Very disappointing experience. I really rated Moohans when it opened, but the food and service has dropped off. Ordered a takeaway, which was missing several dishes and two of the curries were almost identical despite being described as different. I called the restaurant to provide constructive feedback (rather than leave a negative review) and was promptly promised a call back, but they couldn't even manage that. Won't be going again, too many poor experiences.

This is a great restaurant very nice food I was impressed onion bahji were banging and staff were very friendly, would recommend and will be coming again soon.

we tried this restaurant as there was some good reviews, which after going i am very surprised that anyone can say anything positive about this restaurant, in the years we have been eating in numerous restaurants, this is by far the worst ever experience. When we walked in my initial thought was to walk back out again, unfortunately my husband said we should stay, we stood there for 5 minutes until someone appeared to sit us down. very funny set up in the restaurant, i would describe the surroundings as poorly set out, run down and very basic, the first small room had 3 tables in it , we booked for 8pm on Saturday night, on arrival only one table was occupied, which says a lot. There was some Child's picture on the wall and a Christmas tree which the decorations had been taken off still in the restaurant, the table setting very basic , just a cheap individual wet wipe on a small plate, no serviette or table cloth . The staff serving , a young boy and a young girl , very casually dressed in jog bottoms and track suit , with food on clothing, a piece of material covered a door way in the restaurant , which staff kept going through, to god knows were, upstairs accommodation i wonder ? , unfortunately from where i was sitting i could see straight through into the kitchen , i guy in a coat was cooking the food !, the starter we had popedom's and chutney was then put out by the waiter and the guy in a coat in the next room to us ( not the kitchen ), chutney including mango very watered down, and very small quantity, other chutney very plain, which was lettuce and very small amount tomato. The curry to my horror was served by the guy in his coat ! what is that all about !, the curry tasted like it had every thing chucked into it and it was way too hot even though we love spicey food and always have a jalfrezi or madras, this was way too hot for a jalfrezi , and no peppers in it, the nan were dry and small, no garlic hardly on the garlic nan and the same applies for the coriander nan, i really do not know how they remain open , the restaurant food is very poor quality and the service was very poor, to describe it honestly, it seemed like every tom dick and harry was mucking in, with the guy in the coat cooking food in the kitchen worryingly and then serving it , what is going on ? , i have never known anything like it !!!!, There are some very good Indian restaurant's in Newcastle , which i suggest you try, such as Basmati , this restaurant should be avoided at all costs.

We have been going to moohans for some time now and we know that the food is cooked fresh and due to this you have to wait !! But my god what has happened to this place ! We booked a table online and had no confirmation of booking so went anyway ! Only 4 people in the place ! Sat down on the settee at 8.30 no one even acknowledged us until 9pm ! We were talking to a couple from Boulton who had been waiting for an hour and still had no food ! He had asked for another drink over 20 minutes before but still no drink had appeared ! The staff don’t give a flying monkeys about the eat in customers they are too fixated on the take away orders ! I had to go and get someone’s attention from the kitchen door to let them know they had new customers wait!! We told them we were not happy and asked how long wait for food they said an hour !! How can you wait an hour for food with only 4 people in the restaurant ! If you are running a restaurant you need designated staff to attend to the staff in the restaurant! No one greeting you as you walk in , no one on the bar , just take away staff flitting through the place in jeans and trackies ! Not even interested ! We finally saw the guy who had told us on the last visit he was the owner ! And we told him we were not happy as we had been there for half an hour and noone had even saw us ! We asked a female that we saw how long and she said an hour wait for food ! He approached us and said half an hour which was untrue as the other couples that were sat there has been waiting for an hour !! Within only 4 people in the place ! He told us you know my food is fresh and it takes longer !! Well let me tell you yes your food is fresh and amazing !! But it’s no use having fresh and amazing if you can’t get any !! Or have any staff to even acknowledge or welcome eat in diners who are also paying more money than take away customers ! I think it’s time you shut your doors to dine in as it is an absolute shambles Only 6 months ago I gave a 5 star review ! Well I’d give you a minus 1 if I could !!! I was going to put the worst service ever ! But there was no service at all !! Never again !!! Thank you to Mos kitchen Chinese and a taxi home for saving the evening 😡
