Worst Christmas event I've ever been to. We visited on Sunday 17th. We arrived on time for our slot and found our way into the cafe where our hot drinks order was taken straight away, we then waited at for 40minutes to actually get them. The 'crafts' that were advertised turned out to be some photocopied colouring pages and felt tips thrown on a dirty table. We then waited for an hour and a half while other families ( at least 6 who arrived after us) were ushered back and forward to the s'mores cabin and Santa. We were treated like we didn't exist. Eventually a member of staff told us that we hadn't been forgotten about, apparently the reason we hadn't done anything yet was because one person had jumped the queue in front of us. Hardly a reason for us to have waited for an hour and a half. We were then taken to the s'mores cabin where the 'elf' mainly talked to the adults about working at the lakes and fishing. Santa and the grotto was actually ok once we eventually got there but by that time the Christmas magic was definitely gone.

This eaterie is supposed to open at 10am but there was nobody to be seen when we arrived at 10.15. We hung about and the chef appeared after a few minutes. We just had coffee as we didn’t want to stay too long - the place lacked ambiance and customers! We had a similar experience recently but decided to try again - doubt if we’ll give it a third try.

After hearing about Moorebrook from close friends, decided to give it a try.. Really wish we hadn't. The stew my wife and myself ordered was tasteless, no flavour at all. We tried some brown sauce, salt and pepper to make it palatable but alas the mushy, greasy concoction did not go down well at all. The accompanying Sourdough was like a brick and inedible. To get rid off the unpleasant taste we had coffee and this was extremely bitter and left abandoned. We are not really fussy eaters, but this was a pretty bad experience, sadly never to be repeated.

Called in around midday for coffee, teas and light lunch. Had some toasted sandwiches which were vert nice. The pots of tea were good and you got 2 to 3 cups per pot. The big let down was the "Toilet". It was only mid day and the bin was over flowing with hand towels and the sink was very dirty. Not good enough for 2019

Really quaint coffee shop/ bistro off the beaten track from the coastal road at castlerock. Really tasty and healthy food. Great service. Good value for money. Highly recommend a stop off here. Handy parking. Just a 10 min drive from benone. There’s a nice outdoor seated area and a few fishing lakes. There’s also space for caravans and motorhomes.

Ok, this place takes a bit of finding, but signposting is good. It’s quirky, but a really lovely spot. The coffee, tray bakes and cakes were awesome particularly the lemon drizzle and boiled cake. Will be back, and I suspect it’s a lovely place when the sun shines.

I visited this cafe earlier today with my parents. Although the service was a little slow, the staff was very polite and friendly. The lemon drizzle cake was served fresh from the oven, and I really enjoyed the fifteen traybake. My step mum enjoyed her latte and I appreciated the coke came in a glass bottle (zero plastic). Its a great secluded and scenic spot near Castlerock but is well sign-posted to get there. Definitely worth visiting.

It was well worth calling in and had a lovely time and nice lunch. A surprise well worth a visit.

We called in for a light lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and were pleasantly surprised. Although I live quite locally, I didn't know this little gem existed. For my first visit, I found the signage a little confusing, as it wasn't 100% clear where to go for food, but we found the right spot. It was also a little unclear as to whether you were allowed to walk around the grounds.

Visited here in May 2017, and enjoyed tasty, well presented food. Unfortunately that has not been the case on our last two visits, one in August 2017 and the other in September 2017. On our visit in August my husband ordered ciabatta with Brie, cranberry sauce and chicken and that is exactly what he got, no garnish whatsoever, i ordered a toastie that appeared to have been made in a toastie machine from the 1970's, there were a few tortillas on the plate but the presentation was not good. We returned in September with friends hoping that our previous experience was a one off, unfortunately not so, an open sandwich on wheaten bread consisted of chicken with no dressing of any sort, a small spoonful of coleslaw &a; potato salad and a little portion of lettuce. We finished with apple tart which was very good although again the presentation was not up to scratch. This establishment appears to be staffed with young females who don't appear to have anyone mature directing them, they are however very friendly and attentive. We noticed that since our visit in May new menus have been printed, has this establishment changed owners, thus the drop in standards? We would be reluctant to return or to recommend it (as we had done previously). Such a pity as it is such a lovely setting for coffee/lunch.

Being a local there is no doubt we are spoilt along the north coast with a variety of fantastic eating establishments and stunning views. As a result during the summer the rest of the country comes to enjoy these spots and it becomes almost impossible to find somewhere peaceful, that serves nice food, with a view and a space to park...... HOWEVER thankfully we found Moorebrook. We enjoyed a delicious toasted sandwich, coffee and a slice to lovely cake in total peace and quiet overlooking stunning lakes and countryside. Definitely a hidden gem.... if you are after simple but tasty food in relaxed surroundings with very helpful staff.

Despite living nearby I had never been to Moorbrook Lodge as I usually ended up in Crusoes Castlerock. I have to say I was very impressed by my trip. I got simple burger with Brie and cranberry on a brioche bun. It didn't come with any side but I have to say for an early lunch it was just what I needed. The wee one got a cheese and ham toastie. Including a cup of tea, glass of milk and a 15 bun it came to about £14 which I felt was good value. The place is small and cosy and I was sat next t a log burner on a comfortable sofa. It was a lot more relaxed and calm than Crusoes and I'm sure I will be back. Great location as well.

Great little place with friendly welcoming service. Nice small menu and great coffee. Ordered a burger and my only criticism is that the meat itself was obviously processed and frozen hence a little tough and chewey. Recommend making those from scratch as the combination of Brie and cranberry was great and could be even greater. Highly recommend a visit.

Stopped in today at Moorebrook and what a wonderful site to see how this place has progressed over the years. Stephanie and William have done a Brillant job expanding their business. We stopped for lunch which we had outdoors in a wonderful setting with amazing sunshine. The menu has something for everyone from a bowl of soup to Chicken a Bang Bang served the traditional way ..... Cold. We were greeted by Stephanie who is always smiling and we were served very promptly. Food was excellent and so were the very welcomed cool drinks. The Coffe e Shop is in the grounds of Moorebrook Fishery so you can relax and watch the fishermen fish or not at h the fish jump as they try to escape! The thing that struck both my husband and I was the peace and tranquillity and quietness very refreshing.Well done to all at Moorebrook, see you soon!

Off the beaten track, but well signposted from the main Coleraine to Downhill (A2) road (look for the crossroads at the Castlerock turn-off and follow the signs). As well what looks like as a great fishing venue, there is a welcoming cafe/restaurant. We stopped off at lunch time so I cannot comment on breakfast or evening meals but the lunchtime menu covered a lot of bases - soup, toasties, sandwiches, etc. and a beautiful selection of fresh cakes and scones. The coffee is worth the trip on it's own, one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant has a mixture of comfy seats (for those only having a drink) and dining tables, all have an excellent view of the fishing lakes and into the far distance, very tranquil. The service was excellent and the prices were spot on. Now we know about this place, we will return.

My wife and I visited this establishment and were very pleased with every aspect. The choice of food was quite varied and the quality was excellent. We found the staff all to be very attentive and helpful. Daily newspapers were available to read along with some local magazines, there are big comfortable leather sofas to sit on and the decor is very nice with plenty of interesting pictures etc., on the walls. The most impressive aspect of the Coffee Shop is the view... Well worth the visit for that alone. We found it provided peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings and would highly recommend it as a destination for Morning Coffee or Afternoon Tea. There is a path running round all the lakes which makes for a nice little walk after your meal.

Went for the first time for a café lunch. It is signposted from the A2; you need to follow the brown signs for Moorbrook fishery. Small menu as they have recently opened.
