Lovely place but quality, hospitality & service seems to be lacking. Went for coffee; simple order extra hot latte, turmeric latte, crisp and almonds! what could go wrong! Lattes were requested to be extra hot. They arrived cold (not warm). Probably left out too long? When asked to change them go face making attitude. Crisps out of a packet; stale and inedible. When asked to take them off the bill again raised eye brows. I have no idea how these places survive in ultra competitive London.

If you know and love me you know I am a fan of PBS and Masterpiece, so I have always had a strong desire to visit London simply based on many books and shows I have fallen in love with. How could I have an early morning long layover and my first stop not be to enjoy what so many have coined a proper English Breakfast! I haven’t always been convinced about eating beans first thing in the morning, but these had a spicy kick and an unexpected tang that worked beautifully with the eggs, grilled tomatoes, rounded potatoes and mushrooms. I am a sucker for a char grilled sausage, this was done just how I love it, dark yet not burned, and who doesn’t love streaky bacon! This meal comes with toast, and you can order up your favorite breakfast beverage. I went for Earl Grey because it’s my favorite and I couldn’t leave without ordering a “spot of tea”! This is a nice spot, in a location with lots of shopping, touristy things to do, and a short walk from the train station. I could have sat here for hours sipping and people watching, this is the type of cozy vibe I imagined myself enjoying in London! If I return , this is such a welcoming spot, I will have to drop by again and repeat this experience. So if you find yourself searching for breakfast, give Mortimer House Kitchen a go, I plan to return, and don’t forget to tell them Unnerved Traveler sent you! Enjoy!

We went with family, whilst visiting in London, to celebrate a birthday. From the minute we arrived we had a great time. We sat for a drink at the bar, the barman looking after us excellently, making us laugh and serving a great cocktail. Our meal was fantastic. The menu different and exciting. My Macaroni with taleggio and black truffle was superb, followed by Melanzane alla Parmigiana, again really tasty all of our party said the food was outstanding. It’s a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service. Everything was great and all agreed we should go back the next time we’re down.

Popped in for lunch, we both had the prawn starter which was really good, I then ordered the chicken burger, with plain Mayo not truffle which they done however they put cheese on the chicken which was not mentioned on the menu which ruined it, I hate melted cheese, we were are short on time so had to get as much cheese off as I could before eating it as didn’t have time to wait for another one to be cooked, shame as the chicken would have been really tasty without the cheesy taste on it, I hope they update the menu to mention this. What a great experience. We stumbled upon the restaurant after a show & I am happy we did. The space is stellar, a relaxed contemporary vibe. The menu was simple, but with enough options to make anyone happy & everything we had was delicious. The service was the high point, the server was attentive & knowledgeable without being overwhelming. In hospitality one of the best feelings is to be taken care of & I can say that the table felt incredibly taken care of. We were not rushed or dismissed even though we were one of the last tables in the restaurant. A definite suggestion to anyone visiting London.

Went for dinner as a family, booked in advance. Great atmosphere, nice/quick service, delicious food. The place is modern, has a great vibe and is latge enough that they can separate large groups (literally behind a thick curtain), couples vs families. Would recommend and would go back again.

Whether you are having coffee, meeting friends or dining for business you will not be disappointed. The staff are all friendly and accommodating to any request. If you pop through to the check in desk within Mortimer House you may meet a special little superstar!

We stumbled upon this place when we were walking around the area and noticed there was a lot of locals instead of tourists so decided to see if we could get a table. The receptionist was able to get us a table which we really appreciated as they had a number of bookings. The food was delicious and well presented. I liked that you could see the open kitchen and there was a lovely atmosphere for a Sunday morning which was very relaxing. They have a number of juices which we all tried different ones which were very refreshing.

Very upbeat and smart restaurant - fit out is stylish and modern with plenty of room between tables. We were a larger group and felt fully catered. Started with drinks at the bar (great looking space) and moved to our table. Service was efficient and friendly with the menu straight forward (great rump steak). Will return.
