New Continental - Preston in Preston

Only stopped for a coffee and a beer both were great cappuccino and pint of Berliner spot on.

Did not have food but it looked really good and very popular. Asked about gigs and the staff were amazingly friendly and went out of their way showing us around.

I love it place.its a lovely pub,it's always friendly,we drive down from lancaster.they have some superb artists on.the food is excellent.this might be my favourite venue.support local pubs and music venues. Excellent.

Most enjoyable beer after a long walk

The food as always was amazing The pub was very busy and quite loud at times especially near the eating part of the pub, service was a bit slow but the staff had told us that when we ordered. But all the food came at the same time and was fantastic

The pubs in a good location and has a decent selection of beers, that’s good enough to look over the rude and abrupt staff who’ll usually ignore you while you wait to be served. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been waiting 10 minutes to be served, if someone else walks they’ll probably serve them first and treat you like an inconvenience. This is what to expect when you visit. Will be spending my money at places that want it in future, somewhere that treats the customer with respect and don’t make you feel like an unwanted guest.

Great place for a Sunday after a walk along the river or the park. Always busy so advance booking advised. Booth or conservatory tables available. Great range of well kept cask ales and equally nice wines. Dog friendly in parts and nice clientele. Do have live music at times (see website or posters)

Only had beer this time but still a great place. Beer was great showing it has obviously been looked after.

Went there to see a band, "Just Radiohead" they were amazing. We didn't eat because we couldn't get a table. Apparently, you need to book in advance which we didn't 😞

I went to see a mate do a gig. Didn't eat but enjoyed a pint or two in the snug, which was great. Fantastic atmosphere a new discovery and will go again.

Visited for the monthly comedy club. Great venue and atmosphere. Will visit again as the food looked amazing.

Without a doubt the best steak of my holiday!

Love it, great choice of ales, lowenbrau on draft, food is tasty, and atmosphere is fun. Frequent bands appear there can make for a great night out and not too expensive.

Not much choice in beers. Sat down in the conservatory, the glass was filthy and overall looked shabby.

I took my dad for a stroll around Avenham park, which is beautiful by the way. We parked the car in one of the entrances car parks. Upon return to the car we decided to go to the New Continental for a bite of lunch as it is opposite the car park. This is a hidden gem of a pub. Really nice rooms, outdoor space and large conservatory to sit in or out. The lunch menu was extensive and very tasty. Would definitely go again

My fiancee had chicken parmesan on a ciabatta it was ok she said but the chicken was rather tough, possibly a little over cooked. Mine was the CBLT on ciabatta and that was delicious..

Had the best day visiting Preston, sat out in the beer garden, great selection of drinks and staff very friendly, will definitely be back.

Nice selection of beers . We sat in the beer garden which is by the river . There is a lot of work going on by the river bank so it will be better when that is done !

We had a celebration for my wife and everything was superbly done. Can't wait to go again

Fantastic pub. Not only was the service and beer fantastic, not only was the roast dinner a solid 9 out of 10 (only marked down slightly because ever so slightly overdone Yorkshires, although past the slightly bitter crust they were absolutely delicious and fluffy inside, but more than full marks for the rest X especially the nice surprise of FANTASTIC mash hiding under the roast beef), but the staff were still really sweet even after we accidentally did a runner when my compadre had to get to the station really quickly! Ouch! Feel like such a fool. Still - fantastic pub, and if I'm ever in Preston again I'll be back 🕺

Great place but overpriced now and food average for the cost.

Pricey generic beer. Shouldn't be paying massively over the odds for two halves. Lots of seating outside. Not much of an atmosphere but okay if you want to sit out with your dog.

It's OK. It's certainly changed from how I remember it. Nice setting though.

Raw food. When you complain about raw chicken the staff stare and make you feel uncomfortable. It’s not what it used to be

This place is very noisy and loud. The beers are cheap. They have music at night. It's a nice place for the youths.

Disappointed with the service today. When questioning the lady behind the bar about a beer, she was rude and rolled her eyes at me. She could easily of asked if I wanted to try a tiny bit before I decided that was the one I'd had previously. Very poor service.

All round very good. Food nice and hot, seemed pricey but that's standard now. Great selection of local beers. Nice beer garden, quick service. Basically very good just not quite wow.

Staff are very friendly, the outside garden is pleasant if not particularly comfortable. The food was good, although a very picky teenager couldn't eat his sandwich because they didn't listen when we asked for plain mayo and no garnish.

Not your average pub. Amazing food - not just cheap pub grub. Well thought out and beautifully executed menu. Staff lovely and friebdly.Great range of ales. Smashing atmosphere! Would give ten stars if possible.

Retired Hotelier Forte Hotels on family get together from Scarborough . Excellent Sunday lunch complemented with outstanding service. Great care and food definitely served with loving care. Lovely setting and garden make it near perfect....missed by Bloody Mary! Thanks everyone... hopefully will return.

Close to park so handy for a drink after a walk , was going to eat but didn’t bother after seeing prices …. Ridiculous for a pub, and probably why there was no one else eating . Went elsewhere.

We went to watch County Pilots live. The only downside to our visit was the lack of a decent pint of cask bitter. The staff were very good and the atmosphere in the Boatyard was really good. The other artistes were ok too. County Pilots were excellent.

The New Continental in Preston, England, is a delightful pub conveniently located near the park. Parking was quite manageable, which made our visit stress-free. The food options were extensive and impressive. My steak was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated, making me feel like I was dining above my pay grade. My companions also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The option to eat outside was a wonderful addition, allowing us to enjoy the pleasant weather. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that I highly recommend.

Great selection of ales and a nice atmosphere but absolutely outrageous food prices for standard pub grub. We get the cost of living is biting but you could knock a fiver off all the prices here and be comparable with other pubs. I had the Korean chicken and it was 17 quid for a rice stir fry. Advice: drink but don't eat.

A great beer garden to sit out in when the ☀️ is shining - choose from a top selection of cask ales all reasonably priced. About a 20 minute pleasant stroll through Avenham Park to the centre of Preston.

Cancels events with very little notice, does not care about fans nor bands.

The food leaves a lot to be desired and it is very expensive considering the poor quality. I won't be eating there again

Only been here recently as a gig venue. It was a good room. Main bar in the pub had a good range of beers.

A great selection of beer, both cask and keg. People I met there were also very complimentary about the food, but that's second hand info so I've not rated for that.

The perfect spot to eat lunch with a fantastic view of avenham park! Me & my boyfriend cycle here a lot and there’s plenty of space to put your bikes & sit outside . The staff are friendly and welcoming, it’s also dog friendly too and the garden is lovely. Not to mention the food is amazing 👌🏻 😃

Fish bites and chips were absolutely delicious. The outdoor seating area is perfect for a hot day. The staff are very friendly. Nice live music in here too. Highly recommend a visit.

Ate at the continental this evening and had the tomahawk steak for two which is new to the menu and I have to say what a treat for the eye's and the belly! The staff were professional as usual and the head chef even came out to us to make sure we were happy. Definitely the best restaurant in Preston hands down. Well done to Lisa and the team. 😁

A small group of people very much looking for trouble. Won't be going to another SKAFACE gig. The band was brilliant but the scum barging people around wasn't even noticed by the one security man.......a big mistake going to the continental that night. Could have ended very badly 😞. Get your act together continental. There must have been so many coke wraps in your rubbish bins the day after, and I really don't post reviews like this for nothing. I didn't go to your venue to be abused and pay money for the privilege. It should all be on your CCTV footage.

Went in unexpectedly, had a starter and half a pint... Food isn't cheap, but it's bloody good, and the beer selection is very interesting. Also has live music regularly. And they've got a car park, and a beer garden... bonus!

Friday lunch with a friend. We had the line caught cod and the cheesy burger. Both meals were well presented and perfectly cooked as well as being good value for generous plateful. The young server knew his stuff, and was helpful without being over the top. The room itself was spotless, warm and welcoming after we had had a long walk on a chilly day. Perfect food, lager and coffee. The Continental had great reviews and thoroughly deserved them by exceeding my expectations.

Love the Conti. Best pub in Preston. Menu changes up frequently and lots of choice of beers, ales, ciders. Has a Feb outside area too. Very GF friendly menu.
