Mr. Cod in Slough

I been going in here for 23 years and get on with the guy very well, it's never been 5 star's but always 4. He was always smiling but not anymore, a new lady has started I don't no if it's his family member or wife but she is a nasty human and the quality is now rubbish. He never smiles now it seems all the happiness has been ripped from his soul

Waste of money , chips were not got for purposes stale rank and bland tight people offer no condiments Chicken strips were dry and stale Won’t come here again avoid this grimy sea pit

I found staff so rude they have no manners I was still on the phone asking for the prices of the menu and he shut the phone on me . I have been there in mr cod before they spoke rude at that as well . I won’t recommend to eat at mr cod before

I just bought 5 minutes ago a Chicken Wrap with chips and drinks, the chips is not good its like they re fry the chips it taste like oil and not crunchy and when i smell it’ it’s smell like oil . Please Mr.COD if you have excess chips dont refry it to serve to your customer its not good in our health. I just want to go there to complain but i dont have time right now. I hope you dont do this again to other customer please stop refry the excess chips and serve a fresh fry chips to the customer!

Food wasn’t great and felt disappointed with the manor was treated and food provided The burger was not good, no zinger taste just bland mayonnaise drench stale fried chicken

The worst fish and chips I have ever had. The first falk of fish was a mouth full of bones. It was disgusting, we paid £18.50 for 2 pieces of cod and large chips. The only reason I went to Mr cods in the high street was because the Mr Cod's on the Farnham Rd was closed. The Farnham Rd Mr Cod's has always been nice so I thought the high street would be the same. Wrong, never would I go anywhere near that place again. If we had of given the money we paid for the fish and chips to one of the many homeless people that were around it would of been better spent. I gave a 1 on the review because it wouldn't allow me to not put a score on the rating. It was not even worth a 1 rating

£20 is surely enough to pay for a meal for two even in times of rapid inflation. The fish was okay, not overcooked but the batter - oh dear. Every time a fork was inserted in the batter, liquid oozed out of the 4 holes. The chips were dry, overcooked and unappetising. We expected better

By far the worst fish and chips we have ever had. My wife and i normally go to the one on farnham road but as its closed we went here. The chips were well over cooked and hard, the fish was soggy, and beneath the batter was a thick layer of skin but worst of all with in just a few inches of fish there were about 6 bones. I mean i have never heard of eating cod fish and chips and being bombarded with bones galore. What if we fed this to a child god forbid. Couldnt eat it and will not go back thier again ever.

Went to buy some fish and chips for my guests. Went to place the order and the man at the counter very rudely told me to move over to his colleague (a lady) to be served. When I tried Placing my order The lady had seemed to mess it up in the first place. Then half way through of taking the order that man who spoke ever so rudely took over without acknowledging the fact that from there onwards he shall be taking the rest of the food order. He came and said “WHAT” to which I replied “excuse me why are you being so angry” to which I was told that “ if you have a problem with my attitude then GET OUT OF HERE” What kind of customer service is that??? After that I placed my food order of 3 battered cod and chips, plus one masala fish and chips. Which they messed up so badly. They gave me 3 masala fish instead. I had guests who specifically requested the battered version as they were allergic to some spices. Came home to eat and when I opened the food it was all wrong! called them to complain and the same guy came on the phone and refused to admit their mistake. He spoke In a extremely rude manner. Hung up the call twice. When I demanded to speak to the manager turned out he was the manager! I cannot believe as to how rude, abrupt and VERY unprofessional the manager for the slough branch is. I’ve had to bin the food as your shop refused to admit their mistake and correct it. Worst customer service ever! If you cannot take criticism then you do not have customer service skills what so ever. I shall be taking this further. I shall be OFFICIALLY involving ombudsman.

From the outside this looks like one of the many down market takeaways in this area of Slough. The inside is not much better. If I am honest I was drawn in by the poster on the window offering 2 pieces of chicken with chips for £ 2.49. I had to wait for the chips to be cooked which is unusual for a takeaway, but I found out why. When they arrived they were the perfect chips. Not skinny fries, not chunky chips. Just classic chips that were hot and perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And the chicken, also cooked to perfection. Very juicy chicken, with a tasty crispy coating. All in all, it was perfect food. And all of this for £ 2.49. I have no hesitation in saying this was the best value food I have ever had. Cheaper than a M&S sandwich, and a hundred times nicer.

My title just about sums it up. This place was quite filthy. On the wall was a certificate stating hygiene standards were met, I can only hope that is true because at face value the whole place was clapped out. Toilet was out of order, broken chairs, grubby walls. Luckily we just had chips which were average. The one saving grace was possibly the staff member was smiling throughout our brief interaction. But truthfully, I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
