Mrs Potts Chocolate House in Cardiff

Omg increíble pastel de Matilde pero no pude terminarlo, también tuve un batido, fue increíble, me encantan mis batidos y este dio en el punto. Vale la pena una visita si te gusta el pastel.

Primera y última vez aquí con nuestro hijo y nuera. Esperó siglos sin ser reconocido por los dos empleados que servían, que no se molestaron en apresurarse, después de que finalmente nos sirvieron, luego esperamos siglos para nuestras bebidas, los cafés que se habían hecho primero, estaban tibios para cuando finalmente se sirvieron a nuestra mesa. Mi marido cometió entonces el error fatal de usar el único inodoro en las instalaciones que aparentemente era absolutamente repugnante. Si te gusta una larga espera con un servicio mediocre, café caliente y tener una vejiga fuerte, entonces este es el lugar para usted. Tristemente no volveremos.

Este lugar era perfectamente decadente y un buen rato agradable. Mi esposa dijo que su cappuchino estaba entre los cinco primeros en sus libros y el batido de vainilla puso la tarde por encima. También estaba situado perfectamente en la arcada. Recomiendo encarecidamente esto como una parada.

Endroit situé dans une rue principale. Il y sert différents chocolats chauds et gâteaux à base de chocolat comme différents cookies par exemple. Dommage que la dernière fois, il n'y avait plus de chocolat chaud blanc...

Hoy mi mamá y yo fuimos a esta encantadora tienda de chocolate en Cardiff donde tuvimos 2 chocolates calientes con una galleta de doble trozo y una galleta Nutella, la galleta Nutella era absolutamente delicioso, recomiendo este lugar para una visita.

Encantador encontrar una cafetería de bacalao abierta por la noche. Excelente café, gran pastel y personal amable. ¿Qué más puedes querer después de un largo día?

Hermoso café y deliciosas delicias dulces, personal amable y un gran servicio, la galleta del sumidero era mi favorita, también compré un poco de chocolate para llevar a casa conmigo x

ive been to the location and bath and this one here is just as good! the chocolate in the hot chocolate is rich and there are many options available. if you're a chocolate fan i recommend this spot!

I love hot chocolate and randomly went into this cafe when out with family and friends. Didn’t expect much, saw there was 72% hit chocolate and added marshmallows to that, I thought. Really surprised at this being the best hit chocolate I’ve had and the marshmallow being a big fluffy square. I can see the bad reviews and yet if you love dark rich hot chocolate this is just heaven. I found the service pleasant and we did not need to wait.

Walked into the very small, overcrowded shop at 6pm on a Thursday evening. No seating available so had a little bit of a wait. When a table did become available, no one went over to clean the plates or spilt milk. I had to take the dirty dishes over the till. I ordered after waiting about 5 minutes to be acknowledged at the till. There was no communication from the staff and they were not friendly. We sat down and deserts and coffee was served in 10 mins. The Matilda cake which we travelled for was amazing but it also tasted just like the Betty Crocker Devils Fudge Cake box mix. We also ordered a Chocolate fudge brownie, I wouldn’t recommend it was hard dry and tasted burnt. For £4/ £5 each I would expect more. I wouldn’t probably return for what looks like an amazing experience on instagram.

Nice drinks and lots of options, although some ingredients were missing so some could not be made. Staff were very friendly and nice :)

Absolutely terrible service! I waited for what seemed like an eternity with three members of staff not serving me, so up and left insteadI think this whole chain is sadly overrated. We visited recently and were disappointed but I thought I would give it another try! Not again! There are far better coffee shops in Cardiff - go to any of those!

Oh, how the mighty has fallen. We came to Mrs Potts for the first time last year and were so impressed with their cafe. One year later and it was melting hot in there, it was smelly, flies were everywhere, the tables were dirty and only one staff member was working. We couldn't abide the smell of body odour in the cafe, there were a few take away orders being served but hardly anyone was in there. Clearly this meant that the previous diners were also boiling hot and struggling with BO, this wouldn't be a problem if the building was properly cooled. If you can't afford AC fine; get your windows tinted to reduce the heat in your cafe and install fans to lower temps and also reduce flying insects.

Really poor service here. It was busy due to the rugby but they didn’t seem at all interested in acknowledging those waiting in the queue. The treats they have look fantastic so we waited a good 20 minutes, in that time ONE group were served, several people left behind us and all others in front of us left- which is exactly what we ended up doing. I really hope it’s different on a standard day

Best Chocolate cake I've ever had!! Me and my girlfriend and I went here today and we absolutely loved the matilda cake!! The service was excellent, extremely friendly and polite staffs!! We will definitely be back again!

Absolutely dreadful ‘ service ‘ . There was only one other customer in the shop , We waited at the till to be served for over ten minutes, eventually put our order in . Then waited half an hour for our order which was then wrong so I was not happy . There were two staff members and I’ve no idea why they took so long with our order or got it wrong. Female staff member with red/ ginger hair was rude and unapologetic. The owner needs to sort this out as custom will be lost.

I’ve tried couple of milkshakes, the one with cookies and cream is fantastic!! Cookie sandwich is an absolute dream. I’m in love.

If you have ever watched the original movie of Matilda and thought the cake that Bruce Bogtrotter eats looked amazing, Mrs Pott's chocolate house has a cake called "Matilda cake" that tastes exactly how I imagined the cake from the film to taste. Wonderful.

Popped in for a hot chocolate. Nice surroundings. Helpful staff. One of the best Ive tried. Will be back next time I'm in Cardiff.

My friends and I came to the Christmas pudding club which we'd really been looking forward to. We paid nearly £30 each for 3 courses plus a drink. We had a lovely evening catching up and chatting but honestly, the food was a bit of a let down. We were greeted with a white hot chocolate which was very nice. The courses were brought out very promptly with discrete yet attentive service. The first was a mixed platter of pretzels, candy canes, cookies etc along with two chocolate dips. We were given two of the platters shown in the photo to share between 3. It was enjoyable, the dips were nice & I liked the social sharing aspect but it was a bit heavy on the cookies and short on components which would have added some variety such as fruit, marshmallows and other types of cake. The second course was a chocolate baked alaska, with a brownie base and very sweet ice cream (possibly white chocolate flavoured?). I'm not sure this really worked - baked alaska, in my opinion, requires a relatively plain sponge to balance the sweetness of the ice cream and meringue. We all have a sweet tooth but felt it was overpoweringly sweet and rich and we couldn't finish it for this reason. The final course was (more) cookies. We received two each, both iced. We were given food dyes, brushes and cellophane wrap on our table so we could paint them and take them home. This was a fun activity we enjoyed. They were super delicious too, the spicy chocolate one particularly so. Overall, however, the food was a bit underwhelming. I'd really hoped for a more satisfying "main", ideally something hot. I don't feel it was particularly good value for money and had expected a little more for the price. I think it is worth another try though. From following Instagram etc, many of the other Pudding Club menus have looked spectacular and the premise - three courses of dessert- is definitely on the money! So perhaps we were just unlucky with the selection of courses for this particular event.

I was really pleased to find somewhere open until 8pm that wasn't a bar! The staff are helpful and nice and the coffee and hot-chocolate are good, if a little expensive. The cakes weren't great tbh (especially at the price). I will go back because there aren't many places which are open in the evening and it is nice in there, maybe it just wasn't a good cake day for some reason. (Note - the toilets are fown a long flight of stairs).

Probably the best hot chocolate we have drunk, rich, smooth and dark. Warning, not the cheapest hot chocolate but worth it in my view. Cakes looked amazing but were not tried on this occasion

Hot choc was nothing out of the ordinary and very pricey at over £4 a cup. The two girls behind the counter were more interested in chatting to each other than serving customers. We waited ages for our drinks even though it wasn't busy and...

This is a really lovely cake shop with lots of choice, amazing cakes and the hot chocolate was to die for. Definitely worth a visit if your in the town centre.
