Estancia bien claro. Clasificación es realmente un cero!

Although the staff is very nice and friendly, the food is terrible and the prices they charge are absolutely atrocious, it's a rip off pure and simple.

We had a great time. Our first choice restaurant had lost our order and we were late for the theatre. This place saved us, they rushed around and served us really quickly with lovely friendly staff who were quirky, honest and up-front. £12.50 for the West End? Come on that's not bad. Go Bistro Italiano!

We popped into here for an 'express' pre theatre meal before seeing the Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre. The food looked reasonable value on the menu outside but we should have realised something wasn't right as the place was empty. Unfortunately hadn't seen the reviews but have to agree with them whole heartly as this was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The food was terrible - the pizza's we had were just really really cheap frozen pizza's warmed through. The pasta was again the cheap dried variety with cheap sauce over the top. To say what the meal cost us was expecting something decent. The drinks were very expensive. Don't know how they get away with it. My advice is don't go there.

Quite simply the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I was charged £12.50 for cod and chips and it is the first time I have ever, on being asked how we were enjoying our meal, stated that I expected a lot better if I am being asked to pay that amount for a meal. My perception of the restaurant is they have little or no interest in providing a pleasurable food experience. They are simply taking advantage of their position and proximity to Convent Garden and the surrounding theatre's to take advantage of tourists and visitors alike on the basis that whilst we will never return to the establishment there are an infinite number of people passing through London who will not have the experience of hindsight. I do plan writing to both the restaurant and Westminster Council directly to express my disappointment but recognise I will have to chalk this one down to experience and hope others read this review and avoid the experience we had.

Well, in this restaurant they manage to screw up even the most simple of all pizza's. What more can I say? West End area, so all customers want to eat before the show starts. But that should be no excuse to sell poor quality food. The airco is programmed at freezing, so you will leave ASAP to vacate your table for yet another victim....

I have to say that I did not read previous reviews on this restaurant so I think we were lucky to have had a better experience than most, our lunches of one pasta meal from the specials menu and a bacon salad which looked and tasted fresh, the sweet of tiramisu was really good as was the chocolate fudge cake, service was attentive and friendly, I suppose the bill was average for somewhere in the west end of London the downside is the rest rooms which are in a poor condition they definitely need refurbishment.

Like other reviewers, we were looking for a pre-theatre meal and this was the only place without a queue. Think about that. We got the same patter about not selling anything white but Pino Grigio by the glass and ordered it, but it was undrinkable, not chilled enough and tasted as if the bottle had been opened a week. I had a green salad (supermarket bag, no doubt, with a lemon wedge and a few bits of parmesan, tomato and cucumber, with a supermarket dressing). My partner had pasta Arabbiata, the sauce looking like remarkably like something from a jar. I asked for bread with my salad, and got a small toasted roll. My partner paid the bill without checking and we found we'd been charged £32 for this awful meal. 1 course each and undrinkable wine. Shocking. Most Italian restaurants I've been to are run by people who care about food and want to please. But I suppose you can get away with this standard if you don't rely on repeat business.

Unfortunately we hadn't read the Trip Advisor reviews of this restaurant otherwise we would have avoided it like the plague! We were in the Covent Garden area looking for a pre theatre meal and as we had been searching for somewhere to eat before going to the theatre with little success we were pleased to be able to get a table in this restaurant. Oh dear what a mistake we were shown to tiny table and offered a drink to start with, this was a glass of Spanish red wine, which was not particularly good and very over priced at £6.50. a glass, this turned out to be the "best" part of the meal! We were not very hungry so chose pasta dishes, I had penne pasta with "homemade" tomato sauce which was horrible, the pasta was dry and overcooked and the sauce was in edible, it was extremely bitter and was certainly NOT home made. I asked for some Parmesan hoping to make it more palatable but it was like sprinkling sawdust on it. After a few mouthfuls I gave up, my husband had the same thing with four small pieces of card board chicken on the top!!!! The bill for this awfulness was £37.00. We were not the only people in the restaurant who were unhappy, there were mutterings all around us about how bad it was. Don't waste your money going here.

Went into this restaurant, as we could not get in any where else for a pre-theatre meal. What a mistake. My friend's ordered starters; garlic dough balls and a selection of breads. When the starters arrived, the dough balls was a flat bread with garlic butter and the selection of bread was poor quality ciabatta. We assumed the selection of bread, was one slice was more stale than the other. When enquired to the order of the dough balls, the waiter replied, "the flat bread was made from dough balls". How do you respond to that? After a long wait the mains arrived to the table. One main was meat balls in a tomatoe sauce with rice. This was a large plate of rice and 3 meat balls in a sauce. Not very appetising. My friend left the meat balls, as these were full of gristle. The other main was a bowl of pasta with cream/mushroom sauce. Again, the meal did not look appestising, with minimal topping.I had ordered chicken pizza and got a calzone. The waiter said he will change the meal, in which I replied, forget it, we do not have time. To my surprise even after saying forget it, the pizza arrived at the table in 5 minutes. To be fair the pizza was average, though I was charged for the calzone. We did not have time to dispute.Service and food quality very poor. I am appalled such businesses can exist. I suppose based on the foot fall in London, restaurants can get away with conning the public.

I recently popped into this errr restaurant lol before attending the Duchess Theatre which is directly next door to see my mate perform with the RSC. Let's begin:THE ISSUE WITH THE WINE - whilst deciding what to eat from the extensive and somewhat confusing menu's I asked for a small glass of chardonnay. The waitress went to get my drink but returned about 5 mins later to inform me that they did not sell chardonnay by the glass - the menu said they did. I was given an alternative of Pinot Grigio which was fine. She returned with a large glass. I explained I wanted a small glass to which she stated we only do this in the large glass - the menu stated otherwise. I let this pass as I was thirsty anyway. THE STARTER - I had Calamari. I am more than sure they sourced this food from Farm Foods or Iceland as it was cheap, overcooked and the "salad garnish" was cabbage - yes cabbage - no sign of lettuce, tomato or anything you would you would generally associate with salad unless it was served with a kebab. It was like chewing on a durex.THE MAIN - Carbonnara hhmmmmm! On arrival I tried to establish what it was and if it contained any pasta or meat. It did........ after digging through the lump of sauce that was covering the rest of the dish. I could have wallpapered my staircase with the sauce. Whilst trying to excavate the nicer parts of my dish from the sauce two senior ladies entered the restaurant, who like myself was having a pre theatre meal. They ordered two halfs of shandy and a fish supper between them. Whilst at the bar two staff members, one of them the female who was serving me - slouched over the bar counter calling the two ladies of in Itallian over the sharing of their food.At one point I wanted to tell the ladies what was being said but I refrained as it would have spolied their night out.I tried to order another glass of wine - the girl served me black pepper as she was clearly more concerned with mocking the ladies. If it had of been my gran they were calling I would have ht the roof. I tried again to order a glass of wine which clearly annoyed the waitress. She slammed the wine on my table and muttered a reference often used in hospitals when getting an injection (small p***k) in Itallian to which I responded back to her in Itallian............she could not have been any nicer after that.I cut my losses with regards to dessert - the waitress would have thrown it at meIn general, avoid this hole full stop. Poor, slow service, overpriced cheap processed food passed off as homemade, and ignorant staff who enjoy calling customers in their native tongue. If the Duchess Theatre has any sense they will aquire this restaurant and turn it into a successful, friendly business.

Went for a pre theatre meal, Friday the 27th April. We ordered a bottle of red wine which was reasonably priced and ok, I would say a good house wine though but not at house wine price. We ordered a basket of bread, our expectation was that would be some nice olive or other speciality bread with maybe olive oil to dip. It was 3 warmed rolls, the sort that you can buy from ASDA, part baked and heated through on site. That was the best part of the meal. We ordered a pasta dish, it consisted of overcooked dried pasta not fresh pasta though it was so overcooked it didnt matter if it had started dry or fresh. A tomato sauce which was no more than a tin of diced tomatoes heat up and a few chunks of diced chicken, again the sort of cooked chicken that you can buy at Asda. Neither of us could eat the meal, the tomato sauce was too bitter. I think that this restaurent is dependent on its location beside severl theatres, once you eat there you definately wont want to go back. The cost was on a par with a decent Italian Restaurent.

Ordered grilled salmon which was hard, dry and much of it inedible, the salad with it was tired and was smothered it a factory made dressing and the green beans were tired, not cooked from fresh. It was certainly not fresh fish, I suspect it had been frozen five minutes earlier, maybe cooked too long to defrost it, who knows? This is so close to the theatres and being a Londoner, I was sad that some unsuspecting visitors to London might consider it to be typical cooking.

We went for dinner on Sat 26th November. Location is very convenient for pre-theatre dinner if you are going to the few theatres nearby (we went to see 'Crazy for you'). There were two waitresses outside the restaurant trying to attract customers. They showed us the menu and they claimed that a two course dinner will cost £10.95 per person. We decided to go in. We were placed at a small table upstairs, which is a tiny room. There was no intimacy whatsoever, with other tables only a few inches from us.Food was served very quickly and it wasn't the best. Very small portions and you could see that it had been cooked long before we arrived and then re-heated. I was brought my plate several minutes before my partner's. The waiters tried to take our plates away before we were finished a couple of times. They were very anxious to get us out of there! In the end they tried to charge us more than the promised £10.95 and on top of all they charged us £8 for a glass of house wine! What a disgrace. We will never be back.

I have always been a huge fan of Eataly in London and New York, and have eaten there several times! This visit was awful! From the girl at front of house who was so miserable, like she couldn’t be bothered, her first words to us were “you’ve got two hours”, not a great welcome, to the bland, disappointing food and rushed wait staff! We went for an early Father’s Day lunch but won’t be returning which is a shame as we’ve always enjoyed it before.
