The best butteries since Aitkens closed As north east exiles we visit about 4 times a year to the north east corner. Naturally we stock up on butteries and mealie puddings which are either not available or vastly inferior anywhere else I challenge the last reviewer to find a better rowie than Murdoch Allan. Unless the bakery were having a rare off day the last reviewer was either deranged or from Kent …or both

I went in there as a treat for my Hubby, He just fancied a bacon roll and a cappuccino I ordered them and we went and stopped a short distance away to eat them, I must say it was the worst bacon roll we have had, I know it was just before lunch but the bacon was so tough and dried up it was unbelievable, and although i ordered 2 cappuccino's what I got was flat white, so i did pop back to exchange the coffee but was amazed when one of assistants came out and stopped me from parking outside, what a joke, I'm sorry but we will not be going back

Amazing The quality of food is great but more importantly is the staff who got out of there way to assist. The stovies is out of this world, chicken pies are the best in the NE for sure. Well worth a visit

Every bakery in the area makes their own distinct version and it’s a personal taste which one you prefer, since the demise of Atkin’s Bakery, Murdoch Allan is the only one that comes close to that unique taste. Check them out, they will take online orders and do home deliveries and they keep well in the freezer. Very satisfied customer. J.Y.

Worst butteries in the north east, they should be ashamed they are turning out such disgusting examples of this fine local treat.

We usually go here for food to take away. There is a really good selection of soup, sandwiches and hot pies of all kinds. You can also choose from hot meals such as Stovies, Macaroni Cheese, Mince& Tatties, Curry or Sweet & Sour Chicken etc. I believe the meals would vary sometimes. We chose to eat in last time and I had lovely meaty Stovies with beetroot and oatcakes, and my husband had Mince & Tatties. We took cakes home with us, as a treat for later. The prices are very reasonable and the portions generous, and the shop is well worth a visit.

I go in past here when I'm looking for a takeaway . The staff are very friendly and very efficient. Try to avoid school lunchtime tho . Food mostly cooked as you wait if it isn't ready. Wide and varied menu . Very good value . There's seating if you want to sit in . Breakfast served all day is very large as my favourite. A great takeaway 😊😀😀

I find it hard to walk or drive past this bakery/cafe. The staff are always pleasant, and the place is always clean. There is a pleasant seating area for a light bite or a coffee and bun, all of which are good. But the best thing on the menu is their bacon rolls. I was never a huge bacon roll person but something mysterious happens to me when I pass the Murdoch Allen bakers and think about bacon rolls. I don't know where they get their bacon, or what high quality diet those porkers are feeding on but OH! they are delicious. I have returned as one hypnotised and they are always the same - mouth wateringly good. I'm glad I don't live in Turriff because I would probably be in there every day living off bacon rolls and eventually turn into one. I guess there are worse ways to go.... yum.

Worst chipper I have ever had! Haddock supper and sausage supper for my wife was ordered. We had to throw it out after eating a few mouthfuls. Grease laden and completely tasteless! Same they are so horrible and using the Ashvale branding. The one in town is a much higher standard. I was charged £15 just to throw it in the bin 5 minutes after purchasing. Waste of money and time.
