New Hot wok Chinese Takeaway in North Ayrshire

Got a chicken curry tonight the chicken smells bad and also it tastes disgusting taste like it’s been frozen for days and just been reheated what’s happened to fresh food

This is probably the worst Chinese I’ve had, curry sauce like water no tase, ordered battered salt and chilli chips didn’t get battered only thing battered was the boxes the food came in, chicken all soggy too much soggy onions in it and lumpy curry sauce

Best Chinese in Irvine and it's not even close, tried half the menu and all of its amazing, defo recommend to anyone

I ordered a takeaway at 9.30 at night so not busy. I asked for my peking sauce separately in a tub. Never received the sauce!! Very disappointed to say the least!! Easy order....ffs!!!

Overall the food was excellent and delivery was quick but I must mention the "gravy" or "that strange sweet brown stuff" as we call it - won't be ordering that again! Gravy isn't meant to be sweet and this stuff could curl your toes, really disgusting and needs to be changed ASAP

My telephone order arrived but on opening it we discovered it was not what was ordered. I phoned them back to take the wrong order away and to re deliver the correct order and fresh chips. It arrived twenty minutes later but no fresh chips. The reason for this mix up, as told to me by the girl on the phone was that the kitchen staff were unable to read the menu or understand English!!! Not pleased. A

Visitor In the area !! Had a really lovely meal .? Well cooked,good portion size, served really hot, well priced and delivery time 20mins couldn't ask for more !!! Well done 🌟

Good food had to wait as it was very busy but that's a good sign I guess.had extra hot salt and pepper chicken was nice but would have liked it with a few extra chillies in

Used to be a brilliant Chinese takeaway in bourtreehill irvine. Just ordered spare ribs. Could not get bbq sauce had pekingese sauce which was nice but a bit spicy ( definitely prefer bbq sauce) the chicken curry was ok but the onions were not proper Chinese onions that I love and the sauce was very runny! The chips were that hard u could not eat them!! VERY DISAPPOINTED and will think twice about ordering again which is a shame as only 5mins away from my house 😒

The lucky star has changed management, it's now called hot wok and has a new menu. It used to be a fantastic chinese but sadly we weren't impressed with the food. We ordered a chicken curry, fried rice, chips, onion rings, a chicken Maryland snack meal and battered salt chilli chips. The curry wasnt very nice, it was like gravy and the chicken Maryland was just 1 peice of chicken with chips, not worth the money and certainly not a proper chicken Maryland! The battered chips were ok but nothing like I've had elsewhere and delivery took 1 hour and 10 mins, when I was told it wouldnt take long and they weren't busy. Doubt we will be back?

Ask for special curry hot when got it its a beef curry. Got order wrong. Had hotel soup that's twice I've had bad food out of here never again

Great chicken balls. Not greasy. Perfect. Good curry sauce. Always get two bags of chicken balls. One for the morning cold. Amazing!

Great local Chinese takeaway and nowhere near as popular as it should be with how amazing the food is, probably due to the location.

Smoked shredded chicken is awesome, a must try, price is good as well.

Ordered chips n cheese and chicken pakora. The pakora was fine but the chips were slightly under cooked and could of done with being fried longer as they were rather limp plus there was a very small portion of cheese which was quite embarrassing as there should always be plenty of cheese

Going here almost weekly for 25 years. Ive Never had to complain about anything. That is good going for any business. Quarter of a century is quite a long time.

Absoulty love this place gr8 food 1 suggestion be more flexible with what the customer wants regarding what they want in their meal regardless if its on the menu or not, they are paying for what they want. The food beautiful tho x
