Terrible service, meal was served far later than others whom I was eating with, requested water 5 times before receiving. Inattentive and sloppy, overpriced menu for what you got. Would not return

You can enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine in a comfortable and high end atmosphere which served by a team of high calibre chefs and waiters.

Restaurant and atmosphere was lovely, food was very nice. However, we found the service rushed, and the food arriving 5 minutes after ordering was far to quick for my liking.

Always excellent food, full of flavour, reasonable portion. Meat is always beautifully tender. Service is attentive but not bothersome. A real favourite.

I have reviewed Mr Laus before however I am such a regular I feel it deserves an update! My Husband and I often come here for dimsum on a Sunday. It's always excellent. We order far too much, take a doggy bag home and then pass out on the sofa in a food coma! My favourite is the siu long bao, my Husbands is the char siu cheung fun (you don't often see this on menus). Others that are top notch are the prawn toast, fan gor, har gau, siu mai.... however all of it is really really good. We usually order a (not from!) singapore vermicelli also and it's honestly the best I've had - I have lived in Hong Kong and I think Mr Laus Singapore Vermicelli beats any I had there hands down. Service is always really friendly and we like sitting in the bar area as the atmosphere is good. It's not as cheap as other Chinese resraurants but it's worth it.

Amazing meal, the wait staff are a bit slow but the corner booth we were in was such s great seat, we all didn't mind waiting.

We booked in advance to ensure a table as it’s really popular. Service was so quick and the staff were really accommodating and lovely, can’t praise them enough. Food was incredible, I’ve never had a bad meal there - the beef and pork belly were cooked to perfection, and the wonton soup was served piping hot. Amazing place, wonderful staff and beautiful food!

Ordered take away and paid restaurant rates, £56 for 2 main courses and 3 plain rice. Food was excellent, I would recommend the restaurant but advise against what is an expensive takeaway.

What a great place. Food was excellent and the staff very attentive. We had the lunchtime ‘set’ menu that had a good range to pick from ….the Korean chicken was superb - well in fact it was all superb.

Visited for the very first time and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely staff and service, service was extremely quick might be nice to have a bit of a gap between courses, also food was very tasty but slightly over salted dishes as not used to personally so much salt, still tasty though restaurant is very dimly lit so hard to read menus lol a bit more lighting needed around tables will definitely return but just a few areas need addressing

Went last night for a birthday meal. They sang happy birthday and lit candles on a cake for us, which was lovely of them to do. Staff very attentive and lovely with us, including the children with their annoying orders. Nothing was too much trouble. 50% off mains was good as we ordered plenty of food. We took leftovers home in takeaway containers with no fuss. Only issue we had was no lift, so was a bit difficult for less able bodied in the group to do the stairs, but they triumphed and we had a lovely meal. They also made the kids feel special with Nutella spring rolls which went down a treat and made others who didn't come out very jealous.

The Christmas lunch banquet was lovely! Great portion sizes for the prices, we almost couldn’t finish because we were so full :) Delish food for such a great price. Great service and atmosphere

We visited this restaurant a few weeks ago, the service was slow which we expected during a busy weekend however, the service from staff was not what we expected. I ordered the honey chicken and I could have just made it at home, it was just dry chicken nuggets in a sticky sauce. For the food was of poor quality and yet such a high price. On another table we seen what appeared the manager spill a tray of expresso martinis over a woman.

Like mr laus but not today left us for half a hour for dessert and then came up and asked us to leave as people were coming in 2mins if they had given us our dessert on time we would of left early if it is this bad this week what is going to be next week and we have been this time of the year before and its been great

Lovely family meal. The food was brilliant and there is such a wide range on the menu. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant looks incredible. Didn't realise that 12.5% gratuity was automatically added which took total to nearly £500. We didn't get a birthday cake/song despite asking for one when four others did.

My calamari was quite tough, the cauliflower crisp was bland with no seasoning, although my wife's Korean chicken starter was very nice. The mains were of a reasonable size, but even on the early diner deal, dinner for 4 came to over £170, which it simply wasn't worth. The screaming child didn't help the lack luster atmosphere

It's challenging to find good restaurants in Warrington, but Mr. Laus never disappoints. Each time we've been here the food and service has been great.

Bill came to £145 for two people. This is the third time we have been to Mr Lous to try their “famous” lobster deal where you get a bottle of champagne with any 2pb Lobster which is only on Fridays. Each time we have been they have had NO lobster! Food we did order was extremely overpriced, dry and unpleasant. Duck spring rolls (£7) hardly had any meat in them, just stuffed with a load of Veg. Honey Chicken (£18) was basically 8 chicken nuggets on a plate with NO Sauce! We had to share the sauce from another main. Prawn toast (£14) was awful! It is basically one piece of toast stuffed with more than the usual amount of Prawns. It was dry and taste was overwhelming with the amount of prawns stuffed in there. King Dum Po Chicken (£24) + calamari (£4) =£28 total for a main without any rice or chips! You could tell they reduced the portion size just to add the Calamari. Portion was mainly veg with little meat…. AGAIN! Tried to order drinks with the porter who brings food to the table which he said he’ll get a staff member to come over. 15 minutes later no one came. I had my meal with no drink. We was in the booth right next to the bar so I had to go up and order it myself. Cocktail took another 10 minutes to come. Drinks were overpriced due to the lack of complimentary champagne with the lobster (which we called and was assured they would have on!). Service was extremely slow, waited 20 minutes to get a waiters attention to pay the bill. You could spot way off who the owner was as she was stomping around the restaurant piercing looks at the staff. The concept of this restaurant is amazing, But the delivery on service, food, affordability and customer service have been compromised by its former reputation which once held this establishment in such a high pedestal. Now, it seems it’s got more expensive without any improvement on its service. It is the kind of restaurant you try once just for experience, but retention of customers is defiantly an issue this restaurant faces. Restaurant itself was designed with a gorgeous interior with good lighting. But, I wouldn’t be deceived.

Went for a family day out at Gullivers world which is close by; was looking for some decent food for afterwards and saw that this was quite an expensive Chinese eatery, in my mind that made me think it was going to be fantastic food. Unfortunately I was disappointed it was fast food at fancy restaurant prices £100 bill for salt and pepper chicken £7 for salt and pepper chips and I’ve had more flavourful ones from a chippy, everything was under-seasoned and the chicken was bouncy over cooked and dry. Was really quite upset with it. The only good thing was the firecracker beef but even that was really simple and not worth the price tag.. service was great thought couldn’t knock that.

I’m disappointed in an order placed last week. Last Friday, as a special treat to celebrate my brothers GCSE results,we decided to try this Chinese after hearing about it. Excited to try it, we placed an order for around £100 worth of food. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and let down. The portions were very small for the prices, we paid £7 for salt and pepper chips to receive a stingy handful of chips. We paid £14 for salt and pepper ribs and were shocked that the ribs were small with hardly any meat on them and weren’t even battered. The fried rice was awful, it appeared as though it was boiled rice mixed in with clumps of scrambled egg, absolutely no flavour. The salt and pepper chicken was a small portion again, half the box consisted of useless garnishes and fried onions. The squid was the only nice component of the meal as it was tender. The sweet and sour pork, char Sui buns and everything else was average. Definitely not worth the £100 bill, especially after my little brother had used his savings to pay for it and was let down. Definitely much better Chineses in the Warrington area, such as the Choy Hing.

Been wanting to visit for a while so stopped in for an impromptu dinner when in the area. Lots of great deals for dim sum and early dinner menu deals. Service was brilliant and food was incredible.

Always a treat to go to Mr Lau's. Lunchtime buffet is gorgeous & tremendous value.

Orderd confused lobster got 2 small pieces of lobster and 5 prawns very small for the price it was nice but was dripping in grease all over the table and spilled down onto the floor. Cocktails were nice

Excellent food and five-star hotel service

I used to love mr laus and would rave about it to friends and family. However after visiting at the weekend I won't be returning. It was uncomfortably cold, to the point of shivering and couldn't enjoy my meal. I ordered the pad Thai which was extremely disappointing - no flavour at all , no peanut or egg flavour and the 'noodles' were just inch long slippery white things that my friend thought was fish. Very sad to see it's not up to the standard it used to be.

The food was hit and miss. To start the menu to view the dishes was a mess and too confusing. The starters were hit and miss with portion sizes varying and no flavour. The salt and pepper chicken was just salt and that's about it. The salt and pepper ribs. I'd swerve as there the worst ribs I've ever had. The surf and turf portion was disgusting for £45. Everyone I know raves about this restaurant but after spending £310.50 I can officially say it's shocking. Not worth the money. Wouldn't return.

A really great restaurant, amazing food prompt and friendly service and a great atmosphere

Always brilliant, this is our favourite restaurant and has been for some time. We love that the food is cooked in full view of the restaurant - it comes piping hot and delicious. Almost lost a star on the service rating as a waiter took my partners finished plate while I was still eating, I didn't mind as I'm a slow eater but he said that almost spoiled the excellent service experience, as some of the waiting staff they have had here have gone above and beyond. We'll definitely be back!

We've been meaning to visit here for ages, to try the dim sum menu, and it did not disappoint. We booked a table online, and were shown to a choice of tables on arrival. We appreciated the check box and pen ordering for the dim sum as that made it easy to order. Prawn crackers were brought to the table with our drinks, and we selected the duck and pancakes as a starter, followed by a selection of bao buns, dumplings and spring rolls to share, along with sides of egg rice and noodles. All staff were friendly and the restaurant looked freshly refurbished, with everything looking clean and new. We'll definitely be back, thanks.

Me and my partner come here on Friday. We will deffo be retuning her again. Food was amazing! If you like dim sum - you’ll love it here not only that the food we had along side that was stunning . I had duck breast and my partner had belly pork and we really enjoyed it not had food like this for long time. Staff was brilliant and cocktails tasted amazing !

Very cold in there - not keen on sitting having a meal with my coat on to keep warm. Wont be returning.

Unfortunately it was such a 'meh' experience. We didn't enjoy the food, nothing stood out. The Thai curry was decent. While dumpling selection was quite extensive, there was no steamed dumplings with just chicken or prawns...that was surprising. The space was quite dark in the bar side, where we were seated. The staff was pleasant, no issues with the service. All in all, we were expecting to be wowed and we came no where near it. And it's not cheap.

Went for the early bird special at £25 a head The starter was prawn crackers which I could buy a bag for a £1 I went with chicken wings and the wife had calamari which was very salty and small portions For the mains I had lemon chicken and boiled rice the chicken was acceptable but just a slice of chicken with a lot of lemons My wife had Chilli chicken which again was very salty With a couple of drinks the bill came to £74 Which was vastly over priced for what we received

We've been 3 or 4 times and most recently a couple of weeks ago. We've only been given the Dim Sum menu once. It didn't seem to be available when we last went so we ordered from the main menu. Neither of us liked our dishes unfortunately. Mine was over seasoned and really salty and my husbands was bland. We both had horrendous MSG headaches the next day (not alcohol as we didn't drink any more than usual). The second time we went the manager told us that we should always we offered the dim sum menu but that hasn't been the case. The place needs managing. I wouldn't go back again unless the dim sum was on. Better Chinese food closer to where we live to be honest.

We booked to have a Valentine’s meal at 7pm. We were made aware that the table had to be cleared for 8:25pm which we understood. We were then seated and ordered our drinks and food. Our starters came and was lovely which we enjoyed. We then sat waiting till near 8:10pm until any server had attended to us but in the meantime they had dealt with other tables near by that had come in after us and cleared their starters and were on their main course. I went to the desk and made the host aware that we hadn’t been seen to since the starters were brought out, due to us not wanting to be rushed with our main, we decided to ask for it to be bagged up and to take it home. When the bagged up food did arrive, we never received any apology about the delays and what was suppose to be a lovely meal for me and my wife, felt all but lovely. I paid £61 to sit at a table to have our starters and to then have to take our main meal home with us and not be able to even think about having a dessert. The overall experience felt rushed, we weren’t able to have a nice relaxing meal and the service whilst sat in the restaurant was not attentive or efficient. I am so annoyed with it all from start to finish. Tried emailing them to get it sorted but of course have been blanked.

I went for my 18th birthday today! I have coeliac disease and the gluten free options are amazing and so tasty. And the staff were amazing. Definetly coming back !!

We had a poor experience when visiting Mr Lau's recently. We waited over an hour between courses with no service. It was only when we informed the waiter that we were even offered drinks. The food, for the most part, was good. However, we found a hair in one of the side dishes. It was removed from the bill, but it was enough to put my partner off their meal. With the 50% January discount, the bill wasn't too bad, but it would have been overpriced without the discount. I have dinned at Mr Lau's several times, and after this visit, I am increasingly of the opinion that is overhyped and overpriced.
