Mrs M's Fish And Chips in East Lindsey

It’s bad when fish and chips locally are better than those in villages next to sea. This unfortunately is one of those. Very overpriced and not at all worth the money places like this stay open not because they’re good but because there’s a stream of new customers every day. Our friend order the fritter which was basically a paper like thin crisp battered not at all like we get around here that are nice and thick and cost half that what was paid. Never again

*** Excellent chips *** first time using this chippy today and could nearly say it was the best meal av had from a chippy in ingomells fish chips with mushy peas and a bread bun all seemed fresh tasted spot on and at a decent price will definitely return in the future Just to add the mushy peas where home made am sure taste much nicer then others in the area

This is a review!! Went a couple of years ago and wasn't great but iv been to all 3 now and each time the fish is cooked to order and is absolutely amazing! very close to the best iv ever had! guys give it a try, something has changed and definitely for the better

we visited Ingoldmells today, Mrs M's fish & chips were a real treat crispy batter, white fish, top notch chips....served by the lovely Kim, what a credit to the shop you are ! nothing too much trouble. you had us all laughing especially my mum Thanks again we will be back 😋

Nice fish and chips, eat in, outside or takeaway. Quick service, nice staff

We came two days on the trot. Fish was beautiful. Kebab was equally as nice. The only difference on the second day the portion size of the kebab was much smaller which was the same order as the day before. Staff friendly and pleasant. Thank you.

Jack was lovely and a really nice chap, he gave a lady a fresh portion of food when she dropped it and gave her some burn cream for her hand. He was lovely with us also, nothing is too much to ask. We'll done jack 😀

Kim was amazing,great food beautiful interior great. Located at Fantasy island good value,likes a spam fritter my wife she really enjoyed hers. 10/10.

Myself, partner and Daughter live 45 minutes from Skegness and whenever we fancy a fish and chips we ALWAYS come to Mrs Ms at the Pyramid in Fantasy Island. They are absolutely lovely in there, the food is always cooked fresh no matter what time of day, the place has a lovely atmosphere and is clean whenever we walk in. We are greeted with the up most respect, a happy smile from each staff member is presented. We love this place and the staff, they are amazing. Do not listen to any bad review said about this place. We drive here nearly weekly and it’s the best experience every time. We love you guys - Steve, Katie & Roo 🫶🏻❤️

Food serving is massive. Chips were amazing. Kim, one of the waitresses, was very helpful and accommodating.

Very unprofessional staff and not very friendly, rather be on there phone then do any work.

First time eating here, friendly staff, food was fresh to order and only took 10 minutes. We had the gigantic fish and chips, massive potion well worth the money, nice and hot. The fish was one of the best I have had in Skegness and ingoldmells. Would definitely recommend and will be back again.

Lost order, sat waiting for ages. Was asked to write order down. Lady came to ask if we'd had our meals yet? Didn't seem bothered, no apology. Food was OK when we eventually got it.

Honest to god the shortest food I’ve ever tasted and the service is shocking, the all round atmosphere here is appalling.

Best chip's i ever had in years

We visited yesterday as a family of 6. We have two disabled children and no you can't physically see their disabilities however my son had struggled all day with the atmosphere, the sounds, the people. He had struggled and still battled through, ontop of his disabilities he's also got suspected autism. Upon our entry into this establishment we were met with the rudest woman I've ever met who ignored us at first and struggled to fit the glass sliding doors back into the hot cupboard again. When she finally turned round she said "what do you want?!!" very abruptly. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact we were needing to feed the children before a 2 hour drive home I'd probably of said "absolutely nothing" and walked out at this point but we needed to feed the kids and our car was in the campsite nextdoor. We told her what 3 of our children wanted, my husband and I asked for two large sausages, there were a few fresh ones in the hot cabinet but she decided to give us old dry small sausages instead. They went in the bin. While I'm trying to get my 8 year old to tell me what he would like to eat while he's already being overwhelmed the man who was cooking shouted over to the lady at the counter "anything else?" And this woman shouted " I dunno I'm still waiting for them to figure that out" in such an awful tone. My son at this point was obviously picking up on her attitude and burst into tears. So I chose for my son, I then at this point should tell you that one of mine and my husbands first jobs was in a chippy so I did what she should have done, I read my order back to her, she had missed a meal off and when I tell you she jumped down my throat " I know I missed it you took too long with him deciding what he wanted to eat". I don't even know how I kept my cool. I didn't say anything but we paid walked out and it's taken until now for me to decide to say something after reading many other comments regarding this rude woman!! If you can't understand that disabilities come in all different shapes and sizes, you shouldn't be working in a customer service based role. No one was behind us, we were the only ones in the chip shop until we were almost walking out so no need to be so rude. You ruined our whole day, you upset my son and us as his parents and god knows how many others you'd spoken to that day. There's no reason for being rude when you could clearly see we were trying to help our son. You should be sacked quite frankly and if you own the place then hire someone else to deal with the customers because you my love are Vile. Food was old, curry sauce standard chip shop curry sauce. Not big portions and dry old small sausages. Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend. Absolutely vile.

Just left the Chapel St Leonards branch (19:15hrs) after queuing 15 minutes, got to the counter to be told abruptly they are not frying any more fish! Rubbish customer service, won’t ever be trying their food in the future!

Visited today and got the battered chips which were excellent. We didn't stop for long so I can't comment too much on atmosphere etc but everyone was friendly and I'd definitely come back. Prices are also incredibly reasonable, I assumed given it's location etc that I'd get completely done over on price but they're cheaper than our chippy at home and have a much broader menu

Woman that works behind the counter is deaf. Missed off a large portion of our order then refused to add it on afterwards.

We ate here yesterday, 5 of us. 3 had fish including me, delicious! Chips were lovely! 2 had battered sausage and burger.. all thoroughly enjoyed. Reasonably priced also!

Visited here for the first time and really enjoyed them especially the chips Fish was lovely too. Fresh and tasty. No complaints at all. Sat outside.

We was first customers of the day on Friday they was so nice and welcoming to us it was so windy and they let us wait inside the fish was so nice and chips so fresh my husband forgot the mushy peas and the owner gave it to us for free super nice people will definitely be back when we come sea side and thank you for everything

We were looking for a good fish & chip place to eat & by far this was the best fish & chips we have ever had. Kim & Toms customer service was fab really friendly & welcoming. everything was cooked from fresh & with a light crispy batter too highly recommend the curry sauce too. We will deffo be back again on our next visit thank you so much!

I’m being kind by giving this place a 1* . The miserable woman on the counter really added to my lovely holiday experience, then point blank ignoring me when i asked for forks, to find out they’re 20p after i’ve already paid. Food was stone cold and we waited 10 minutes for a doner meat & chips. The man behind the counter was unhygienically unclogging the sink all over the counter with his full moon shining. Worst chippy i’ve ever had.

Nice chips ,fish tasted nice but the batter is far too thick and comes off in one big piece . Asked for scraps but they don't do them .not a nice atmosphere , no chit chat . It's a shame as its a good location .a friendlier welcome and a better batter and it would be a good Chippy

Well where do I start ! , asked for a large chips and what I got was what looked like a kids portion of scrappy chips , I've also never seen a battered sausage look so anemic!!!! ... as for the service the old grey haired trout that served us was absolutely miserable , rude and very unhelpful the only thing lower than the food quality was her IQ If your having a nice holiday or day out please don't ruin your mood by going here because the last thing you will get is a decent bit of food and a warm welcome.

Very slow service even tho it wasn’t busy at all, staff miserable and rude, no customer service skills not welcoming make u feel uncomfortable, food also not the best quality very over cooked fish half couldn’t be eaten as it was rock solid, atleast chips and gravy where average, the staff could really learn some manners and how to speak and treat the customers no need for snarky comments and snappy reply’s if they don’t want to be there they shouldn’t be, why should they ruin someone’s holiday with her awful mood there is no need for that what so ever will never eat there again, it was once mine and my family’s favourite chip shop in all of skeg it’s now the worst, I would understand if the customers where rude or snappy first but when you approach with a smile and positive attitude and are met with miserable snarky rude team it’s unacceptable and very unpleasant, Im very dissatisfied with the service I’ve received

Terrible customer service. Pure rudeness from the “man” behind the counter. Came in around 8:45pm when they shut at 10. Said he couldn’t do pies and when a large group of us ordered food he gave the worst customer service. Moody and unhelpful. Refusing the kids mayo when asked. Burgers was a sorry excuse of a meal. When confronted about his lack of customer service skills he just said oh. And also questioned us on if we usually spend this much on take aways. There was 3 family’s of 4 Sack this guy. If he is the owner I hope he closes down ASAP

This place is a joke, this woman right here went out to smoke a spliff mid shift and came back high, Customer service is shocking. Was told we wasn’t allowed to have 2 forks to share a meal between the two of us and if we wanted one we needed to pay for one. Woman is rude and inconsiderate. Talking about inappropriate things infront of customers. It was raining and we had to stand outside because of the que and staff were laughing at us. Wouldn’t recommend this place its food is lovely when they can be arsed to put effort in. The staff are rude though.

Lovely fish and chips but a shame the staff was rude and didn't talk. Asked for scraps but they said "we don't do scraps" in an aggressive way. Got haddock and cod mixed up and forgot my curry.

We have always picked this chippy every year we come to Skegness/ Fantasy Island without a doubt. Food is always so good.

Please be aware the chips served here are NOT vegetarian and there is no signage stating that they are cooked in beef dripping. I only discovered this after overhearing a conversation at the counter after starting to eat mine. As a vegetarian you can imagine the horror. The counter staff kind of apologised but didn’t seem bothered or offer a refund therefore the food was wasted. Not a great experience.

Went to Mrs M’s yesterday. My fish and chips was fine but my girlfriends was absolutely terrible. Her fish was a disgrace. The worst part was the miserable old woman with short hair working behind the counter. Made the experience absolutely terrible. She has a bad attitude problem and I’m afraid a lot of customers won’t be wanting to deal with her in the future

Food was really nice. Got a family meal,2 main and 2 kids portions,4 sides and a bottle of pop for £22. Fish was skinless and boneless and as white as snow,really nice. Staff on the other hand.....what a bunch of miserable people,no other customers in the shop,I tried to make conversation with them but all I got back was "what do you want". Went back 2 days later as food was really good and told them that and that's why I came back for 2nd's....their reply..."what do you want". Good food,lousy customer service,if it was a choice of eating inside the shop or going elsewhere I would definitely go elsewhere as I wouldn't want to be seated near them for 20 mins despite how nice the food was

Lovely lady at the till gave my dog a free sausage. Fish and chips were really nice as well. Definitely recommend :)

Lovely fish and chips , at the end of the night . Gave our dog a wrapped up sausage as they were closing , such a nice touch .

People please check reviews for places you eat wish I did . Fish was already precooked so it comes out dry ,disgusting rancid waste of food. Chips and fish have old black bits of oil on them and have a funny taste, kids fish finger inedible,I don't know how the woman who served me could hand over food like that, embarrassing. The old woman with grey short bob was quite stern and rude, I have a condition that affects my thinking levels so try to order food wherever I go instead of relying on my partner to do , occasionally he's by my side to reply for me if I get confused. Although the woman would not have known that I have a disability and I came across as ditzy when I struggled to process what she was saying, she rudely rolled her eyes. Miserable woman doesn't take much to be kind and give a smile ,especially when your working where there should be good standard of customer service !!

Not a bad chippy, been here a few times now chip's are never soggy or greasy. Could do better keeping the tables outside clean and the floor. Yes there are bins provided outside but not everyone uses them. Nice friendly service.

Stopped off for a family lunch good food, good portions and reasonably priced .. Nice tasty fish and curry sauce was spot on . Thank you Table of 12 sat outside..

Don't waste your money, fish dried out, obviously cooked in batches then left in hot cupboard, chips cold, observed staff outside smoking then come back into shop and they did not wash their hands

Absolutely awful, paid £19 for 3 kids meals (nuggets chips curry sauce) curry sauce was like water portions were tiny. Regular sausage and chips sausage was tiny! Then a cheeseburger and supposed regular chips which was a miniscule corner of chips that were dry and stale and a cheeseburger that was absolutely awful... dry stale cob, undercooked burger. Never going here again honestly stay away not worth it!

Called in yesterday. One of us had the large haddock and chips and the other the large cod. Both fish were snowy white, very tasty and cooked to perfection by Kat. It was a really big portion too and great value at £7.90 each with lots of chips included. Seats outside facing the sun and 3 tables inside at no extra cost. Definitely visiting again will be our 1st choice now. (We visited no 1 there is a number 2 nearby)

I have to say, these were the worst chips I have ever tasted! I’m not sure how you can even ruin chips to this degree. So dry and very stale. I drowned mine in vinegar and gravy to see if I could rehydrate them 🤢🤮

Me and my parents and neighbour and her kids came to skeg for the day decide to have this trandional fish and chips ... when we got it mine wasn't cooked the battered sausage wasn't cooked enough was all white inside and dead doughty... the curry sauce wasn't nice either the fish wasn't cooked and tasted horrible very disappointed with it all .

Previously had a good lunch from Mrs Ms. Never going back again. Absolutely shocking service and food was poor! New member of staff obviously abit slow but looked like he had no training poor lad. Then when the till broke they sent him to get someone. They then proceeded to slag him off infront of customers. Items missing and confronting them to be told we was lying. Never coming back, would rather eat raw broccoli

My family and I visited Mrs M's today. The food was spot on but I will not be going back there again. Customer service (lady in 50's with short dark hair at the till) was absolutely digraceful! Attitude stinks! Absolutely no need to be so rude with people. Manners cost nothing! As I can see from previous reviews this is an ongoing issue and nothing has been done about it. If it were possible I would have given it 0 stars.

I went on Wednesday 2nd September 2020, service off lady server at 4pm was awful, I was told to wait to be shouted of which I did, she shouted and no one got up to collect food so I went in and said is this mine she never even looked just said yes with her back to me,I sat outside with my daughter she then came outside and shouted loud enough for everyone to hear they aren't yours, of which I apologized, she then went to a table and made it clear she was talking about my order that I should have had peas and was not getting them, laughing with the people I have never been treated like this before and felt uncomfortable sat eating them, The problem with bad service is you don't know who your serving or who they are, I will be listing this as a place not to visit for quality service but food excellent well-done to the fryer.

If you like moldy bread this is the place to go and as for the staff, they need to go back to school and learn some manners

M for minging? Fish chips n peas twice £12.99 I thought the peas where curry as they where more brown than green. Chips are as white as snow! The one star was for the cod, it was ok! Would I go again? NO!

Best chip shop on the east coast. Never disappoints.
