Me and my ''WHOLE'' Family enjoyed a nice and relaxing Indian at Momtaj, First of is that somehow they had enough Space to fit all 24 of us in whilst not being squashed, My starter was sooo good that I had to order seconds!, The meal that I had was delicious it was the ''Railway lamb curry'', ''The whole meal was to a breathtaking experience.'' "Superb food and atmosphere, serving staff were great too, very enjoyable evening" ''I will defo be going back to momtaj'' For 24 of us it only came to £267 without the drinks because my cousin Joni bought the drinks for us on the night

Brilliant place good service food is brilliant no alcohol license so bring your own wine. Always helpful staff

Very nice just been refurbished,spotlessly clean,lovely food 🥘 and nice pint of cobra 🐍,down side is the price, not cheap but the quality of the food can't be faulted.not many parking spaces due to trees 🌲 everywhere!!!

What can I say apart from amazing on every level. Food is the best I've tasted staff very pleasant, we are already planning our next visit.

We've had a few takeaways and the food is generally tasty but it's a bit variable. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Good value.

Great Indian with lovely food and good quality. Staff are fanatic and always happy to help. Sunday they do the buffet witch is great money for value. Would highly recommend it for a nice meal or takeaway.

The waiters are friendly, they serve nice food and give great service. If you do visit Maesteg, Momtaj indian is a must visit.

This place used to have stunning food,freshly cooked,very tasty. A few months ago we had a delivery,the chicken curry was beautiful but the chips were soggy the keema nann was missing meat, onion bajees were like rubber balls, side salad was very wet and limp, but their chiken tikka main is stunning. Was quite disappointed as it came to £21.00. They must have had new owners because this friday night we really fancied an indian takeaway, when it arrived ( we gave them the benefit of doubt) it was once again terrible. Only the chips were edible totally gutted it was tasteless even our daughter who is 6 refused to try the onion bajee as they were not very nice looking and were once again like rubber balls cooked 3 times but their chicken tikka main is still stunning. Will be talking to the person in charge very soon as me and fiance had an upset stomach saturday morning. We will NOT be eating here ever again after complaining as standards have dropped dramatically. So if it's a good indian meal you are looking for in maesteg i suggest you pop up to tesco and buy they're ready packed meal for £7.00 which is alot tastier and fresher tasting and alot more cheaper,So very sad to write this as we really used to look forward to having takeaway meal here, why is it so hard to get consistancy where food is always beautiful not asking for much are we.

Typical Indian food but the staff make the difference. Warm welcome, efficient service and nothing is too much trouble.

what a great place. it offers delivery or collection with a 10% discount. the naan bread is absolutely incredible. the Sunday buffet is good. it's a lovely place I go to again and again. I would definitely recommend.

Ordered a takeaway which turned out to be absolute rubbish.Both the Chicken Dish and Lamb dish had so little meat they could have been classed as vegetarian and the sauces were thin and watery.I will be sticking with my local takeaway from now on

Quick service. All curries tasted the same. Had king prawns, which were unlike any prawns I've ever had before, couldn't eat them. Many different people walking in and out of the kitchen, which was very off putting. Won't be returning and I would not recommend!

Went to Momtaj while in Maesteg visiting family. Knew we were going to the 'local curry house' and expected the usual runoff the mill food - how wrong I was! Fantastic food served by a memorable waiter who had a touch of Manuel (Fawlty Towers) about him.. I had the amazing Laal Mas which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the Chicken Muli, which also delicious. And (almost) best of all was the great value bill! Thank you Momtaj, I look forward to visiting again.

We have had first class meals and sometimes less inspired. However the staff are always charming and it's an inexpensive night out...some nights better than others. Our last visit was a very successful fund raising night and it was first class.

I eat at this restaurant at least once a month, I'm quietly going through the very extensive menu and I've never had a meal I didn't like. The staff are very helpful and will explain what every meal consists of and how it tastes. I've eaten at Indian restaurants right throughout Wales, and believe me this is the best.

I have been going to this restaurant/takeaway for years, the food is superb and the staff are really friendly and helpful, good atmosphere if you are eating in and you can bring your own booze. Highly recommended.

By far one of the best Indian Cuisine restaurants, and right on our doorstep! We really do love this little family owned and run restaurant - the welcome is always friendly, the service is impeccable and the food is consistently good. They also have a very reasonably priced drinks menu. There is a very diverse food menu with every area of India covered and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal here. There is also an alternative 'English' option for non-Indian Cuisine lovers that I've been told is good, but I have never tried. On Sunday's they offer an 'all you can eat' buffet from a limited selection for an excellent price, and us locals often frequent it. I would highly recommend the Momtaj.

ordered a take away took and hour to deliver, food was very average, we have had good meals before but this meal very disappointing

I went to Momtaj as a christmas do with work, it was a very nice meal and because they couldn't serve alcohol we were allowed to bring a bottle in which made the meal less than £8 for myself, very happy with that! One meal was forgotten about out of the 8 of us, but they rushed it out and apologised.

Phoned up started to place my order then i was told to hang on a sec all i could hear was the man shouting in the background he came back on the phone i carried on placing my order.I then asked if i could pay by card i was made to wait 3 times while he took other phone orders witch i thought was very rude and when he finally got back to me and finished taking payment there was no thank you or he did not let me know price or how long delievery would be.MY FOOD TOOK APROX 20MINS TO ARRIVE WITCH I WAS A BIT UNCERTAIN OF THINKING IT MAY HAVE BEEN RUSHED AS THEY WHERE SO VERY BUSY 'BUT I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH MY MEAL THAT WAS VEGTABLE BOHNA ONION BAJI COCANUT RICE AND GARLIC NAN VERY TASTY :)

The Momtaj offers a very exciting menu ,,, a fine welcome when you arrive ,, a lovely place to dine for sure ... My Wife and myself dine there often and have always enjoyed what we ordered .. There is a Take Away service within a certain radius too and you don't have to wait long for the delivery

Food very ordinary, certainly nothing to 'write home about'. Raita watery and tasteless. Service poor. While we were eating our poppadoms, the waiter walked up to our table and without speaking leant across the table between us, moved the food to the other side of the table away from us and moved the hot plate so it was between us! He then walked off, went to the kitchen and re-appeared with our mains, even though we hadn't finished the starters. Very rude. Shan't return.

I have been going to Momjaj for over 10 years! It is the best Indian take away and restaurant in the area! I would not choose to have takeaways from anywhere else. The staff are always welcoming and the restaurant is always clean. Top place and the staff and owners should be proud. Very much recommended!

Forget a traditional roast if you're near Maesteg I recommend you get to Momtaj. Great selection of dishes on the Sunday buffet all delicious and staff friendly. Restaurant very clean.

Over the years we have had many take away and sit down meals here every time we have had excellent food and staff are always really pleasant and very good prizes and quantity for food

A very busy restaurant on the night I visited,in a large group. Due to the size of our group we had quite a wait but when the food arrived it was indeed worth the wait.Inexpensive,clean and cheerful

Love coming here when I come home to visit family. Was very busy but we had booked our table...luckily! Drinks came as did the starter, chicken chat was lovely and spicy. Little bit of a wait for our main, but it was worth the wait! I always judge an Indian restaurant by it's Tarka Daal, and this didn't disappoint! Will come back time and time again!

Went for a meal hear earlier this week. Was greeted by friendly staff and a warm atmosphere in the Restaurant. Good selection of meals to pick from on the menu. I went for the welsh lamb curry and chicken dhar dhar both were very tasy meals would highly recommend a visit.

We booked a table and on arrival the table was ready for us. They provide a great pint of cobra. The food is first class, served piping hot with loads of flavour. The fresh nan bread is to die for. Excellent value for money will definitely be returning.

I love Indian food but my family doesn;t, so it;s a rare treat whenI get the chance to indulge. I ordered a bespoke meal they were happy to prepare for me, it was not on the menu. Not only did they serve me a decent sized great tasting fresh curry at the table, but they also packed up extra rise and the remainder of the bespoke curry they tailored for me to take home. Absolutely great people, beautiful food, I wish I could get back there more often.

The food is AWESOME so much to choose I always go for the vegetarian options and it's great . Staff are very nice and friendly . It's quiet there and the music creates a relaxing vibe and I'ts lovely to eat and have a catch up with friends or family :)

We have a takeaway from here weekly. To be honest I'd eat here every night if my mrs would let me. Please try it you won't be disappointed. I'm just hoping they put a chicken tikka nan wrap on the menu cause I'll defo be up there every night!!!!

lovely food with different variety including vegetarian :) had a takeaway not so long ago and went to pick it up only to realise when we had got home we were missing two mint sauce which were paid for so had to take another trip out to get it. Also ordered a takeaway another night for delivery, waited an hour and a half for it, phoned up and the order had been lost, so waited a further half hour....... although they did give us free compliments when we had the delivery.....chutneys and popadom's so all was forgotten :) :) very friendly staff and good value for money and lovely food.

Food here is always fantastic. Loads of choice and great quality. They even make things not on the menu. I often order a vegetarian version of something on the menu and they are happy to help. So glad they now deliver to our area.

As always, this award winning Indian Restaurant serves the best, sit down and take-away for miles. The aroma, taste, colour an presentation of the chosen dishes is exquisite. However, because their food is so good, the experience can be marred by the constant arrival of customers collecting their take-aways.
