Had a very enjoyable meal here with the whole family , great food , awesome staff. Definitely worth a try when in Cardiff. The Chelo Koobidah Kebab was on point 👌🏼👌🏼

My family and I had the most amazing dining experience at Mowlana. We've had the chance to dine at some of the best restaurants in the world and have concluded that this lovely location is a Cardiff treasure. The cuisine was amazing. The level of service was outstanding. The waitress that was serving was really kind, courteous, and helpful. It's a modern, comfortable, clean, and family-friendly setting. Eager for the upcoming visit.

Very beautiful restaurant and has been my first experience with Persian food so I wouldn't know what to compare against. However as against the many types and tastes of food I've had this has been a exquisite meal. The kebabs were piping hot and moist and crumble to the touch. The rice was seasoned beautifully and overall the dish was paired perfectly. It has been a delight dining here and I will certainly have a very high benchmark for my next Persian endeavor.

Mowlana restaurant gave me and my family a wonderful experience of Persian food. I have tried all of their kebabs, and I can say that Koobideh is the best. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable which made the experience even more enjoyable for us. The staff are also nice and charming.

My friends and I stumbled across this restaurant as we were looking for a place to book for my 50th dinner. Its convenient location, lovely ornate lighting and warmth instantly appealed to us. The menu is extensive and caters well for vegetarians (and non vegetarians). Portions were generous and authentic whilst the service and warmth offered to us was superb. We were able to BYO at no extra charge. Dessert was lovely with some of the best baclava and saffron ice-cream to be had. At the end of the evening, my friends and I were so pleased we’d eaten here. We’d eaten well and the hospitality given was attentive, real and welcoming. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant to all. It’s quite large so could accommodate large numbers if needed. Thank you for a lovely meal and a lasting memory.

It was great food, and we even had a naan we didn’t like, and they took it back and gave us a new one - free of charge! The service was amazing, and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone.

One of the best Iranian restaurants I’ve ever tried. Great service topped with good quality food and cozy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. We did try the mixed grilled dish for two and couldn’t finish it in one sitting. We had heard good things about the place and it didn’t disappoint.

Absolutely clean, good quality food in positive size portions. Plenty of choices, interesting drinks. No alcohol but you can take your own. Quick efficient service and not crowded, Native diners enjoyed meals too.

If you like Persian food or want to try, then this is the place to go in Cardiff. The lamb mince melts in your mouth. Great find on a quiet street with a few parking spots. I loved how they served the grilled meat on a silver platter like in the middle east. Update: been there multiple times and it's consistently great service and delicious

Excellent food - a real hidden gem in Cardiff. Away from the hectic City/Albany Road restaurants, it's light and airy. Staff were lovely and food incredible. Would recommend ghormeh sabzi, lamb shank with baghali polow, and Gheyme badenjan. Finish with persian tea and basbousa. Absolutely perfect.

What can I say except that food was 10/10. Service was absolutely amazing, what you could expect from a 5 star restaurant. If you are around, check out their mixed grill. Lamb chops and minced lamb was exquisite.

Right around the corner for our stay in Cardiff, we found this restaurant via Google Maps. It was a fantastic surprise. The interior was quiet, beautiful and had an excellent atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, personable and professional. We sampled a lot: hummus with pita bread, lamb, stew, chicken, beef, dolmeh (grape leaf wraps, I believe), doogh (a yogurt drink), mango drink and a Persian-made tea. The portions were very large and everything was delicious. We left with a very positive opinion of the restaurant; one of our best dining experiences in Cardiff.

Outstanding taste, it is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Great service and atmosphere, would love to come back. A couple of things for owner, Rice were broken and not very long, there were little yellow Saffron rice on top. Secondly Mirza Ghasemi was not smoky enough, taste was great though

We have been going to mowlana for many years and it is family favourite! visited again this evening and the food was beautiful, so tasty, flavoursome and fresh! The waitress was so helpful and attentive! Highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed

We ordred ghorme sabzi,kobideh ,dooghand baklava .they were all fresh and yummy .wautresses were friendly ,decor was trdetinal.will defintly recommed .

I had high expectations of this place after reading some of the reviews but was underwhelmed to put it mildly. We should have seen the warning signs when we realised we were the only ones in there at 7pm on a Saturday. To be fair, the waitress was very sweet but that’s probably the only good thing I can say. Food was bland with a really unpleasant smell - certainly not aromatic! The meat eaters of the group said it was dry and there wasn’t a lot of it. Will not be returning and do not recommend!

I went to Mowlana with a large group of friends, 40+, and we were exceptionally well cared for. The food was delicious and well-priced. This is not my first visit to Mowlana, and I'll be there plenty more. The staff, as well as the owners, Rami and Soheil, are great hosts and very kind people.

I had a positive experience at the restaurant with a friendly owner, generous portions and really good customer service. The Kashe Bademjan and Koobideh were delicious highlights, and the veggie options added to the overall satisfaction. Worth a visit for a pleasant dining experience.

One of the best Halal Persian restaurants in Cardiff, definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try out Persian food! The Koobideh was soft and succulent. The atmosphere of the restaurant took us back in time. They have an ornate ancient Persian style seating bed.

Went to Mowlana's for the first time recently after having walked past it quite a bit. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating of a big group of people. Ordered a selection of veggie starters - the aubergine dip (kashk-o-badenjan) is amazing - which were great. Some of the best dolmeh in Cardiff! Had the ghorme sabzi (kidney bean and spinach stew) for main, which was decent and reasonably priced. Only criticism would be there's a limited selection of veggie mains, but what they do have is great and would definitely recommend Mowlana's.
