. Food was alright, but not good enough for me to go back here.

Beautiful food, but ALWAYS late. Get a delivery time and stick and extra hour on it! Don't agree with the delivery fee if they're continuously late.
