Mother Hubbard’s in Shropshire

The food was great, but the delivery driver was extremely rude. Rang my number, once I answered he said “I’m at the door, answer it” he hadn’t rang the bell. I won’t order again due to this experience.

the food was very flavourful, well cooked and nice portion. The chips were old school 'home cooked' and tasted as though the oil and the potatoes were fresh.

Food ordered at 17:13pm and wasn’t delivered until 19:10 - said it would arrive by 18:15 this wasn’t the case. Nearly 1 hour late driver didn’t arrive to pick up the order, ended up being Mother Hubbards who delivered!!

I ordered Gravy and a Spicy Curry Sauce, they sent a normal curry and a spicy one. My wife can't tolerate anything Spicy and what she thought was gravy turned out to be the hot curry and ruined her chips and because I'd poured the mild curry over my chips she had to go without as she doesn't like curry sauce. The meal was just about warm which we've never had before and batter on the fish not as crispy, this might have been down to the driver dropping off other orders before ours.

Trust me, done it twice these sell the best Steak pies you will come across by a long way. Downside each is specifically cooked to order and there will be a wait. Prices very good too.

Ended up arriving well after the first ETA, which then kept changing. Correct order arrived, was warm but not hot. Everything was a bit limp and soggy, batter on fish was very soft like it had been left on a side for a while and lost any crunch? Mushy peas weren't very mushed and we're also quite watery, strangely sweet as well? Meal was fine in the sense that nothing was inedible, just bit disappointing when you pay above the average 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Standards have fallen, likely won't order again...

Super size family fish was 80% batter! Almost no fish at all! Disappointed my son who had been looking forward to it for his birthday.

I go here every week, Great Chips and Fish, the batter is always crispy, nice freshly made chips. Excellent service from all the staff, especially Daisy (from the night shift) who is always very pleasant and is an asset to your company. 10/10 from me

Basically guys, if you're gonna allow delivery orders later at night - don't send out the crap you've got left in hot hold. Just reduce your order times. Usually, the food has been fresh whenever I've ordered. This should've gone in the bin.

Freshly cooked fish & chips which was very nice, good portion, had the £10.99 deal which was regular fish & chips, a drink and a side ( mushy peas, curry sauce etc) Good value. Restaurant was pleasant with lots of pictures of Shrewsburys history on the walls. Recommended.

Estimated time kept changing, no updates after courier arrived at takeaway, courier didn’t read instructions and walked right past me - despite the instructions to look for someone in a wheelchair. Food was barely warm when it arrived!

The scallops and the fish were extremely over cooked (Burnt) and the chips were like rubber, no Tartar Sauce that was ordered, this used to be the best fish and chip restaurant in Shrewsbury. I do not think I will be ordering from them again.

Fish is always ginormous with perfectly cooked chips. The XXXL one I didn’t get a photo of but take it from me, it’s a HUGE meal. One of the best chippies I’ve eaten in!

Beautiful fish. However the delivery driver needs training on how to carry food!! like if your carrying a pizza box, dont put it in a bag on its side! everything just ends up in a big lump in the now bottom of the box! I just glad my elderly mother still enjoyed her food after i tryed to put it back together.

Second order from here, perfect each time. Order through uber eats and collect it, almost always ready before the time say they are quick. Food is fresh, staff polite and some of the best batter i have had in a long time, lovely and crisp. Is abit pricey though but good for a treat every now and then.

Well I never believed it until I seen it This Restaurant is the best Chippy I have Ever been to. Me originally from brum now in Bridgnorth I thought shall we go to McDonald s or KFC?? Drove through town and spotted MH (est. 1972) parked up and entered WoW huge place Food, Hygiene, Service second to none ordered a fiery fish (masala) on naan with salad and chips I was given a ticket told to take a seat 5 minutes later food brought over to the table which was absolutely gorgeous if anyone reads this and in the Area it’s a definite must Big thanks to Hamid & Uzair for bringing so much diversity to Shropshire Town look forward to my next visit AAChin

This place is in the main town centre with parking newrby. Very spacious and clean perfect for families who want a rest and some food. They have many options on the menu we had the fish and chips aswell as the fiery fish which was delicious. The chips were perfectly cut snd cooked just like traditional chips. they had a dessert menu and many drinks available

This place dues not serve traditional English cod and chips or plaice or rock salmon or any nice fish at all. It’s haddock take it or leave it. Plus who wants Curry fish. You’re given wooden horrible knives and forks . Bring back traditional places like harry Ramdens (used to be) fresh fish with cutlery. This cafe type shop has Low uncomfortable seats.no place for an evening out or afternoon tea. Everything looks cheap and on a budget. In fact nothing typically British about the place as Fish and chips eateries should be. .

More Batter than Fish and half a box of normal chips instead of a box of Batterd Chips.

A lovely place to come eat. First of all, it's all halal. Ordered the fiery fish wrap meal. Order was made perfectly and given to me at my table. Taste was beautiful and amazing. So fresh and filing. There is seating for about 50 people. There is free parking outside for like 3 cars and after 6;30pm.

Absolutely shocking service by Just Eat. Order placed at 12:08pm. Finally delivered at 14.22! Unable to cancel on JustEat app, restaurant not at fault. Food prepared but driver did not turn up. Formal complaint will be being made.

Large eat in or out modern chippy. Quick polite service. Reasonable prices. Fair selection of foods. But typical feeling of a fast food outlet Oh, and if eating in you may find your clothes smelling a bit like a chippy afterwards.

Been here a couple of times. The fish is great. Chips are good enough. Mushy peas are bland but fine. Bread roll is not good and last time it came with butter in it. I guess it was butter. It was just an oily patch in a stale roll that was hard around the edges. I guess it had been microwaved at some point during its brief, unfortunate life. But the service on the last visit was absolute chaos. The cashier was doing his best but the kitchen staff - right behind him and in view of customers - were struggling to keep up with orders, all the while arguing about what food was missing from various orders. It took 25 minutes for my order to be ready which, for a busy fish and chip shop on a weekend lunchtime, isn't great. That said, the fish is great. I'd go back for that. 🤷🏼
