Mumbai Spice Express in Nottingham

Service is very poor. Ordered food via Just Eat and after an hour waiting, they don't even answer their phone to let us know how long our food is going to be. On Just Eat app, says its still cooking from the time we ordered. Not a good place to order food

Ordered via Just Eat! Nearly £80 worth of food, recieved a text after waiting for over an hour saying driver was struggling to find us. Called the restaurant as instructed to be told they had cancelled our order as they didn't have a driver tonight. App still says its out for delivery. Poor

Will never return after receiving the wrong pizza again every time we think try again were disappointed now we will never have food from there again

Wow. I put in a very strange order but the team accommodated me fully. They even threw in a freebie. Delivery was very quick too. Up there with the best curry delivery I've ever had. Thanks, Tom

Lamb in Jalfrezi tasted not fresh very soft tho. Ordered a mild got a bland. Vindaloo was ok. Cheese naan very good. Dips taste like they weren't keped in the fridge. Next time ordering from my usual from Trent lane

Finally an Indian takeaway that actually put tikka meat in your curry when you ask for it. Top notch.

I ordered a curry tonight, didnt show up. If you want to order curry, suggest you don't order from this place, as it won't arrive.

Missing naan breads. Poppadoms we’re not cooked properly. Rice was cold. Restaurant would not pick up despite multiple calls.

Placed my order at 9.30pm should of arrived at 10:20pm. I called them at 10:30 for them to tell me it’s on the way. I waited and waited till 11:32pm for them to say they’ll check where it is and then for Deliveroo to say my order arrived when it never did. I wouldn’t recommend ordering from this place. I’ve never tried it and thought I would just for me to get robbed! Ps..I will be letting everyone know, so I will be sharing

The food was an hour late and cold. The chicken was rubbery, the paneer pakora was hard and we ordered poppadoms and dips but the dips never arrived. The lime pickle was swimming in the pot. I tried telephoning twice but nobody answered. The food went in the bin.

Usually order from this place and it usually is tasty but the Rogan josh I received today was very bland, no flavour at all very disappointed after spending £30 on 2 meals.

Took 1hr 45mins to arrive...this place has really gone down hill, this was my go to curry house... food is bland and oily, aldi curry in a tin taste better ... whats happened In the past year?? I won't order again now unfortunately... chicken tikka melt was just full of onions and peppers to fill up the pot got 5 bits of chicken ( plus one of those pieces had a funny texture).. no value for money anymore or quality of food... very disappointed

Absolutely shocking portions when you order a large, takes 90 minutes for your food to arrive, a lamb shish kebab is defo no lamb shish

Ordered a vegetarian dish for my daughter, which should have been quorum .. this was clearly chicken. So we called and explained, however the guy on the phone was very argumentative and made us feel as though we were lying. Kept asking us what the meat looked like ,how big were the pieces. Then continue to say I've asked you a question just answer!!!! People make mistakes, I accept that.. however the service I got after was disgusting. When dishing the food out we poured the chicken and sauce over the rice. Surely they should have said to us, we are really sorry and do you need anything else. We also had to wait an hour while we waited for another dish to be sent out. No apology at all.. when the second dish arrived the delivery guy totally agreed that it was chicken. I will never be visiting this place again.

Keep away from this place. Absolutely shocking. Placed an order, the staff said card machine wasnt working, couldnt Give me the normal 'no payment' reciept, and when asked for the manager, was told he was out on a delivery and would be 20mins, only for the 'manager'to appear less than a minute later. The food was absolutely disgusting, cold, uncooked.

Absolutely gross food. Was delivered on time through the app JustEat, yes. But it was all swimming in oil and I couldn't eat more than a few spoons. Absolutely disgusting and basically only oil. Never ordering it again

Ordered though Just Eat but missed a few bits off the order so added them direct with them. Excellent service, fantastic food every dish arrived hot and the flavours were fantastic. Good value and fast delivery.

Ate from here on Saturday and caught Norovirus. Vomited for 30hrs, diarrhea, fever and lost 8kg. Good for weight loss.

My husband ordered last night and has been sick with a stomach bug. If you have plans the next day, want to cancel and have a genuine reason than I highly recommend this place. If you value your life I reckon you should stay away

I've never had a bhuna that tastes really sweet before and I wasn't really that impressed to be honest. Whether it's because I asked for mild, I don't know? The chicken was fresh which is a nice change because usually it's reheated at most takeaways. Everything else was fine but I was put off by it being sweet, sorry.

Had a gorgeous takeaway from here last night, won't be ordering from anywhere else again. Absolutely delicious 😋

Fast delivery, low prices and good food. What more could you want? This place is a cut above your standard tandoori/takeaway fayre. Far better than anything else in the mapperley area.

We couldn't remember which curry houses we'd previously ordered from sent poppadoms as standard, so I called ahead to see if they were one of the curry houses that did. The guy on the phone said yes, "four poppadoms and chutney". We chose this takeaway as a result of this so we were disappointed to see that they were not present in the order. I called them to let them know (not expecting anything other than an "oh, our bad") and the guy essentially called me a liar and that the conversation did not happen... Self preservation at it's finest. The food was just OK but luke warm. Get to Rikshaw or Bay Leaf. Infinitely better food and don't call you a liar when you're letting them know they didn't provide what they said they would. A petty thing to cause a fuss over, but being called a liar ain't my jam.

Awful service!! Never received the food I ordered. Tried to call the restaurant but they would not answer! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!

What can I say. These lads are fantastic . Friendly, shop front waiting area is modern and do some crazy awesome chicken tikka nan kebabs. 5 stars guys.

Ordered a takeaway via Just Eat, delivery time stated 75 minutes. After two hours and several unanswered calls to the restaurant I was assured by an advisor from Just Eat that the restaurant had been spoken to and my order was on it's way. Another thirty minutes passed, eventually got through to the restaurant to be told that the order still hadn't left and was rudely informed that no discussion had taken place with Just Eat. I would never use this restaurant again, absolutely appalled by their poor customer service.

Never been disappointed with Mumbai Spice - their food is second to none, as traditional and unique as it gets, and so deliciously tasty I can't stop eating it :)

Ive tried many indian takeaways but Mumbai Spice is top of the bunch for me when it comes to all things considered. Food, quality, prices, delivery, service etc.

I used to come here years ago (it may have been called something else) and back then it would have got 5 stars. I excitedly returned as I’m in Nottingham for a while, thinking I’d rekindle my love affair with the place, only to discover the food has gone downhill a bit. My chicken tikka masala was very watery and lacked flavour, the onion bhajees really missed the mark. The naan was nice and the price was very reasonable but there are better places to dine these days.

Kids loved it. Great food and service. Made up a non spicy chicken dish for our kids and they loved it

We just moved to nottingham. Lucky we found this place. Best Indian food in a long time. Nice interior, high standard, nice and welcoming staff! My new favorite indian

First time lucky! My wife wanted a curry and we walked past this new Restaurant in Nottingham... decided to try it and loved it! Good wine choice with good food! We will be back!

Very disappointed, just received my chicken tikka kebab, no salad on it... just bread and meat. How can you mess up a kebab?

Fabulous food really enjoyed our meal, very friendly atmosfier and beautiful suroundings staff are very friendly and polite and look smart , the owner Harrish is a wonderful friendly chap, made us so welcome, we would definately reccomend this restourant, we will coming back again and again.

The driver showed up late.. The curry was horrible. No flavour at all. I've been throwing up all night . Do not order from here I'm phoning health and safety first thing today.. Very disappointing.

Fantastic food - we were made to feel very welcome and the staff looked after us fabulously. I can highly recommend the Chilli Garlic Chicken Curry and also the great selection of drinks at the bar - we will be back!

Took 1 hour 30 mins (I was told it would be astaro 45 mins) for the most insipid, greasy and pathetic biriyani I've ever had the misfortune to eat. The meat was dry and flavourless, the fish also had large chunks of carrot in it as fillers, very strange. As I write this a couple of hours later I'm beginning to actually feel ill at the thought of that good. Very ironic that a takeaway with spice in its name send out such tasteless food. Extremely poor service from a third rate outfit. I placed an order at 7pm and they rang to say they cant be bothered to deliver at 7.55am because the driver is busy. Making complaints to both Hungry House and Just Eat to see what they think of these jokers. Maybe a blessing in disguise..

Missing onion bhaji portion, rung them and said they would send and never arrived. Food wasn't great which was annoying as it had been fantastic several times before. Perhaps bad day at the office for the chef and order packer. Another little thing that annoys me is it states on their menu £1 delivery within 3 miles, I order to a address that is 2.5-2.6 miles and the bloke insists its £1.50, but your menu says £1 mate? I believe in customer service, that just doesn't sit with me very well.

Shockingly bad service and delivery times. Tonight our order took over 2 hours to arrive (quoted 50mins when ordering) and was significantly incomplete. This is the 3rd time out of 4 orders that our food has taken 90mins or more to arrive when the estimated time has been 40-50mins. Contacted Mumbai Spice / Apna Style twice and each time the staff just say the delay is because they are busy, without apology. Have been ordering from here for years so gave them the benefit of the doubt to start with but will no longer use - too frustrating!

Ordered my curry at 6pm it arrived at 7.35pm was told told it would take 45 minutes to deliver. Tried chasing my order but phone constantly engaged. When order arrived came with the wrong rice. Will never use them again.

Ordered through hungry house Order turned up hour or so later..No problem with time Unfortunately order was incomplete Phoned immediately to let them know and was informed no driver was available for 30 mins. I was offered 30% discount off next order but I insisted I'd prefer rest of order. Hour past so I phoned again and was told remainder of order was on way ... another hour past no sign of remaining Order. Contacted Hungry house who sorted out a refund of missing items, Mumbai spice could learn a lot from their customer service. I won't order again from this Takeaway as customer service was poor.

Order food at 18:30. Count down system says 45 mins. After 7 pm told that they haven't got one of the food ordered. 20:15 get a phone call asking me for my address by driver and that it will be another 15 minutes. Use to have great service before until now and never again.

Have tried others but always turn back to the pioneers if you ask me!! By far the best in Nottingham.

I have been using these guys for ages. Their food is divine, the speed its delivered is great. I live in a hard to find area and they phoned me when they struggled to locate me the first time and i answered my phone and directed them and they were with me in minutes. These guys really are the best and the customer service is ace too. Another great meal tonight. Thank you ☺

If I could I would have given zero stars or half star. Worse Indian food that I have ever tasted. Plus my order was wrong. Made a complaint to them and was promised that I will be contacted back from the restaurant manager and they never called me back. Poor service. Would not order again and absolutely would not recommend to anyone. If you're hungry don't rely to mumbai spice crap.

Mumbai Spice has become my new favourite takeaway. The quality of food is awesome, the delivery is fast and the pricing is good. Easily the best indian takeaway in the Notts area.

Consistently excellent food. Why go anywhere else
