Pathetic food service.Stictly No.Cheap Quality.

Tried it there was once on the back of a recommendation, now I go in there on a weekly basis for lunch, great choice of curries, nan bread’s and rice. The guy who serves behind the counter, really helpful and polite, also always good with his recommendations. I would recommend this place without hesitation, great food and good value for money.

Easy vegan food in Central Cardiff. I tried the tarka dal and punjabi choley over pilav rice with coriander naan as a side. Lots of food for 10 pounds!

Good stuffs : Nothing Not soo Good stuffs : 1. The attitude of the staff was too bad, I didn't like it at all. 2. Food was half cooked. When told about that the response was kind of don't care.. 3. The rice and pakora were not fully cooked. 4. The taste was ok ok. Wouldn't prefer to go again , not because of the half cooked food, it's because of their attitude towards their customers.

Wrong food received. Cannot eat lamb. I ordered chicken. Fast delivery and nice enough delivery guy. The loud music in a enclosed street is quite annoying however.

Ordered Chicken Madrasi gravy today and we literally didn’t even get a single chicken piece in it. And do you call this chicken gravy? I’ve paid £7 only for the gravy base. This is totally unacceptable. Never going to order anything again from here.👎👎👎

We came here three times during our stay in Cardiff. Whereas my travel companion tried out different curry boxes, I just sticked with the chicken tandoori naan wrap as it simply was that good. Everything we tried was delicious and prepared quickly. The staff was very welcoming and explained all the available dishes on request. I wish we had such a great Indian takeaway at home. Wish the guys all the best for the future! Keep up the great job!

I think the manager should hire more people to work rather than putting it all on a few people Please hire more chef to cook “Indian food”. The food is only for the people who won’t understand what actually Indian food tastes like. Please change the some other name from “Indian”

First visit to the Indian Express on Caroline Street, Cardiff Central. Great welcome at the counter. The staff member was extremely helpful with what food was available. The selection of food was nicely displayed. All food is freshly cooked on premises. On my visit I had Chicken Jalfrezi, vegetable rice with an onion bhaji and a soft drink. Would I return again, yes.

This is my first time coming here and I got to say, I was very pleased with both the service and the food. I had Chicken Jalfrezi & Vindaloo with Pilau Rice, along with Peshwari Naan Bread and Mango Lassi and it was all very good. I will definitely be coming here again. 5/5.

I came here once before , it wasnt too bad last time. This time i visited, it was crammed, service wasnt great either, had to eat in boxes, to my surprise i wasnt informed of this before i ordered , the man serving told me while i was waiting for my food that there we no plates , the tables were dirty and the atmosphere was smelly and I did not feel comfortable eating there. Will not be going again, unless they buy some disposable dishes, be more organised, work on the quality of their service, improve the atmosphere; the food was decent not too bad.

Very poor experience. When I reached the shop the guy said fryers are not working so no starters for today. And also the food seems not fresh.

I went here to have lunch and it was wonderful. The food was great, well priced and large portions. All you can really ask for. I thougherly recommend checking them out especially of you're vegetarian.

Blumming heck, we popped in here at about 5ish, i was absolutely chuffed with the choice and quality of the curries, rice, and dhal. My hubby had sides too. I'm coeliac so most were gluten free as were the poppadoms, the guy serving knew exactly what I could eat. There was so much in the serving, we brought it home,,,... On a side not, if you know about quality of long grain rice, this was the loveliest,,, wish they did delivery to ours... Drooling at the memory. Thanks guys x

I am disgusted by how I was treated as a black person. I came with a few friends and we all ordered and I felt like a problem the entire time. I order through their deal and asked my specifications and they were very strict about it which I felt okay with at the time. My friend who was of a different ethnicity of mine did the same but there was a lot more care and customer service given to them in a way that was not given to me. My friend also shared that her portions was vastly different which we can share because we did a side by side shot. The response and customer I felt was very racial… I will never return and I will actively share on my blog that you should never go here.

This place is a must when you need a quick bite on your way home or between venues, good food, great people!

After an 8 hour drive it was a godsend to find this place. Really nice food, really nice staff and a decent price.

Had known about this place for a while. So actually made the effort to try it. Great idea to speed up the traditional Indian dining experience. A take on the wok to walk kind of thing. The Curries tasted good. A little bit watery if you're used to the thicker curries. But I realise it's a faster food version to serve you fast etc. And in honesty it's not bad. I had a hot jalfrezi and a mild korma and the flavours were there just about. The Spring rolls and Peshwari naan as added sides. Wasn't sure about the spring rolls not what I expected, wouldn't order them again. Naan was nice but slow coming. Overall it was nice and tasty enough just not amazing. Slightly awkward eating from a Box, the plastic folks weren't quite strong enough really but that's my only issue. Overall decent for the price.

Meat wasn’t real got a mega box was just industrial waste. Had 5 bits of so called meat and felt like blowing the bog. The food was 13 pounds was no chips It was just chilli sauce salad and processed meat

Walking through town needed a quick fix. I was drawn to the shop like a moth with its bright lights and well lit food display which all looked outta this world. The shop does exactly what it says on the tin with its streetfood menu. All curries served look very watery and put me off bar the chicken tikka masala which was thickened by the cream. So i bought that with chips, fair to say portions were decent. However, for streetfood i paid restaurant prices. Needless to say i did enjoy the meal and the keema nan was delicious with fresh green chilis. The workers had no regards for the customers. One of them was lugging what seemed to be chicken fillets in bags and placed them on the floor on shop floor -not hygienic. And the other guy, who made the bangin nan, was walking around like a goon with his hood on- abit of an antagonist. While i was eating my meal he walks upto me encourages me to eat the keema nan, which was half eaten, as if i was about to toss the bread across the road unto the philharmonic. Very unprofessional.

We got there at around 1pm on a Sunday, really looking forward to Indian cuisine. The member of staff serving us had no customer service at all, fairly rude. Portions really small in comparison to the price. Food wasn’t terrible but definitely not up to par. Won’t be back again.

Amazing restaurant!! Has the real taste of Indian streets. If you've forgotten the taste of Indian street food or are craving for some, it is the right place to be. Quick service, reasonable rates, Super friendly staff (pro tip: they would let you be the DJ if you request them🤪) . I came to Cardiff for the long weekend and discovered this jewel, would definitely suggest you to go there and calm your hunger. Believe me, you'd love it, just like I did!

Worst experience ever , it’s disgusting , don’t eat here , add some extra pounds and eat at a good Indian or Asian restaurant and don’t loose your money here you will be really disappointed ( even the prices are expensive comparing to the quality ) I used to love Indian food but now I will need a break of few months to be able to go to an Indian restaurant again !!!! Really disgusting 🤢

Great service, delicious food! The medium box is perfect size and you get two pick two currys of your choice! We also ordered a cheesy naan bread but was too go to take a photo. Been here before and the food is always so good and convenient 😎🙂 In total, spent around £17 for two medium box meals, each with a side, naan and two drinks 👌🏼

Customer service is great, the staff were super friendly and informative. I had a lamb seekh wrap, peshwari naan and pakoras. The Wrap was incredible and the peshwari naan reminded me of a naan shop I used to go to when I was younger. Loved it and can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

I visited the shop yesterday, and there was a guy from Karachi who made amazing samosa chat for me and my friends. I'm sorry I can't remember his name, but the manager will know who I'm referring to. The taste and portion sizes were so perfect that there was a balance between the tangy, spicy, and amazing flavours. Kuddos to service !!

Good place to eat when feeling home sick , but very mild spices..

Had a bad experience at this place. 4 of us had gone for takeaway. The person when we went initially said it opens at 1. We came at 1. No one was there. After sometime one person came ( who had earlier told us to come later) and he was just fiddling around without bothering to ask what we wanted. When asked he said he does not care for us. Earlier when I had vegetarian dishes the taste was so so.

Pretty good quantities, the food is fresh and choices are great. Tried the chicken tikka masala and jalfrezi. Wraps are good too and pretty filling.

This place looks like a vegan fast food place but we queued for 10+ minutes just to be told the vegan option would take 20 minutes to cook! Left very disappointed.

Passing by and needed a bite to eat so ordered a tandoori wrap. Made fresh in front of me and tasted great. Will call back when I'm in the area to try again for sure.

Unfortunately ordered for the first time on Just Eat today and was dissapointed. Only had half the food delivered and when we called the store just given the excuse that it was busy. We understand this as people who work in hospitality especially when busy but it is your job to ensure everything is in the bag before the driver leaves and organise yourselves. Because of half my order missing I had to request a refund through Just Eat taking two hours on online chat and this was done during the time I was meant to be celebrating a birthday with family. Honestly the food that turned up wasn't too bad but because of this experience I don't know if I could afford to take the chance on them again.

Stopped for a quick lunch today choosing the wrap. The actual wrap was made fresh there and the filling was amazing. It was that good I'm going back later 🐷

Just popped in this evening and had a large box meal with my wife. I had pilau rice with a meat samosa and tikka masala and butter chicken. Very big portions and the food was lovely. The man at the till was very helpful with the deals etc. Well worth the visit and definitely go back. Very good value for money too.

Excellent tikka paneer wrap, the paneer is so creamy and delicious and being wrapped in a tandoor cooked to order bread makes is unbeatable. Excellent food, wonderful staff. Can't recommend enough.

Food looks appetiting but really really disappointed. 1) the main staff who was at the till seemed quite arrogant and confident about the food. 2) personally I didn’t like the food.Even though there taste is different with different individual. 3) pros- rice and chole + daal tadaka was not too bad - average. Their tandoor roti was really good. Cons - the tikka box - just tasted - chicken and lettuce with carrots mixed in some chilly and mayo .No indian taste. The chicken tikka curry looked so appetitizing but it didn’t even taste upto an average curry. It was just a gaby mixed with tomato paste.

Had wrap here several times and always was very tasty, also service was good. After todays visit not gonna go back: very stingy portions, not welcoming personnel, didnt even get any tissues.

Best Indian restaurant ever i found in the UK. Great indian food and authentic taste. Fresh samosa, naan and paneer masala. I recommend to every indian food lover to try this place at least once.

The service is super friendly, very good prices. The samosa wasn't great, neither was the dish I had, but the naan was delicious and made in the moment.

Loved it. First visit and was a great selection. To see the naan cooked fresh then and there was a treat. Will be a regular lunch spot for me.

For £3.99 I got a Naan baked in a tandoor before my eyes, stuffed with a large quantity of 'chilli paneer', topped with coriander. Wrapped in foil and then bagged, and it must have weighed over a pound. It was delicious and really filling. Top notch!

Absolutely awful. I have never seen a line move so slowly. The staff are all clueless. They don't serve people in order. They force food on you. "Sorry no chips, have to make more" Opted for rice instead couldn't wait much longer had already been in the shop for 15 minutes "It's ok ok. I make chips. They in the fryer now" Again opted to have rice (which was ready instead) "No no. I give you chips." Again asked for rice they ignore me. The quality of the food was terrible. Wasn't given a fork. It took 20 minutes. This is a takeaway. It's called fast food for a reason. How they're still in business is beyond me.

Authentic Indian, Chef is passionate about the flavour!! Pick and match is my thing, good variety, my fav is jalfrezi/chilli/butter chicken. Ive tried wraps, lamb/chicken theyre good as well. Yet to try so much more!

As someone who grew up with an Indian grandfather I can confirm this is my new favourite place . The roti was perfect and the pakora was just like my grandad used to make. I had the street style chicken curry which was beautiful and the butter chicken which was also beautiful along with pilau rice which was fluffy and buttery. Tandoori looks divine so that is what I want when I go back. Cannot recommend enough for the quality, price and the service was great. 2 curries, rice with a bit of poppadom, pakora and roti all for £7.50 ! Worth every penny.

Exciting new place on Caroline Street that makes a nice change to the usual fast food. A real tasty & fresh variety of food, great menu concept, a very helpful & friendly owner, great prices & portion sizes and really well displayed food so you can see exactly what you want. Lush meat and vegan options for everyone. These guys deserve to do well and I hope they do.

Wow just tried here, the food is absolutely amazing, sooo tasty and one of the best Indian meals I've eaten...so lucky to have found this place the chef obviously knows his stuff because the food is delicious, I give this place a 10/10....
