The worst chinese I have ever tasted clearly cooked hours or days before and just re-heated do not waste your money yuk

Easily the worst "Special" chow mein I've ever had. Some chicken, pork & something that looked like spam. Avoid at all costs.

Absolute dire chinese, asked for house special chow mein...couple of bits a pork an chicken..very dry would not recommend. Shocking

Horrific experience, been going for years and ordered food tonight which was poor quality. Chicken tasted old and rice was over cooked. Lady on the phone was the rudest person I’ve ever met. I asked to speak to someone else (preferably with a better attitude) and she replied “do you speak mandarin”. Won’t be going back, the chicken and rice didn’t put me off going back, it’s because of her rudeness.

Looks like they have changed the chef, green curry didn’t taste like green curry, satay sauce was awful, tasted like bbq sauce, I called and they said oh that’s how traditional thai green tastes, it doesn’t as I’ve been to Thailand…….. I have been using this place for 7 years and now will change

It's a shame to be putting a poor review as Long time customers. but been placing less and less orders as the food has been going down hill. This place was our favourite Chinese takeaway but will not be returning as the last order was the worst. Not what you want after a long day working in the cold.

New owners, standard of food is good, fast service. Impressed with care they take in advising and advertising in the shop what their food contains in relation to allergies and food intolerance. Gives those who have a problem with this, peace of mind, as you can check the ingredients in the items on the menu BEFORE you order and avoid health problems.

Our experience in here is generally positive. Wanted to introduce some friends to here which was a good opportunity to try as i’ve had it saved forever !

Used many time, used to be good but in recent months it has been poor. Nice people though the ordering is hit and miss. Incorrect order twice in a row now and quality gone way down. Chicken tastes like boiled in bleach. Complained and refunded this time. Enough is enough. I’m done. Will go elsewhere sadly.

Have been using this chinese for quite some time. Its not cheap. Recently had a delivery of Ho Fan. The container was half full and majority were peppers. Pay good money. But will not be using any more.

I purchased chicken chow mein for my ex wife because she was not very well and I wish I hadn’t bothered. It was pretty disgusting, hardly no chicken or taste. I wouldn’t waste your money on this place as they need to learn how to cook, not impressed 😡

Ordered online at 9.45pm for delivery. Website said open until 11 and accepted the order and had a confirmation email. . Cash only so called to make payment on card to be told they close at 10 and won’t take the order!!!!! Poor service and didn’t understand English… very stressful experience

Absolutely spot on. I ordered King Prawn Curry Fried rice and it was amazing! My wife had one of the Chefs Specials and also loved it. The portions are generous, there was way more chips than I could eat. It was delivered in about 20 minutes and it was still very hot. Will definitely be ordering again!

Just visiting my mum and dad for the evening so we thought we would have a Chinese. The pancake rolls, chicken and sweetcorn soup and prawn crackers were nice, but everything else was honestly the worst thing I have experienced from a Chinese. The duck in plum sauce was anemic and full of onions. The salt and pepper prawns all looked the same and there were about 5 in there as they were soggy so can only assume these were shop bought and not made fresh. Chicken and bamboo with chestnuts also inedible no flavour too it whatsoever tasted watery.

Hands down the worst chinese we have ever had,when ordering the person taking the order was calling the dishes we ordered by different names as to what we were asking for which caused confusion,the food was terrible,crispy shredded chicked was soggy strips of battered chicken,the beef with mushrooms tasted of nothing so so bland,we asked for special thin noodles which came as chicken chow mein with peas (nothing like its description) all in all £30 for an absolute shambles of a meal,to top it off we told the lady taking the order which buzzer for the delivery driver to press and he obviously wasn't told as we had an irrate call from our land lady telling us our delivery was at the gate,will never use this place again and will certainly not recommend.

My son lives nearby so during our family visit, me and my son had popped to the football locally and decided to pop round a few pubs but to pre order a take away, so we popped in and placed our order and then lady was very friendly and when asking my surname, I didnt have to tell her how to spell it as her brother was interested in model trains and she showed me and my son some that he had built. Me and my son said we would be back in a hour for our order and off we popped round for a couple of the local pubs, on return we waited 5 minutes and our order was complete. We got back to my sons house and the order was large and plentiful. The food was superb and I know my son usually orders via phone. We will def be back

I've ordered from here for years and always enjoyed the food. Recently though I would order a particular rice and on 2 occasions I found a small stone at the bottom of said rice. The 2nd time I nearly cracked my tooth on it. The first time I rang and explained, they gave my money back after a day or 2 but then after the 2nd time I've decided not to order from here anymore. Massive shame.

I spent 67 pounds on a order and didn't get much of the order. Rang them luckily it was a lovely English lady. She said I will send out what u ordered.30 mins later the owner was at my my door with nothing no food I gave him the food they delivered and said where is my order? He put his finger up to me and went. So discussing as iam disabled and cant go out and my son came to see me and the Chinese take away so bad with nothing I wanted

Food is always delicious and good size portions compared to others we've tried. Dropped a star as we cant order online for delivery as our post code isnt on there but they do deliveries in our area.

Excellent choice, especially in lock down. Had seen good reviews, and being fed up of a choice of Indian, Indian or Indian decided to risk it. Ordering on line was very easy with a limited but interesting menu. Dishes were fully described & was impressed they had dim sum, so added the Gourmet box to the standard family order. Bit of a panic when realised cash payment only but managed to scrounge enough to pay the delivery person. Delivery was quicker than expected, with a lovely delivery lady. The food was amazing. Looked fresh & tasty & they had paid attention to the special request for no onions. Both my husband & I were very pleased with our choices & will definitely order again.

Horrified with the lack of training in customer service, waited an hour and a half for our food to first be told the driver should of been there already to then being told our order hasn’t even been cooked yet and the best they can do is a free bottle of drink and prawn crackers with 10% off absolute joke we order here regularly this is unacceptable

Since being under new management for just over 4 months now, Oriental Express has excelled to a new level of quality and taste. As a result of this, me and my partner are now regular customers, shunning the other 4 local chinese take-aways. In addition to the vast menu available, the food is always fresh looking, deliciously tasting, and just as important it is always delivered to us well within the allocated time slot when we phone in for a home delivery. I would certainly recommend this local Goumet Chinese to any visitor to Royal Wootton Bassett.

Telephoned with large order for eight for birthday. Delightful staff who were helpful and keen to get the order right. Delivery with a smile and the food was absolutely lovely. Thai curry was ordered x 4 with chicken, prawn and squid and all were delicious. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Only had chicken balls so can't comment on other food here but I found the chicken balls to be very stringy, couldn't eat them all because of this.

The best Chinese I've had in a while and I asked them to change my noodles to rice noodles because of my allergy and they were fantastic ordering again tonight xx

First time of ordering from you. We had a delivery at home. It was delivered still piping hot. The Crispy Pancakes were packed full of delicious bean sprouts, the Chicken Stir fried Chicken, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts were so tasty, loaded with chicken. Beef black bean sauce was yummy to, fried egg rice was so fluffy. I'm so impressed I will definitely be having more😀

Its good, but every one has a presence for a Chinese Takeaway in RWB, I prefer Peking House on the Woodshaw complex.

Quick takeaway after voting this evening. Rarely treat ourselves but picked tonight.My partner has said that our previous meals had started to disappoint so we should go to the one across the road. I insisted on this venue as I like to support smaller businesses where possible.The stir fried fresh garlic & chilli chicken tasted of nothing. Literally nothing. There was no chilli or garlic in the dish. The chicken was also quite cold.The beef chop suey dish was grey. I didn't recognise what it was. Bean sprouts and grey beef pieces. We haven't eaten it.The Peking dumplings were better but not by far.We called to feedback and the venue wasn't willing to offer a refund and said an undetermined amount of credit would be added to our account but sadly I don't think it's worth the risk ordering again to utilise it.Perhaps if a customer takes the time to call and politely inform of sub-par quality it should warrant more action. If this was brought to the table in a restaurant it would have been sent back to the kitchen.Disappointing.Having to cook dinner anyway now. Frustrating to feel money wasted.

It has a quite extensive Menu inviting you to taste different style of the same dishes. As there was a party of us, we chose one of the set Menus - and supplemented it with individual dishes.

Used to be a good Chinese, food is still good but if you want it cooked or delivered in a good time (under an hour) then go elsewhere. Always have to chase for the food to be delivered ....

Never fails. 100% recommend. Ordered on a Friday evening and was delivered, hot, I'm less than 30 minutes. Chicken balls and the prawn toast are our faves 👍

Food was dreadful, only 1 dish out of 6 I deemed edible. Chicken was slimy and bland and there was literally no sauce in the chicken and “black bean sauce”. Noodles, shocking. Egg Fried Rice, just bland and tasteless. First and last time using them

We always use this Chinese takeaway!In Minety there aren't many places that will deliver however we've been lucky to get a good quality Chinese that does! We ordered directly on their site which is super easy. However recently you've had to pay at the door with cash as their paypal system isn't working. But they've been offering a 10% off due to this issue which is great!It always comes quickly and is always still nice and hot. Last time they did forget part of our order due to a new chef. But they kindly added the item to our next order and added some free items to say sorry! They're all extremely kind and we will be going back here time and time again!

Very nice food and a great selection. I like the authentic range of sides they have like steamed buns, dumplings, battered squid. Delicious food, friendly staff. Would rate a five star, but because it is a minimum of £15 on a card payment I have to drop it to a four star.

We are spoiled rotten in Wootton Bassett when it comes to Chinese takeaways. This place is great as it offers online ordering and quick delivery. One time it only took 16 minutes from order time to delivery. Even though it is quick, the food is very tasty. The portions are good and there is usually plenty left over.

I travel all over the country and have Chinese takeaway regularly,this was the most boring tasteless food of all time,I think there is more taste in a bread and butter sandwich,not the cheapest and certainly not the largest portions,very dissatisfied,my first review ever,but felt strongly about letting people know my opinion
