N P Barrett in Broadland

Chips were good but we were overcharged. What I ordered should cost (according to the new owners price list) £16. Which I must say was a lot more than old owners charged. But they charged us £20. I did question this and was told it was correct. Chips were very nice just so expensive. Don't think we will be going back to our previous favourite 😔

This fish & chip shop has been around for quite a while. The Original Mr Barretts long retired but its good to see he passed it on to a couple that shared his passion f quality and service. Its a simple Take Away but easily one of the top 5 in Norwich. Food is usually very well cooked and decently portioned. Overall I highly recommend if your in the area and fancy some good honest Fish & Chips!

Realmente amable tomando el pedido por teléfono, encantadora masa y papas fritas. Mi primera visita, pero volveré. Me estaba quedando en Holiday Inn y no estaban preparando comida, así que esto fue un poco complicado.

Superb fish n chips cooked fresh to order, spot on every time, love them! Staff are really friendly and chatty too. Brilliant!

Had rock fish it looked nothing like rock fish it smelt like sardines and it was not white in colour like it should be could not eat any of it, the chips where limp and soggy not even coloured.

but very good all the same - you have to order your fish which is the norm these days but the day I went they were so slow. I told them what I wanted and they forgot so had to ask again. Was out that way so decided to try them and apart from the long wait it was worth it.

Generous portions of fresh fish and chips and fantastic taste. Very friendly staff and good value for money. Would not use any other chippy in the area and am looking forward to tomorrow night.......

A lovely local chippy. Be aware you need to tell them what you want when you arrive as they cook to order.

Have only started going here recently. Really lovely fish and chips, sometimes I have the fish bites which are cooked while you wait, they are delicious. Great people behind the counter.

This fish & chip shop is no longer run by Barrett but the new owners are friendly & helpful with fresh fish like it use to be and all cooked to order.

stopped at the chip shop to order 3 large chips nothing else bar chips and had a 25 minute wait as none were ready. this was 6pm in the evening (tea time for most people) and had no chips available (well 2 portions in the hatch and NONE cooking) their full contnts that were fully cooked was 1 fishcake, 2 large sausage 2 small sausage, 1 pie, 1 burger and dont forget the 2 small chips. At the time there was 1 person in front of me and 6 come in after me and kid you not they cooked 5 large cod before my chips were ready. When asked what i was waiting for i was told thats a whole bucket of chips and would take 10 mins.......25 mins later they arrived! i even explained to the owner that 6pm on an evening with still 2 hours trading left there is a high probability that people will be coming in for chips so my advice is instead of living off the 2 small chips sitting in the hatch be cooking more to keep the hatch running. 3 portions of chips 25 mins wait this is A DISGRACE

The best chippie in norwich. Used for a long time nowand never had a bad experience. Never use any other chip shop when at home.

Disgusting hard, uncooked chips with the skin on! Cod overcooked and so thinly sliced as to be ludicrously sparse! Batter soaked in oil - fish cold and obviously lying around for hours! Inedible! Pancake roll cold! Inedible. Appalling. Inedible. Rip-off. How dare this place dish...

We normally use another local Chip shop but today at my wifes suggestion we used Barretts. Noel Barrett the past owner and master fryer would have a fit if he know what rubbish was dished up under his name. Chips undercooked, batter soft not crisp...

we always get our fish and chips from here.the fish is always cooked just right,as are the chips.my partner usually has plaice and reckons she has not had better plaice anywhere else.there is pies,sauages and all the usual things you can get from a chippy...

We regularly visit this chip shop and everything is always really nicely cooked and good value. There is always a warm welcome as well.

Have been going to this place for a long time, is better than it ever was even doing a 1/2 portion of cod & chips which is perfect for me. well worth a visit

We have been using this takeaway for over five years since moving to the area. Never been disappointed excellent fish and chips, the couple who run this takeaway are always friendly.
