The worst CARBONARA If I can call it like this, I've ever had. Gino talks about how the recipes shouldn't be changed when cooking Italian food but then this is what he serves in his restaurants. I also went to Camden one for dinner and we spent 100£. Polenta without salt. Pizza, chestnut cake and coffee were good. But this take away one on Fleet Street definitely ruined my lunch. Chicken Gorgonzola looks exactly the same like Carbonara, it has never seen Gorgonzola cheese with just a couple of cheap chicken pieces. In Carbonara no meat, only two pieces of fat, no egg and pasta is literally swimming in the cream. Meatballs too, no tomato and the meat was grey. Pasta shape always the same theres no way to chose and they don't even ask. Tasteless and awful. Plus stuff looks like zombies. The guy who calls when pasta is ready and the manager very kind. After today, Ill never go back. Guido's on Chancery is much much much better. At least carbonara is made with egg.

Went to Gino’s for lunch today. Ordered the king prawn risotto and it was the worst I’ve ever had. How they’re allowed to serve it like they did is baffling. It very oily full of butter and far too salty. I won’t be eating there again and wouldn’t recommend that anyone else does either.

Being in the wine trade I have the pleasure of meeting many people across the city and tasting the wonderful food this city has to offer! (Its a tough job). I popped in to My Pasta Bar on Fleet street and got sucked in. Its so good to see a casual dining/fast food concept that focusses on home made pasta. With so called Italian concepts around every corner, its particularly difficult to find good pasta in London. And as a half Italian, I take my pasta Half Seriously! So when I popped in here to be greeted by Chris Green Ops manager, who had one eye in the kitchen, coaching chefs, but who was also whizzing around delivering table service for guests, its clear to see why its such a popular spot. I had the meatball pasta. The pasta was not over cooked, and the tomato sauce was not too watery and had ripe/rich flavour. Very reasonable for the price point. A fair amount of meatballs served, and chris even bought some Chilli over, just to add to the pasta. A very very slick Tavola Calda concept, which is a great example of doing the basics well! I went for my lunch break last week, food and service were good. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the girl who served us was very smiley. I will definitely go back.

I found it very good between the price I paid and the quantity and quality I got in return. If you want something quick and decent I recommend it.

In search of a quick snack before lunch Gino’s pasta bar seemed to fit the bill although at only 12.30pm the two risotti were unavailable (had they even been available?) leaving a choice of either pizza or one of two pasta albeit with a wide choice of sauce. I joined one of two queues and after a wait of about 5-10 minutes got to the front of the queue to not to realise the lady server only seemed to be handing out orders for collection not actually taking any orders. When I asked her why she was not taking orders she seemed unable to understand what I was saying before her male colleague pointed me to the end of the other queue. I asked why both servers were not taking orders but got no response so decided to leave. Should be a prominent notice advising: order and queue to the right; collect from the left. A chaotic and disorganised place.

I had a Fusili Arabiata.Pasta had a strange texture.Sauce on that occasion contained too much garlic and not enough chillies.Over all it was ok.Portions are very generous,and good value for money I guess.It was less then 6£ with bottle of water. Garlic bread was delicious.

For our quick lunch break we chose to dine at the Gino’s where we were served with a restaurant quality food within 5 minutes for much less. I have always been fond of Gino’s work and this Bar definitely speaks for its owner and for a truly authentic Italian experience. The staff were very helpful and looked relaxed and didn’t feel like a bother to go over the menu with us to make sure we were happy. In the end we were served with large portions of pasta and a risotto, which tasted wonderful and fresh. Shame we were too full to try some pudding and coffee but we were simply too full on this occasion. Fantastic!

Visited spontaneously on a day trip in the city. As an Italian, I had high hopes for this pasta bar and wasn't let down. It's well priced for london and they give you big pasta portions. I would recommend the gnocchi bolognese. The staff are Italian which adds to the authenticity. The best part was the £1 espresso which is probably the best I've tried outside of Italy (and I try a lot). There's a little seating area too but food is served in to-go boxes for your convenience. This place has wide doors and is wheelchair accessible. Also appropriate for all ages.

I ordered a mozzarella panini with a new member of staff there and they messed up my order. I had to wait a good 15 minutes to get my order and I was panicking because I had to attend an interview in half an hour! The panini there is low average, very comparable to the panini I get at Costa or Eat if not worse. It didn’t have much taste and the tomatoes were of a light orange colour rather than red!

Superior to other fast food outlets. So superior to those horrible places such as KFC, McDonald’s and Subway but not much more expensive. Enjoyed the pizza. This is basically a city fast food place selling food above fast food average so recommend for what it is. It’s nothing special but that would be missing the point.
