New kam san in Scarborough

Food was really good. Won Ton seemed a little light on filling but the Chicken Foo Yung, rice and chicken satay were really good, no complaints at all

Some poor reviews but we thought food was very good. Tasty, decent portion size and warm. Would recommend and will visit again when back in town.

Brilliant customer counter services by the Young English guy. 5 stars from me.

When visiting Cayton Bay, we always get a Chinese from here which has usually been very good. Got one this week and it was very disappointing. Pancake rolls smelt and tasted funny, so threw them away. Main meals were very bland and tasteless, so ended up throwing most of this away too. We will not be using again.

Terrible service waited over an hour rang and just got laughing about not delivering. Terrible attitude don’t order anything from here. I can’t believe that are still operating.

Very disappointed - would not recommend - there are many better options in Filey - the food was tasteless and watery - chow mein consisted of noodles only which were overcooked.

Food was just awful i won’t go into detail but easily the worse Chinese we have ever eaten, beware cash only we had to run to the speed bank in the pouring rain..

Appalling service. Waited for an hour after placing order, just to be told they hadn't even bothered to start cooking it! Terrible attitude! We stopped using them last year because it was so bad, but though we'd give it another try. Never again!!

Absolutely horrendous. Normally use huanby but used this as a treat for my sons birthday. Spent a fortune and left highly disappointed. Definitely use China China Hunmanby instead.

Got a lightly battery mixed meat 5 small pieces the rest was all onions and carrots which was not cooked sick of it all are giving less and you're paying more used to be good

The container seem to be full of onions, salt and pepper chips didn't have the seasoning on, fast service but can't recommend the food, small portions.

Had a delivery to a Filey campsite last night. Chicken with green pepper and black bean sauce and a chicken curry. Both with egg fried rice. Arrived promptly and hot. Both delicious and a reasonable price. Would definately use again. Thank you very much.

We ordered last night whilst staying at primrose valley caravan park. Im very fussy when it comes to Chinese food and where I go but I thought and i would give it a try and I can not fault it. It was all really tasty,hot food and was delivered within 30 mins! We will definitely be back when holidaying in Filey!

Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time 👍

Only wanted a snock on the way home so we ordered a portion of onion rings, chips and curry sauce. I thought it was a bit expensive at £9. When we opened the bag we were in shock at the amount we had. Probably 18 chips and a table spoon of curry sauce the onion rings were terrible and tasted awful. Would advise not going here at all. Terrible

Popped in - ordered for half an hours time - went to pub - collected hot and fresh and delicious half hour later - the best - really great food

We come to the east coast on holiday each year and stay at Cayton Bay. We always use New Kam San because the food and service is great and again this year its been excellent. We especially love the satay sauce, its so thick and creamy, nothing like we can get back home. I also phoned at 5:30 and asked for a later delivery at 7:30 and it was bang on time. Delivery driver was really cheerful and friendly too. Won't use another Chinese when we're on holiday here.

Very disappointed as they took my phone order after knowing my address and also knowing I have a disabled child to then say they can only meet me at a main gate after been told the circumstances and agreeing, it was my 1st and last time from these guys. Please all be aware

Quick service, ordered a huge amount of food which was ready to pick up in 15 min. Everything was very tasty, no complaints.

Telephone order, very helpful, bought food to us at reception of holiday site however the food was very greasy and tasted burnt. Hong Kong chicken was in a very odd vinegary style sauce

We are staying at primrose valley caravan park.we ordered from here last year whilst on holiday so decided to order again this year. The driver brings the food to the front gate so you have to meet him but he rings you when he's 5 minutes away. He was really lovely and put our food in my car. The food was hot and we all enjoyed our meals. The one negative is that they haven't changed the prices online so it's still old prices so our bill was a lot higher than expected .also for delivery they only accept cash.

Ordered from here last night. Rang order through to collect. 5 mins drive from us at Primrose Valley. Order was ready in 15 mins. All food was lovely, hot & huge portions too. £40 to feed a family of 4 adults & 1 child, with plenty left over for supper. Very good value 👍

The food was revolting! My duck was mostly fat and tasted disgusting. Ended up in the bin. Waste of money.

I have never seen or tasted a more horrible mess! A supposedly mixed meat Szechuan??? I couldn’t even distinguish the meat, and that was overpowered by a sweet and sour sauce with great lumps of onion and carrot. I am no Gordon Ramsay, but I wouldn’t touch this place with a 20 foot barge pole!! The best part of all this was the excellent service by the delivery man. You have been warned!!

Salt and pepper ribs were a joke. Never seen salt and pepper seasoning. Absolute rubbish. I would be ashamed to serve them. Lemon chicken was good. Fried rice average. All in all,not good.

Ordered food on line, and great communications from the driver when food en-route and when her arrived, food was hot and delicious, definitely will order from them on our next visit

Honestly the worst Chinese I have ever had put in front of me. Everything smelled dirty like the oil has never been changed. Nothing tasted of anything at all, with exception to the chips that were seemingly bought in from a chip shop and microwaved before being sent out, we are 4-5 mins away from the shop yet everything was cold and lifeless by the time it got to us. Don’t waste your time going here. Cheers New Kam San, Girlfriends crying.

Horrendous customer service. Spent around £100 for a delivery which was missing a couple of items only to be accused of lying about it when ringing up to get the missing items. After spending £100 I don’t think we’d lie about a chicken curry and some chips. The man who answered the phone needs to learn some basic manners. Got told we would be charged £3.50 to have the missing items delivered so we decided to collect and had to wait another 15 minutes inside the shop. Awful bloke, awful takeaway and awful scran. Edit: To answer your question about returning to your takeaway I’d rather boil my head than return, thanks.

This is my go to Chinese, normally get the duck pancakes, with the duck optionally on the bone. It's much Juicer, tonight I got lots of fatty random bits of duck with a bone just thrown on top. Absolutely terrible. The lemon chicken was extremely dry, felt re heated. I understand it's bank holiday but the standard of the food was just unacceptable, and I collected to save time..they offered my next meal for free which Is appreciated. But I'm not sure if I will go elsewhere from now on.

We went here twice, and ate quite late near the seafront. The first time, it was a little rainy, but it didn't spoil the food or the atmosphere. It was so nice we went again a few nights later! The ribs in plum sauce was beaut, the roast duck fried rice was perfect! I wish this place was located in my town, I'd probably try everything on their menu!

Excellent Chinese. The best I have had in a long time. We got king prawn chow mein and curry with fried rice. Was ready in less than 10 minutes, the prawns were excellent quality, the portions were large and it was very tasty. Good price and free prawn crackers! Keep up the good work, very impressed!

Fab food and gluten intolerant is catered for, all cooked separate and labelled, staff member who took the order was extremely helpful with gluten allergy also, great meal we will be back again. Thanks keep up the good work. My only slight moan was the food was luke warm on delivery but that didn’t spoil the quality of food.

A bit inflexible with the menu i.e. I fancied crispy pork and he said they'd do it with Peking sauce or sweet and sour, but not curry sauce! Why?! It was ok (pun intended), just not great.

I phoned an order in at 5.10, they took my order for delivery and said drivers start at 5.30, and to expect around 6…. It tasted like they’d cooked it t 5.10 & it had been standing there until delivered at 6pm. Chips over done cold and limp. Sweet n sour chicken Luke warm and really chewy, runny sauce, almost burnt noodles, the whole thing was awful. Never again

Got completely wrong order. Ordered mixed meat curry with chips and mushroom curry with fried rice and a portion of seaweed. Received a portion of special fried rice, chicken omelette, mushrooms In gravy and chips. Not a happy chappie. Gave you 1 star for getting the chips correct. Disappointing.

Sweet & sour sauce was far too thin

Being a local decided to try kam san again for a takeaway having avoided for many months. Well thankyou kam san you redeemed yourself tonight. Everything we had was lovely . All cooked to perfection nice and hot and tasty. Keep up the good work please don't slip standards again .

Pretty good Chinese takeaway in the centre of Filey with a large number of options. Delivery to local area including nearby caravan parks.

Staying near Filey for a week, ordered what we normally get at home and totally disgusting, the only decent thing were prawn crackers, would never recommend this place to anyone

Don't waste your money!!! Go around the corner to Golden Dragon. We gave this a 2nd chance only due to delivery options but it was shocking. Whenever has Duck with Orange sauce been but in so much cucumber that all u can taste is cucumber!! The beef with mushrooms was like chewing leather and chicken chow mein had to be stirred up as the dry chicken was just put on the top of the noodles . The chips were a soggy pile of s--t.!! I'm not moaning for nothing, genuinely a shocking take away. PLEASE AVOID IF U LIKE A GOOD CHINESE!!

I have purchased a meal from Kam San this evening. Beef in Cantonese sauce which tasted nothing like Cantonese sauce. There was no flavour to it. Very poor.

Amazing place! We ordered here instead of dinning out we got quite a few items and they were big portions too! And we were impressed it cost us £25 altogether for everything we got. The food was delicious and will definitely order again ☺️

Nice food , good service . You can pay a pound extra for a small portion of fried rice with each meal instead of ordering the full portion as we did and ended up with too much.

Very Good service. The special chow mien is to be recommended, it was the best I’ve eaten anywhere. My wife had her favourite Chinese meal Sweet and Sour Prawns and was equally impresssed. Well worth a visit.

Only a visitor to Filey so only used this takeaway once. Placed an order over the phone and as stated previously the person taking the order did seem a little off hand. This was the only negative though as they delivered on time to the entrance at Primrose Valley and the delivery man did, as promised, call a few minutes before arrival giving me time to drive up. Food was nice, plentiful and still hot by the time I got it back to the caravan.

I often stay in Filey on business and had the vegetable chow main unfortunately it looked bland and had hardly any vegetables in accept a few green peppers (only colour) onions, bean shoots and overcooked noodles.You can choose to order wet or dry. Wet was a very poor gravy substitute!I was expecting to see some mushrooms, carrots, and broccoli for added colour but it was very bland and had no taste, very disappointing!

We had Crispy Seaweed, Veggie Spring Rolls. Chicken Balls with Sweet and Sour sauce and Mushroom Curry with fried Rice. Couldn't fault it.. Will def use again.

Great food and big portions. We had a KungPo and a Garlic sauce dish which were excellent. They also delivered direct to our caravan door at Cayton Bay for only £2.50. Would highly recommend.

Where do I start FROM start to Finish fantastic staying at primrose valley holiday park called up to get delivery was explained need to come to main gate but the driver would call when he was there. The guy on the phone explained best to have got the call half a hour later went to collect food driver was brilliant. When we got our food it was 1st class just wish I had this last night instead of pizza cause deffo had same tonight A+++++ Don't pass this place up

Ordered for delivery at the B&B , we where staying at, told us about One hour , came in about 40 mins & rung us to say the driver had arrived

Been many times over the years but unfortunately will not be going back. It's really gone downhill lately the food quality is not good. I had roast pork and it was just tiny little bits and hardly any satay sauce. The chips where not cooked fully and the curry sauce was watery and hardly any chicken and piles of under cooked onions. For the price it was poor quality poorly cooked and we will not return.

Brilliant take away Chinese food in Filey

I’ve been a customer of New Kam San in Filey for a number of years as a resident and it hurts to say that since the new owners have taken over I’m sorry to say the that quality of the food has fallen. Not only that but although the prices have risen the quantity of portions have reduced. I take no pleasure out of giving a review like this but I feel I must express my disappointment at the quality and quantity of the food now being delivered.
