Absolutely love Nell’s! The vibe is always spot on – great atmosphere and friendly service. The pizza is next level: thin, crispy bases with generous toppings that are both creative and surprisingly perfect together. The combinations might seem unusual at first, but they totally work once you try them. Easily one of the best pizza spots around. Highly recommend!

Best pizza I've ever had! - 6 months later still excellent

Pizza was good but the dough bites were a real disappointment

I’ve never felt the need to leave a negative review before, but unfortunately, it was a let down. We arrived for our evening booking and were seated by the gentleman with the ponytail, who gave us great service throughout the night- unfortunately, however, the same cannot be said for the remainder of the serving staff. Staff were consistently brusque and rude- one gentleman who brought a drink over asked my partner for ID (not an issue at all, fair enough), but in an incredibly snappy manner, and then when he checked it he simply slammed the ID on the table and left without a word- no clue why. After ordering another drink to the table, the waitress slammed down the pint, and again, left without a word, not even bothering to ask if the drink was for us, short of what would be simple courtesy in any kind of pub or restaurant. My partner and I felt horrible, and assumed we’d done something to offend the staff, but the gentleman mentioned earlier was consistently pleasant, so I doubt it. Perhaps we caught your team on a bad night, but that still doesn’t account for the fact we paid for a good night on our end. In terms of ordering, it was also a nightmare- the online ordering system is broken, and you cannot order a full pint of several of the beers via the QR code, the maximum being 2/3 of a pint?- we instead had to order at the bar, which was no real issue but simply a little frustrating, given that some beers had the option to order a pint and some didn’t. (If memory serves me correctly, I believe that the Veltins and Nell's IPA need a look on your ordering system, among others). Ordering in general was repeatedly crashing as well, and it figured to be pretty redundant by the end of the night- if you go here, just order at the bar instead. We also attempted to request that one pizza had the cheese taken off of one half of it- this wasn’t hugely important at all, and when another waitress came over to tell us that Nell’s don’t do half-and-half pizzas, we assured her that we didn’t mind having it with cheese throughout. This amounted to nothing anyway, as our pizza came out half-and-half regardless. On top of this though, during this interaction, the waitress wasn’t listening, talking over us and repeatedly asking us if we would prefer a wholly different pizza instead, again with the same snappy demeanour as the rest of the staff- we’ve honestly never received such horrendous customer service before, and being a customer service worker for a few years now, I’m not one with high standards for it at all- all I expect is common decency. The pizzas themselves were reasonably fine- perhaps not quite the quality of ingredients you’d expect for £16, but still worth going for. There was, however, no tequila left by about 9pm on Saturday night, and no nduja mayonaise when we ordered about an hour earlier. I really regret to say we were wholly disappointed, and if you fancy a pizza in Chorlton I’d recommend one of the other establishments there.

The food and drinks were fantastic (as always) but I wanted to leave a review to say how lovely the staff were when we visited. We went to Nell’s on Mother’s Day with our 5 month old baby, which usually panics me as I worry she will be a distraction to others. However, the members of staff were so incredible and friendly, it really put me at ease and I could actually relax! Thank you for a great experience :)

The staff were really kind and funny, the food was really good and the overall experience was 10/10.

Went for the half price January deal which is really good value at £14 for a massive 22" pizza. Our whole group was vegan and sadly they had run out of some of the ingredients for the one most of our group wanted. We didn't find out till after we paid which caused some confusion and then we confused them further with asking for some substitutes to make the alternative choice more to our taste. After confusing a couple of staff members the manager Ellie was extremely helpful in making sure we got a pizza we wanted, and even very kindly gave us one free out of the two we ordered, as we got them later than the rest of our group. Very good service and tasty pizzas which we took half home for later.

Really good pizza. Great value with the 50 percent off in January. Good vibe and good selection of beers on draught. Would go more regularly if they had pizza that was suitable for Coeliacs, like Proove, so my wife could come too.

Always amazing pizza, ingredients always taste fresh, and the half price January offer makes it unbeatable. Even at full price £28-£35 for a 22" pizza is still good. Service is a bit slow sometimes. Sat in the conservatory this time, which is nice to sit in, until it rains heavy and you get dropped on by some of the small leaks by the windows. Would recommend to anyone who likes a good pizza

Easily one of the best pizza joints in Manchester, a better topping selection than Rudy's and they also serve by the slice. They have a wide selection of beers, I recommend trying the pickle shot it's certainly interesting.

Had heard great things about Nell's from my son who migrated from the south to Chorlton post graduation last year. Had the pleasure of taking him and his partner to Nell's yesterday on a visit for his birthday. From cocktails to pizza and ice cream sandwiches, it's just the best! Fab service too. Can't wait to come back!

Visited yesterday and had 7.77 deal. It’s good deal for a pizza.

Do not forget and leave anything on the table in this restaurant they will just throw it in the bin. Accidentally left my 6year old sons first away game programme when we came up from London and instead of them putting it behind the counter they just threw it in the bin. Thanks guys nice one

Why oh why do pubs / restaurants feel that a good atmosphere is created by putting on music so loud you have to shout to be heard? Really stressful evening and was glad to leave.

Been here on many occasions, the pizza is superb and they have a good selection of beers. The staff are all great too. It's one of the places I miss living in Chorlton.

Good pizza especially for the price, but service was rather slow and the place was full of wasps.

It's in the top 3 for pizza in Manchester. But not in the top 3 for burgers because they don't sell burgers.

Service was great and the place is nice enough but the pizza really was not to my liking. I'd heard very good things about it and it didn't live up to the hype for me at all. You may well love it, as many people do, but not for me.

Beer garden was nice. Ordered the sidewalk vegan pizza. Never had such an oily pizza.

I'm not a customer at nells. Their delivery guy rang my doorbell but I told him its not my order wrong address. He walked away. I came out 20 minutes later and he'd left it on my driveway floor. Food on the floor. Not my order. Why didn't he return it to where he collected it from. £26 worth of order gone to waste. Nells pizza you need to re-evaluate your delivery system as its costing you money. Also no way of contacting you directly as phone line isn't live its bt call minder. I tried phoning you but its an answering machine. Oh well Foxes got a gr8 meal tonight..

Great pizza and service. Only downside is the bifold doors are broken and the heat is too much in the sun. Lucky MCR isn't that sunny!

Deliveroo order : 3253 This is a terrible place for pizza. I called 5 times to make sure the box is sealed due to health and safety. They never answered the phone. I paid for 5 extra toppings , this was not added. The dough was undercooked. This is a terrible place. Deliveroo have said leave a feedback. How does that resolve my problem. Please rectify this terrible experience.

I bought two ales that were both excellent, but was charged £3.75 for a 330ml can of non alcoholic Jamaica ginger beer, which I found shocking tbh.

Oh boy....I've been looking for the perfect thin crust pizza for a long time. Neopolitan pizza is fine...but I think its too floppy and the crust is too big for my personal taste. I prefer a more crispy NY-style crust...and that is EXACTLY what these guys do...and it's BRILLIANT! The pizza toppings are all great...classic combos and more imaginitive ones too. And even better they do a 22" pie which us worth getting just to marvel at the size of one slice. Seriously good pizza. Nells is a must try.

Really nice selection of beers and pizzas, in a relaxing environment. The food and service is always excellent, it is good value for money and is always reliable. It just works in a way that many of its local competitors don't always!

Honestly the best pizza you can get around here. The only tragedy is that they don't do in-house takeaway, you have to resort to deliveroo

When I rang to change it they couldn’t because it was via Deliveroo, I said I’d just do an additional order and they just added the extra pizza on for nothing to help me out. Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan and have got many pizzas from here and will continue to do so BUT my one and only complaint is when you get a takeaway the amount of sauce they give you is criminal seems as you pay for it. Not a one off but everytime. Apart from that love it both sitting in and taking away! Great pizza.

22 inch slices you can get there are proper tasty, garlic bread too. Highly recommend. Ordered a 14 inch for delivery, just missing the chives and sprinkled parm otherwise would have been just as perfect

The burrata pizza used to be my all-time favourite in Manchester but I've been less impressed lately, bit stingy with the toppings.

Some of the best Pizza in Manchester! Only comment is that it's a little pricey so expect to pay a little more than other local spots. Service is top notch, very friendly and welcoming.

I love Nell's but this branch was seriously disappointing. We visited Saturday evening and it took around 45m for pizzas. We weren't given an apology or told how long the food would be - trying to even find a member of staff to ask about the wait time was near on impossible. The food arrived freezing cold and two wrong food items - we just ate anyway as we were starving and couldn't find anyone to complain to. Very embarrassing as I took people as a recommendation.

The food took about one hour for 4 pizzas , when they came they was cold , also sat in the conservatory at the front it was freezing we all sat with our jackets on , as only one of the over head heating worked

Huge 22 inches pizza can Kill two adults easily 😎 Delicious and worthy for the money you are paying. I will recommend to have a 2 pints before and one with your pizza and 1-2 after😋 It will be a great night if you are pizza fan.

Up there with the best pizza I’ve ever tasted, the base has a great taste on its own and the toppings are very well sourced to deliver a punch of flavour, I’ve visited one in the northern quarter and this one in Chorlton.

Friendly warm staff. Ellie ( manager) was fantastic at customer service when we went there. Definitely a well deserved 5 star for the excellent service and great pizzas 🙂

What can I say? This pizza was an absolutely delightful surprise! I have tried the Greens pizza and the Burrata one, they were both packed with flavour, the dough was light and perfectly cooked. The Greens pizza was one the most delicious things I have had lately. I had to ask the pizza chef what the base was, I was so impressed. Absolutely recommend 100%

After being recommended by a friend, I was looking forward to trying Nell's. As a firm pizza lover, I had hopeful expectations. I'm so sad I can't give the full 5 stars! I really hoped I would. The pizza would have been perfect with more consistency; some slices had a tasty good amount of cheese whereas others had almost none, and I really expected to have more toppings for the price you're paying for the pizza (which is competitive, not overpriced) as the nduja and pepperoni was a little short. We both ordered the 'Do You 'Roni Honey?' pizza for delivery. I am still trying to decide whether to give Nell's another try, as those slices with topping and the ideal amount of cheese were absolutely delicious! 🍕

Had to try it after hearing good things, and wasn't disappointed. Was ready for collection bang on time, though the pizza didn't feel as piping hot as I'd have liked, felt a little on the underside of hot. That's not to take anything away from the overall taste though, crispy and soft base and a rich sauce, really tasty, chilli oil is nice but it did make the pizza feel a bit greasy. Happy with taste, value for money, size and the base/crust...good ingredients. Had the upside down margherita with 'N'duja. Would recommend. I do think a Nells would be good served to you at a table in a restaurant to get the best opinion on it.
