Nando's - Basildon in Basildon

We came into Nandos this evening and was greated by a lovely waitor, he took us to our table and made sure we had everything and was very friendly. His name was Alfie, he was amazing, he is a great asset to the company.

Me and my dad had a great time, the diet cola syrup ran out when I was pouring my drink so it tasted weird and this lovely blonde young lady with a ponytail gave me a bottle of diet cola to make up for it, the food was phenomenal as usual, and this kind lady at the end checked up on us. All the workers were so sweet and caring. I just wanted to review as I hope this lady on the 1/04/24 at 8:30pm gets some recognition.

QR code wasn’t working so couldn’t use voucher. Wasn’t told at the entrance. Got told “nothing they can do about it” and the table was more unstable then my last relationship

Way over priced for what you get. Massively gone down hill, you can tell they are trying to give the bare minimum whilst trying to charge more. Won't be going again, food isn't great, service is below average and atmosphere is very dim. Save your money and go elsewhere

My husband, myself and four friends had a meal with drinks before going to Cineworld. The service was really good but the food was totally tasteless and would not recommend

I went to Nandos with 10 SEN students today and they were excellent. Staff were really accommodating! Food was quick to arrive and everyone had a lovely, relaxed time. Thank you team for a great experience.

My friend and I had a really nice meal yesterday at this restaurant but the best thing was the excellent help given by Sarah one of the staff there. It was my first visit to a Nando's and I was asking about the 'spicy' aspect to the food and how to choose the best items for me on the menu. She was just incredibly helpful, friendly but very professional too.

Food was delicious made by the absolutely wonderful Natalie! service was great would defo recommend. Natalie is the best:)

Waited 35 mins to be seated which I had no problem with, then once seated and eating a staff member was bending over next to us to cuddle and talk to her friends I found this quite rude and unprofessional as I was trying to eat and just had some woman’s bum in my face and the gap between the table is about 50cm, when ordering the woman who was serving us also decided to walk of half way through my order and start laughing with other staff members

Visited this outlet while working away and can honestly say the best food I’ve had from a Nando’s yet. I had the Garlic Churrasco burger, rainbow slaw and fries and it was really good. The service was pleasant, with a smile and not a hint of trying to rush you out. Only downside was that it could do with a refit as it looked a little tired.

Visited on 2nd January, quite busy. Food was decent and reasonably priced as always but cleaning was poor- women's toilet was so bad my wife refused to use it and went to cinema. Also drinks area messy and clearly not being cleaned.

As a native South African I have a basis of comparison. The chicken livers (starter portion) was delicious but could do with a little more sauce. Nonetheless the food was delicious. The peri peri burger was fantastic and the Nando’s chips are great.

Nandos like any other, nothing to write home about. Only thing that stands out is shocking service when ordering take away. It's a weekly thing for me and 1/2 of the orders are incomplete or cold.

Went to collect my order and was sat at the waiting area for a 10 minutes trying to get one of the workers attention. I gentleman came in to pick up his order and was sat behind me. One of the worker came straight away to assist the gentleman, she actually walked past me, as if I don't even exist!! I had to call out to her and ask if I was invisible? She then asked for my order number and aggressively handed over the food to me. I do not like to use the race card, however, it's just sad to see how differently a black person is treated compared to a white person. I sat there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged and soon as the white man entered, he was approached and I was overlooked. This upsets me so much that in this day and age people are still being so silly!! Unacceptable.

Never been before so was really pleased with the food as it was delicious and chicken was perfect as you'd expect. Staff was pleasant etc however i do feel table service is a must in a place like this and not having to scan a barcode or walk up to the counter to order and pay for food. Other than that, nice place.

Chicken wings the worst I’ve ever had in Nando’s! All mushy like they had been stewed. Complained but they couldn’t give a dam. I won’t be returning

Always top service when you go here staff always on point even when it’s super busy always trying to give you a good service no matter the condition! All the staff always super helpful and friendly, managers always super helpful

Food is ok in Nando’s but always feels overpriced to me for what you actually get, a fast food chicken burger. The place was busy and the staff were OK, but the place seemed like it needed a really good clean and a little bit of TLC.

Overpriced and dry Relaying on table sauces u can now buy in supermarkets and enjoy at home much cheaper

Went to the Nando's branch in Thurrock. The service was disgusting. We were seated across the kitchen where you could see the food and how it gets handled. The manageress dressed in a jeans and pink shirt assisted the staff in the kitchen which I thought was a good example until she shoved her fingers into the mash potato to feel if it is hot and then put it on a plate. To crown it all she used her hands to push her hair back and wipe her sweat then continued to put her one hand over the brocolli and put it on a plate too. How can this happen. That food went out to customers. To say the least my burger was upside down and before it reached me it was handled in a very unhygenic manager, the salad was all over the plate as one of the girls slapped it back on the plate. I addressed it with the staff member who brought our food to the table and I told him to make sure that he convey the message to his manageress, that I have seen it all. What a disgrace...they think it is a joke. The whispers and eyes on me was very apparent but no apologies...they are shameless. Should I let the video go viral.

Served by the most attentive hostess Amy nothing was to much trouble for her. Busy store however Amy showed extreme proffesionalism and made sure that my experience was what mattered. Excellent customer service 👏

Had a lovely meal in Nando’s Basildon festival leisure. Best Nando’s we’ve had! Also thanks to the lovely team there who made sure we were okay, gave recommendations and also paid attention to our little girl. It’s the little things that make a difference!

Far too many flies near the windows

My friend found a bug in her salad, she is vegetarian. The customer service was terrible when greeted at the door, unwelcoming and unenthusiastic, ruined the mood.

Been there this week. Was on a business trip to UK and decided to go to Nando for the first time. Guy showed me the table, gave the menu, asked how will I pay (card or cash), any allergies and left. Only after 45 minutes a girl asked if everything is okay. Told her that I’m waiting for the waiter to get my order. She told me I have to order on my own at the desk. Would be nice if the guy would told me that at the beginning… wouldn’t wait for 45 minutes… He saw me sitting there on my own and didn’t bother to come and ask if all good. Food was ok.

We had an amazing experience today. My daughter is autistic and finds new restaurants hard but the manager lani went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable, she was very patient and this has now become my daughters new favourite restaurant. She has an amazing attitude towards all people and children. Definitely will be returning and hopefully we have lani again 🙂 Was such a brilliant experience. Thank you x

My wine was rancid/fizzy and tasted of chemicals. I had another and it tasted the same, so it was obviously a problem with the batch/storage. Our meals were cold/disappointing in comparison to normal high standards. The fizzy drinks were flat. Things were missing from my husbands meal and we all felt unwell after. I wrote a complaint to head office who said they would look into it, but I never heard back. Would never return to this branch, but love Nando’s in general.

Not much room to sit comfortably, needs to be bigger!

Can take a while to get seated and for food to arrive (not the restaurants fault as its in a busy leisure park, but it's not perfect so have to Dock a point). Additionally, sometimes things aren't on the app able to be ordered which can be made if you ask at the til - for example, garlic bread couldn't be added on the app (it wasn't even visible) but the servers at the til could manually do it. Not a huge problem, but given everything is going towards ordering at the table, it makes queues in the restaurant or people not able to get what they want.

Meh, expensive chicken and chips! Dirty drinks area and sticky tables.

Lovely lunchtime table for two, great first taste of the Nando's brand. Maria was a fabulous and helpful server / waitress. Great friendly service with a smile, just what you need on wet Monday lunchtime.

Went for dinner yesterday. The chicken was as hard as a rock and very small (double) portions and like warm. The burger had one piece of lettuce in. The pitta had soggy, disgusting coleslaw. They seemed to be concerned with deliveries more than restaurant users. The rice was cooked and dried to oblivion. The spicy chips, we're chucked on the plate with the spice splattered on top of them, in a lump. We weren't asked if the food was OK, no wonder, as it so obviously wasn't. Totally underwhelmed and will not be returning.

Food was nice. We had a voucher card but was told it was invalid/out of date. Upon checking when we got home it wasn't. Only went there because of voucher too

after going through the menu husband went and got cutlery. Meal came to us quickly but the chips were luke warm and the chicken was dry and cold. Obviously not cooked from fresh. salt came in a pot .no shaker. For what we paid not worth the money will not be going back again.

This is a Nandos, so you know what you are getting, but I just wanted to say how well the manager dealt with a recent "supply issue" which meant that we couldn't have exactly what we wanted. He was so genuine and professional that it made us feel like extremely valued customers. Anyway, my partner had the "Fino Pitta" instead, which, as I have always mansplained to her, is the best thing on the menu. If you haven't tried it you really should.

The food was great although I ordered as part of a group and they forgot my meal. They claimed they were waiting for my sides to have been cooked but I could see the food sitting there waiting to be collected for 5 minutes.

I did not like the "rainbow" salad....it was coleslaw without mayo but smothered in grains. Very small quantity for the price. My son left his, I ate mine because I was hungry. The pitta bread chicken was ok though. When I asked for cutlery our young female server pointed and told me "its over there!" Baring in mind I had witnessed her & a colleague standing in front of the food rack chatting away while many plates waited to go to tables. We were not familiar with the self-service & would have taken her only a moment to get them. Glasses were given to us to get our own drinks and the food was brought over. Not been to Nandos before and won't be rushing to return. A "Do it yourself" restaurant that is over priced imo.

My first visit, and was okay. Didn't think the quality of the chicken was great.

All family enjoyed it. but I found music TOO loud.

Very busy and loud but taste like any other nandoes, so it's fine. I'd recommend the near Tesco in Basildon as it isn't as busy or loud.

Great location at the Basildon Festival Park and next to the Cineworld cinema. So popular that you often have to wait for a table. Staff efficient . Food is always good with a good range of combinations.

Amazing customer service. Went here with a friend and we were seated in the centre of the restaurant at a 2 person table. I told the server I struggle to eat around noise and he was so accommodating. Sitting us in a corner and coming over to check whether the seating was ok and the noise low enough for me to have my meal comfortably. The food was hot and delicious. Very accommodating to my needs and nothing was too much. Well done to the team at this restaurant. Went above and beyond.

My experience at this nandos wasn't the best. We ordered using the QR code and did so in separate transactions. I never usually have a problem using this as its a quick and efficient way of getting food. What I couldn't explain is how I was the last to order and got my order first, and my two friends orders hadn't come until we were asked by a member of staff, if we had received our order. I feel the main problem though wasn't about the length of time it took to get the order, it was that the hygiene standards were not being practiced, as I found a hair in the cream for the cake I ordered. It's a bit disappointing as I usually don't have any issues with coming here.

Can't really ever go wrong with a Nandos. This is the sunset burger and it was my first time having it. Delicious burger and would highly recommend it.

We were given our sharing starter for 3 people with only 2 lots of cutlery, with no plates when I asked for the 3rd lot and some plates the girl looked like she was going to cry at the thought of doing some work. I asked for some salt as as you can see it came it a plastic pot as they didn't have any actual salt shakers. Nothing to do with covid because they have the bottled condiments out being used. Lunch arrived again no cutlery, and when I did ask the girl did however point out that we had cutlery which was the dirty lot from the starters... not sure why were would be expected to use dirty cutlery, maybe Its just me expecting to much wanting to eat with a clean knife & fork. It used to be that you got your own which was clearly much easier for the staff then walking it over to customers who had the audacity to want to eat with clean cutlery. The whole experience isn't one I'd want to endure ever again at this Nando's. Dirty restaurant, floors were filthy & expected to eat with dirty cutlery all for the cost of nearly £60 and ignorant waitresses.

6of us, 4 adults & two children, had a meal here after some bowling we all agreed it was very nice. Ordering was by app but service quick with polite helpful staff Only disappointment was that one of the grandchildren wanted the bottomless frozen yogurt machine but it was out of order.

Staff working there were lovely.

I mean, it’s Nandos. You know what you’re getting. Great service, was fast on this occasion but can be slower when it’s busy, which is understandable.

Bad services! Waiting 30 minutes and nobody take our orders, most important when you have a toddler with you.
