A fairly decent Thai restaurant. The food is certainly a westernised version of Thai food reminiscent of many Thai restaurants up and down the country and often attached to pubs. Menu has a wide variety of dishes. Service from the young waitress seemed a little haphazard, bringing out the wrong dish and saying ‘but this is what you ordered’ but eventually bringing us the correct dish.

Surprisingly not just good, but great! The massuman curry has the richest taste and texture I’ve had. This would be a favorite place to eat if I lived here

This Thai restaurant has a minimum spending requirement. The Tom Yum soup is sour without any spiciness, and the portion size is very small. The chicken wings have a strange taste, which makes me feel disgusted.

Not happy overall. Where do I begin. Starters were ok. Then they got my order wrong. I asked for a duck green curry they brought out red curry. When I asked to change they said there was no green curry left so I ordered pork penang. Then this come out which was supposed to be green. Then they were saying there is no penang. Got attitude from the manager when spoke to her and also they put a service charge on the bill when I get a bad service. Picture below shows what I got in the end not green not Penang not sure what it was and did not taste good. Will not be going there again.

The food was delicious. However, the quantities leave more to be desired: I therefore recommend ordering a starter (e.g. spring rolls), a starch (rice/noodles) and a protein with sauce ( e.g. chicken/tofu curry). There were trains running under the restaurant every 5 minutes, which can be mildly annoying, but is out of the restaurant's control. Finally, they don't provide an itemized bill, which we calculated to be off by ~£1 using the menu + 10%. If we're paying a service charge, then I at least expect an itemized bill.

This is a wonderful little restaurant. I booked a table on the website the night before, and I had instant communication from them. On the night, the girls that waited our table were very attentive and incredibly lovely! We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere this place provides. Will definitely come again!

Fantastic restaurant to pop into at short notice on a Friday night. We were seeing Goldfrap at the Roundhouse and had over an hour to eat somewhere. We were told that we could only stay for an hour an hour due to how busy they were, which is fair enough. We wwew rushed a little, out the leftover salad from out starters were immediately taken away although the waitress did ask if it was okay. Then the moment we finished our main courses, our plates were taken away and the bill was brought out, within 40 minutes. But overall it was fine. Most of the servers are great and the decor in the restaurant and toilets are exquisite and add to the experience.

Good atmosphere. The staff were very attentive. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The dishes were delicious, and authentic. I would go back again, and take my friends and family with me.

Food made up for the service. Would probably attend again, now I know where to set my expectations. Starters taken away whilst being consumed to make way for mains is one of quite a few service faux pas.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Very helpful friendly staff. Really good varied menu choices. Great to have some fish choices. Excellent tasty food, cooked and presented to perfection. I had the Red Thai sea bass which was delicious. My friend had the Thai Green vegetable curry which had a variety of vegetables and tasted very good. Our starters, money bags and tempura vegetables were equally good. Highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to visit again. Just sorry I live out of town. Visited again and had an equally lovely evening with very tasty food and great service. We sat at the table with the traditional Thai cushions which was cosy we felt welcomed and looked after.

Delicious food and loads of vegan options. Portion sizes were large but not too much! Had a really nice evening here. The staff were lovely.

This is one of my favorite places in London, I have come to this restaurant many times and I always order thier panang. People are great, lovely cozy restaurant atmosphere and of course amazing food. Would definitely recommend !!!

Beautiful venue - I got a Beef Pad Thai and my friend got a Panang. Food was incredible - worth the money. Came out very fast and great service. Would reccomend - best Pad Thai in Camden

Muang Thai is our absolute favourite place to eat when going to gigs in the area. The food is always of the highest quality & the staff are always lovely! And please Google world, IGNORE the recent review from Tiana Wilson who wasn't actually a paying customer at the restaurant but just bitter because she wasn't able to use the customer toilet whilst queuing outside for a gig at the Roundhouse! There have NEVER been any rats anywhere near Muang Thai' s kitchen then or at any time before or since 🙄

Today was the first time ever I visited this restaurant. Needless to say the food was amazing so were the staffs. I wasn't intending to leave a comment Just wanted to give a rating they deserve then I saw a girl's review of the restaurant, I saw the whole thing she was just passing by and came in to use the toilet but when the manager denied as it is supposed to be used by customer's only, and then she turned so rude and misbehaved with the staffs in the restaurant. The whole scenario was so disheartening and when I came in to share my experience over here just saw the same girl give a 1 star rating and say the kitchen was not clean. I mean she literally just walked right off the door, didn't even come in had a meal or been to the kitchen area.It's so disgusting.To what extent can a person go to make someone look bad.

There was a RAT running in the kitchen and the staff incredibly rude and dismissive like I should just get over it. STAY AWAY. The person I spoke to was even apparently the manager and still no concern for health and safety absolutely disgusting!!!!

This is literally my favourite Thai restaurant in the neighbourhood. Delicious and fragrant food. Plus it's just across the Roundhouse, which is convenient for a quick take-away or dinner whenever I work! Must try!!

Really impressed with the professional, efficient and welcoming service. We had a show at the roundhouse and we had been seated, served a main course+ drinks, and paid within an hour. Nice food too!

Such a cute restaurant! What a hidden treasure! We were a group of 6 looking for somewhere to eat after leaving the Round House and the restaurant is almost directly opposite. The staff are so friendly, so smiley, take pride in their service :) The food was so good! Affordably priced too! They were even able to do the Pad Thai for me without the eggs! (A lot of other places have it pre-mixed already). Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. And I loved the traditional decor of this restaurant! The whole aesthetic of the restaurant. And do you know, they have been on Chalk Farm for over 20 years!! No wonder their whole service is on point! P.s. They have these cute floor type table seats by the front. I'll definitely be back.

A great Thai restaurant located just outside the busiest part of Camden, but well worth those few extra steps. Staff were really pleasant & attentive. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was relaxing. Would recommend for a lovely meal in a slightly calmer environment.

Quite good, but the usual anglicised thai food which can be a bit bland. Not a problem if you're not into spicy food though.

We have never been before, we thought we'd pop in whilst waiting to get in to see a concert at the Round House. We could not believe how friendly and efficient the staff were. The food was also excellent, especially the chicken Pad Thai. I would strongly recommend and we will go again

I’ve eaten Green chicken curry in probably over 30 restaurants, it’s my favourite dish, & the one I just had here is EASILY top 3, absolutely Astounding, lemonade was quite nice too, portion could have been a touch bigger but I’m greedy. Literally 10/10 if ur hungry and like Thai food this is a great spot. Staff are all lovely too.64

Fabulous food, really tasty, perfect portions. Service was friendly and efficient, they perfectly understood that we were under time pressure and went out of their way to accommodate this. Can't wait to go back again. Keep thinking about the food. So, so good.

We had an amazing dinner made only better by the friendly and genuine service from Rose! We felt super welcome and special and our food came out fast and very tasty. I thought the portions were perfect, not too much and not too little. Hats off to the chef and Rose from the captains hat couple 😚

We ordered the prawn/chicken dumplings which were cold in the middle - asked for them to be replaced, this time they arrived over cooked and burnt. They were literally thrown down on the table by the waitress. When the bill arrived it wasn’t itemised and when we asked for an itemised bill we were told we couldn’t have one. We were told the dumplings had been replaced free of charge though we suspect we were simply charged twice. As we were rushing to see a gig at The Roundhouse we didn’t have time to argue over the itemised bill. Nice atmosphere aside from the half cooked/burnt food.

Hungry after a day of travel and walking I happened on this restaurant on the way back to the tube. On a whim I decided to have dinner here, and I was not disappointed. I don't know a lot about Thai cuisine, but it was certainly delicious. Also, the staff is really friendly and more than willing to cater to any special requests - as long as these fit into traditional Thai cooking, that is ;-). I'll certainly visit them again next time I'm in London.

Muang Thai is an authentic Thai restaurant with varied menu that caters to vegetarian and vegans too. It has a slightly upmarketish feel because it's more sit down and stay then some of its Camden neighbours. There's a really nice ambience. The prices are extremely reasonable. The service is friendly and food is delicious.

Cosy restaurant with lovely atmosphere and friendly staff

We are from Dorset and have come up to Camden for a family event. Were recommended this restaurant and visited on the first evening and had a wonderful meal. Had to come back on our third evening and has another fantastic evening Lovely professional and attentive staff especially Rose If you are in the Camden or Chalk Farm area you must come here Thank you and we will be back next time we are here 😊😊👍👍

It was my first time visiting Muang Thai after a friend recommended it. ( This friend is not a foody.) The food was average at best. Good portion sizes. The service was good. The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great as we sat around a table cross-legged in out socks/house slippers. A nice cozy neighbourhood restaurant.

I regularly come in here - always amazing food & very friendly staff. The atmosphere is also great, with some really cool traditional-style seating areas by the door. Massaman Curry stands out as my favourite.

Went with family before a Roundhouse gig. Warm efficient service and delicious non-gimmicky traditional Thai food in relaxed setting. From the moment we had the crisp freshly-made spring rolls, we knew we were onto a winner. Didn’t break the bank either (as far as London prices go).

Food was excellent and the service also excellent 👌 would 100% come again!

Service is quick- they even try to clear your table as you get up to leave- they’ve seem to have added more tables than last year so it feels very cramped. The Satay chicken was slimy. My husband had pad Thai which was grey and tasteless. I ordered another noodle dish which had broccoli but mine was a pile of soggy rice noodles, French beans that tasted out of date and no broccoli. When asked if we enjoyed our meal I told the owner that we hadn’t and she really didn’t seem bothered! To end it the waitress kept insisting we could split the bill without us giving any indication that we wanted do this! We’re a couple who have been married for many years so don’t understand why she would ask! Won’t be returning!

Das Essen war ok-ish, etwas zu wenig gewürzt und ich hab schon sehr viel besser Thai gegessen. Hauptproblem war, dass es ziemlich kalt im Restaurant war.

C'était la meilleure soupe de poulet que j'ai mangé, et le curry rouge était très bon aussi ! J'ai un peu moins apprécié les springs rolls, qui étaient peu garnis pour le prix. Je recommande en tout cas, car la nourriture y est délicieuse !

Very pushy staff, a lot of the vegetables seemed to be already cut frozen bag veg from the grocery store.. the flavours were nice but the quality definitely isn’t there for the price. Seemed everything was bought from a packet and cooked to order, no fresh ingredients at all - especially the fish cakes and squid. Good location if you’re going to the Roundhouse afterwards, but otherwise definitely wouldn’t bother visiting.

I've been here 3 times. The food has always been nice, though the portions of rice are far too small for the meal. There are a couple of reasons why I've given it a low rating and while I'm probably not going to go back I really hope they read these reviews and make changes. The first time I ate there, I ate outside and was asked to pay for the meal before eating, this included a service charge. I was told it was because they had had people walk off without paying. The food was nice enough so I thought I'd come again. The last time two times, I've felt very rushed. The waitress, without asking, took my plate as I was putting the last bit of food in my mouth (I am not exaggerating), then stood waiting for me to hand her the fork. The owner is quite a harsh lady, she berates her staff in front of customers for doing things I'm sure she is asking them to do (clearing tables too quickly). This lady really should not be in a front of house position. She's curt with everyone and rushes around the restaurant cleaning tables when there is no one to be seated at them, just not a relaxing experience. Response to owner. I'm glad you're reading customer reviews. I can promise you, nobody "expects" to have their table cleared while they're still eating, then have them stand over you and wait for you to take the fork out of your mouth. If a customer is in a rush, which I wasn't, then let that customer tell you. This has absolutely nothing to do with customer expectations. If you feel it necessary to charge those customers seated outside before they've eaten, at least hold off on the service charge.

So good, I had 2 mains. Starters of Money bags and duck spring rolls (delicious!). Mains of PAD KHING with chicken and steamed rice. Second was prawn red Thai curry with coconut rice. It was all fantastic. Highly recommended.

Quite pricey for such small portions. We paid 18 pounds each for one small plate.. plus it’s not a friendly place so it doesn’t make it any better.

My favorite Thai restaurant in London! My friends and I go every week. The owner is so friendly and accommodating - and caters to vegans! We love the papaya salad, panang curry and pad kee mao. And I dream about their sticky rice, with and without mango. So good!

I'm a regular here most weeks! The service is always delightful. The kitchen's super accommodating of vegans - personal faves include the papaya salad and the Panang tofu. The wine list marks vegan wines - more of this please, other restaurants :) Love the beautifully cushioned seating area.

Fake Thai food at Michelin prices. Spring rolls out of a packet, curry sauce out of a jar, served in tiny portions. Arrogant and defensive front-of-house staffer tries to upsell drinks and desserts and miscalculates bill in their favor. Avoid at all costs.

非常糟糕👎🏼 很後悔走進這間店 原因一 衛生不佳 坐下來大約數分鐘，我的左手被蝨子咬，我只是用了少量自己帶來的藥膏，女店員（老闆娘？）即時走來說我的藥膏味道影響整間店的空氣… 是我的問題？！ 原因二 食物質素 Tom Yum £6.95 我很喜歡喝冬蔭公，但這間店的冬蔭公令我失望，只有酸無辣味，湯裡面只有4小塊切開的蘑菇和4件蝦 Thai Green Curry £11.95 只有一小碗，份量很少，而且味道太甜，不是青咖哩應有的味道 Coconut Rice £3.75 跟白飯無分別，只是聞起來有椰香而已 Pad Thai £10.95 不過不失，讚的是金邊粉很彈牙 原因三 服務態度 當我們剛吃完放下餐具，只是看一下手錶，女店員（老闆娘）以為我們要結帳，即時拿帳單放低在枱邊給我們，算了，然後我看一看帳單，發現收費不清晰，只有總數和服務費的總和，我示意要求拿餐牌以核對價錢，女店員（老闆娘）很不滿的在帳單上寫上食物價錢，然後快步走開，我心想這是甚麼的服務態度！？ 我說的都是真話，如果大家不怕被無禮對待，可以去感受一下

Service is quick as close to local there's etc., during the evening. Food is reasonable, tastes authentic, reasonably priced.

Being Amid Thai food lover. I thought let’s go this restaurant as it was close to my home . One of the worst Thai food ever tried. Quantity is too low even for one person . I order Thai green curry which is worst & curry was not with rice . Also on top of that I ordered prawns tempora as starters, in that they give mixed prawn plus veggies, just two prawns and left over veggies deeply friend in very smelly oil . Too much of oily. Total of £24 pound not enough for single person . Worst experience . Please don’t go here. Staff is not welcoming though we have reached close to closing time. Will that matter ? Especially the Lday . She is not at all good at customer service . From my perspective she is rude as well.

We picked this place as it was near The Roundhouse and we wanted a pre-show meal. I hadn’t expected that it would be fabulous. The food was excellent and really authentic. The lady who looked after us was so lovely and looked so elegant. All the staff were polite. It is such a shame we live so far away and all our local thai restaurants have shut down. The tom yum kung soup was really great. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have a long love affair with Thai food, after spending a few months in Thailand. The problem is, it never taste just like there. That is until we stumbled upon this beautiful place. A family business, Honest Thai food, base on the mother’s recipes. Nice people, very welcoming. Attention to detail, and ingredients are as close to Thai as you could possibly find in this part of the world. I would recommend eating at the restaurant, because it’s just so pleasant. Highly recommended.

Great place to eat if you want some relief from the crowded street food of Camden. Nicely placed near the Roundhouse for a pre-gig meal which we managed today in just over an hour. Good food, reasonably priced with gluten free options.

I had such a great experience and loved the food. It was delicious and Jessica is an amazing host. I will definitely go back again.

We wanted a quick bite before a gig at the roundhouse - on the Saturday of the jubilee weekend as well - the restaurant was very busy (as you would well imagine!) but they fitted us in and had a great selection of vegetarian options as well. Food was delicious, service was perfectly good - only criticism was that the table were very close together with seats butted up against each other in the centre (where we sat) But we accept this is a very busy part of town, and a very busy weekend and it did not interfere with a lovely early dinner experience. Would certainly be happy to recommend and would go again.

There are theme Thai restaurants, and genuine Thai restaurants. This is the real thing, and if only I lived up here, not South London, I would make it a regular haunt.

Perfect as a stop off before heading to The Roundhouse. Second time we’ve been here and again we managed to get a table without booking but it did fill up quickly. Food quick, tasty, and varied. Service very friendly.

Very nice restaurant. The only thing I’d say isn’t the best is how close the tables and seats are together. Ideally it’s nice to have a bit more distance so that people are safer during the pandemic. The staff are friendly and the food is so so good! I didn’t know how nice it was, and I’m very impressed. I would love to have some more Thai food in the future.

Absolutely recommend this place! As a person who values spicy food, they met all my expectations (I asked for the spicy version of their green curry and it was perfection!). I would come here any time of the week!
