Always use Johns Chips but the first time I’ve had the pensioners special. Lovely piece of fish and a generous portion of chip and mushy peas. Great value and can’t recommend highly enough. Thanks guys for a lovely meal.

It is an amazing chippy, you get your food fast and the chips are usually banging. Only issue I've found is that the nuggets can be a bit rubbery some nights and it would be nice if there was more seats because on those busy nights you can be waiting quite a bit.

When I lived locally we had fish and chips every Friday from Mr Chips . consistently good quality and since I have been travelling the world after retirement I can say honestly the best compared to Europe..Africa.. Australia..and even Asia...and back again travelling all over the UK still found nothing equal...always look forward to a trip back to Norfolk just to get Fish and chips from Johns Mr Chips in Swaffham..a real treasure 👍👍👍

Best Chip Shop in the area easily! Cheaper than the competition and better quality food.

Never been able to fault the service, always really friendly. Usually have the chicken kebab which has always been great. Tried the cod bites and chips on this last visit. Fresh, hot and delicious. New potato chips were lovely.

Excellent value for money. The chicken burgers and chicken strips are amazing...nice big chicken breast fillet burgers, proper chip shop chips, big portions and good prices. I've had fish and chips there before too and you get a great portion, all freshly cooked. Friendly staff, who work very hard. Only thing that could make this place even better would be if you had a delivery service and accepted card payments, but not s major issue.

Chips was just warm and been sat for sometime. Very rubbery and dry just seemed to be the dog ends. Sausage was cold and tasteless. Very greasy and left a horrible taste. If I was able to take them back I would have but was a passenger leaving Swaffham. One of the worst I’ve had in years. If you like to have grease in your mouth for ages this is the place to go. If you want good food then avoid it.

Good Chicken shish, chicken donner. No lamb shish?

On way back from great Yarmouth going back to Peterborough usually go in when in area but I Asked for a small bag of chips and large battered sausage came to £5.20 pretty expensive if you ask me next time ill have to go motherhubards

Freshly cooked haddock, done perfectly, and huge pieces of fish, even though we didn't ask for 'large'. Nice crispy batter. The chips were good as well, cooked perfectly, soft inside, crispy outside. We both agreed: the best f&c we'd had for a long time.

Went to town on Saturday due to hearing about the band that was playing. I decided to pop in as i could smell it as i walked past and grabbed a large cod and chips and I've got to say its one of the best Fish and chips I've ever had. The chips were crispy but fluffy on the inside which was perfect in my opinion and fresh, same goes for the fish it was delicious. Service was fantastic, excellent team of lads that are always smiling and happy to help. In my opinion its definitely 5+⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tried all the various shops in the area and although some were good mr chips was a clear standout for me Friendly and welcoming staff who are always polite and accommodating, whilst maintaining a clean environment The food quality is always up to scratch and with generous portions! I’m yet to be disappointed as any issues I’ve had have been resolved so I have much respect for the team there Grateful to be a customer there as mr chips is definitely my #1 chip shop 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a shop in the area

Rude members of staff, asked for the price 3 times as he gave me another number each time. He then put my change in his tip jar without asking me prior. Food was cold and flavourless. Unimpressed, won't be returning and will be warning people away from this place.

Staying in the area on holiday.went into Mr chips.flys on the cucumber said to the man...you have flys on your salad.looked up and the donner meat on the spit had flys on it also.so walked out 🤑

Excellent service this evening. Cod and chips piping hot, fish was lovely white and flaky and the chips were great too. Generous portions as well. Also I got in a muddle with my order, the young man serving was very patient, kind and helpful.

The best fish and chips I’ve had for a long long time! The fish was huge and tasty, and the chips were perfectly crispy! I would not hesitate to eat here again! If I had to be picky, I’d say the lad that served us could have been a bit more friendly, but he did a great job none the less. Highly recommend!

Love the food. Always get the kebab and chips. Only downside is their chicken strips are a bit dry, but that's it 👌

We were here only once, driving through, and during the distancing measures, so we haven't seen that much of the inside. The payment was CASH ONLY, but I was pointed to a cash machine nearby so no problem. The food was really hot and fresh, really generous portions on fish and chips, especially for the price. The service was nice and patient, but very efficient. Also, they have actually great spicy potatoes, not one of those flavourless ones! The only reason for 4* is no trays so lots of soggy paper leftover after meal and the canned Tango wasn't very cold. Also, the there's another chip shop on the other side of the square which seemed quite busy, so I don't know how they compare :)

More batter and skin than actual fish, very disgraceful.they bulk it up by using as much batter as they possibly can. Charging £6 large and £5 small.the large is more a small portion. Wnt be using them again plenty of other fish shops in swaffam
