normally bang on with service mustve just been one of them nights. wish the app would keep you informed better rather then saying you foods been delivered!!

The food would have been really nice if it weren't for the banana fritter syrup spilling all over the rest of the food (and the kitchen). The bits that weren't weirdly sweet were very tasty. It took an hour and a half to arrive (sat teatime). Despite the issues, I will give them another try sometime!

Didn't taste great, usually we have an alright meal there but this time I was really disappointed and barely picked at it

I’m not one for writing many reviews but this defo gets a 5* from me, someone recommended Red Cap a while ago, and glad I ordered from them. I have to really be in the mood for Chinese food and today I did. My new fav Chinese to use, delish!

Tried this Chinese restaurant as we were bored of our usual Chinese takeaway so wanted to see if these were any better. Went in with the notion of ordering a chow mein, chips and prawn toast but my wife saw another customer order a mixed box of goods. We tried this and were pleasantly surprised. The box came with chips, chicken balls, chicken wings, crispy chicken, pork ribs and spring rolls. Must say it was tasty and good value. Only criticism would be they packed the box with a lot of chips when I would have preferred more chicken. Other than that really good food.

Lamb curry.... Hmmm, some processed meat in the same curry sauce I can buy at B&M, so no matter the meat (loose term) it tastes the same. 3/10 Egg fried rice.... The worst I have ever had by a country mile - thought it was brown rice to look at. For me, I just don't understand how a Chinese restaurant in England gets this wrong. 4/10 Salt & Chilli dry ribs... Obviously bought in by wholesaler, but was the best part of the order. 6/10

Been ordering form here for many years, and everything has always been absolutely top notch. Crispy smoking chicken is just beautiful and the curry is nice and thick only criticism is that the curry would be even better if they added a little more veggies but that’s just a personal preference, the portion size is also great and prices are reasonable, Receptionist is an absolute delight to talk to.

Absolutely awful food here. Ordered a chow mein and it was disgusting, soggy noodles and tasted very burnt, not nice at all. Couple months later we thought we would try it again and again the chow mein was absolutely disgusting, tasted very burnt and could not eat it. Had to chuck the whole lot and make rice quickly. Also the other food we ordered was very over cooked, greasy and tough. We rang and complained about the chow mein as we couldn’t eat it and had to throw it away. They said they would give us a refund for this. But have never seen a refund for it. Rang a few times regarding this as first they said they would drop the money off and then next time said they would transfer back to me, when questioning this as how would they know my details. They then said again they would drop it off. Haven’t seen anything. Would not order from here or recommended. awful food.

Awful food, complained the 2nd time we went, noodles tasted burnt and starters over cooked, was told we would get a refund but weeks later we have had nothing. 1st he was dropping money off, then he said it needed to go through the bank, rang again as no refund, then was told once again he would drop the money off but nothing and finally told he had been to the bank and it was going through but weeks later still nothing. Awful service. Even though we didnt eat the food as it was that bad its the fact that hes lied about giving the refund

F*cking shocking 2 1/2 to deliver food within 5miles. Phoned restaurant guy on phone no help and used a poor excuse (we've been busy) wouldn't wait that long in a Michelin star resturant for food. So let's talk food... £30 order of dragon balls mixed vegetable chow mein, cashew nut rice and prawn toast... all barely warm, dragon balls very dry and tasteless. Prawn toast was OK. Would I order again , absolutely not, would i recommend absolutely not.

Guys I’m sorry but what’s going on? Used to be my go to Chinese and not a single item of what I ordered tasted ok. Chowmein tasted burnt and bitter, the chips and chicken seemed as if they were cooked twice. So disappointing

Thai green curry was lovely but the prawn balls were over cooked and quite hard wouldnt order those again but enjoyed everything else good service polite staff

Very nice and hot. Bit disappointed with chicken satay, it’s been better from here before.

We normally order from here, One of the best ones in Stapleford. The salt and pepper chicken (Our normal order), was inedible. every bit tasted fishy and nothing like we are normal. Salt and pepper chips was the same however the taste was not as potent as the chicken.

Unfortunately the meat was very dry resulting in it being tough.

Everything was tasty and it was very very hot. Impressed.

One dish had incorrect sauce but was delicious anyway and a credit received. Will definitely order again

mistake made on the order when phoned was met with maybe the worst experience i've ever had with a restaurant. was my first and last time using this place. do your self a favour and call any other Chinese takeaway on here.

Had a salt and chilli box but there was far to much salt on the food that you couldn't taste anything but the salt. Most food was very over cooked that it was not edible. Will not be ordering from here again.

The food is stunning. I cannot fault the food at all. Unfortunately the restaurant were once again swamped and unable to fulfill the order in the timeframe they gave on the site. So unless we are collecting from them in future, we won’t be ordering again. I did call and was told that it would be ten minutes, 30 minutes later I was told that the driver had only just left.

Went Boxing Day because everywhere else was shut, beef chow mein overcooked/slimy, not much meat, no egg in egg fried rice. Won’t be going back

Was very disappointed with how late the food was and then once finally received food was cold and not of good standard. I am very disappointed at the amount of money was spent for food quality and timing to be so bad. I expect to be refunded

The food was piping hot… fresh the vegetables were wonderfully fresh and good quality. Good portion sizes.

Food had obviously been reheated, the noodles were stuck together, curry very stodgy.. "cold" drink was warm... oh and over 2 hrs to deliver it, 5 minutes away. Apart from that, perfect.

Chips were awful tasted like they'd been sat hours on end and then warmed in microwave 🤢 chicken balls were over done, again gone stale and very chewy neither of these were edible. Crispy beef cold 🤢

We usually enjoy food from here. Tonight it was terrible. Very very disappointed. Chicken balls had been cooked twice AT LEAST. couldn’t cut through them. Satay had no spice and tasteless. Chow mien smelt and tasted strange. Had to spit it out. YUK!!! Maybe a new chef on tonight. Still wasted £30.

Not happy at all ordered food latest was going to be was 8.05 contacted them to say was late to be told my dinner was still being cooked in the kitchen and been very busy and that was not there fault . My oder is now coming after 9pm with just a sorry . Never again will you get my custom

Asked for no vegetables or bean sprouts in the chow mein, totally ignored so couldn’t eat it.

Message received saying on the way, called after 45 minutes told it had just left. Was told that they don't know how to use the just eat machine. This is the same excuse my daughter had last week when hers was delayed by an hour. Will not be using again.

usually go to bo bo chinese ,but driver on hols so decided to try new red cap and so glad we did food was delicious and red hot ,will definitely be coming back .

Food was cold. Rice was disgusting the rest wasn't nice, but not as bad as the rice. Gave the restaurant a chance to see if they've improved in a few months. Nope worse if anything.

Salt prawns are lovely. Beef in black bean sauce is flavoursome and tender.

Food was hot, arrived earlier than expected and came with complimentary prawn crackers. However, spring rolls were so overcooked that were almost black and the chips were so poor quality I barely ate any. Again, overcooked and barely any potato in them. Whole, large bag was the same that 90% were wasted. Rest of the food was good though.

Food was not warm and did not seem as nice today.

There was little prawn in the king prawn balls. Spare ribs were dry not succulent. Very disappointed

Fantastic food! Absolutely delicious. Even my SO was impressed.

Beef curry was missing things and the sauce I think I could of laid bricks it was that thick. Vegetable spring rolls was burnt. Chips felt looked and tasted like they’d been cooked 5 times. Just overall not nice at all and I won’t be ordering from here again as the food went in the bin.

Food quality was pretty decent but the delivery time was pretty bad, it was over an hour late and it's pretty annoying seeing that the order is marked as delivered on Just eat. I get the impression that this is just done to meet SLA requirements for stats so the stats don't mean anything if your lying about delivery times.

Large portions, lovely battered chicken balls n sweet n sour sauce with chips

Ordered my food early as we had planned to go out, was late, so called restaurant and was told 20 mins, was late again, food arrived not in the normal tubs but the foam trays for 2 of the items, had leaked all in the bag, I asked for some money back due to the lateness and heard nothing back from the restaurant, food was very salty and the chips were hard on the outside and cold, never again, to pay £37 on food for it to be late twice, and then leaking and unedible is unacceptable

If you have some money to spare and can't be bothered to bend down and put in the drain. Get a Chinese meal from new red cap, it's so much easier and more fun to put straight in wheelie bin. Absolutely horrendous would advice to stay away.

Absolutely ridiculous the waiting time and even though we called and was told it would be 20 minutes it was a further 30 minutes before it arrived and to cap it off the food was cold. Will I order again sorry no.

Chinese's can be quite personal to rate but all I can say is I've never had a bad meal yet, staff and delivery driver's are lovely and friendly.

Food quality was great and delivery service was prompt, will return next week.

Excellent food always hot and tasty

I order from here alot, and in this instance I could get through on the phone. The delivery was over an hour late and the driver didn't even apologize.

The best tofu dish that I have had from a local takeaway. The crispy seaweed was delicious too. Very happy, will order from here again!

Good was cold and didn’t taste nice , curry was thick

Everything was great, got a free coke and prawn crackers, but the salt and pepper tofu was devastatingly salty, my tongue feels like I’ve licked a desert.
