Tasty muffins,avarage coffee,we had to wait a while but will return.

Very good english breakfast and huge and delicious tea. Very nice service, I highly recommend it.

Love muffin break, but the standards are going down

First visit Chai Latte was ok but felt like I was doing the cinnamon challenge whilst drinking it. Biscoff cheesecake was lovely.

The staff are very friendly and helpful but the coffee is expensive.

Partner stood at the counter for 5 minutes and got completely ignored. Staff proceeded to serve people behind her??? Poor service!

Unfortunately there is a high staff turnover which means the taste of my drink is inconsistent. Every week there is a new staff member and my latte tastes different from one week to the next. Sometimes it's tastes good, other time it's tastes horrendous, I find this frustrating as the price isn't cheap. Regrettably I will have to give this place a miss from now on.

Always crowded although there are a few international coffee brands near by. I have tried out their cookies which are really really good. Service is quick and friendly, the staff is probably used to the rush and is effective in quickly going through the order. They have plenty of seating and almost always it's full. Seems like a local favorite.

The service was quite slow, the lady didn't seem to know what she was doing. She could have been new to the job, not sure. Ordered large hot chocolates but felt cheated as the cups were only slightly larger than the standard, but expensive. We also ordered carrot cake and a scone with butter, which looked delicious. Although, it was ridiculously impossible to cut. It just fell apart and crumbled into tiny pieces. My husband gave up and left it. The carrot cake was disgusting!! The actual cake was moist and just ok, but what was supposed to be cream cheese was awful. Never again! We used to love going to Muffin Break, but after that experience, I think that will be the last time.

Food very good, staff helpful, told me to go and sit down and my food and drink bought to table as I'm on crutches.

This is a nice café. I had the mocha. The seats were comfy. The staff were friendly. I didn't have anything to eat on this occasion, but there was a lovely display of cakes and sandwiches. I would recommend this place.

Great buns and also has decaf tea and coffee which is a big plus for us.

I went here on a Monday it wasn't very busy we got our order fairly quick . So we sat in the back where there was others too, only downside is that one worker was brushing the floor while we were only a table away she was coming and going and brushing the floor. I don't think it's hygienic as we were drinking and eating and all that dust was in the air because it was lots of dust and rubbish on the floor I don't understand why they don't clean up before opening

Classic Breakfast “made fresh to order - from scratch” I’ll have a classic breakfast please “sorry we have no sausage or bacon prepared” “Not taking breakfast orders” What is there instead “Just what’s in the cabinet my love” So helpful when you’re at the front of a que. we tried Muffin Break for a change. You can rest assured we won’t be trying it again. 6AM aprons Ovens on?????? Bit of false advertising there then. Fruit toast delivered. Sorry a bit crispy. Turned it over it was burnt. Poor poor service.

I moved to Derby at the start of this year, and one of the first places recommended to me by a friend was Muffin Break. Since then it’s become a frequent spot for me to visit due to the selection of food and beverages paired with the kind and hard working staff. Many thanks to the team at Muffin Break, you are always wonderful.

Drinks were lovely but expensive

We went for a coffee. I chose a drink that was displayed on a poster. They told me they didn’t make it here, so why is it displayed?!

The service on our visit was nothing short of dismal. When attempting to place an order with drinks and food the employee would not organise accepting the order and instead was focussed on getting the first food item. After the food was ordered we were asked to take a seat to wait for the drinks. We waited for almost 30mins for our drinks then when they came out then were bought out 2 at first then after 10 mins the other 3 were ready. One drink was supposed to be no cream, then we saw her bring out the drink with cream on then took it back and scooped the cream off then serving the drink with cream residue still on it. Absolutely would not recommend, just go to Costa across the way

Came in for some breakfast , and was already skipped in the que , then i proceeded to hear a member of staff who was a older blonde woman shout at a young girl all for just for forgetting a table number ? , think the staff are very rude and shouldn’t be talking to staff that way in front of customers

The food was really horrible and they didn't have any extras for the breakfast they didn't listen to what we wanted and still put stuff on what we didn't like when we ask I wouldn't recommend to this place the bread tasted stail and they didnt given us any butter

Always lovely at Muffin Break. The coffee is amazing as ways the bacon and brie panini. We will be back again and again.

Milkshake and very fresh muffin- what's not to like. Plenty of choice of food and drinks, but service didn't come with much of a smile , the young lady who served me was quite rude. Perhaps she was having a bad day, we'll see what happens if we visit again.

Clean cafe with lots of food options. Staff are always friendly and professional.

Absolutely delicious muffins and cakes all mega fresh . Alternative milks served as well as various fruit teas..can get rather noisy and very busy especially during school holidays...As it's right in the intu centre

Great coffee, great miffin's! I stopped here for a coffee break with the family and to have a snack. The staff were friendly and helpful and everyone, even the kids, enjoyed the muffins. Definitely a worthy alternative to Starbucks/Costa

Very surprised as I expected it to be a lot better from the reviews I read. The staff were very unhelpful ordered a breakfast with a pot tea and they only provided one cup when I asked for another they said sorry we cannot do this. I asked for the lady to let me speak to a manager as when we go regularly to costa and bb Starbucks other places in Derby for breakfast they never say they are not allowed. I explained that the half pot of tea I paid for will be going to waste as it’s enough for two cups and other cafes normally do the same even just provide with a takeout cup but the lady refused and after I told her to bring a manager tell them I’m not happy she just walked away and never came back. Will not be going there again!

I normally find muffin break to be friendly, cosy and a nice place to sit down and have a coffee, unfortunately my visit today was tainted. I was met with what seemed like a new girl, doing what she could but she was accompanied with a want who seemed to be impatient and rude to her. I felt so sorry for the young girl. The manager (I'm assuming) snapped at the girl and was running around in such a huff. Another girl seemed to head to the staff room (probably just starting her shift) to then be snapped at to get on counter straight away. Both me and my friend picked up application forms and we have both decided against the role due to her attitude alone. Hope the young lady that has just started is not put off too much. Came in to enjoy a coffee and cake, but the manager was extremely rude and disrespectful to me whilst I was ordering. The manager was rude to the staff too and overall seems like a nasty person who can’t even try to smile. She had no consideration for allergies either, just down right rude.

I dont often complain at all however we went in for a coffee twice today and the first time the manager seemed very rude and impatient with the girl serving on the counter who seemed possibly new felt bad for her and hope shes ok , second time as i was leaving i witnessed the same manager ( well presuming she was anyway) speaking to a customer very rudely too. We had picked up job application form from there and it certainly put me off wanting a job with her so no wonder they need staff if thats how she speaks to her staff and customers too ! However the coffee and cake was very nice and always love muffin break so such a shame shes let the place down so much today with her attitude. The young lady on the till earlier was trying her best so if she sees this thank you for keeping it way more professional than your own manager you deserve a medal because i would of told her where to poke her job if she spoke to me like that on a daily basis so really hope the staff dont have to deal with this all the time.

1st visit here, so much choice had toasty + banofe muffin delicious. Everywhere nice +clean, lovely staff working hard

Always good at Muffin Break, food, service and staff, great little place.

Great for coffee. Need to improve their toilet facilities. For years there has been loose toilet seats and handles, plus a need for it to be cleaner

I had a lovely almond milk latte and vegan chocolate chip and strawberry muffin here. The shop itself has plenty of seating and is welcoming and comfortable. The staff are friendly and happy.

Lots of dirty tables, food and drink ok. Not happy that I have to pay more for oat milk. Ps It isn't a choice

We absolutely love this place. The cakes and desserts are just gorgeous, as are the hot sausage rolls and warm cheese scones with hot butter. The food is so nice as are the great varitey of speciality coffees and hot chocolates. And they have a customer loyalty app which gives you a free drink for every 10th one. Just scan your phone everytime you buy something via theuffin break app. Love it. ❤️

I came in the other week and was served by Jen who was very nice and recommended some delicious products to me, including the hot chocolate with a pump of honeycomb syrup. The staff are very friendly with a nice environment :)

i have been humiliated by a worker who shouted at me before i even got the chance to sit down after a long tiring day! she roared “ORDER” at me when i was about to sit down to contemplate what i wanted to order. i felt humiliated as it was quite busy. i felt stared at by judging, gazing eyes. I feel i can never walk into this cafe again. it really was the cherry on top to a bad day. Nobody should be tantalised this way.

Staff friendly as always. I usually dive in vut decided on a takeaway this visit. Lots of choice but didn't look as appealing as it normally does.. Still very nice though.

Really impressed with this place and fully recommend you go! The customer service was outstanding. We were served by Elly who was attentive and always seemed to be working hard on something. She quickly anticipated my order based on my conversation with my wife and was a really smiley person to talk to. Will definitely come back if all staff are like her!

I love Muffin Break. I go there quite often to meet my friends for a coffee. Always lovely cakes to choose from 🎂 the food are nice.

Abit pricey but a good cafe and lovely food

The panini was amazing. The coffee was hotter than lava and all milky not good at all. The muffin was so dry it almost was a biscuit cake. The staff where nice and the place was clean so not all bad but definitely room for improvement

This place means a lot to me, my mum loved coming here for a coffee & toasted sandwich. Mum died December 2019 & now my sister & I come here most weeks. The food & snacks are delicious as are the drinks. Top marks! A big plus for me is anywhere that clears & cleans the tables swiftly allowing new customers to take a seat at a clean table. Cafes & restaurants abroad have this perfected, but UK staff can leave dirty tables while they scroll through their phones or chit chat. Muffin break have lovely friendly staff who serve with courtesy.

Didn't have muffins weirdly but we did have cookies and milkshakes! Very good if you have a sweet tooth! 😋

Whilst we do use the cafe, gotta say I'm not a fan. Coffee is hit and miss can be weak and milky, they do smaller cups which I prefer as I like strong coffee. Cakes can be dry and a little cold and again I'm weird and like my cake at room temperature, I know this maybe a health legislation issue.

Altho they only tend to do one gluten free option it's always fresh and tasty. The staff are lovely and so is the coffee

Wonderful place to stop for lunch or just some cake!

Ordered hot chocolate but on arrival not very warm. On drinking it there was still powder at the bottom of the cup. Not mixed properly and became undrinkable. I went and told the manager who dismissed me totally then proceeded to discuss it with other customers queuing. Very rude and unprofessional and i told her so but still continued to speak in a condescending manner calling me sweetheart. Where are the customers rights to complain even when the evidence is there in front of them. I didnt want another drink or refund just acknowledgment and some kind of apology would have been appropriate. Instead I was made to feel I shouldn't have even said anything. And because the manager behaved in an unprofessional manner, with an attitude clearly speaking to me very rudely this was upsetting for myself and husband who had only called in for a drink. Both my husband and I who are in our 60s will not be visiting the Muffin break ever again. The manager certainly needs further training on how to treat paying customers with some respect and remember we all make mistakes and clearly one had been made today and a little politeness goes a long way.

Not a place for breakfast. Bacon was more fat the meat. Just thrown together on a plate. Hot food didn't ce out together. Coffee was nice so probably with a namelist Muffin Break I would suggest just buying a muffin.

I've been a few times but the last time I went I ordered a tuna panini and when it arrived it had onions in which it never said it did on the label. I don't recommend you order that if you are allergic to onions as they may still have not corrected this mistake even though I pointed it out to them.

This is my go to place at Derbion . The muffins are baked freshly every day but theres also sandwiches , rolls , cheesecake and a whole variety of tea , coffee , chocolate and milkshakes . Clean , with friendly staff and filling muffins that are delicious . What more could you want .

This place was a great find!! As I'm not a frequent visitor to Derbion, I wasn't sure where to go for a coffee and a snack...and this place was perfect!! There's plenty of snack choices (I personally recommend the Biscoff Cheescake!), and ample choice of hot and cold drinks. Staff were friendly (and offer to take your tray to your table if required). They're also quick to clean the tables too.

A great coffee house with a selection of sandwiches, pastries and muffins, and they'll warm the muffin up for you too, which is recommended as they're delicious.

Because our favorite cafe was full we decided to try Muffin Break and we were not disappointed. The coffee was lovely and the cake was good. However, the cheesecake was a lil too sweet for my liking.

Just didn't live up to our expectations, although the staff were lovely the food wasn't so great.

It was okay. Expensive for what it was and the cheesecake was nothing like cheesecake unfortunately. First visit and probably the last as there are much better places in town.
