My Thai in Leeds

Had a great experience at this Thai restaurant! The food quality and taste were excellent — truly authentic and full of flavor. Every dish felt worth every penny we spent. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommend booking a table in advance, as it can get quite busy. Definitely a must-visit for Thai food lovers!

I went here this evening for the first time and could not fault it at all. The waitress / manager was so friendly and welcoming. The service was really efficient and the food was delicious. Really well priced and good portions. I can definitely recommend this place. Will definitely return when we are in Leeds again.

We went to My Thai at 26 York Pl, Leeds LS1 2EY for lunch today. The male waiter at this restaurant displayed racial discrimination. He treated us differently and unfairly. He was particularly attentive to British customers, but when we arrived, he made us wait. Even though we requested to order first, he told us to wait and instead served others first, including handling takeout orders, processing payments, and taking orders from other British customers. After finishing with the British customers, I asked again, but he told me to continue waiting. I pointed out that we had requested to order first, but he claimed that the other table had arrived earlier. Even if that were true, does it mean we must wait indefinitely if that table hasn’t decided what to order? Is that reasonable? Moreover, the waiter himself is Thai, yet he discriminated against us, who are also Asian. Is that justifiable?

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Been going for years and it’s my favourite restaurant EVER! The staff are soooo lovely, the food is outstanding and last night was no exception. In fact I would say it was the best we have had there and that’s saying something. We had the sharing platter for two and everything on there was yummy it included satay chicken, pork wantons, corn cakes, spring rolls, fish cakes and the star on the plate for me was the ever so lightly battered and very crispy king prawn. My parter had the chicken yellow curry with jasmine rice and I had the Gra Paw Moo Sub with a fried egg on top with jasmine rice. I did ask to have the chilli level down one as two chilli dishes for me are a little too hot and they didn’t disappoint. Oh my word! Amazing! This is a little gem of a restaurant and one that I like to keep a secret all to myself but I just had to write a review after last night. It’s situated on York place down some steep steps and once in the staff greet you politely and are very attentive. I have never had bad or even mediocre service here nor have I ever had a bad or mediocre food. From me this restaurant comes more than highly recommended. But don’t tell too many people or I won’t be able to book in next time!!! X

It's a little basement spot, but it's super cosy and always packed. The delicious Thai food and the lively atmosphere make it feel really authentic. I recommend booking for lunch to avoid disappointment. They offer takeaway service too.

Wow, what a place. Was looking for a nice restaurant in Leeds and chose this based on it's high score and see why. Firstly, the service is amazing. The food was just delicious. Best satay chicken ever, proper thick satay sauce. The rest was also delicious, the pad Thai dishes and great portion sizes.

Service and atmosphere was warm and friendly but the Pad Thai was overly sweet and mushy which ruined the dish. The Tom Yum soup also lacked any of the flavours you might expect like lemon grass, Kaffir lime and galangal to name a few. A very cheap knockout and again overly sweet.

Great place great atmosphere but ok food and very expensive

Ordered through phone on 30th Oct for take away. Food ordered was chicken satay, corn cake, Pad Ped and chicken Massaman curry. I was charged £26 while when I saw online it was £24.50. I picked up the takeaway and the person at the reception did mention the price is as per online. This is really wrong information. Got home and tried the curry too sweet not sure what has been added. Tried the corn cake not cooked well and raw. I really am disappointed and don't think the York place my Thai is really with the money. Never had to write such a comment for any other food restaurant.

They forgot my 2x jasmine rice which made meal and experience bad. Curry tasted nice but won’t be ordering from here again. It isn’t hard to double check orders before handing over to your Uber driver.

Ordered via Uber Eats but the restaurant completely missed out on an item. Ridiculously disappointing. Portion for everything ordered was also disappointing for the money paid. Not worth it. Would not order again.

Popped in here for a bite to eat and was warmly greeted and shown to a table. Service was quick and efficient and the food tasted amazing. Would highly recommend.

A quaint little restaurant in Leeds not far from the train station. We didn’t have a booking but were accommodated by the friendly staff who just requested we were finished before a large booking arrived. The service was very prompt and the food cooked fresh in the open kitchen and delivered piping hot. A good selection of food and drinks on the menu. Authentic Thai flavours in everything we ordered, the portion sizes are smaller than some other Thai restaurants in Leeds but the quality and taste are worth it. We would certainly return if we were at that end of the city again.

All very good, I had the belly pork and it was very good we were a party of eight and they fed us all well, everyone was very happy. service good except we booked online and they weren't expecting our reservation so a little bit of hassle at the start and they couldn't hold the table for us for too long.

Very nice and authentic Thai restaurant. From you walk in the door you hear and see its run by Thai and lots of Thai guests. We had 6 starters and 2 mains and all was lovely and spicy when it was supposed to be spicy.

Small restaurant hidden in a building basement. I started with a sea food tom yum soup which was more sweat then sea foody but was still good and tasteful. The duck curry for the main was still on the sweet side but was en explosive of flavours and the meat was tender and delightful. The service was very good and friendly and prices were very decent.

The food was absolutely brilliant, certainly in the top two places I've eaten Thai food. The service matched the food, woth helpful and friendly staff answering all the questions my group threw at them. The atmosphere was intimate but relaxed. I don't live anywhere near Leeds but I'll certainly be going back to this place.

This is a great Thai place! The food was great, the service was fast and the atmosphere was perfect. Keep in mind that it is a small place, so you might want to get a reservation before visiting. The food is amazing, the portions are large! I highly recommend

Great evening out at My Thai, lovely restaurant and would recommend the Tamarind Duck, I'm reliably informed the massaman curry and pad Thai were very good too! Thank you.

You can't beat a good Thai (that probally doesn't sound right and violence is wrong, anyway we digress). Went in with a mixed group after watching the Rugby (England won, yay, whoops digressed again). Fortunately some of the others had spent less time having refreshment while watching the oval ball and took charge. We ordered a few starters to share, I think it included some spare ribs, but equally I could be wrong. Whatever they were I can definitely remember they were good. Main course I'm pretty sure (I think) that I had a beef pad Thai, no, I definitely did have one, i must have been reasonably with it as I used chop sticks. Anyway as they say, you didn't want to know that, what you do want to know is was it any good, and, yes it was. So in summary: very good service, very good food, and at very competitive prices (can't say cheap as that has negative connotations, so we will stick to great value for money). Will defo go back again, probally with the family and have some more. Just found out it is a chain restaurant, which it definitely didn't come accross as.

Wow, what a gem! Absolutely exquisite food and drink (I had veg red curry and a glass of the Sauvignon Blanc), and really appreciated the generous portion of good quality vegetables and tofu in the dish. It’s a really really cute atmosphere and super helpful staff (really attentive and kindly even unplugged their own phone so I could charge mine with their cable!) And very reasonably priced too. I’ll be a loyal customer from now on!

The food was excellent. I recommend trying the sample platter as a starter as you can taste a bit of everything (spring roll, chicken satay, fish cake, pork dumpling, mieng kum, crispy prawns, and a corn cake). As a main, I ordered a pad Thai and I was also very happy. I would definitely come back!

Wonderful hidden gem of Leeds. Great authentic food, hospitality and atmosphere. Plus their lunch menu was very reasonably priced - especially important at the moment! Fully recommend and we will be back when in Leeds on business in the near future!

Good food! Not the best Thai I’ve had, but still pretty good. The corn cakes that we had were a bit too oily when served. They’re quite accommodating of vegans too.

I can't fault this great little restaurant. With three friends I visited without a reservation on a busy pre-christmas Saturday evening, and they made a space for us, and served up some delicious food. I enjoyed one of the best Thai green curries I've ever eaten. We didn't outstay out welcome, but the food and hospitality were very much appreciated, thank you guys!

Best Thai in town with good prices and decent portions

I am so disappointed by my second visit to My Thai and don’t understand the 4.7 rating at all. My pad gra paw (pork, beans, chilli, holy basil) was covered in sickly sweet, highly processed oyster sauce and had added palm sugar causing it to lose all the fresh and spicy flavours from the holy basil and chilli. The other main dish I tried - crispy chicken with chilli and garlic - was also sweet and tasted like a bad version of Chinese sweet and sour chicken. I eat a fair bit of Thai food in Leeds and I am sorry to say this was the worst I’ve had in a long while! Have given 3-stars rather than 1 or 2 because they at least switched my main to a chicken green curry which I thought would be a safe bet (it was average). Having said that, they charged me for the original, completely inedible gra paw dish rather than the cheaper green curry which I thought wasn’t great customer service on principle but I accepted it. For authentic, great value thai food, I’ll be sticking with Thai a Roy Dee for dinner and Khao Gaeng Thai for lunch!

An excellent small restaurant with delicious food and attentive service. I took a work party of 15 here and they did an excellent job of serving everyone quickly. We even arrived before opening time and they allowed us to dine early.

Fairly small, downstairs and cosy place - recommend booking!! Staff were great. Mixed starter big between two and although a number of deep fried items all was tasty, soft and not greasy. Mains were OK but lacking some different Thai tastes (Beef Pad Num Prik Pao - too salty & Pad Thai - prawns were big but tasteless, likely frozen).

Visited this amazing restaurant on a Friday night without a booking but the owner managed to squeeze us in. This restaurant serves some of the best Thai food in Leeds! The Massaman Curry was delicious, and the Khao Soi was great. The staff were attentive and patient, given such a busy service, and the atmosphere was bustling. I'd recommend booking, but if not give them a ring and I'm sure they'll squeeze you in!

Deeeeelicious! Good service we hadn't booked but arrived soon after opening and were able to get a table. The place soon filled up, despite this quick service and really good food.

Really lovely local Thai restaurant with yummy food!

This is a very small restaurant in the basement of one of the buildings along the road. Down a narrow staircase from the street. The restaurant is cosy and was busy when we arrived. The food was very tasty and well prepared and presented. Service was quick and welcoming. Definitely worth overcoming the external impression to go in.

Been here for 5 years. In 2019 food was great and the taste of the food is getting lower. Please focus on the taste of the food.

Been here a few times now and it is fantastic. Great options for lunch and evening, food is packed with flavour, good portion sizes too. Waitresses are really friendly and food is served quickly. Tamarind duck has become a personal favourite, the pork dumplings and fish cakes for starters also have a personal recommendation.

The team that set up my thai have gone from strength to strength for a really good reason- the team are as delightful as the food! Some of the chains become greedy but not here. The quality of the food and portion sizes haven’t decreased since the opening months. Well done this small business and the hard working staff that make it authentic and joyous to eat here and at the other branches they operate
