Overcrowded and chaotic - I should have known. Opening my box of vegetarian arrabiata pasta even I got back to my office, I was faced with beef mince. Brilliant. No time to get back to My Pasta Bar. I know, I should have checked. But I shouldn't have to. This area is full of good places to get lunch - don't go here.

We found this pasta bar by chance while on a visit to London and popped in for a coffee ..the lunches looked nice so we decided to call back after our shopping to sample the menu ..the staff were so friendly and remembered us when we called back for lunch ..While we were deciding what to order they told us that after a certain time the food is reduced ..so we has a lovely meal and dessert for half the price .

I've been here for lunch and it was really nice. Good food and friendly service. The one that served me was Italian so +1 for that. Great value for money and the espresso was strong! Grazie Gino!

This is just round the corner from my office so I was interested to try it. I went for the radiatore pasta with gorgonzola and chicken, with extra broccoli. The good: the host at the til is cheery and lovely, a really lovely guy. The pasta itself was fresh and perfectly al dente and a very big portion. The bad: my food was so salty I simply couldn't eat more than half. At first I thought there was no sauce at all but actually it was just very thin and coated the pasta quite well. The first few bites were delicious but then I struggled due to an overwhelming salty flavour. I thought it might be the blue cheese itself but actually think the pasta must be cooked in heavily salted water; especially as a colleague said hers was the same last week with a different sauce. Only five very small 'squares' of chicken and three small florets of broccoli. I won't be going back which is a shame as I like to support small places like this - trouble is when they are only offering a handful of dishes they need to exemplary.

Breakfast deal at the moment gives you a free coffee with any breakfast item so very good value. Coffee is ok too. Also tried lunch and pasta , sauce with a drink good value at£5,50. Pasta and sauce were OK. Served with a smile as well. Another coffee / lunch option to add to my list of non multi national outlets.

Como fanático de las pastas que soy, puedo decir que las que comí en este lugar están bastante sobre la media de los lugares que fui. Las recomiendo totalmente, son muy ricas y a buen precio.

I visited Da Gino without having read the reviews and I was surprised when seeing all these terrible reviews. I'm Italian and I love to eat and cook, so I can say for sure that I know how pasta should taste. The price was really reasonable taking into account that there was also a free drink included and that my pasta had several shrimps in it (keep in mind that frozen shrimps at Tesco cost £3.50). It might be that I chose pasta with pesto and shrimps and it is difficult to get it wrong, or it might be that in the last year staff was retrained, but I would never define the pasta I have eaten as terrible. The box was very full, there was plenty of Parmesan on top, the pasta wasn't overcooked and the sauce was tasty. The only thing was that the pesto sauce was more liquid than what it should have been. It's a place I would actually come back to buy lunch. And by the way, to whoever says that the Gorgonzola and chicken pasta was not as good as it was supposed to be or similar, I want to let you know that Gorgonzola and chicken pasta is not supposed to exist. It is not Italian and hopefully it will never be.

Came here today for some lunch after visiting the Sky Garden. Hadn't read any reviews so open minded. Enjoyed excellent freshly made pizzas sitting in the sunshine. Queued to order perhaps 5 minutes and waited 15 for pizza to be served. We weren't in any hurry and our waiter was charming and friendly. Pizza was hot, crispy and delicious. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone looking for a good pizza in an interesting setting . 2 large pizzas and 2 lemon sodas cost £16. Bit bewildered by all the bad reviews.

Maze to get in here. No waiting area. Customers are served a lot quicker at the tills then they are with their food. I ordered the mac and cheese al forno and garlic bread with cheese. I waited 15 minutes (which may not seem too long but is for lunch in the city), then walked 3 minutes to my office to eat. The pasta was cold. The garlic bread was stale and burnt with very little cheese on it. Whilst I was waiting for my food another customer asked for a refund as the staff used the same tongs for his vegetarian food as they did for a meat dish. I am also vegetarian and was slightly concerned, however thought of it as a one off. However when I was eating my pasta I found a small piece of meat in it. The service was slow, the food terrible and overpriced for what it was. I won't be going back here again.

I have lunch here every now and again on my lunch break, it is ashame there is no indoor seating or i would have eaten here more often, not just in good weather as i enjoy the food. I enjoy the pasta and sauces, plus the cheesy garlic bread is pretty good. I usually have the pomodoro. However, I do feel that the quality and the little touches are slipping and cheapening, probably due to profits and margins? I visited last week, service as friendly as usual. But i found the parmesan was put straight onto my pasta instead of giving me a sachet like previously... The amount of cheese was minuscule to what it usually was, it was pointless. Also two little tiny leaves of basil, no where near as much as there should be, it felt cheap. The pasta portion was big enough but these details are letting it down, especially with so much competition in the city, such as the one near canon street i also go to. Please don't let things cheaped further!

Despite the horrible reviews on here and Google, I had a good time with my parents. Considering they're Italian and very hard to please, they were satisfied and agreed with me that it was good value for money: Panini and drink for £4!?The choice was ample, even though the salami was out of stock (my favourite, it costed you one star) Good job Gino's team.

I have been here for lunch twice - the first time, nearly a year ago, I really enjoyed the pasta with meatballs but found the portion small and quite expensive considering. Today I ordered the same dish, cheaper price (£5.50) and larger portion - so that's great. Unfortunately, it's not quite as tasty as I remember. Certainly not as good as I would expect from Gino D'acampo. That said, it is still yummy comfort food and they're offering a free drink with all pasta (and some other) meals through March!Service was fine - there's always a queue and a bit of a wait for your food here but their system works well so if you expect to wait a bit (I think I waited about 10 minutes at 1.30pm) it's ok.

I've visited previously and enjoyed my pasta so thought I'd head here again. Ordered at 12.50 and there were a few people waiting (about 8) but they'd all already ordered so it didn't look too bad. Nobody advised me of any wait for my food. 15 minutes later I had my pasta. One of the people waiting was from Deliveroo and left with about 20 portions of pasta so I assume this is why I had to wait so long.I had the gorgonzola chicken, it was ok. Just chicken and pasta with very little sauce, and a few green things dotted around that didn't really taste of much.I had about 4 pieces of chicken and I was still hungry after my lunch. The pasta was £5.50 so one of the pricier menu dishes.I probably wouldn't return - there is so much choice around Leadenhall Market and there are better pasta places nearby.Sorry Gino.

I'm another that regrets not reading reviews before going. I was craving pasta for lunch so thought I'd give the carbonara a go. Pasta was chewy and congealed and carbonara sauce? what carbonara sauce? looks like a bit of cheese had been melted on top with an odd piece of ham thrown in. Small portion size given the price but given how it tasted probably not a bad thing ;-) I also bought come canoli - I didn't fair any better with this - possibly overcooked tasteless. Not good. In short, if you like Italian food / pasta then avoid this place. I wish I'd gone to Sainsbury and picked up a ready meal!!

Really wished I'd read the reviews before I went here.Awful carbonara - the pasta was chewy and the sauce was completely plastic. It had absolutely no flavour and very little pancetta. And considerably more expensive at £6.50 than many of the local competitors.Salads looked wilted and ridiculously overpriced.Won't ever be returning.

Goodness me, the pasta was not cooked properly, i asked for extra chilis, there were two slices in the whole thing. More expensive than rivals, and possibly one of the worst penne arrabiata's i've ever experienced. The portion size was about 60% of what i was expecting. Looks like i'll be heading back out to get some more lunch to fill my stomach in a minute. Pathetic.Hey it's a modern looking food place, great! But the food is terrrrrrible.

This is the worst lunch I have ever had!!! The portion was tiny, it had very little pancetta in it, the sauce was dreadful and for £6.50 I expect either a small portion of excellent food or a large portion of stodge, this was neither. Don't waste your money

Purchased lunch today salmon & fettuccine. The worst pasta ever! There was hardly any salmon in the dish, the peas came from a tin, the pasta was doughy and over cooked. The sauce, what there was of it tasted like bechamel. Will not be rushing back here. Over rated and over priced.

I used to be a frequent customer at the Leadenhall Market branch. Despite some hit and miss options e.g. the worst, most sloppy Lasagne I have ever been served and tasteless arancini (rice balls) that had been sitting in the hot cabinet too long, the pasta box at £4.95 wasn't out of keeping with prices in the area and if the box was reasonably full it was okay - nothing more than okay. However, a recently rejigged menu i.e. repriced menu and the installation of a manageress has resulted in an absurd price hike of 25% so a small box of pasta, mine was perhaps a third full, and a dribble of sauce now costs an absurd £6.50. I was told that the reason for a 25% price hike is that they are now serving fresh pasta. Well, I make my own pasta too and it is both easy and cheap so that excuse doesn't cut with me and who asked them for fresh pasta anyway? Besides, the portion I received tasted of dough and typically it crushed in the box as fresh pasta would so it was barely edible. All in all it's bad move by D'acampo and a negative eating experience. I won't be going back and suggest you give this particular eaterie a very wide berth. There is plenty of choice in the area so save your £6.50 for something else.

Buena d coration

We stopped here before heading to the theatre on our day out in London. Food was lovely and reasonable priced. Staff were lovely but service was a bit slow. Overall we all enjoyed our food and visit and would definitely go again and recommend.
