The course is absolutely fantastic and with the sun out our day couldn’t have been any better. The staff couldn’t have been any more helpful, what a great atmosphere, definitely coming back .

Two time I have booked to play at this golf course, and both times they have messed up the bookings. One member of our four ball has to have a buggy due to a back problem that gives him great discomfort which they was told during the bookings both time. Only to be told after a lengthy drive that they have no buggies or only one, even though they had been booked a week ahead. Not even an apology or some form of compensation was offered. The course itself is only ok at best.

The customer service at Nazeing golf course especially from Robert was exceptional unhelpful! I understand that I was trying to use a Groupon voucher but to say that they were too busy for me to use this however have availability for multiple tee times for this week and that I would have to pay £27 each was ridiculous! I found Robert to be very rude and unhelpful. I definitely do not recommend Nazeing golf course! Nowhere on my voucher does it state that I can not use it because you don't want people to play 'cheap golf'.

I live in Nazeing, and decided to take a walk through the golf course, (Since no one is playing golf at the moment) it has several public footpaths that run through it. I get the impression they do not like you using the public footpaths?. Went with my young children and on our walk noticed a few very old looking golf balls, actually embedded in the soft ground on the public footpath (Most of the footpath is grass) black in colour. So to make it fun decided to see how many we could find in the watery ditches and hedges along the public footpath, around 30 mins later i heard a car come along and just park up, old man watching us. Carried on and around another 30, 40 minutes later, the old man and car came racing round and the old man shouted out his window, that we needed to stay on the public footpath and that when we stepped off it, as in reaching into a hedge, right next to it, we were trespassing and also we were stealing any old golf balls we picked up. If i new who the old fellow was, i would be quite happy to give him all the blacken golf balls we find, if they mean so much to him. None have value and you could not play golf with them. With the age of them, you can tell they have never bothered to pick any up from the ditches etc. Even though he scared my children, by his manner - i will go out of my way to use the public footpaths through the golf course and if we see any golf balls i will let my children pick them up. I got the impression he was angry since he was watching us for over an hour and could not actually see us doing anything wrong, but had to say something for the effort of him staking us for over an hour. I would say if he is bored, why dose he not pick up all the litter we see around the club house?

We were there yesterday, 25th August 2019, the service and staff were excellent and could not do enough to be helpful. We sat by the french doors and the views over the golf course were spectacular.

On the long drive from the public road to the clubhouse there are some enormous pot holes. Club house a bit gloomy and the service a bit straight faced. Quiet nice course (difficult in places) with good greens. Signage to next hole could be better. The light rough is deep enough that you cannot see your ball until you are on top of it - so that slowed the round up. Do not go in the deep rough as it is instant lost ball. Overall good value but I would not rush back.

Two of us played for the first time here. The first thing we found was the course looking very picturesque on the way in as you drive pretty much through the whole course on the way to the clubhouse. The course itself has some really nice holes, with the bunkers and greens immaculate !! Although it may not be too testing for a 10- handicapper, the view and layout is gorgeous with plenty of fairway to aim at on many holes. There are 2-3 really hard, long testing holes too. The only reason we cant rate a 5 is because of the course signs. If you didnt have anyone around to ask, it's sometimes difficult to work out which you are playing next as signs are few and far between. Apparently that is being sorted out soon though. All in all, definitely worth a round !

A delicious piece of beef sitting alongside a succulent turkey and shiny glazed gammon. Plenty of vegetables. You are called up a few at a time so no pushing and shoving or queuing and it allows staff to make sure everything is fresh and plentiful. The surroundings are extremely pleasant with plenty of room around the tables. The view from the windows is great. Overall, a lovely lunch with family.

Would definitely recommend this for a family Sunday lunch. Food was just like mum cooked....crispy fluffy roasties, lovely Yorkshire puddings and 3 meats.....the sirloin of beef was cooked to perfection. Will certainly be bringing all the family here very soon. Thanks James and Kim xx

My daughter and i went here for a Sunday lunch and was very impressed with the decor and pleasant views. The lunch was a carvery, really tasty and plenty of it coupled with a great dessert menu. Certainly a step up from the usual carvery's.

I have played this course before about 2 years ago and whilst great value for the day (Groupon), the course was a little 'tired', but still worth a visit. Well, forget all that, staff and Pro, as before very friendly (if you rake the bunkers and repair pitch marks..quite right too!), but the greens and fairways, particularly the former are absolutely first class. I am not a weekly playing golfer, a weak one perhaps (!), but I have played many excellent South East Golf Courses and many first class Scottish Courses; the greens at Nazeing are comparable with any I have seen. The course itself, was I believe formerly open farmland, with the course around 30 years old and a very large and pleasant clubhouse, quite modern type build. Good food and snacks seem to be always on offer, with very attractive and pleasant 'Essex Ladies' behind the bar... an attraction itself! What more might you ask for your Clubhouse ambience? I would describe the course layout as 'American Style', long holes, wide and very attractive countryside. The condition of the course when we played in late August, was brilliant. Given problems with staffing I believe they had not that long ago, there certainly has been a turnaround and long may that continue. My playing partner and I (he was amazed at the condition of the course, having played there many times before) booked this through 'Groupon': At £18.00 for two a snip. Why many other courses don't follow this discounted rate, I'll never know. We had a brilliant day, on an almost empty (Thursday afternoon) course and spent £10.00 in the clubhouse on coffee and a lager, after the 9th hole and a further £12.00 in the bar after the round. So the club received around £40.00, when the course was hardly packed and we will certainly go again and have already booked and paid for another 'Groupon' voucher for a foursome. My local Crews Hill club, where I used to be a full member, still charges silly midweek prices, for a course and Clubhouse 'welcome' which is not a patch upon Nazeing! Keep it up..please

An extremely spacious venue. So nice not to be crammed in. Good views of the golf club. Comfy lounge to sit in for either pre dinner drinks or coffee after dinner. The carvery was very good. A choice of three meats or a bit of each. The roast potatoes were lovely and fluffy inside with a crisp golden outside. Vegetables were nice and fresh. An excellent place for Sunday lunch.

Booked this for last Sunday for 15 (including 5 children) to celebrate my 70th birthday. My wife booked it several weeks before but there was a slight hic-up when she phoned to add two people to be told the booking was for a different Sunday. However it was sorted out and rescheduled for and earlier time for that day. Because we were larger than 10 in our party, you have to book for all 3 courses but its reduced for children. They had a large table prepared and service was quick and professional. The main course we had carvery (veg option also available) and the meat was tender and moist, good selection of vegetables and roast potatoes were perfect. With 2 bottles of wine and other drinks, beers and spirits, the bill came to under £20 per person. Selection of starters and sweets were good too. There were lots of different sized groups there ranging from couple to larger groups.

Belgique Café and Patisserie in Epping is a delightful spot that brings a European café vibe to the heart of Essex. Known for its stylish interiors and a welcoming ambiance, it’s a great place to enjoy a coffee or treat after a walk or day out. The patisserie selection is visually stunning, with vibrant colors and meticulous presentation that makes every dessert a feast for the eyes. However, despite the impressive display, there’s one noticeable drawback: the sweetness level. While the pastries look amazing, some of them are overwhelmingly sweet, to the point that it becomes a bit much, especially if you’re not a fan of sugary treats. This high sugar content can feel a bit indulgent, almost too much so. It would be fantastic if Belgique offered a range of semi-sweet or less sugary options to cater to those who prefer a more balanced taste. A reduction in sugar could elevate the flavors of the ingredients, allowing the natural tastes to shine through without overpowering them. The café offers an extensive drink menu, from lattes to fresh juices, which pairs well with the patisserie. The staff are friendly and attentive, and service is generally prompt. Belgique is popular among locals, and it can get busy, especially on weekends, so it might be worth planning ahead if you prefer a quieter setting. In summary, Belgique Café and Patisserie is a wonderful place for a sweet treat and coffee, but a touch more variety in sugar levels would make the experience even better for those who like their desserts less sweet.

Appalling service that spoilt an evening. Visited here as the venue for a summer ball for the friends of a school. Bar staff were shocking, rude and incompetent. Food was appalling and verging on inedible. Bar ran out of wine during our event and had a poor selection of other drinks with bar staff that didn’t even know the rudimentary facts about drinks they had. Avoid at all costs - will NEVER go back
