We enjoyed a fabulous meal, with superb service and delicious food at this restaurant. The meal was served with charm and great attention to detail. We ordered prawn toasts, duck pancakes and spring rolls as our appetisers and had Thai green chicken curry, chicken with chilli and basil, crispy fried fish and stir fried prawns with vegetables as our mains with egg fried rice and noodles. Each dish was tasty and flavoursome and really enjoyable. We would definitely go back when we next come to Kew.

Great, authentic menu, prepared carefully and with love, bringing out tremendous flavours which other Thai restaurants miss. Sadly, post COVID, seating option no longer available but takeaway worth the wait and walk. I will be back again and again.

I've eaten here 10 times or more. I spent three years working in Bangkok and have good Thai friends so I am relatively clear on what I want from a Thai restaurant. I don't think and Thai restaurant in London can be 100% authentic but this is close. It is run by a charming Thai family and they do all of the favourites very well. Som Tam is spicy and mainly green papaya which is one of my tells for a good restaurant. Poor restaurants or anglicised ones serve it bland, with cabbage and carrot or not at all. I don't think I have had a bad dish here. The only issue can be that upstairs is better ambience but v small. However, downstairs is fine. And they close for quite long holidays.

We had a very enjoyable evening at Montien after a day out at Kew Gardens. The red duck curry was absolutely fantastic and the stand out dish of the evening! The sweet and sour was also excellent. We were a bit disappointed by the noodles however. Service was great. We booked last minute on a Saturday night and the owner kindly squeezed us in.

Have been coming to this little gem of a restaurant for over 20 years and the food is consistently amazing; the best Thai food we have ever eaten. It is always cooked to order; fresh and authentic and beautifully presented. A family affair with Anna in the kitchen, daughter Karen serving always with a smile and dad too! It’s our go to restaurant for perfect food and excellent service and never fails. Our daughters love it too 😋 thank you

I made it clear that I am a vegetarian and ordered accordingly. My vegetarian spring rolls arrived on the same plate as the chicken satay and I should have realised then but as I bit into the second one roll , I couldn’t see any vegetables. When I asked the owner he said it was a prawn. When I complained, the reply was it was just one spring roll and he would replace it with another vegetarian roll. When I tried to explain that I am veggie for my beliefs but a lot people are allergic to shell fish, especially prawns he didn’t seem to be concerned about how serious it could be. We cancelled our main course but the owner wasn’t apologetic or bothered at all.

3 of us had worked up an appetite after walking around Kew Gardens and remembered that Montien had been recommended by an acquaintance. We arrived as they opened at 6.30pm on a Friday and they were soon busy. We couldn't decide what to have as it all sounded lovely so we chose 4 dishes to share. Chicken pad Thai, Massaman curry, mixed veg and chicken with cashew nuts. We also ordered some coconut rice and there honestly wasn't a scrap of food left. It was all so fresh and delicious. For dessert we shared a mango sticky rice. The portion would have been fine for one person, but we only wanted a little sweet taster as we were full. It was great. Friendly staff, fresh tasty food. We look forward to returning.

Recomendado.

Where do I begin, the moment I walked in, I was treated by a gorgeous friendly waitress who sat me at a table, brought me a glass of water that I had requested with the menu. I ordered a Beef Kee Mao and requested Thai spicy. The best bit wasn't just the service, it was the Thai food and it was unmistakable amazing, the best I have ever had. I've been to Thailand and it tasted like the food there - a rare place to find in the UK I complemented the waitress on the food and was informed theres a new Chef, complements to them. I recommend any and all to atleast experience this feeling of great food and service.
