Neptunes Fish bar in Southend-on-Sea

My lady friend in her 80s and me were having a pleasant day and just wanted an Ice cream. We stopped at this window because advertised Italian Gelato. The man attending the public offended my friend who was walking with crutches due to a hip injury. She is under huge amount of pain and medication but that won’t stop her lively spirit from trying to go out and enjoy a good summer day. Is a way to take her mind out of the pain. My friend was asking questions about the flavours, the price, etc… as a pensioner and client she has the right to enquires. I’m not sure what he saw on my friend but that man in the counter (perhaps in his menopause) right away tall her if she was dunk? It was only midday. How rude, and what an aggressive customer service that was. My friend told him right away she was holding herself onto crutches, and that she was under medication. She told him he should not be working in that place. The man didn’t apologise. He just avoided the fact that he insulted my disabled lady friend in her 80s and wanted to change the conversation. We shouldn’t have bought the expensive scoop of ice cream. £7 for two ice creams. One in a cone and the other one in a small paper cup. They were tiny scoops that looks like one. The point is that that man that Saturday 20th July should not be serving to the public.

The chips were hard and not very hot. Overpriced and not very pleasant . Small portion and really didn't enjoy it which was disappointing as was very hungry

It was absolutely terrible with 0 customer service, very rude people. We waited 30 mins after ordering so we asked how long and he rudely shouted, it's coming be patient. Others were really annoyed since they ordered half pounder but got quater pounder. Also the fish was absolutely soggy. I must say rarely the fish is good but it is 50 50 and is not dependable. I would recommend that you never come to this store and hope a Mother Hubbard gets open in place of this rubbish. We paid 40 to 45 pound for 3 large fish and chips and the state of chips are always rubbish as they have too many black, rotten bits. The food was honestly worth 10 pound than 45. I will never come back after this experience. It is also Halal so a alternate option is chips station High street or Chicken spot, London Road which are highly recommended.

Great food, excellent service. New addition to menu pie and a pint or pie and a drink pie veg chips and gravy and a drink with adventure island 20% discount. Everytime we visit we eat here

Firstly our waitress was really friendly and took time to explain what gluten free options were on the menu for my friend. Despite being busy the service was good. The food was ok, but nothing special. There is a good choice of food on the menu. It is definitely worth going here before a show at the Cliffs Pavilion but do book as it’s very popular.
