This was my usual spot for a Chinese until today. First my food was late when I called guy on the phone said "it's just left" it took 15 minutes since the Chinese is 5 minutes away?? When it eventually came my duck pancakes had no sauce, so I called and the guy was cheeky to me and tried to palm me off. Then said are you sure you want it basically trying to get me to say no it's OK.

The delivery was quick The noddles and veg in the chow mein were nice the chicken was inedible Ordered hoi sin chilli bean chicken - there was no hoi sin just very salty fried chicken - I think they forgot some ingredients while making it. Shame as this place used to be really nice. Far too expensive for inedible Chinese

My usual Chinese was closed tonight so I tried here instead, worse mistake ever. The most expensive chicken curry in newtownabbey by about £2 and you'll probably find more chicken in a beef and tomato pot noodle. Should've read the reviews they are accurate!! I would definitely avoid, won't be back

Worst Chinese ever:/ prawn toast hard as a brick never had anything like it. The salt and chilli chips soggy no veg just chilli flakes. Honey chilli chicken was literally honey with chilli flakes and a few pieces of green onion. Salt and chilli chicken had veg that was next to raw, no flavour other than the spice. Portion sizes were small for the price as well. Service etc was grand but food is rank

Ordered a drink and a gravy chip (which was small and a spoon full of gravy) which cost £7.20!! Can get a whole meal up the road for that. Think I'll be staying clear, clearly don't care what they put out.

Awful experience. First they ring to say they don't have something that I'd ordered (they just haven't bothered to take it off the menu) so I order something substantially cheaper. Can't have my money back unless I cancel the order. And she won't add on any extras to compensate me. Then the food arrives without the drinks we paid for. The same cheeky girl on the phone then says can we not just have a free drink next time. There won't be a next time, average food, bad customer service!

i got food poisoned from here and turned vegetarian thanks.

Ordered a delivery. Pancake duck starter, beef, mushroom with black bean sauce and chicken ginger with spring onion. Very bland food. Dry chicken. Flavourless and waste of money. Very poor and very disappointing. And, better still, the free prawn crackers were soft and stale. Why?

Ordered through the app at 7pm given predicted delivery time of 7:45. Called for an update at 8:15 and was told its on its way. Didn't arrive until 8:50. I ordered chicken noodle soup that was not enjoyable. Just completely unseasoned, no flavour whatsoever, a couple of pieces of bland boiled chicken floating about water with noodles. The salt and chilli special was decent, but the rice was gritty. Overall disappointed, I had been recommended and hoped they had improved from the last time I tried a few years back.

Always speedy service, great tasting food and best honey chili chicken in the area!

Food wasn’t the best. Very small portions and not very palatable. Not a go back to . I won’t return. Can’t honestly recommend.

Good tasting food that is consistently good.

Terrible food, kids portions for adults prices. Terrible. The smell of the gravy was terrible and the chicken was under cooked. Never again and I will be telling everyone I know to stay away. Go to Asian star if you want a good Chinese!

I don't get the myriad of 1 star reviews. This is a decent quality Chinese. I've ordered quite a few dishes from here and never had any bad experiences with any of them. A good quality Chinese takeaway.

I should have listened to the reviews, shameful low quality bad tasting food, 0 care or respect for customers sending this stuff out for consumption, The thai curry tastes funky not in a nice way, covered in a layer of pure oil, the crispy salt and chilli chicken is not crispy, however tastes ok, onions uncooked in both of the dishes, chips are oddly flavorless and drenched in oil with a floppy mush texture. Shameful for the price, a ready meal would of cost a fith of the price and would of been better. At least the delivery guy was nice I guess

Moved away from this Chinese about 5 years ago and missed the place. Got something out of it today it's insanely over priced the portions are really small and it didn't taste good at all I couldn't even finish it. It's definitely not the same place it used to be

Second time ordering Beef & green pepper and black bean sauce . Never again I decided to give it another go .... beef like jelly did not taste like meat at all. We would have always bought are takeaway from New Century but this will be the last. I can only assume they are buying cheap meat products and marinating it +++until the meat looses texture / form and becomes jelly like it texture ....it also had a fishy smell . Truly awful Avoid

Had spare ribs then chicken in oyster sauce. Completely tasteless worse food ever

Very consistent, great quality and good value. This place is always busy, usually a good sign, but it does mean deliveries can be slow. Collection is definitely the way to go.

Absolutely stinking won't be back

If no stars was an option it would have been my choice. Mixed grill bought 2nd January 2022. Will never buy from new century again. Pork chop tough as old boots, steak strange taste, bacon raw, liver undercooked and mushy inside, chips inedible and lastly gravy and peas tasteless. At £9.50 it was a rip off. Sausage was the only decent bit of mixed grill. Put the mixed grill outside even the cats and birds wouldn't eat it.

Food here is lovely! HOWEVER! This is the second time ive ordered and had to sit and wait more than 2 hours and still be waiting. They didnt even have the decency to phone and say they were behind with orders! It says online that orders will all be delivered within one and a half hours! Disgusting waiting times tbh.

Ordered half and half of chips and rice with gravy and a portion of chicken balls. The chips were obviously frozen and not even cooked the rice wasn’t cooked right. Everything was cold

Ordered a steak burger which comes with salad,and a portion of chips. Steak burger was burnt and no salad with it. Chips were soggy and obviously refried. Very poor service.

Szechuan chicken... I thought I was eating raw coriander the dish had that much ginger in it, boiled chicken with overpowering ginger watery sauce, I used to order from here all the time, not anymore.

Very last time I will order, twice my order had to be sent out both times was wrong Ann they say I didn't ask for gravy #1 defo did #2 gravy's part of a special fried rice edjiots Bet your delivery driver feels so emabberesded but God rithens not be near my door again with your oknfood but wrong orders 2 ice in a row then to stop answer calls nnhour before use shut if not refunded tommrpw I will share all over Facebook plus I order the same thing for years so how can use edjots get it wrong twice Gutted foods in the binnnow

Ordered almost £30 of food and there was broken polystyrene from a cup in one of the mains. All of the meals had an oil slick on top. Threw everything in the bin straight away without taking a bite. Phoned to complain and ask for a refund but nobody answered. Will never order from here again.

Enjoyed a nice carryout was still warm when we got home, we will be back when up that way again.

Placed an order on their app and the food was a disgrace, the duck was fatty and the sauce just tasted off, ordered honey chilli chicken and got lemon chicken instead. I can easily say that i will not be getting food from there again. Disgace

couldnt tell you about the food as it's been an hour and 50 minutes and i still havent gotten it. can't get through the phone as lines are constantly busy and the one time i did the phone gave me a message saying this number cannot take my call and to redial. i paid on the app so ive wasted my money either way even if the food does arrive by some grace of god. do not waste your money on this i live less than a mile away and still havent recieved my food.

Your website and app refusing to let me order this is ridiculous

Waited two hours for delivery, when I received my order the boiled rice and chips (1/2 & 1/2) was missing from one of the meals. The sesame chicken was very gooey inside, it wasn't eaten. The other meal with honey and chilli chicken was OK but very small portion size. Then the chips that came with that meal were hard and Incredibly dry as if they had been cooked yesterday and just reheated again. Usually I loved this Chinese however not this time, I tried to call for my rice and chips but couldn't get through. So didn't obviously get those. Such a shame.

Food was disgusting! Curry sauce dark brown and looked burnt, burger freezing and dont get me started about the chips! Must have been fried about 6 times!!! Order placed at 5.45 and arrived at 8.15. Will never order from here again.total waste of money.

Usually enjoy this Chinese, however we ordered tonight and found it very, very disappointing! The honey chilli chicken we ordered arrived as salted chilli chicken and was full of gristle and bone and tasted odd. The satay beef which usually is nice was rather bland. Overall disappointing and probably won't use again.

Got out of here once and the protein was sad in the chicken curry and chips were as bad very small servings I also to a reactions to wat in in curry and my tongue swollen up like a balloon

Made an online order at 18.45.still no delivery at almost 21.00.. The website clearly states 60-90 mins.. We are less than a mile away.. Over 100 calls but either line busy or no answer.. First and last time getting food from here

Place an order for collection had to go back as items were missing but when I collected the food it didn't feel warm when I got home the chips where stone cold the special curry I got the beef was inedible overcooked the chicken was the same the noodles tasted like they had been cooked on a bonfire and the prawn toast you can use it for hammering in some nails won't be back

The new woman on the phones in here is frustrating! Asks for your phone number 4 times! Keeps getting it wrong! Asks for your order 4 times! Keeps getting it wrong! I actually just told her it didn’t matter and hung up. It’s the same every time with this lady! Learn how to use the til and open your ears! Most of the food is great, but the meals such as chicken fried rice are very small portion.

Awesome food, never been disappointed

I normally don't eat Chinese not because I don't like it but because I have a really bad allergy to Eggs and wheat and thought best to steer clear. However my daughter rang and asked about the suitability of beef in black Ben sauce. To her credit the young lady said she didn't know if it was suitable for me but would find out. She checked the allergy list checked again with the Boss and I got my Beef in Black Bean sauce which was absolutely beautiful. Thank you New Century. I will be ordering from you again.

Terrible meal tonight. Normally ok but special fried rice was dripping in an overly salty sauce, extremely greasy. Prawn crackers were horribly greasy too. Couldn't finish it. Very disappointing.

Phoned up, the person said "2 seconds", left me for 5 full minutes, so I hang up and tried to ring back and couldn't get through again.

Raw chicken in satay skewers immediately put us off the full meal. They came and collected the skewers and only gave us a refund for them which I think is a ridiculous considering we couldn't eat anything after being turned by eating raw chicken. Disgusting

Placed order at 7.55pm for delivery and it didn't arrive until 9.30pm.

A decent enough Chinese but expensive and delivery service can be slow at times. Food isn't the warmest when it arrives.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. When ordering had to wait on the phone about 3 mins before girl took my order. Needed to repeat my number 3 times. When I asked her to repeat it back to me to make sure she got it right. She replied no you repeat it back to me Told her twice no sea food in the special fried rice as I have a seafood alergy.I asked her to repeat my order back to me. Which she did Took nearly an hour for food to be delivered. It was cold and had seafood in the rice. Sesame prawn toast was burnt beyond recognition and couldn't be eaten

Best Chinese food, friendly staff, super quick and you can see all the cooking and food preparation. 5 stars from me and highly recommend 😋

Pretty delishious little take away, with modern waiting area. Accepts card payments which is a huge plus for me. Well worth a visit.

Used to be a regular here until found glass in my meal, shocked I took it back up and was greeted with a pathetic 15% off my next meal over £10 and a general feeling of we couldn't care less... Avoid this place. Little care for food quality and customer service.

Wish I could put a pic on of what I received tonight after ordering a chicken curry for collection it was an orange oil slick covering the top of the curry and half an inch deep till u got to the curry that didn't even mix with the oil . I called and got another one sent out free but that's exactly the same. Spike to a lovely girl on phone regarding the original complaint but no point calling again I've 2 Currys now sitting for the bin and going for something else for dinner I won't be going back and I have had lovely good in the past I'm disappointed

Rubbish customer service, tried to get a delivery was abruptly told its a 2 hr wait, I know its not the most glamorous job in the world but this is pretty pathetic but maybe the owner is making plenty of money and you are doing him a favour by sending away customers. Wont be calling again you can be guaranteed of that. Sad used to be a decent takeaway.

absolutely disgraceful ordered last nite the meal was recked and was told we could get a free meal next time phoned tonite for the free meal and was told we're note getting it now, bad customer service

We love chinese and thai cuisine and after a lot of trials in various restaurants and takeaways we have finally found the best. Authentic food. Excellent quality. The staff are friendly and cater for our vegetarian option.

Lovely fresh food cooked in front of you

Usually rate the food quite highly but tonight is a different story....first i couldnt have the soft shell crab then i could.....i wish i hadnt ....it was sloppy, over fried and far too salty. Ribs wernt great and spring rolls greasy...i think someone wanted home early!

Not sure why they're getting such high reviews, ordered soft shell crab told me it wasn't being served this time of night then sent me a soggy excuse for crab, consisting of two meagre portions that was so heavily salted no other flavours where present, ribs where the same no flavour from meat, all sauce. Sorry I paid for this Never again. I think Ill stick to KING 11. Would not recommend.

Definitely one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area. Not overly cheap but tasty food and decent portion sizes. Very rarely have been let down out of all the times we've used them - very reliable. You can watch as they cook so you know there's no chance of dodgy practises.

Service and selection is good but curry is weak and watery. Other meals good but curry not as good as others in the area

Healthy cooked Chinese food with no grease. Only reason why I didn't rate 5 stars is because their healthy sweet and sour tastes too healthy for me. Great nonetheless.

The food here is nice and the staff are very friendly. They cater well for gluten free and vegetarian. Delivery is very fast and cheap and if you're collecting from the store they take debit cards (however there is a surcharge at the machine for orders less than £15)

Best Chinese Takeaway in the area - in my opinion

After waiting over an hour on delivery..I rang to see what the delay was. The response was terrible..."Ahhh it hasn't left yet" No apology at all. If you want delivery service my tip is to order the day before!! Very poor service...16.01.2016
