Amazing experience at Nevis Bank Inn! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to us travellers who came from across the world (Asia). The rooms were specious and had scenic views. The toilet was huge and comfortable! The room came with ample snacks and drinks, even an espresso machine! Special shoutout to their Strawberry Chipotle Chicken and Black Wholegrain Rice, such a unique take on a simple chicken & rice dish!

Wonderful stay at the Nevis Bank Inn hotel. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the food in the restaurant was really delicious as well. Big shoutout to the staff working there (Charlie) who was very helpful and friendly, and went above and beyond in his service for us. Much appreciated, cheers!

Went for a meal there . linguine was the worse I have ever tasted . Bland and stodgy ( not given spoon . ) asked the waitress to make the bill up to 20 after paying voucher ( bill was 13 after our voucher ) and she made it up to 33 . Taking a self appointed 20 tip . My partners food was great . Just avoid the linguine overcooked and inedible .

Overall very good stay; staff on reception was brilliant and very helpful (they even let us dry our wet clothes after BN climb in one of their private areas). Rooms are comfy (proper hairdryer a big plus) the dinner on two evenings was delicious - had risotto with mushrooms, truffle and chicken and venison burger, a bit on a pricey side but good value for money as the food was tasty and good portion. Very convenient for Ben Nevis but around 10 min. walk to the town centre. One less star for breakfast - 7.30am start is too late for hikers and too long wait as hot breakfast cooked on order. It'd be great having porridge as self-served buffet option and some cold platter with boiled eggs and cheese.

We stayed here in June - we were traveling from overseas. The hotel was mostly pretty good, but not great. There is free onsite parking, the staff(reception and restaurant) were friendly and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast (hot and cold) was very yummy! On the downside. When we arrived, the reception area had a weird "fish" smell - not very pleasant. The bath is very high and hard to step into and the wifi was unsecured. It has a decent location.

Great location, easy access to shops, walks and Ben Nevis! The only issue was our room was way too hot, the air unit would turn up by itself and would make the room uncomfortable. And we couldn’t open the window, but we did have a small fan which helped :)

Overall enjoyed my stay at this hotel. We were part of a big group attempting Ben Nevis and stayed for a few days. Pros: staff were great and couldn't do enough for us. When my room was cold the lady on reception came to have a look at the heating controls and sorted it out. Food absolutely delicious in the restaurant. Breakfasts cooked to order as well as cold buffet selection. Good location 10 min walk to train station. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds. Packed lunches available for the next day. Cons: rooms were quite cold and the heating took ages to warm it up when you got back. I had a room with just a shower which came out sparingly (like a sprinkler), not great when you've been out all day and need to warm up.

My family recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences in Scotland. Staff was rude and dismissive (morning shift) when we requested for a table for our family of three to be seated together. Was told to split and be seated separately as we came in a tour group. There were many vacant tables in the restaurant but the waitress just couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction. Never expected such poor customer service.

Food and staff are great. A little pricey for dinner. The rooms are not 180£ a night worthy. Mold, paint flaking, dusty.

We had requested an upgraded room with a king bed. we were given a room on the top floor. When we arrived to the room, the window was fully open despite the temperature being around 45 Fahrenheit. The worst part was the overpowering smell of mold. The plus was she showed us another room with two twins but it only smelled mildly better. We ended up choosing the much smaller double room which thankfully didn’t smell. She did say there were kings on a lower floor but. If that was the case; why did she have trek to the top floor when lower floor rooms were available. BTW the other rooms didn’t have open windows.

We did not have a reservation and although there were many open tables we were made to wait over an hour for a table. The hostess was rude, the service was slow and the table we were finally given was definitely the worst table in the restaurant even though several better tables stayed open. We could never recommend such a place. We been in Scotland for 2 weeks and have had nothing but great experiences, so I guess one bad one isn’t bad.

We only stayed for dinner so we can't say anything about the hotel. Truly impeccable service. Absolutely perfect pork cheek starter. Venison burger perhaps a little dry to which we had to add some sauces but still very pleasant. Excellent dessert. Average bill (£30-40 each)

Very poor hotel, very far from a 4*. The bathroom shower has hardly any pressure or separate shower head. The tea area is at ground level and cannot be extracted. The mattresses seem to be quite old, not at all comfortable.

We went to Brown's Restaurant. Browns was the best restaurant we visited on our trip. In addition to the inevitable fish & chips, the menu offers fine game and fish dishes. The preparation is interesting and innovative. The wine selection is good. The service and the ambience could be a little better

The hidden gem of the NC500! If you're travelling through Wick, this is well worth a stop. It doesn't look much from the outside but the warm welcome, friendly banter and hospitality were all second to none. The barman couldn't hear enough about our trip so far and our plans for the next few days, showering us with recommendations and helpful tips. The love for the tourist was almost overwhelming, and the staff went out of their way to set us up on the WiFi, to lend us a phone charger and to handmake us their speciality house cocktail (ask for Ralph, with a knowing wink - he makes a mean martini). I'd advise calling ahead to book and make sure there's space for you, especially if you're travelling in a large group. It felt like a home away from home and I can't wait to come back and raise a glass with the amazing locals and fellow tourists alike!

Nice restaurant and food. Staff were very friendly, small but nice menu. Food was above average. They had some live music later in the evening. Bar area was smaller either not a huge amount of seating
