New Golden City in Bradford

Would recommend it, food is good.

What happened? This used to be a great takeaway. Last night I bad the worst most inedible takeaway of my life. Special curry- what can go wrong? Scrappy bits of meat which tasted funny in a hideous sweet ( yes sweet) curry sauce. A taste and straight in the bin, easily the worst takeaway in my life. Will never go there again!

After using this Chinese for years and happy with everything, we can honestly say we had the worst Chinese meal I have ever eaten last night. Everything was over cooked and had no taste. We will not be returning

Best salt and pepper chicken & chips! Never thirsty and looking forward to trying the udon noodles. Oh and reasonably priced!

Personally I love going here to get the salt and pepper chicken and the crispy bo bo chicken with chips. The quality of the food and the friendly staff says it all. Will be coming back and has definitely raised my expectations for all take outs to be like this

Best onion rings around. Salt and pepper chips can't find anywhere as nice as these Downside is they don't deliver but worth the trip very reasonable prices

Regular weekly customer. Spent £26 had free voucher because of this they took already prepared spring rolls out of the bag as they deducted the voucher cost. Disgusted they could not give as they would be no good to sell again.

Spot on would highly recommend. Infact think I fancy a Chinese after this review lol.

Ordered Curry with fried rice & chow mein, could have done without the peppers but other than that they were perfect.

Always good. I don't get anything exciting (chicken fries rice and curry sauce), but when I eat it, its like a hug in a bowl. Just so comforting. Really glad I found these guys 🙃

Szechuan special had no spice/ heat & very bland in flavour, chips were extremely dry as if re-heated from the day before. Very disappointed as this restaurant had been recommended. Despite being hungry didn't finish the meal.

I know this place as New Golden City. Easy to order on the phone. Large selection of dishes. Fairly priced. They have a loyalty card on the menu if you spend over £17, 4 times you get free Salt and Pepper chicken pieces. Can't say we've ever had a bad meal from here. I usually over order the starters and struggle to eat the mains. Mains come in plastic tubs, which can be stored and eaten later. Last time we went we had to order over the phone and only enter the shop to pick up (previously people would order and wait). Staff were wearing masks and they have a screen up. This may all change soon. Cash only. Paying online/via card in store would be good, but I believe this is so they have the cash in hand. Many other takeaways have installed cash payment options or order online, maybe worth them investing on this tech.

Beef tough never had a special fried rice in a sauce poor do not recommend

avoid this take away waited 2 hours for my order then it was wrong

Almost consistently good food and good service and excellent value for money except for one sheet and sour dish that I had that was not the best at all but otherwise I recommend

Ordered a meal for three of us to share: Szechuan Chicken King Prawn Fried Rice Salt & Pepper Chips Side Curry Sauce The Szechuan Chicken was nice in all fairness, freshly cooked. King Prawn Fried Rice - Literally 10 prawns and fried rice, nothing else? No veg, seasoning, nothing. Extremely bland. Salt & Pepper Chips - Mixture of reheated, hard chips and fresh. Used to be one of the best locally but will no longer return.

This is definitely the best Chinese takeaway in the area and for a good 5 mile radius. We have not had a bad meal yet, the portion sizes are very generous. All the meals we have tried have been extremely tasty, I can highly recommend the bbq spare ribs in bbq sauce, the sauce tastes delicious and the ribs are really meaty and tender. Kung po chicken is another delightful tasting meal with lots of meat and vegetables.

Normally love the food from here, but tonight I have no words. My dead nan had more life in her than these things, deep fried cardboard from 5 days ago Ewww. Then cold jellyfied Sweet & Sour Sauce with hard as nails greasy chicken balls. Nasty greasy food. Wont be eating here again, everyone has off days but jesus I refuse to eat last weeks left overs.

No matter what you order it’s ready in 10/15mins which is not a good sign of fresh cooked food. Sometimes you can go and it’s nice others it’s down right awful and greasy. The chicken balls soak up so much oil it’s disgusting. They also advertise Thai food which is defo not Thai food or anything like it.

Just got home with a mushroom fu yung Which is basically an omelette and the egg was burnt it tasted awful worse fu yung I've ever had. The cook must have known he'd burnt it so bad just couldn't be bothered doing another pass it on and hope they don't notice attitude is how they loose customers. I won't be returning.

Best Chinese takeaway I have come across, I have chicken curry bbq ribs and chips. Very nice. Tried most in and around bd13,bd6, BD12 and this is my favorite, followed by royal eastern Queensbury. Prefer here though.

Good value food. We had a range of meal's rice and chips's. The staff seemed friendly. Just could do with a delivery service for lasy nights in.

Best Chinese going in the area. Sometimes a bit slow but the food makes up for it. They don’t offer delivery either just for reference.

Just had a takeaway from New Golden City and although I have eaten from here before this meal was even more disappointing than the last one. The service was very good but the chicken balls in the sweet and sour sauce tasted like scraps of meat. It appeared to me like they had put lovely flavours on poor quality food. It just didn't work for me and I don't think I will be going there again.

I ordered chicken chow mein turned up to collect order and they said I'd ordered another six items too which I hadn't when I got home I didn't have chicken chow mein I had fried rice with pork and prawns in which isn't what I ordered

Brilliant food every time. Recommend special fried rice and curry sauce the salt and pepper platter is amazinv too. Lovely, friendly, polite staff. Great service, delivery on time and collection times always right they don't keep you waiting.

So every one in Clayton and Queensbury I know rave about this place, so I thought I'd try it out. The food is Top Class I ordered salt pepper chicken pieces and BBQ ribs DELICIOUS and so flavoursome and big portions too. I also ordered chicken fried rice theirs more chicken than rice what takeaway does that. Now I come every week at least twice which doesn't help my diet but who CARE 10/10

We usually go to a different chinese takeaway but decided to give this one a go at friends recommendation. Ordered a chicken and mushroom and a special green pepper in black been sauce. Great service, arrived there and food ready within 15 mins. Lady on counter confirmed the order twice which is fine but she does not know what is put in the bags. Arrived home and found instead of special green pepper in black bean sauce I had beef and mushroom ! Not the end of the world as I can eat that but not what I ordered so was extremely disappointed. Will not be going back to the New Golden City again now.

Best Chinese you'll have in Bradford!! Yes they don't delivery but if you want a fab Chinese it's worth going to collect. Not badly priced and if you spend over £14 you get a stamp so you can get extra food for free 👍🏻

I order from new golden city every Friday with my family. They never fail to impress us with the gorgeous food. They are so friendly and well mannered no other Chinese take always compare! Would be even better if they delivered!
