Food was ok very cold on delivery would not order again for delivery

I love love this venue, the food is delicious , even down to the poppodoms and chutney etc…. Chicken dupiaza / bhuna prawn on puree/ chicken madras …… always clear my plate here and 10/0

We had a very expensive mediocre take away meal yesterday. Warm at best pretty Bland food. It's a shame it's went from best on the fell to we won't go there again. Just my opinion

I very much enjoyed the tasty meal (lamb madras & coriander naan) served with draft Cobra beer.

Comfortable and welcoming restaurant. Great range of dishes to choose from the menu, explained in detail and fairly priced. Good portion sizes. Plenty of vegetarian options too. I recommend the mixed kebab starter. I have tried several different mains over the past year and, if you like your sauce to have a kick without numbing your lips and your tastebuds, try the Goan Chilli. There is always a great buzz in the evenings, but not rowdy. Great place for families and couples alike. On-street parking can be difficult to find but there is a car park nearby (fees payable).

One of the best in the North East. Really good quality food and at a very reasonable price. Can’t wait for the buffet to start soon

1st visit last night 24th Sept. We booked our table for 4 of us around 7.30pm. After getting seated, we were quickly handed a drinks menu. Whilst giving our drinks order I asked for recommendations. I am so glad I asked because hands down this was the best dish I have ever had. 😋. Only problem is that I cannot remember the name of the dish 🤣🤣. However, I highly recommend Monsun and cannot wait to visit the area again next year. If they are still around, I will definitely be paying them another visit. Thank you for having us 👍

Disappointed. Ordered takeaway delivery via the app. The food took over 2 hours to arrive and, when it did, the food was cold.

Pickle tray, Goan Chilli Lamb, with Sundries and Breads.. Cooked as I asked with a thick sauce, lamb was beautiful… Really good scran like. Customer service was great. Only negative is I would say it’s looking a bit tired in the restaurant but that’s irrelevant. Top chef

Awful garbage worthy food! Never ever ordering again from this place. Everything was just mixed up and not cooked. The veg pilao rice was almost spoilt and smelt bad... Pls keep away... worst experience and never ordering again! I would have given negative stars if one existed... this is the worst takeaway food we have ever had... We never waste food but we just could not manage to eat much of this trash! Waste of time and money... Advising people to stay clear of this place unless you want to eat filth !

Food not right, waited half an hour for driver to return. Food bland and no spice, about 3 bits of lamb in the whole curry mostly tasteless sauce.

Great little restaurant. Food is delicious with plenty of choice. Staff are friendly and service excellent. Well worth a visit

Food awful, naan bread rock hard, curry runny 5 bits of chicken ,mix kebab starter awful.

The food is tremendous here as is the service. The staff here are attentive, warm and polite. The cost of the food is very reasonable for the quality. Take away is available too and is extremely popular. Parking is free in the car park around the back in the evening. I highly recommend this place.

OK, not great. Chicken overcooked, curry sauce watery, paratha doughy and not much difference in flavour between the three curries. Better places in Low Fell.

Avoid this place like the plague. Poor food and terrible customer service.

The restaurant was a bit run down, waited 30 minutes to be served the main dish. The food was very tasty though!

First take away from Monsun and it was very good. The meat option was very good and the veggie options were great. Excellent value for money. Happy to return to this restaurant in the future.

Good place for a meal been going hear for years now but the prices are getting a little out of hand now big prices smaller portion so we don't eat there as often as we used to

first time order last night, rubbish! just ordered for myself, peshwari naan was just a fat doughy plain naan, butterfly prawn starter was awful, like a breaded piece of cardboard, 'special main Kurma' was anything but special, few lumps of chicken and loads of sauce and nothing else, was recomended to me by a bloke drinking on the fell with no teeth, should have known better! Never again, breaks my heart what people think they can get away with serving, I could have done a thousand times better given a couple of hours i didnt have, but i'll make my own next time, over 20 quid for rubbish.

Lovely food ,great staff fantastic value for money

This unassuming curry house is actually one of the best in the North East. Incredibly friendly welcome, quality food and Cobra on draught what more can you ask for? I've been coming here with my family for years for just that reason Try the Fish massala main and the prawn or lamb buuna on puri for starters.

I can say without hesitation this is the best Indian food I’ve experienced and always consistent with quality and service highly recommend to all

Don't bother ordering online via monsuns online website and downloading the ap! So having spent £32 on a takeaway with specific instructions on the vegetarian order.......it arrives coupled up with meat products! Spoke to monsun who "refuse to give free food".....and take no liability for food ordered on their website and the app they clearly advertise. Apparently the website which states order online.....is not direct to monsun .....stupid me! The notes to chef have been ignored and I am £32 out of pocket! Absolutely terrible customer service, don't bother as monsun take no responsibility! Apparently if I order again there is a unique number to each customer' and it would be on 'the house' but I asked if they could redeliver the correct order tonight but apparently they don't give free food????? Go figure......avoid!

I got half a bag of chips..pathia was like babyfood no sweet n sour just thick soup like mush...masala had no taste all i could taste was base gravy no coconut no cream no sweetness..worst indian food iv tasted..will not go back

Ordered a takeaway tonight first time from here for a few years. The service was spot on. Prompt courteous on arrival and bang on time when I collected. The food was superb. We had the special offer and chicken tikka excellent. I had the sri Lankan and even though not really spicy as expected, was tasty and my sons Rogan was very nice. Thanks, will be returning.

Absolutely my new go to place for a sit down Indian meal not overly expensive too

Had a lovely night here with family, service was excellent and food was great, everybody enjoyed themselves, even brought us a bottle of baileys for us all to have good night ,would recommend monsun to anybody who enjoys a good atmosphere ,service and good food

I ordered a prawn jalfrezi and when it came it was chicken. It was really good though so I just went with it.

More interested in serving just eat customers rather than people in the restaurant. Asked for drinks before we started our main course none arrived. Staff passed us a few times but no one mentioned about getting our drinks. Both our hot curries were mild. Will not be going back. Bad service and mediocre food

Very very nice Indian restaurant. Extremely friendly staff and the food was spot on. Asked for my Jalfrezi to be Vindaloo hot and it was definitely very hot 👌🏻 food came came out nice and quick and the portion sizes were just right. My work mate totally agreed and we both said we will go back there when we're this way again.

Wow beautiful romantic evening celebrating. Only 1 month in, 8 month's to go. My life has just begun. Couldn't be any happier. The night was calm and relaxing with perfect company, full of laughters. Couple glasses of champagne, sharing delicious meal. We wil be back again

Usually have a fantastic meal ,but for some reason my chicken tikka was dry and a little crispy so didn't enjoy , but the others in my group loved their meals.

3rd time we been never been lots in but tonight was busy very poor food and bad service . the waiter asked if we were finished we said no not yet but he still started clearing our table .we had to keeped asking for drinks if we could catch the eye or staff really bad atmosphere tonight

2 and a half hours to have a starter and a main. Waited 1 and a half hours for our onion bajhi and chicken chaat starter. Half an hour wait for some drinks. some of the chicken on the starter and main was hard. Had to change our 1 year olds nappy on the floor of a cold and dirty toilet as no change facilities. This is where they suggested we changed it. Rice had very hard bits of rice in it. Don't know if it was old stale reheated rice or some not cooked rice mixed in with the cooked rice. Chicken was cold to touch but sauce piping hot. They apologised took it away and brought it back out 1 minute later. sauce even hotter and chicken luke warm. obviously a quick microwave job. Out of the 7 of us the two who ate that one have been ill since. used to love this place years ago and were regulars when we lived more local. Seriously gone down hill now though. Won't be back.

Amazing food. The Tandoori chicken is the best in region! and the Jalfrezi is outstanding. Been using Monsun for over 12 years and never once had an issue.

I am not a great Indian food fan but this was some of the best I've tasted. Well cooked and flavoursome without lifting the top of your head off.

Absolutely disgraceful takeaway tonight. Mixed Kebab starter was essentially A red sausage and burger which had no taste at all. Lamb Tikka Bhuna had so much oil swimming on the top I had to drain it off. Veg Pilau tasted of mould and the Peshwari Naan had peanut paste in instead of almond. Absolutely inedible and I'm really not a fussy eater at all.Really disappointed.

Monsun has some of the best curries in the North East and the service is always outstanding. Great restaurant.

Booked table for 9pm for 12 people arrived at 8.55 waited till 9.30pm and still no sign of a table it was obvious that they had overbooked but didn't admitt to it. We left and went to fells kitchen where the food and sevice was exceptional. We will never go back to monsoon in the future.

called in with the family for food on Sat night. only waited for the table for ten mins was happy to wait ordered the food and I ordered the veg curry with steamed rice when the food came i felt embarrassed to be served so called vegetable curry had no taste and the steamed rice was the cheapest rice they could get the rice was poor quality. left half of the food as it was the worst Indian food I've tasted. I've eatting in all the restaurant's all over India and never had a bad curry. but come to your restaurant and call it a Indian meal was a bit of a laugh. not sure who the chef is as he needs to be sacked. he must not care about food if he did then he wouldn't give out such poor meals also small portions very expensive price if I was the owner I would be embarrassed sorry have to be honest
