BIT expensive but oh my lordy is it worth it..

Food was delicious and hot, very generous portion, but despite ordering for a specific time 2 hours in advance it was still late.

Asked for chips with salt and vinegar, didn't come that way. Ordered fishcake and wasn't anything like the picture was the frozen ones. Fish was mushy inside didn't enjoy them. Not as good as it use to be.

The worst jam roly poly my husband has ever eaten - his words! It was rock hard and inedible. He really didn’t like it. My chip butty was ok, quite enjoyed that, battered sausage not that nice.

I absolutely can't understand how you can justify your prices £13.79 for a fish butty the batter was gooey on the inside and cold few chip that was hard and most like scraps certainly not worth the price and then £5.95 for a chip butty again chips hard and full of scraps cold and i bet the delivery drive drove the road way to my house which is about 5 mile away when he could of easily got on the m65 which is minutes from mother Hubbars and got off junction 10

Fish had clearly been frozen and was dry inside thick and tasteless batter. Cips just ok, tiny peas portion and awful curry sauce. Two fish, one chips with peas and curry was £25. Way overpriced. Won't be going back there.

Food has gone down in a week Got double fish and chips with peas and curry sides The fish was very dry couldn’t eat it the chips were hard on the outside as if they had skin on which they weren’t Very hard to eat even with curry on Also cost £2.30 more than last week I’m afraid I won’t be going again

Disappointed. It was my first time at Mother Hubbard's. I asked how does the order work, staff member said to me I sit and she will bring the order. She also said that the chips come with the salad fish, but I never recieved any. The Asian guy who brought the order came across rude and grumpy. They also forgot my drink so I had to go get it myself from the fridge. The food was quite salty. The only good thing is the sitting area and parking. But they need to work on customer service as they are below average. Won't be returning.

Portions small for what we paid, tiny pot of curry sauce was expecting a proper sized one, food arrived cold, there's a lot better quality and quantity for less money around

Massive rip off! £5 for a portion of chips you expect a decent portion served in paper, they're served in a box and it's not even full, and they're barely warm.

Usually good from here but this time forgot the mushy peas! And the fish was smaller than usual.

Arrived cold, the chips tasted like they had been sat out for a long time, and the fish was over cooked and chewy. Lot of money spent on a naff meal i couldn’t finish.

Food was excellent and hot which always a bonus when using delivery. Courier was polite and courteous.

The food was OK a bit pricey for the quality can get better the staff are not really nice can hear them talking about you while you wait for your order and while looking at the menu staff waiting right infront of u not giving space to actually look at what you would like to order I understand the upselling and trying to sell the food but a bit of space and Time would be good.

I’d like to introduce this review by saying, I’m so glad they have made a fish and chips shop of this level in Nelson. This is exactly what we needed at BB9 and I hope there’s more big franchises coming! The food and service was top notch and the chippys at an amazing shop right across the famous pendle hill! hope you guys smash it!

the ti.e for delivery kept increasing i waited 1.5 hours for this order when it came it was cold and had to be heated up not what you expect to do on an order of nearly 30 quid not happy at all

I was beaten by their super jumbo! My wife and I called in for a Friday chippy tea. After driving past this place on many occasions we decided to give it a shot, and we’re so glad that we did. I went with their Super Jumbo and my wife had a kids fish bites n chips. Both meals were freshly cooked, piping hot, and absolutely delicious 🤤 We ate in, the dining area is modern, bright, and ultra clean. We will have no hesitation in calling here again, in fact we can’t wait, only next time I think that I’ll go for a regular fish and chips as the Super Jumbo well and truly beat me.

I took my family for a meal at mother hubbards and it was the best fish and chips I had in a while the service was really good the staff are so polite and really respectful also the staff was really good with my kids as the offered them free sweets after they had food

I would recommend spicy fish it was really nice spice to it best fish and chips in my area no doubt.only thing I would say is if people could park properly in bays provided would make it a lot easier to park

Took about thirty minutes from order to receive. Everything from what I could tell was made fresh that we ordered. Very polite staff and a good selection of fizzy drinks to chose from. Highly recommend the grilled fish.

Best battered haddock we have had anywhere ever! Have probably eaten close to 1000 portions of battered fish over 50+yrs, and I can honestly say todays fish from Mother Hubbards in Nelson was the best ever 👍 Chips are a bit pale for our taste, but cooked through properly and are tasty enough. In particular dipped in the spicy curry sauce 😋

The food is by and large ok…turning up 25 mins before their closing time to find the shutters half down and the doors locked isn’t as acceptable in my book…especially when all the staff are stood around inside watching you sat there in the car park. Poor show.
