Excellent service, very kind hospitality from staff and food was delicious. Definitely the best Nepalese cuisine I’ve had in the area, would recommend it to those who would like to try a new cuisine

The most delicious dinner with a friendly and welcoming service! We came here this evening with our two friends all the way from Kathmandu who were very much missing Nepalese Daal baat and delicious Nepalese food. I must say we were not at all disappointed, the food was very flavoursome, fresh and most of all authentic. We would absolutely recommend coming here ☺️thank you very much for having us!!

Gosh, what can I say? Every time that I have had a takeaway from Namaste Ghurka it has exceeded expectations. Once again, absolutely great food and it makes living in Blandford more than well worth living! THANK YOU - BRILLIANT!

This is purely a complaint on delivery. Not eaten the food yet. Driver put my food on floor and walked off before I got to door. From him ringing to me answering was no more than 25 seconds. Don’t ever do that again!!

Do you like sub-par food, do you enjoy being ignored by the staff and do you like waiting over a hour for a simple curry? Then this is the place for you. Kitchen prioritises takeaways so you’ll be waiting for a fortnight before you’re even given a popadom. Food was so bland I might have well as just chewed on the furniture. Save yourself a trip and just get a ping meal from Tesco instead. (Nan bread was nice)

All I can suggest is that these reviews are written for the wrong restaurant or by the owners family and friends. The ambience was dire, the service was non existent, the food was god damn awful. Don’t ruin your evening, stay at home and eat cereal.

First visit to the area and saw the previous reviews for this restaurant which were positive. We were not disappointed. Lovely food and good service. Tried the dumplings as a starter (rather than my usual choice of onion bhaji) and they were delicious.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant and having takeaways from this restaurant for years the food has always been amazing . However last week takeaways was appalling I ordered at 3pm and asked requested the time slot of 1830 . 1830 came and went checked the app and said it was out for delivery. At 1900 I called the restaurant to find out where our order was to be told it was out for delivary and should be with us soon . I totally understand on busy evenings there can be a delay in getting food out for takeaway . At 1925 I called the restaurant again as still no food had arrived to be told again it was out for delivary . I was now concerned the food would be cold as nearly an hour ago . Food did arrive whilst I was in the phone to the restaurant and further down hill did the experience go . The food was lukewarm warm and had to be put back in the oven to make it hot . Manager did say if food was cold he would give a refund however we were so hungry and waited and hour for it and didn’t want to order again that warming it up in oven was all we could do . It get worse my food was ok we all ordered curry’s all with 1 chilli next to the discretion my husband and friend could barely eat there as it was so hot spice and heat wise and it was not enjoyable . Will never eat or have takeaway from here again

We are tourists and we had a meal here this evening. Everything was absolutely delicious. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to eat.

Me and my friends came here while passing through Blandford. The food here was great, such a variety of options. My favourite would be the Momos, bhindi and the Pani Puri. Would love to have proper Nepali curry with the pork belly and curry on the bone as an option. (even just one dish) but the chefs cook up such a good meal. NEGATIVES : The service was terrible, we had a young girl that was terrible at taking orders, forgot to bring our drinks for 20-25 mins. (there was only 1 more person in the restraunt) She would just leave our plates (no idea how to do table service, didn't bother to ask if we wanted any more drinks through the whole night so we had to get up and ask, spent most of her time on her phone or the guys behind the counters phone. To busy having a Conversation with the other young guy behind the counter. Asked her a question about the food she just stood there laughing and umming and arguing. If I'm coming to spend my money and eat, I feel like the least that could be done is having someone with a standard of table service. This for me is why I probablly won't return.

We’ve come on holiday and was looking for a local Indian to try. We used this place and oh my god it was BANGING !! Best Indian I’ve ever had! The peshwari naan was beautiful! We all tried a curry we had never had before because the menu wasn’t a standard Indian menu. All really really enjoyed our curries. The only downfall was the menu and not having your usual curries (to know what heat to go by) I’m a madras girl and I couldn’t see it on the menu so I chose Gurkha curry which is very very close to a madras. My partner had the Everest one nd was on the loo for a hour after but said he would do it all over again because it was lovely ! Delivery bloke was really polite and chatty too which was nice. Will be ordering again when next down !

Just had a really nice takeaway from here chow mein dish was one of the best I’ve had the rice was nice. I had two curries one I preferred more than the other but it was lovely. Will definitely be going back again.

Ordered a delivery at just before - we were told it would be an hour. At 8:25 we were told it had just left and would be 20 mins. When we questioned why as we are 5 mins away - the story changed to it was being packed. Finally arrived after over 2 hours!! King Prawn curry - what a joke, a few shrimp - more sauce than anything else. Very very disappointing 😡

The meal delivered took 65mins..it was warm..the order was wrong..and it was £26....disgusting we deserve better..but we never get it ...

We were on a short break near Blandford and booked dinner here because we love Nepalese food and recent reviews were very positive. However our experience was pretty poor. We were shown to a table in a crowded room upstairs with no atmosphere. The staff were lovely but not well trained and the food did not come anywhere near our expectations. All in all not a great experience and, to be honest, we couldn't wait to leave.

A firm favourite for a takeaway, visited the restaurant for the first time last week and the food was brilliant as always, service was good and with a bill at less than £110 for 4 people including wine and beer 🙌🏻

Four hungry walkers ate here and were very happy we did. Great food and Gurkha beer too. Have the Starters. Some peachey stuff there. Mains super too.

Ordered a recommended by the accommodation providers when we were staying nearby. We ordered on the app and were able to select a time. Nothing stated that it may be after that which It was by half an hour. We waited 1.5 hours total for a delivery and it was mediocre food. Tasty but not particularly warm and when using the app be warned it tells your the stages before they are relevant causing alarm bells when it pings saying delivery complete and you don't have your food.

Tip top! Loved it, downstairs is tiny with 4 tables I think but the upstairs is massive. The food was great, if you're like me and don't like heat the stick at 1 chillie 😱 although the menu says they can adjust any dish to suit your taste. I'll definitely be going back 👍

My family, along with another, had the pleasure of dining at Namaste Ghurka this past Saturday night, an experience that left us all with a profound sense of satisfaction and delight. Comprising 4 adults & 4 teens, our diverse group found common ground in the exceptional meal we shared, which my husband-a discerning foodie w a hearty appetite-described as the best he's had in a v long time. He was still talking about it the following evening at dinner. The ambiance of the restaurant added significance to our enjoyment with the ceilings adorned with prayer flags creating an atmosphere that was both inviting and spiritually uplifting. The philosophy seems to be centered around providing food that not only satisfies the palate but also nourishes the soul. A very relaxed and authentic place.

Fantastic food..... sometimes a bit of a wait but the food is that good it's worth it.

Got a take away and the food was incredible! Very tasty, filling and good value.

Have not eaten in, but a staple for us when wanting a solid take away. All the dishes we have ordered are great, will ask for more spice next time, however. Momos to die for. Must try.

Amazing Nepalese food , really original twist on Northern Indian style sweet and spicy curry. Great service, very friendly and accommodating as we never had a booking. They also allowed us to bring in the dog! Definitely recommended

Good restaurant to support the locals. Building is simple and characteristic, although needs some updating. Staff are still young so don't expect world class service, but good effort nonetheless. Food is great, reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Plenty of vegetation options as well.

Fantastic food, brilliant service and most importantly amazing people

We cannot wait to come back to Namaste Gurkha and we couldn’t recommend it enough. What a brilliantly authentic restaurant/take away, where you really feel you’re getting a slice of proper Gurkha cuisine. We were blown away by the food (see photos for what we ordered). We had never eaten here or Gurkhan before, and the hostess recommended what we should try. The atmosphere was lovely, very quiet, incense lit, and a in a small high street house. The service was fab, waited a good amount of time before checking on food, bringing next courses. And they gave us some takeaway trays to take home our food. We will 100% be going back, as we love Dorset and this will be a firm favourite for dining out.

Went for dinner on a Sunday evening. Restaurant had a nice aesthetic and relaxing vibe. The food was lovely and a good sized portion. Staff were friendly, but quite slow to tend our table even though it was rather quiet.

As a large group of 13 we tried the largest, most central Indian restaurant in Blandford who were quite rude on the phone and not willing to take our business. We decided to try the Namaste Ghurka and they couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful. Although small, the service, food and surroundings were excellent and value for money was exceptional!! I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more and this will be our new “go to” in Blandford.

Nice little restaurant serving principally Nepalese cuisine. Staff a mixture of people who want to stay in the background and a server who didn't know much about the food: "Not my realm". Taped music which might be nice for relaxation but just goes on and on.

We turned up without a booking and the young staff allowed us to have a table upstairs in the back room. The order was taken and drinks brought to us but the food was rather slow and at one point we thought that we had been forgotten. Although it gave us time to relax and chat for around an hour. However, the food was worth the wait and everything was delicious. After we had finished it was quite late and as we were staying at the Crown Hotel in town we just walked back and went to bed. We were pleasantly surprised at how cheap the meal and drinks were. We paid around £36.00 for the lot which was such good value. I will definitely visit here the next time I am in the Blandford forum area.

Nice food, albeit some luke warm on arrival. Presumably due to the 20 min delay which made the total wait time 2hrs. If they can’t keep up with demand and service, perhaps reduce the time slots provided on the app. 2hr wait for a takeaway just isn’t great.

Stop reading through the reviews and just go to the restaurant, you won't regret it.

Have been using the takeaway/delivery device for a number of years. Yesterday phoned in order. Told 45mins. Phoned them back after an hour as no food. Heard guy in background telling girl on phone to lie to me. Not happy. Food finally arrived 1.5hrs after order. Not good. Will never use them again

Gauravaśālī! Absolutely bloody glorious! Had chicken c-momos, chicken Gurkha curry and pilau rice. Ate the lot (and a few pieces of mate's naan bread) but am particularly uncomfortably full now! If you're on the fence about giving this place a try, stop being a drama queen and get in here! You won't regret it!

The food was well cooked and presented. Young waiting staff totally disinterested. Too busy on mobiles to even carry out a check back.

I'm sitting here writing this as I'm eating last nights food reheated. All I can say is wow ! I'm so happy I found this little gem in Blandford, the food is so light flavoursome and delicious. very very good food and I highly recommend. Delivery was fast for a Friday night and the delivery guy was extremely pleasant and polite. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed!

Very tasty food in Blandford Forum. We visited for an early dinner on a rainy midweek night between Christmas and New Years, and although the dining area was quiet, the place was buzzing with takeaway orders. Our starters of pani puri and special mixed kebabs were excellent, and the mains of the prawn achhari and pork curry were very good, albeit milder than we expected. One oddity was the cucumber raita that we ordered that arrived without any cucumbers and was extremely sweet (more like a sweet lassi served in a bowl), so we had to return that and it was taken off our bill at the end. All in all, this place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, or fancy a takeaway.

Not the first visit to this amazing restaurant, the food was phenomenal. Unfortunately the staff were disinterested and spent the time chatting to their friends at the bar and subsequently there was limited/no service.

Since moving to the area this is the third meal of quality. Deliveries and collections have been more or less to time and always in a friendly fashion. Not expensive and more than adequate portion size. also feel that the menu choice has individuality rather than the tired range of jalfrezi, bhuna .... , dishes. Certainly makes me want to return to try out another option.

This just took too long. We ordered at 5.50pm and didn't get our food until 8.05pm. It said it would be ready at 7.20pm. I thought that would be the delivery time but no, we had another 45 minutes wait when we live about 8 mins from the restaurant. The lamb was very tough but the rest of the food was pretty nice. The ordering was good and it was great that credit cards are accepted but 2hrs 15 mins is just too long to wait for us to be likely to order again.

As a former member of the Brigade of Gurkhas, I know a really good Nepalese curry, and this is definitely the place to find one! We were staying in Blandfor forum en route to catch a ferry from Poole next day, and this restaurant made for a wonderful start to our holiday. The sukuti was perfectly done, with just the right amount of heat and the perfect texture. Difficult to find this so authentically done! We chose several starters and curries, plus sides and drinks all round including a large ‘Gurkha’ beer for me, and the bill was £48, which I call outstanding value. Staff we delightful and friendly, service was swift, and the chef came to talk to us in person and tailored some dishes to cater for my childrens’ allergies. I would massively recommend this excellent restaurant - I could imagine myself back in Kathmandu or Pokhara. We’ll be back!

Very good prices and glorious food packed full of flavours from Nepal, Thailand, and other Asian influences. All wrapped up in service from the loveliest of waiters. An absolute must for any visitor to the town or even Dorset to be honest. Perfect. Will return...

Delicious food and great value! The chilled water on arrival was a nice welcome touch, as was the complimentary dips served with the poppadoms. If I was a local I would definitely be a regular.

We went mid week with a cousin. Couldn't fault the service or food, definitely the best Gurka I've been to and the best in Blandford by a mile.

Would have given five stars had it not been for the very long wait between starter and main course. (We were part of a large group so that may have had something to do with it) Apart from that, the food is excellent and will definitely eat there again.
