Nags Head in Lichfield

First time here for lunch thoroughly enjoyed it didn't want anything to big so had 2 starters the belly pork delicious as were the Korean chicken tenders also delicious. Hubby had chicken blt good portion size plenty of fries service good will be returning.

A lovely place for a meal. Child and dog friendly roo which is a bonus!

I had the trio Sunday roast. My partner had the chicken pie. Both meals were excellent and very tasty. I had the trio dessert. I highly recommend this dessert. Great food and wonderful friendly service.

After having a walk over Gentleshaw Common we called in for a drink & some food. Lovely place. Couldn't fault the food or the service. Will definitely be visiting again!

Came for Christmas day this year, I thought the whole process of booking online was excellent and you can tell some extra thought had gone into it this year. The service was excellent and the food was super considering the volume of customers. Really well done on the whole booking system and massive thank you to the staff that gave up there Christmas day.

What a difference! Came here a few years ago and was dreadful... gave it a go recently as was passing, must have had a change if management/ownership. Highly recommend! Great food, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, take clubcard vouchers which brings down cost considerably, plenty of parking outside.

We were in the marquee and the choice was not very good ,I had the turkey which was nice but the rest eg, potatoes, veg, ect was not very nice at all roaster were not roasted hardly and veg was a little slimey very cheap ingredients

Come here quite a bit with family, most recently for the breakfast with Santa. Fantastic staff as always, great food.

I enjoyed the pint and the atmosphere and the company.I must emphasise we didn't try the food so cannot comment on that.It was quite cosy by the fire even though the embers were dying down.This is obviously a very old pub with a rich history.

We came for dinner this afternoon as was our daughters 5th birthday, Beautiful Sunday roast and a very helpful waitress who went above and beyond, red haired lady unfortunatley didn't get her name.

We just had a Sunday roast here, absolutely beautiful, cooked to perfection. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, thanks so much team we will be back!

This Sundays lunch was as good as ever. Have been coming here for the last 32 years as a local & have never seen it ran so well as it is at the moment. Thanks to all the team & especially Ray who makes all the difference & always gives you a warm friendly welcome. Mr & Mrs Cooper

I have had my faith restored I visited nags head this evening and what a difference my experience this evening was great ray and Kerry on shift lovely welcome and menu full availability what a difference from my last visit, Ihad roast beef dinner which was lovely

Ray the manager and all staff go beyond and above their job to ensure everything is prefect I wanted the pancake stack they Ray asked the chef if he would do one for me , thank you Ray and thank you chef, it was beautiful, can not thank you all enough ,food is amazing, staff always very polite and helpful I wouldn't go anywhere else for a lovely meal one the nags head Thank you all for making our visit memorable xxxx See u all again in about 3 weeks xxxx

Came here after covid and thought it wasn't as good as it used to be. Thought we would try it again and can say it was really good. The venison was particularly nice. Back to how it used to be.

Wonderful place to visit for a family meal. Lovely food topped off with great ales and atmosphere.

Each visit it has been different, i think ive noticed the busier it is, the service drops off, times run on and the food isnt upto the higher standard ive had there. Always ring ahead as it can get quite busy. I keep visiting as the good ones out-weigh the not so good. Has a car park, rather large pot hole or 2 so be careful. Nice pub, has kerb appeal as well as interior.. worth the visit.

Pleasant atmosphere, food served nicely and hot. Little bit experimental with some dishes but on the whole nice food, (pea shoots on the cheesecake)!!!

Lovely meal not too much wait between servings . Waitresses are very friendly nothing too much trouble . Would definitely recommend.

First time nags head,, my workplace had their Xmas meal in December 2022, food was delicious, very quiet only 3 diners in, lady serving was really lovely, prices were good, definitely come again, maybe different time when more people there.

We should have realised it wasn't going to be a good experience when on being seated we noticed a dirty fork with dried food on it, on pointing it out to a staff member it was changed with no apology at all. Our starters were not the best, on the menu soup with a wedge of bloomer bread arrived with half a slice of the thinest bread I have ever seen almost see through I had to ask for more bread and stated it should be a wedge of bloomer bread and not what was on the plate, another one of our starters creamy mushrooms must have only had 2 chopped up cremated mushrooms in it, going into the mains we all had various roasts, once again items missing from what was on the menu, when this was pointed out we were told they had run out of said item and again no apology, the beef on 2 of the roast dinners was so tough you could have soled the bottom of your shoes with it, totally unedable. Not once did any of the staff come and ask if our meals were okay. Needless to say we will not be going back there again in my opinion £101 for 4 people for 2 course and only 3 drinks for what was served to us is outrageous!!

I photographed a wedding here recently and the staff were wonderful, making sure we were catered for and looked after! I've also visited many times with family and Ray is always happy to chat and makes sure everything is perfect! Never had a problem with food but can be tricky to get a table sometimes as this is understandably a very popular pub

Very helpful and cheerful staff

Walked in to the friendliest of welcomes, served quickly, all staff were lovely. Good food choice which was tasty and plentiful. Took our dog, who was treated better than we were, with a puppy station at the entrance with dog treats, bowls and blankets available. Highly recommend this place.

Lovely little pub. Called in on a Friday lunch time. Had been riding my motorbike all morning in the sun. Just pulled in and had a couple of ice cold cokes. Sat outside in the sunshine. Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat there but judging by the amount of people eating I'd say it was good.

We hired out the Function Room for a wake and the staff were very helpful, the buffet was generous and the food was very good - recommend the pork pies and the chips!

Had my partners 60th birthday party in the function room on 30th June. What a fantastic evening 😊 Stacey decorated the room and it looked fabulous. DJ excellent. The buffet was amazing - gorgeous food and plenty xx in fact a friend who lives in Wolverhampton said they are coming back for a meal they were so impressed. Really friendly and helpful staff xx Perfect evening so thank you Stacey and The Nags Head 🤩

Always a great experience. The food is absolutely outstanding, lovely setting. The staff are really friendly and always feel welcome. Make sure to reserve a table for dinner in advance as it does get filled up quite quickly and they don’t always accept walk ins.

Sad to hear the owner is going to another pub soon... Hopefully standards remain the same as it's one of my favourites

We went to the nags on the spur of the moment without a booking and the staff did there very best to get us a table. The food was excellent and service was perfect.

Disgusting. I’ve never been offered grey mash before and never want it again. We asked the manager who said he had the best chef in Burntwood. Wow. It takes a lot of skill to put frozen mash in the microwave and turn it in a grey dollop on a plate. Service is slow and we had to remind them to deliver drinks etc - the manager said that our party of 9 should have preordered so that they could serve us. Never again.

Last minute decision to go out for evening meal and drinks with the current wife. So glad we did as the service from Kerry and Frank was very attentive and we did not have to wait any length of time when ordering or asking questions. The food, both starters and mains were exquisite and could not be faulted. The Ribeye steak I had was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was to die for. My partner had the mixed grill and again was amazing. Our deserts and drinks were handled by a lady called Lorna who is a credit to this pub it has to be said. A special mention for Ray a mainstay of this pub we are told, his knowledge of the ales served inspired me to reach outside of my comfort zone, great to discover new ales! In conclusion we have no issue at all in recommending The Nags Head and we are both counting down the days until we go again. Thank you to all the staff.

Stacey, Mary and the team made our sons christening in the function room the absolute best day!! Service was amazing from them, from the point of booking all the way through to the end of the day itself. The balloons were astonishing and the small details they added just made the biggest impact! The food was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble, communication was prompt and clear. All of our guests commented on the room, decor and balloons so I’m sure they will get many more bookings! Cannot wait for the next reason for a party, no where else we will go!! Thank you guys!!!!

Visit here regularly the food is amazing and the staff are so friendly, and go above and beyond to accommodate me and my family, especially my youngest son who has additional needs letting him play in there function room if quiet enough. Can’t wait for our next family meal.

We found 3 small pieces of meat in our pie. Two or which were grisly so unfortunately won't be returning.

Best Sunday Dinner I’ve had in a long time.

Came to the nags last night and noticed they were holding a big charity event. Lovely atmosphere and think what they did was amazing . Such a warm welcoming environment and has such a family feel when you walk in. Food was lovely and service was to match. I heard a couple complaining regarding sitting in the bar drinking with a dog and it’s shame that the staff have to deal with things like this while busy and trying to give great service . Hats off to the team

There were 6 of us including one child. We had meals from the Sunday menue and 4 of us had dessert. All the food was delicious except for the pasta and meatballs off the kids menu which was dried up and hard. The staff were excellent and quickly changed it to fish fingers and chips. Prices were average for Sunday meal.

What a shame was great service 12 months ago but was a shambles now .

This has became our local for a coffee on a weekly basis & the staff are so warm & friendly...Food is also very good i would totally recommend this pub also dog friendly with blankets..treats etc.

Visited here in January on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the chicken ciabatta BLT, butternut squash flatbread and halloumi fries. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. We also had the chai sponge cake which was great too. Staff were helpful and attentive. Thank you to all the team. Looking forward returning.

Absolutely excellent breakfast with Santa today. The food was beautiful, the activities and entertainment was fantastic. Truly a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit

Absolutely fabulous lunch with friends today. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful -one of my friends has celiac disease and so has to avoid gluten. The manager offered substitutions so that she could have a similar fixed price meal option to the rest of us. Entertainment was also fab with carols & Christmas tunes at a reasonable volume level so we could still chat ( or sing along). Cannot praise this pub enough, it really made our day. We will certainly be back.

Booked a table of 12 for my daughters 18th birthday, our first time here based on recommendations from others. The booking process was easy and straightforward. Popped into the pub 3 days beforehand with list of menu choices so presumed we would eat quite quickly after arriving,everyone was sat down and ready with drinks for 5pm so was disappointing to not get our food until 6:15pm. Overall the food was lovely apart from the roast beef dinners where the beef was extremely rare and bloody. You would expect it from a rare steak but not a beef roast dinner,nobody wanted to comment to the waitress because we had already waited over an hour.All of the other meals were lovely. After everyone had finished we asked for our puddings and requested the child with us got hers first. Puddings started to come out even though mains plates were still on table,we asked 3 different members of staff could the 4 year old please get her ice-cream and everyone else's came out and her basic 3 scoops of ice cream was last! Overall it was a nice family meal but the slowness of the service was a let down plus the beef dinners not the best. Not sure if any of us would return which is a shame because it seems a really nice place.
