Lovely cafe with undercover outdoor seating. Staff helpful and friendly. At closure time , staff came round with scones at no charge. Lovely coffee and pots of tea. Cheese and onion scones and fruit scones were tasty and delicious. Would recommend a visit especially when visiting Haddo House and country park.

I was visiting the geese etc at Haddo estate with my grandchildren yesterday - for the first time. Popped into Mrs Smith's for a light lunch. The staff were lovely and very efficient at taking the orders. the mushroom soup was delicious but the caramelised onion and cheese scones were so amazing that I bought another 2 to take home to Edinburgh. I spoke to the manager yesterday and said there and then how wonderful the food was and very reasonably priced too.

I called in to this little cafe after getting the munchies following a long walk in the park, and had a Hot beef baguette. It was very good, nicely caramelised with all the deep flavour of slow cooked meat. Friendly staff too, what more could be asked for.

Are you breaking Tier 4 restrictions by selling food to people sitting outside at your own tables rather than takeaway? Is this not considered outdoors eating as you’ve provided the tables with lighting and shelters? I don’t see other cafes trading like this under Tier 4.

Staff were friendly and the coffee and cakes excellent. Most of the space was taken up by noisy young mothers, buggies and screaming babies, so not a relaxing experience However, this wasn't the worst part.....the nearest lavatory was at least a five minute walk away which for someone in their mid seventies is far from ideal.

Had a really tasty NYC baguette today at Mrs Smiths...............Loads of pastrami, slices of Jarlsberg cheese, juicy dill cucumbers plus mustard served in a fresh, crusty baguette.......... whats not to like? I had a pot of Clipper tea to drink.......The staff were warm and welcoming... Thank you . The reason it only managed 4 stars was the muffin. It was dry.....the frosting was so synthetic it should have come with a health warning! Anyway an enjoyable lunch..........the daft dog and I will be back xx

DO NOT THINK THIS IS MRS SMITH'S ANYMORE After a stroll around the gardens, we popped into the small café next to the car park for an early lunch. Have to say there did not seem to be a welcoming feeling as previous visits As someone who has food allergies we saw that cheese was the only thing available for me until found out it was white. No suggestion of anything even toast was offered, so we left !! Last time we were there, I had egg sandwiches... a lady came from the kitchen when she heard I could not eat what was on offer and suggested the egg sandwich. It was not as if the café was busy, no one was in there, I am sure that they had bread and probably eggs so do wonder why that was not suggested

We popped into here after visiting Haddo House. There is also a National Trust shop serving food. However, we went into here for the baguettes on offer and were not disappointed. There is seating outside and in. We had coffee and two freshly made warm baguettes that were full of ingredients. The staff were friendly and food was delicious.Based on our experience we would return and have no hesitation on recommending. Total cost £11.75, which we felt was good for what we had.

I had gone to Haddo House expecting to have a coffee in the tearoom attached to the House. I had no idea that there was another option, situated in a small building just across from the car park. I went in quite late in the afternoon, thinking it might be closing, but I was able to order a coffee and chose a strawberry cupcake to go with it. The coffee was very flavoursome and the cake hit the spot with a generous amount of icing on top and a juicy berry. The staff were polite and pleasant, and it all felt very relaxed. There are also tables outside, which would be fine when the heavy rain passed over. At a cost of £4.10 it was at the inexpensive end of the range for such things. I was very pleased with my experience.

Been here twice this month and found it pleasant enough for a quick snack. I enjoyed my second visit more as the Angus baguette had more well cooked beef in it and caramelised onion which they ran out of first time. The pulled pork and optional coleslaw was also filling and tasty. This is usually served in a brioche bun, but they had run out, so plain bap instead. Latte nice and well presented. A nice scone accompanied my soup with lurpak butter (my fav.butter). Surroundings basic, but o.k. for a pit stop. I would imagine noisy when full of kids. This place will be one of my regular stops as able to sit o/s with the dogs. I was not keen on the cup cakes as took a take away one and found it dry, despite eating same day. Also found prices reasonable.

We enjoyed coffee and cake while visiting Haddo House recently. This tearoom is one of two available on this site. It is quite basically furnished but very busy with couples and young families. The food was excellent but the hard surfaces amplified the chatter and we found the whole experience a bit noisy. Horses for courses and we will probably try the other tearoom on or next visit.

We love haddo. But not sure about Mrs S's. Nice food choice we thought, well priced, but beef in beef and stilton salad was tasteless. Didnt like big bench rather than individual tables. Had a feeling of being in a kid's nursery school. And the welcome was a bit stoney. It will be back to the main cafe for us next time. But perhaps we are traditionalists. Sorry.

I have been here a number of times since my last review as Haddo House is one of my favourite places to take my little girl. My last visit stood out from these times however. As I am on a special diet at the moment I am finding it hard to eat out and avoid carb heavy meals. Usually I enjoy sampling the delicious fresh soup and sandwiches (and cakes) on offer at Mrs Smith's. But this time was different and I opted for a salad of the daily specials board. The salad was clean and crisp, the dressing was tasty and the olives, mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes were to die for. The portion was good too and it kept me fuelled as I chased my wee one around the park.As normal the staff were friendly and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. Great work, see you next weekend!

Having had my fill of NTS cafes (after a while they do become like a middle class Subway), Mrs Smith's at Haddo was located on the edge of the country park and just before the entrance at Haddo House, so the family and I decided to try it out. We were in a rush as only had 30 mins before our allotted tour, however, the staff were brilliant, swift and friendly and delivered our 4 bespoke baguettes in a matter of minutes. With nearly 20 fillings, you had the freedom to put your own set of fillings in a still warm baguette. I opted for avocado, bacon, chicken and lettuce - all the fillings were super fresh and it cost £4. Washed down with a little bit of fizzy vimtosat on the benches outside, we were suitably sated before our Georgian tour. There was a host of homemade cakes on offer as well as hot drinks and even some duck food to feed the little quacks in the country park. Simple, fresh and honest food.

We are now regulars at the Seafield Arms as it is so good. It was my birthday and where else would we go for a special meal. This time, we tried the surf and turf block. We were not disappointed as the seafood and steak were cooked to perfection. As well as the fresh local vegatable selection. The hotel manager had to get up at 4am to get the lobster. That is dedication to perfection. Our friend had a sirloin steak, cooked to her satisfaction. Our daughter had the mac and cheese and was more than happy. The girls finished the meal with sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Yum Yum. The service was professional and very friendly. We have a concern, what will we have to eat the next time as it is all so good.
