Lovely food. Have visited a million times. Caters for large groups but at times struggles with the demand as we tend to get food a lot later than other people (literally as others finish sometimes) but we have had groups of 20 so its probably not the easiest

Visited as a group of 10 on a mid-week evening, we were the only ones present in the restaurant which may make my next point a bit of an outside example. Service was brilliant considering the size of our group, food and drink ordered effeciently, Cobra lager on tap, which in my mind is a curry house staple. Welcomed with poppadoms and flavourful chutneys whilst our currys were being prepared. I ordered Lamb Balti, plain naan and also shared pilau rice and chips. The balti had a tasty base gravy, tender pieces of lamb and was presented with coriander to garnish, this paired well with the plain naan allowing me to retain those flavours when all parts of the meal were brought together. The naan, whilst fresh just didn't have that softness in the texture that I'd associate with a good naan just out of a clay oven, and curry just didn't knock me out of the park enough to bump this up to a five. There is no parking on site - but options nearby with a pay and display

We went to this restaurant early Sunday evening.The food was average and the place looked grubby.when we mentioned about the decor being unclean around our table the young waiter’s response was, “sorry,I don’t usually work weekends “. I won’t be returning

Lovely food and really helpful staff. Very accommodating to a birthday we had and even helped with the cake.

Food was good however everything else was disappointing. We'd pre-booked for 6 of us and the table wasn't ready when we arrived. We had to ask to have our order taken whilst others who arrived after us were served. Poppadoms arrived but no plates. We had to ask for extra condiments as there was insufficient for 6 of us, and we also had to ask for napkins. Although the food was good, it could have been hotter and we had to wait for the rice which had been forgotten. Unfortunately our first visit was poor with the service dire. We were from out of town and will not be returning.

Family of seven, out to celebrate a birthday. Welcoming staff, pleasant restaurant. Took me ages to choose something from the menu because so many things sounded delicious! Food was delicious, everyone really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend it and can't wait to return.

Arrived at 8:40 and was told the restaurant was closed But closed till 11pm apparently? Man was being sick outside, lots of food seems to be left on a table of around 10, Glad I didn’t eat here

Absolutely shocking service and shocking food when people talk about this place it’s something to try but unfortunately the food we received we poor and nothing better than a takeaway meal from Asda Staff were more bothered about eating there own takeaway food behind the bar area than asking there customers if everything was ok Will take time to come back and give this place a second chance

An amazing experience nice staff and good food. But above all else I got a mint. This Mint tasted like the second coming. I really enjoyed this mint. It tasted as if it was crafted by a divine and holy person.

Oldest Indian restaurant in Newcastle under Lyme and it’s where we eat when we return to our home town and we’ve not been disappointed over some 50 years. The latest visit was just at opening time so it wasn’t busy but it’s nice to have Indian music and softer lights for atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service top notch. It’s a clean and smart room too. We enjoyed it and took home what was uneaten. We will certainly use this restaurant next time we are in NUL.

Very bad service and very bad behavior of staff. I think he was the manager. We asked for fish, he said there is no fish. Then e shouted us and said get out. I don't know what kind of standard he have. Very useless behavior and very bad smell all over the restaurant

Got refused entry for no reason. Just wanted a popadom and he told us no and we had to leave. Was very rude and shut the door on us

Absolutely terrible booked a table for leaving do for 16 people to turn up and they say they haven’t got enough staff on to accommodate the booking. This is not the first time this has happened here would not recommend this to anyone in fact the business needs knocking down useless

We've been going here for years, and have not found anywhere to beat them. However, in the past couple of months, we've found the chicken to be questionable, either from the night before, or horrid chewy bits, unpleasant. Tonight hubby found his chicken chewy and inedible. We suspect cost cutting in purchasing...that is going to lose custom. We will try again in a few months, but not for a while. Really disappointed.

We ordered a meal online, paid by card for delivery from what we believed was the Koh-l-Noor "restaurant " what we had delivered was a take away meal from Kashmir delight ??? Which was horrible 🤮, full of sugar, bland & tasteless. Koh-l-Noor this is wrong on many levels . Including false advertising. 😡 you should explain to customers that their take away will be prepared and delivered from another outlet .

Lovely welcome, waiting on staff friendly and professional, food was delicious and we'll presented, excellent value and everywhere was spotless. Will definitely return.

Ordered from Uber Eats for the 1st time ever and wrong food was delivered. Koh I Noor were so apologetic and immediately cooked fresh food and delivered it themselves. The food was amazing, best curry in a long time. We can't thank them enough for the 5☆ service tonight and the gorgeous food provided. Will be using again, but directly next time.

on arrival the appearance of the restaurant was dirty in certain areas(shelving surfaces were thick in dust) the waiters were inexperienced the table service was poor because of there inexperience ive been going to the Kohinoor over 40 years that was the worst experience

Attended 02/06/23 as part of a group of 12. My brother called 08/05 to book the table but when we arrived we were told there was no booking recorded. After some scrambling around, a table was prepared but we were packed in like sardines and had to get them to provide a further table so everyone could be seated comfortably. Several of the party ordered soft drinks which were flat and we complained about but like for like replacements were not available (surely not impossible to open another bottle of Coke?!) so several of our party ended up with water instead. Orders were not taken down properly, one starter was missed and two naan breads were missed from the mains so those affected had to wait for missing items whilst their food was sitting there going cold. Bill at the end did not detail drinks so we had no way of knowing if we had been charged for the flat drinks we did not consume as well as the replacements. Food was average, takeaway quality at best, had much better elsewhere. Staff were polite but unfortunately their incompetence let them down. My brother says he visits regularly but will definitely not be somewhere I will return to as very disappointing experience overall.

Do not go in late on (after 11pm) expecting food. Three of us arrived at 3 mins past 11pm, to be told they stopped doing food at 11, only take aways. All we wanted was a meal each for the 3 of us. They would not seat us, 3 mins after 11pm. Website, Facebook and Google all say they close at midnight!

we went for a company social evening meal the food was good and the surroundings comfortable, the bill was paid and i have submitted my expenses and found that we were overcharged by £40 this was not picked up at the time so very disappointed by this.

Good place to visit and have a good evening. Food very delicious, service very good. Little freezing but OK, sound too much interference with mic from kitchen ( - ). I recommend this place for a group or two person meal. The price is acceptable but don't expect very low because anyway is a restaurant. I was surprised by story regarding the restaurant is from 1972... Wow... That is a long service of business. I will come again and I will enjoy the good food. Thank you

Went for a nye meal with my partner last night and it was the best curry we've ever had! Perfect. Staff were very warm and welcoming, Quick service, very impressed! We will be back for sure 👍

Had a booking but when we arrived we were told that the kitchen was closed. They did offer mains only but then only to be told no naan bread. When we asked if any kitchen staff on site they got very aggressive and we left. Very disappointing. Would not visit again. Very poor service and no food

Quality food, service and good value. 14 people for a works night out....definitely go again.

Started of as a nice meal we had starters which was nice but then mains came out with ingredients which would cause harm to my wife ( which was coconut)which should not of been in the meal (chicken tikka butter) when we asked about swapping the meal the young waiter went to swap the food reluctantly then try to tell me that these meal may contain coconut anyway lol , then had the ordasinity to tell me that a plain Nan bread might have traces of coconut in it lol

This is a regular place for us when we stay at the Travelodge in Newcastle. Food is excellent yet reasonably priced.

Second visit to this restaurant due to the quality of the food being 👍. However, after the three of us had enjoyed the usual trappings of Cobra, Curry and heavily garlicky nann breads 😋 we came to the end of our meal. Now I have recently had a stomach bypass, was drinking still mineral water and had only eaten a third of my beautiful balti due to the operation so I asked for a container/bag to take the rest home with me. Perfectly normal I hear you say, but no the twist here is that they wanted to charge me £0:50 for the container!! Having worked in catering myself for 30 years I was gobsmacked!! I said to the waiter that I didn’t think that was very fair as a proportion of what we’ve spent but he was not relenting.. I called for the manager who relayed the same drivel about containers costing £0:50 🙄 He wouldn’t back down, I certainly didn’t want the food now and he accused me of being aggressive and he didn’t like my tone?! There was no shouting or swearing and I stayed firmly in my seat (just add for ambiance it was a Sunday night 7pm and we were 3 of 4 people in the restaurant). We 3 were not kings bearing gifts but a management committee of a local 19 strong group discussing our next outing… needless to say we will not be visiting here due to the short sighted greedy attitude… You live and learn..

We visited this restaurant for the first time on a Saturday night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks served quickly. Everything in the menu sounded tempting but with a little help from our waiter we eventually chose something. Food was served at a leisurely but efficient pace and was really delicious. Excellent experience overall, can't wait to return.

Great food, the staff are nice over the phone, Sadly the past 2 weeks the orders I've made have been late either due to driver issues or ticket being missed in the kitchen till I phoned up to ask about it, Its a shame as the food itself is amazing. The orders were made before opening with plenty of time but seemingly my orders were either missed or the driver forgot to pick them up and usually got the food around an hr later than expected which is a shame. The person over the phone was apologetic about the experience and mentioned there was no manager in and for me to leave this review so they could get in contact with me.

Delightful food, friendly service, can't recommend highly enough. The quorn curry is an excellent veggie option.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the rude manager after his colleague firstly got my phone order wrong and secondly the restaurant messed up again and I didn’t realise until I got home. When I rang to tell him his mistakes he basically said I should have listened more when he read out the order again. 3rd mistake in probably 5 weeks. Shame because it use to be a good restaurant. Definitely won’t be returning. Think somebody got the hump with me in the kitchen as this how the popadoms arrived

It was a little disappointing really, the food wasn't great and the service was a little lazy, they weren't particularly busy so it could have been much better unfortunately!

We asked for our dishes to be extra spicy and it tasted just like traditional Bangladeshi cuisine. Huge thank you to the amazing and kind staff. The lamb naga dish and garlic chilli rice was our favourite. Highly recommend this authentic Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant and the prices are reasonable too.

Staff attentive and friendly. Food arrived in a timely manner and was of good quality. They even accommodated a Keema/Peshwari/Garlic naan for one of our party which was not on the menu. Served in some fantastic balti dishes. Price was very reasonable as well...

So I visited the place this week and had the lamb with fried rice. Really good food. Just a little bit spicy for my taste, even having ordered it mild. Really nice staff.

This restaurant was the best in Newcastle for Indian food. However, our experience recently was not good. Service was very slow even though the restaurant was virtually empty. Chicken Tikka Balti was awful, like eating chicken in gravy. Would not recommend

Food came which was cold the chicken curry didn't have much chicken in the nan bread was soggy and tasteless and the popperdom was so burnt it disintegrated in the bag (no chutney) with it.After reading all the good reviews we were hoping for a good curry! .very disappointed!.

We have had a meal delivered for the past few weeks and just cant fault it..had lots of food from all over but this is top nosh..the best and most consistent quality food..

Don't bother they cannot even boil eggs they put you off any food straight away.

I have eaten in the restaurant once and my Husband has been on several occasions with friends and we’ve been really impressed every time.The restaurant is nice and modern but still maintains a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Several little independent ale places near by which are great for a pre or post meal drink.Whilst we have been in ‘lockdown’ we have ordered here twice on a Saturday night to cheer things up a bit and have been really impressed- I would say the best take away curry we’ve ever ordered in terms of quality. We have found that whilst we have our poppadoms for starters, the curry’s keep well in the oven (set about 80 degrees) and when served after 10 minutes or so are perfect. Massive portions- naan breads aren’t huge but plenty between 2 with a curry each and a rice to share. Looking forward to a meal back in the restaurant when the madness is over!

I have visited this long established Newcastle restaurant twice recently and the food has been excellent on both occasions. There is a good choice of dishes with the usual curries but the house specials are slightly different and very good. Service was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is bright and modern and prices are reasonable. Highly recommended - I’ll certainly be visiting again.

Truly awful takeaway. 4 different meals that all looked and tasted the same. King prawns... more like shrimp chippings. Managed to fit 6 on a spoon with room to spare. Too small to be worth taking a photo of. Even our dog turned his nose up at my chicken that looked like stringy egg whites. Manager offered us better prawns on our next order. Brilliant, now what’s that telling you. Used this place for years. 2 bad meals in a month. Won’t be using again.

We haven't been to Koh-I-Noor for quite some time, having heard that it was now very good we decided to try it again. It was very busy - it was a Saturday. Service not very quick but we don't mind that, we had a bottle of wine to keep us company. Food was really good, although as usual we ordered way to much and couldn't eat everything. The staff were so nice and friendly. We will definitely be returning again very soon.

The first and last time I will order from this place. I wouldn’t even leave a single star but that’s the bare minimum that I can leave. The food was appalling. £35 for a portion of cold chips, coconut rice (probably the only good part of the meal), tarka dahl, some bland carrot dish...dreadful.

The food is delicious, cheesy naan and paneer is moreish. Good size servings and reasonably priced. They're on ubereats as well.

We visited the Koh-i-noor restaurant with friends as a group of seven. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a wide choice to pick from on the menu with no issues with half portions for kids. The food was served quickly and was well presented, one of the tastiest meals I've had for a long time. Excellent value for money. The restaurant is licenced with a wide range of drinks on offer.

I had come to this amazing high end restaurant the other week with the lads and I must say we enjoyed every single bit of it as the food was amazing and the service from the lads was very good and cheerful which brought a nice atmosphere to our night.
