The best place for breakfast/brunch in Newcastle. I love their eggs benedict with halloumi which I tried at many different places as well but Monsieur just does it best. The place feels very cosy and every member of staff is very welcoming and nice. Will be back for many many more times!

Update 30/8 booked for 10am to ha e breakfast with family. Food lovely as always. We had eggs benedict and american pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. All delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Welcoming establishment with pleasant staff and lovely tasting good value food. Update. Back for the first time in a while. Had sandwiches and crepes, everything spot on. Staff are lovely and helpful.

Took my crepe loving daughter out for lunch here because they also do her favourite iced tea, Jasmine and Lime. She loved her chocolate and oreo crepe and said it was the best Jasmine iced tea she’d had in ages. I had the goats cheese, pear and walnut galette. It was delicious and reminded me of ones I’ve had in Brittany. The staff are what make this place! Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I would definitely recommend, it cost just over £20 for lunch and drinks for 2 of us.

Visited for the first time today with my son and grandaughter. The staff were very accommodating with my order which allowed me to stick to my slimming world plan. My son had the healthy one granola and my grandaughter the little crepe which came in the cutest little dog shaped bowl. Very cute and very child friendly as she is juat 3. The staff were attentive and the food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious! I've been desperate to visit for ages and was not disappointed. Will definitely return and treat myself to pancakes after my holidays!! Booking was online and so easy. Although I didnt use it, I like how updated messages can be sent after booking. Huge menu selection for both adults and children which all sounded lovely. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning

Great service from start to finish. I had all of my immediate family come to visit the north east for the first time since moving here, anxious that we had a high number of people to cater for, I emailed the restaurant a few days early to see if it was possible to book for 14 people. The owners were on holiday but got back to me straight away and were very accommodating, the team back at the cafe followed up with confirmation and checked any requirements. We had a lot of kids with us, and my dad who is disabled takes a while to get settled. The staff were great with us and very patient. Even better, the menu was very impressive and made it tough to pick from, this was backed up with great quality of food, all at reasonable prices. This was our first visit and we’ll definitely be returning.

I visited today with my nephew who is one. Despite it being very busy the staff were very welcoming and chatted to us both. We left the table and floor in a bit of a mess after my nephew had scrambled egg. The staff were lovely about the mess and very kind. Our favourite place to eat and will definitely be back!

Went with a party of seven women who all chose something different to eat. The food was excellent and despite complicated order, all served promptly and correctly. The table easily accommodated us all. Nothing is too much trouble & the friendly staff made all the difference to our experience. I'd highly recommend but I want to be able to book a table next time I go 😉

Went in again today midday ish , had a top notch bacon sandwich , ok not hard but to this standard they are !!! Good tea again done right !!! For first impressions, this place scored pretty high! As soon as we walked in, a guy cooking offered us a menu. The other staff were really friendly too. The food was pretty good, I asked for a sausage, egg and bacon bap, on brown. It wasn't on the menu and they said yes right away! Very generous with the servings. The coffee was alright, but not as good as I expected. And the only other thing was, that there was no seating inside, so we had to sit outside and it was a tad cold! Overall, will go back when I'm up that way. Thanks to the staff for making us feel welcome :)

This café is a gem, always hits the spot with extensive menu, relaxed atmosphere and super friendly, attentive team & hosts. Afternoon teas are really lovely for a special occasion treat. Need another bannoffee crêpe 'n flat white fix soon!

Our favourite Cafe in Newcastle. Take the kids for a treat breakfast on Birthdays and for the amazing pancake stacks. Always warm and friendly. On the occasion we haven't booked a table (recommended as it's very popular) they've always either squeezed us in or offered an alternative. Blankets provided outside too if you fancy the geordie sunshine! Recommend the flat whites, big breakfast and any of the crepe or American style pancake stacks.

Absolutely amazing cafe. This is shown by just how busy they are on a daily basis. We always call ahead to avoid disappointment. The food is soo nice. Everything always tastes fresh, amazing value for money and even better they use local supplies where possible. The service considering how busy the place can be is great. Everyone is friendly and happy to help.

Such a happy place, great food, great atmosphere and fabulous staff, they are so friendly and make everyone so welcome and happy to make a little fuss of you when its your birthday ... its always busy so that says how good everything is ... a little gem well worth a visit ... but book so your not disappointed

Absolutely lovely place have only ever visited for breakfast but every time service and food has been outstanding.

A regular breakfast haunt for me, in fact it's my favourite breakfast haunt, have been with several different friends and my husband too, no complaints from anyone, always book as it's so popular which speaks for itself, fav choice is wholemeal toast, bacon or ham, poached eggs and a side of beans washed down with a skinny latte. Great staff, friendly, funny and helpful. Love it!

Always amazing food, staff are so friendly and the prices are great. It gets super busy so your best booking but we’ve always got a table just turning up, you might have to wait a little while.

One of our family’s favourite places. Fantastic food and service every time. My kids like things a certain away and the staff have always been really accommodating. Please ignore the one bad review. Yes you have to book to guarantee a table but that’s because it’s a well loved cafe!

I visited Monsieur Crepe with my friend and my little girl on Friday. We fancied a crepe and so I suggested we go here as I’ve been a number of times and it’s always lovely. My little girl wasn’t in a great mood so we decided to get it to takeaway … but then everything changed when we went inside. The lovely gentleman at the counter asked my daughter which character she likes and printed her of some pictures to colour in, this turned her mood right around and, in turn, our trip was saved! We ended up eating at the cafe and the food was lovely. The service was second to none - with special thanks to the gentleman who printed the pictures, and spoke to my daughter with kindness and respect, and the lady who served us who was just lovely. Will be back ASAP. X

We recently visited to celebrate my son’s 10th birthday and had a fabulous time. Staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. It was really busy but the service was fantastic and every time we’ve been they always make my children (and me) feel so welcome. Thank you!

Brilliant venue, friendly staff and awesome food. Always busy and the owners and staff always make you feel welcome. They also have a very good booking service I appreciate being able to turn up and know that a table will be available for me without having to queue like other venues. Given the size of the restaurant and how popular it is I would never assume (like the previous reviewer) that I could just turn up and expect them to have room for me. They are a small business and shouldn’t be expected to keep spare tables on the off chance someone turns up.

There’s no availability for walk-ins, like ever, even if you wanted to wait for a table to clear. You get the “oh you haven’t booked” pity look at the entrance as if they are serving fresh oysters and lobster bisque out of a 2 star Michelin menu. Since when cafes have become this pretentious ?! My suggestion, have a few tables or a bar for walks ins, like most places have.

Myself, my mam and sister visited today for Christmas afternoon tea which was amazing! Whenever we are wanting to book afternoon tea the first place we go to to book is Monsieur Crepe - we wouldn’t go anywhere else! The food is amazing, the staff are so polite and helpful and Marc and Gary are so welcoming to all of their customers!

Great atmosphere and staff were very friendly and on top of things. Stars and stripes: Hash browns, bacon and sausages were lovely. Pancakes seems like they had been left out on a hot plate for too long so they were super dry. Poached eggs: The ratio of bread to eggs was completely off. Way too much bread considering the tiny size of eggs. Eggs were also overcooked so quite disappointing.

A good place for lunch with a good choice of food. An extra bonus is you can book a table.

Booked for a bite to eat before an event at benfield sports centre and really pleased we did. Beautiful cafe, warm inviting atmosphere, excellent service and the food was delicious. It was excellent that they cater for gluten and dairy free so one of our party could enjoy their meal with us. Would absolutely recommend

Another fabulous Yoga Social at Monsieur Crepe. Such a gorgeous cafe, food is amazing, menu is fab & staff are so friendly & helpful. This really is a hidden gem, if you have never been get yourself along. When it’s warm enough you have the option of sitting outside. Huge bonus that also dog friendly, dogs welcome inside and out.

Used to be lovely but is no longer "dog friendly" only "dog tolerant". Won't be going again.

What an amazing little gem this place is Marc and Gary and there amazing team are absolutely amazing It's difficult to say what is the best thing here as everything on menu is lovely Mind you crepes are absolutely to die for cooked to order and taste absolutely amazing (sweet and savoury) If you haven't tried you your missing a treat x

Partner came this morning with my autistic daughter who had been dying to try this place (even though we live in the area) she has never tried crepe’s so was excited. Miserable manager I’m assuming was the manager, came over and said “yeah” no welcome, good morning nothing! Then asked how many people would be eating for a table, partner replied 2. To then be told no tables :/ so why ask how many? Plenty spare tables. Clearly a place for regulars and if you’re not one then you don’t fit! Went to dean and daniellas up the road and had fantastic service with a smile and nothing was to much for them :)

This is a great place if you just want a coffee or some food. Friendly, comfortable and good quality.

Well, all we were after was to try an iced coffee and Google maps led us here. The staff were incredible and squeezed us in ..out table was booked for a hour ahead in time from when we arrived. They are attentive and friendly. Our coffees arrived quickly and so did our food. My food was so good I started chuckling. I tasted my partner's eggs Benedict and it also blew my mind. I live for finding surprises and good adventures. If you want good food ...the choices are extensive. The coffee is bang on. You won't regret it.

Awesome place, we didn't make a reservation because we just searched for a cafe on the spot. They were so nice to accommodate us on a very busy sunday. Food is absolutely delicious. First time having a galette, loved the pastry. The chef choices are also the best on the menu. Will definitely visit again whenever I am in Newcastle.

Have come for breakfast on a nice peaceful Saturday morning. Entering, we are warmly greeted by the lovely staff and led to our reserved table, as its such a popular venue. There is a wide variety of options available for breakfast and the food was beautifully cooked. I'll come for dinner time one day but I'm sure it will be of the same high quality all round no matter the time of day. Everything is very clean and our young daughter has been catered to very nicely.

First time here well looked after by the owner as our table was being held on to by a couple who just didn't care that others were waiting, and I think they knew it, but we were seated eventually and given free drinks for the wait, can I thank the management for the care and service.

Great food, fantastic service.. They even offered me some Loan Sunglasses as the sun was beaming down on our table outside (which is a lovely setting by the way). I just wish I’d had room to try one of the crepes after choosing the big breakfast.
