New Manor Fish Bar in Broxtowe

Disappointed with service and potion for price Ordered a kebab, had to repeat 4 times what my order was prior to serving then when presented with food there was very little in the kebab for £7.90, very very expensive for a tiny portion

Always great food, and very reasonable price when compared to other takeaways.

We used to be almost weekly regulars at this shop and loved the food. However the past couple of months the quality of the food has gone downhill especially the chips. We have noticed it’s someone different on the chips and since this they have not been nice. The chips are always undercooked, soggy and some are hard still. We have continued to have to order from here in the hope it would improve back to its previous standards but unfortunately this has not happened and we will now be going elsewhere. Really sad and I hope the owners see this and can get the standards back to how they used to be.

Ordered pie and chips and have to say chips were very very greasy and not enjoyable. Shame really as it used to be such a good chip shop.

Decided to treat my husband and daughter to a kebab so called in about 7pm last night friday 20th June only 1 person in so not busy. I ordered 2 chicken tikka and donar mix on pitta and 1 plane donar on a pitta. When I got home to Long Eaton and opened the food 2 kebabs were donar meat only and no chicken tikka! I don't understand how this was wrong as the lady behind the counter wrote the order down! Very disappointed as the food is always lovely and id like to get what ive paid for at a cost of £26 buying food out is very expensive for 3 kebabs. won't be going back for a while. 😞

Appalling experience this evening. Rang a telephone order through, partner went to collect, was told that the order waiting on the counter wasn't ours, so queued for 10 minutes and was eventually told the order was ours (now lukewarm at best). Add to that we had asked for the peas to be put in pots which was done on one meal but not the other, resulting in a soggy haddock, pea, chip and paper slop. The meals and service were disgusting, £20 approximately and most went in the bin. Shout out to the poor young lady assistant who couldn't apologise enough and was left to take the flack. Like to support local businesses but will stick to George's from now on.

Its a fish n chip shop... With extras kebabs. Burgers ect... Chips are good fish standard note 40% off on tue n wed on fish n chips .

Always good food. Fish and chips, peas, curry sauce, battered sausage, all spot on. Love this place.

Food is much less greasy than a lot of other Fish & Chip takeaways I've tried. Other than that the food is about the same as you'd get anywhere else!

Always friendly polite service with a warm smile. That's before I mention the food which is of the highest quality. Most chip shops ironically have terrible chips. Not at Manor. The chips are A+, 10/10, clean, crisp and not greasy. I highly recommend halloumi. The salad is always fresh and crisp. The fish is fresh, clean and succulent. Well done, and keep up the good work.

Ordered two kebab meat and chips on delivery with Uber eats. I asked for the mint yogurt to be in a pot as my daughter can’t eat mint yogurt. I even wrote a message in the special instructions. Food arrived and mint yogurt was all over the kebab meat as well as in a pot! If I stated mint yogurt in a pot then that’s how it should have come!! Rang up and the guy said I would need to order it again through Uber eats then get a refund, why am I going to do that and also pay another delivery charge. I already paid £22 for the food. This is absolutely disgusting!!

No point ordering online ,they don't make your order until you arrive and stand there 10 minutes. Take my tip Georges Tradition in Long Eaton or Ilkeston worth the extra effort

Tried this place for the first time, super fresh and tasty food. My fish and chips were the best I've had in a while and my friend loved her doner kebab meal. The staff were friendly and I loved their sustainable packaging! Will definitely visit again

Visiting the area on a Saturday evening, decided we wanted some chips. Walked half a mile to hopefully catch it open before the 9pm closure, just to find it closed at 20.:40. Wasted trip and not impressed.

Foods nice here but I'm fed up with the attitude of the older woman that serves in there. Multiple times now she's just been pure rude. Won't be going here again as I'm guessing she's the owner or something as she's always there. Bad attitude loses customers.

Good standard of food the young girl which severed me was training and was very good and the other staff was very patient with her which I thought was lovely as it was getting busy.

Cod and chips ordered. Fish was lovely and the batter light and crisp. Chips were proper chippy chips and the whole order was lovely

First visit to New Manor Fish Bar. Ordered haddock & chips which were nice but loved the look of the chicken kebab so I ordered a portion of that too. Friendly service, very nice food so I will return. Shout out to the lovely lady who offered me a sample of the meat before buying.

Haven't been for quite a while, but we were not disappointed. Everything freshly cooked and piping hot.

Visit New Manor once a month for fat Fridays at work, i order large doner meat, chips and salad (mint yogurt) my colleague's order a large chips, x2 curry sauce x2 battered sausage. Get there for about 12pm, so the lady that serves me is always polite and helpful comes to about £13.80 which is really good considering prices have sky rocketed recently. Portion sizes are good chips are always okay, doner meat isn't the greatest but on a fat Friday at work not gonna complain would visit out of work hours so recommend if in the area.

Pie and chips were OK but not the best. Chips were a bit large and floppy, but maybe was because not peak busy time and fresh.

Had food from here a few times now and it’s always been good.

Pros - the kebabs are really nice and you get plenty Cons- make sure you don't order a side of chips to go with it because for some reason you won't get them you ring up manor bar about it and they direct you too uber eats for some reason even though manor provide the chips .

Ordered from here last night via UberEats. Great fresh and piping hot food, good portion sizes too. Will definitely be returning. Who knew deep fried oreos could be so good!!

I orders two salad Kabab have in mind that kabab means meet, I got my order and opened it and it was a salad.... Just a salad, I went back in there and asked for kabab meet in it and they did my order and they said it costs £6 more so I asked if they could throw one away because I couldn't pay for it so they did and it was only 1.50 more so it was actually supposed to be £3 more and they tried to scam me

Shared a kebab meat and chips meal with my wife from here on Friday night (9/7/21)... although the food was hot and ok , I found that nearly £6 for the meager portion we had was a bit steep . I don't know who the lady was that served me , I assume the boss , from her demeanor , but in light of the recent pandemic it wouldn't hurt to smile and not be so abrupt.

Just eaten our takeaway. We were missing a portion of chips. Hubby's kebab was over cooked, The chicken Nuggets seemed like they'd been cooked and reheated, pizza Base was like pitta bread. Also took nearly 2 hours to arrive. Over all we were not impressed 😒

This is a great chippy. It has a an excellent hygiene rating. The staff are very friendly as well and treat you like their own family. Please try the donor wrap and their burgers. Salad is always fresh, top class chippy please support your local Stabbo businesses.

Tonight was our second lockdown delivered takeaway from the chippy. 10 out of 10. The best takeaway in the area. Delivered exactly on time piping hot and delicious.Definitely the best value for money chippy too. We will definitely be ordering again.

Go here quite often sometimes has its bad days but this particular experience was fantastic my partner is quite fussy and gave them a lot of notes on the online order and everything was cooked to perfection just how we like it and was ready as we got there brilliant service excellent taste

My favourite chip shop in Stapleford. I used to run a chip shop for 10 years, so I think I know a good one when I do! No polystyrene or plastic bags a round your chips. Wrapped properly in paper, plastic makes them soggy. Highly recommended.

Love this chippy just dont to go by it enough but when i do if it open always call in nice chips done in dripping and you tell chips are lovely. So is fish can only say about Cod as its all i eat do love a nice bit of Cod. Like to call in at opening time if i can

I’m a regular to New Manor Fish Bar and have been coming here for the last 5 years. Friendly staff and owner. Offering usual f&c favourites but also do mixed kebabs on pitta and naan. my favourite is the mixed kebab (chicken tikka and doner) on naan. They also do another type of chicken kebab as well. Prices are about right compared to other f&c shops.

Good food, and prompt service. Burgers are made fresh to order.

I go to this fish bar regularly. Quite average quality but better than most in the area. However, i went today and had the driest piece of fish and what can only be described as yesterday's chips heated up. Are they trying to drive custom away? This is the 2nd time ive paid the full rate for second-rate food here. I should not have accepted the dried offering at the time but you cant tell until you get them home. I wont be going back there. Sorry.

F****g awful chips. Went on Saturday at 12:30pm. They were dark and possibly reheated from night before. I'm glad I only had a cones worth with my battered sausage. I threw all the chips away. The sausage wasn't great either, but edible. The only redeeming factor was the pleasant young girl that served me with manners and a smile. Unfortunately I care more about the food, and unfortunately it was not up to scratch. I won't be returning.
