Dont like to leave a bad review but Terrible meal. Uncooked rice and swamped in oil unfortunately had to bin most of the meal :(

Half a bowl of oil in each dish ordered and not eaten so photos are available if required. First time and last time. Very sorry.

The food has certainly improved since the new owners took over. Got off to a wobbly start but really excellent now. Staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Atmosphere is great the more people are in. Excellent mid-week special, Monday to Thursday.

Just had an excellent takeaway on the way back from shopping. Friendly staff, quick service. Food was hot when we got home, meals were delicious, very happy with the experience. Will have to dine in next time. Thank you

We ordered last night and I collected, The Currys were very watery, and not fresh! They forgot one starter, and only put in one naan bread. I tried to call the restaurant 3 times, and no answer. Not happy with the food at all.

Ordered a takeaway, chicken was ridiculously dry, until I cut into a piece and it was black on the inside! Completely ruined me finishing my meal!

So we booked a table for 6pm, ask for a menu at 6.15 ‘on its way’ ???? By 6.30 we left as we couldn’t wait til 8.30 for our starters, wouldn’t recommend and has definately gone downhill

We are very disappointed for the food quality we received today. All of the curries taste the same (plain and without any taste) the sauces of the curries are all the same, as ordered curry we have read the ingredients and what to expect of the curries each one of them. We were looking forward for the food as our friends were visiting us and the food usually is really nice and know what to expect. We have paid money for the food and expected the food to be enjoyable and eatable. We are really not happy with the quality of the food and unfortunately everyone has been upset at this unusual standard we have received today and i am upset to have to Contact , As we are all usually Happy with the food 🥲

had a wonderful dining experience at Moza, food was delicious, authentic, and well-presented. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, which was creamy and flavorful, and the garlic naan, which was soft and buttery. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing.

Visited on what was a quiet Saturday evening with only a handful of other tables in use. Because of this, it was very subdued, so a little bit of background music would have been nice. However, minor niggle apart, we enjoyed the food. Reasonable pricing and our mains were very nice. Huge Naans too, a bit too big to be honest. Poppadoms and pickles, two mains, one rice, one Naan, one Roti all for £35, you can't really complain at that. It's bring your own booze too, so it makes for a cheap night out. All the staff were friendly too. Happy to return again in future.

The food was 40 minutes late, I got a garlic naan instead of the cheese and garlic I ordered. The garlic chicken which is usually lovely was awful! I will not be ordering from there again!

Has definitely gone downhill since I had Last been two years ago, the nan Bread wet , greasy,doughy and was disgusted that they charged us £4 for an Upgrade of a Nan when it was in the Package deal anyway. The sauces that come with the popadoms are the worst I've ever had, could tell they were watered down. My friend asked to keep them to use with main but that was ignored and they took it anyway. The curry tasted like it was from a supermarket (bland)asked for a medium curry no spice at all, glad i didn't pay the weekend prices, no enthusiasm in customer service, atmosphere felt very awkward. Won't be returning.

Had christmas dinner here today, 2023, and everything was spot on. Food came in a decent time, hot, and tender. Staff friendly, and a great price.

Thank you to the manager and his team. We had a problem which we raised and it was fully resolved. We fully enjoyed our food, full of flavour, and delivered piping hot. Thank you.

Had takeaway here several times over the last few years and always been delicious. Tonight the food was terrible, peshwari naan had no flavour, all cold despite ordering it from directly outside the premises, and apparently, some complimentary poppadoms which consisted of a few broken bits in a bag, despite me paying for 2 at 60 p each. Tasteless food and very poor. Won't be returning.

Nervous about returning here after change of ownership and bad reviews. Wasn't disappointed, food was hot and tasty. Staff very friendly. Will definitely return

Derby Moza restaurant pleasantly surprised us! Despite the poor Google reviews, we decided to give it a try as we didn’t have much options in the area, and we're so glad we did. The Biriyani and Tandoori King Prawn dishes were a delightful blend of flavorful spices. As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Kids also enjoyed egg rice and fish fry. Our experience was genuinely enjoyable. Staff was very friendly and provided a really good customer service. We highly recommend giving Derby Moza. might just become our new favourite spot for delicious Indian cuisine!

Had a takeaway, had two different curries, both lacked flavour and had the same consistency, gone majorly down hill since change of ownership. Wouldn’t recommend.

We really enjoyed our meal last night. We had it delivered and communication was very good. Had garlic chicken and chicken jaipur and both were lovely. 4 nice onion bhaji in a portion and lots of crispy poppadoms. Everything was really hot too. Thanks and hope it's as good next time

If you eat hear. The only positive thing is that it is next to the cemetery. So not far to go when you die from food poisoning..

Staff were brilliant. Had a nice table for our party of 4. Service was good and the food excellent.. definitely will go again.

We have eaten both dine-in and takeaway at Moza for many years and generally always very pleased with our food and service. Our recent order was mixed quality. Chicken tikka v good, they forgot our rice but then delivered again quickly. The lamb biryani was v disappointing-had burnt bits in it and the vegetable curry sauce had cheap mixed veg (inc sweetcorn?!) and boiled potatoes. Previously it had more had fresh veg eg mushrooms etc in. Will be looking for a different Indian now.

So much for an award winning chef the food was revolting 🤮 Been to moza a few times before and the food was lovely. Since being taken over the food and service is terrible. I will not be returning anytime soon and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets taken over again soon. Saying it was a Saturday the place was dead with only us in which says it all really!

Visited Moza first time- defo 5 star service and food. Friendly staff , nice food and not expensive. Will visit you again soon with friends

I was invited out with friends, never been before, and not sure of what the dishes on the menu actually tasted like, but found the one I chose was extremely tasteful and will definitely go again.

The tastes are slightly different from previous dishes but are superb in both taste & quality. Portions are generous & presented well. Staff are attentive & helpful especially Rahul & one of the owner’s son. Prices are keen. I would thoroughly recommend a visit & I’m sure like us you will be returning. Keith & Carolyn

Moza didn’t inform us of the new parking change, which is now only 90 minutes which I believe they should inform us as when you dine out there is that chance of not being able to get back to the car in time. So me and my friends have now got a fine of £60 each as we were there over 2 hours, they won’t even answer the question when my friend rang up to ask them why they didn’t let us know. Main food took a while to come out, they say it’s because they have a new chef. Wasn’t the best masala I’ve had there either, felt poorly the day after. Food definitely over priced for what is was shame to say we won’t be coming back.

Do not eat at the Moza, Notts road Chad 🤮 New management and new chef - never will we go there again. Brought the starters out, cold and not cooked. Asked to speak to management and to cancel the mains as we wasn’t happy, to be given a bill of £26 for starters that were pink and tasted like jelly 🤮 Once manager was confronted, he told us to leave and got very adgitated 🫠 Not the only ones who were leaving either complaining of the same thing 🤮

Wow I have been eating at this place since it first opened and the food was amazing at a decent price, it has now been taken over by a bunch of rip offs I ordered a chicken Puri starter for pick up and they told me £8.95 when 2 months ago it was £4.95, nowhere ever charges this Spice lounge in derby centre is £4.95 they are making it up as they go I will never visit this rip off place again shame on you I hope you go under ripping off the regulars.

Not happy went here on Saturday for my bday. Sat down waited ages had to ask for a glass for our drink and also ask for ice which ws just put on the table. Took ages to be asked what we wanted. Poppadoms and pickle tray were awful. Soft poppadoms which were very greasy, pickle tray was so small had 2 spoons out of the onion pickle and it was gone.. Shows in picture. Starter was ok... Ordered mains I had balti. It looked like slop absolutely tasteless pictured below husband had tikka masala he said it was horrible. We got there for 7.15 our mains didn't come out till 8.30pm.wasnt even busy. Only offered 10%off wasn't happy to accept that so said we wanted money off the mains. Unfortunately we will never be going bk there. We always use to have a good curry from there even ordered from there for out Xmas meal, Im afraid never again. Happy birthday not.

The service wasn't up to much unfortunately,moza does not have a alcohol licence you can take your own what is brilliant for us, so before we was even seated the waiter had taken the only glasses on the table withouteven asking if we need them so we had to ask for more. The food was shocking and that is a real shame as I have enjoyed many good meals here in the past, when the waiter handed me the bill I was told that I could have 10% off for food we did not eat so I disagreed with this so I got slightly more taken off, I was told by the staff that they had a new cook like it was some sort of excuse. I very much hope moza gets back to the standard of service that the people have become accustomed to.

Having one past good experience with moza we were very disappointed to find a vastly overpriced pickle tray (just 3 pickles and only a very small amount in each). There was a 2 cm piece of hard baked clay or stone in the nan which almost broke my guests tooth. When we rang to inform Moza we were treated with minimum courtesy and told it was the type of oven. No apology offered. We will not be using again.

Extremely disappointed. Did not realise they had been taken over, on opening our takeaway we immediately realised this was a different chef, wrong colour and wrong taste. Unfortunately nothing like the standards and excellent taste the previous owners served. Only positive is quick delivery and polite service.

I have always enjoyed dining at Moza as the food has always been so good. Tonight a party of us ate here and I must say under the new team there the food was exceptional and first class. Good luck to you all and wish you every success you deserve. Shirley Kirkman.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!! Awful experience, staff are rude, extremely rude, waiter throws the cutlery on the table, the food is so bland and certainly not like any other restaurant I've ever eaten at and they clearly have no manners!! Please do not waste your time or your money!!!!

Went last night on arrival ok but as the night went on it got worse. We were in two couples they brought out the poppadoms and pickle tray,only one portion for both couples yet the table next to us got a portion per couple. Ordered the mains and my wife told them no coriander in her meal as she cannot eat this they brought her meal out with coriander on. We sent this back and they just picked the coriander off,we had to return this again leaving my wife to eat on her own as we had finished our meal.

I went last night and the food was so tasteless. It was the worst indian i’ve ever eaten. Not a single indian was eating at the establishment, all old white folks. Not one bit of spice in the curry. The curries have all been adjusted to the taste pallet of an old white pensioner. The service was abysmal. The owners laughed in my face when I complained. They said all the pensioners tipped their curries and protested that their curries were decent. It is not a curry house it is an old pensioners home that serves.bland mush for it’s ancient clientele.

Don't even deserve a 1 star but couldn't get on to put on a review we had take out sometimes order twice a week we waited 1hour 45 minutes food was cold had a chicken tikka masala it was that spicy I couldn't eat it no nana bread I know for certain I ordered when I rang and said they had missed it and to tell them food was cold he said I haven't ordered nanna bread then was rude and put the phone down on me when I tried to tell him the food was cold and horrible will never order from there ever again

New Year’s Eve , Not that busy - staff were unfriendly & not interested also 20% service charge at the end was a bit steep - food was ok but for the price I’d expect better.

The dinner was like a child's meal so small stuffing missing from it had to ask for it. to embarrassed to take a picture of the food .only been there for one hr then told to leave would not go again

Booked for 6 adults and 2 children 1 needing a high chair. When we got here no high chair. Eventually sorted. Waited a while for starters where we had asked for the children's meal to be out at the same time. Arrived late. Mains arrived over 1 and a half hours after arrival and all meals were luke warm. Had to asks several times for icecream for the children. Half an hour later ot arrived. We gave up waiting for ours as over 2 hours later the children were tired and fed up.

Absolutely chaotic. Booked in for 8pm for 5 people. When we arrived all tables were taken up. We was then told by the manager he never took our booking. Which I thought was just laughable blaming his staff. He then told us a table would be free in 15 to 30 minutes time. Which didn’t look very likely as most tables for 5 were either waiting for starters eating staters or swing for main courses.We insistently weren’t the only ones waiting. And whilst we were there they brought out a takeaway meal for someone which was completely wrong. Whist we waited for our taxi 3 others couples walked out complaining. Just chaotic!! I won’t be going back again. I like the fact it’s local and I like to support local businesses. Even thro the food isn’t that good either. We ended up at the Tamarind in Spondon it was a lovely meal as always.

Was phoning from 5.30 pm to 6pm with no answer.then finally got answer machine saying no one can take your call and you can't leave a message. Won't bother again.. If they can't even pick the phone up then no point wasting time

Honestly can't fault this place, we live near so thought we'd come again after coming in the past, really really good food like honestly everything was so fresh and nice, good portions and flavours, up there with the best we've tried and believe me we are curry concieres. Hot fresh food, good priced, really good portion sizes, quick friendly service and reasonablely priced! Overall very happy and we will be coming again :)

Well cooked and presented meals. I tried the vegetarian option and found it very nice. I would recommend this place for group or solo dining. Give it a try.

Ordered food with prices on the higher end of takeaways expected gd quality. Took about 1 hour to arrive which was what they advised on the phone. Quality of the food didn't match the price tag as can get nicer, tastier and better portioned food from about 50% of the takeaways around it. One of the dips the food came with was very warm and appeared to have curdled to the point on opening it smelt so bad just binned it straight away. Chips are chunky damp and we're not the quality had hoped for either. Wouldn't use again as there are better options around. Most food had a chemical taste to it.

Had two different meals as we come from the Indian capital of GB ie Glasgow .We'll maybe not now both meals were takeaways as we we watching the house and dogs for family .Brilliant ,Brilliant amazing please give them a Brilliant thumbs up from the Glasgow crowd x see you soon

The food was not great at all the food was bland and not up to part! Service isn't great you can tell their unexpecerience. It was overpriced! Food didn't taste like authentic INDIAN food. My experience wasn't good!

Derby people, if you ain't been........ GO! I'd never been before, I wasn't expecting much if I'm honest. But, was more than pleasantly surprised. They allow you to take your own alcohol. That saves you a small fortune (if you've dined out before and bought alcohol at the restaurant, you'll know). Make sure you book a table though, it's a cosy place and a lot of people know about the place. You gotta go.

Don't trust there opening times, they open and close when they want, not a care for the customer that's takes the time, effort and money just to be disappointed when there closed, because there quite and decided to close. No wonder they are quite, never again.

i went for food last week and I thought the food was fantastic, but when being in the restaurant I felt how the mangers treat the staff is unacceptable, this one young, brunette haired girl served me and all my family aswell as 3 other tables whilst the manager watched her struggle, which is disgusting

It was very nice although the waitress came across as quiet sharp especially when we asked for coffee after we were presented with the bill!

It has been the first time we had been since covid restrictions had been lifted, it was very busy but they managed to get us seated quite quickly. I felt slightly rushed as food was bought at lighting speed, we hadnt even finshed our poppdoms and pickles and 1st course was on the table going cold .The food was nice and the staff were very polite all in all we had good night. Remember if you visit there you can take your own alcohol but any soft drinks you must purchase there .

This place has no idea on takeaways, ordered a mix grill for 13.99 and what do you get, chicken leg, 1 lamb chop and a few bits of chicken! really? and it was cold. never again!

Tried moza after bet disappointed by my usual takeaway. Tasty curry with pickled garlic cloves, a new experience. Well impressed by the flavours and textures of the curry.

Ordered a takeaway turned up nearly 2 hours late with courses missing. By the time the rest came the other was cold. 2nd time we have ordered from here and both times late. Rang the restaurant and got told eat in has priority to which I replied well I won’t be ordering from here again and the restaurant replied ok don’t then. No we are sorry or offer of a discount. Very poor

Food is amazing. This was our second visit. We were not happy being seated next to the screen that leads into the kitchen. We were cramped and there are grease marks on it. Would go again, but would leave if we were to be seated in this space. Husband sat looking at the wall, although really busy it wasn't the same enjoyable experience. Tables were available when we arrived so don't know why we were allocated table number 6. I feel the staff noticed we were not happy as the customer service changed towards us. Would have given 5 stars but not tonight. Our first visit was with a group we had a large circular table, much better experience. Thanks

Went to Moza last night wasnt impressed as there was no social distancing they clustered everyone together. In the night I vomited

Always great food from Moza, whether you eat in or take away. Friendly staff in house and delivering. Highly recommended 👍
