We came here with friends last night (17-08). First impressions were of the decor, beautiful! Service was brilliant as was the food and the staff. A very enjoyable evening.

Went to the Mombay Brasseris for a family event ( Family from Bristol,Reading ) food was fantasic great seclection of food, food come out in good time for fresh cooked food, great service your glass was never empty, the staff were very friendly, will definitely as its one of the best currys i have had in a long time.

Whilst staying at a local hotel I picked up a menu. Decided to have a takeaway rather than eat in. I went in to order the food and picked it up 30 minutes later. The staff were more interested in looking at baby pictures on one of their phones, than in bothering with customers. The food was OK, not exciting but a basic indian. I thought the prices on the menu were reasonable but it cost a bit more than expected when I paid. Not enough difference to question but later I did check against the menu. I didn't have an itemised bill but it looks like they added a £2.00 delivery charge to the order, even though I'd picked it up in person. Overall impression - Nothing special.

Terrible experience for the price honestly we came to Plymouth on a tight budget and this just ruined it food was terrible and rotten had a garlic naan bread it was so thin like it was toasted only good part of the meal was chips and poppadoms no big bottles of water don't go don't waste your money then when the bill finally arrives it was £67 .10 p we were ready to pay for nearly 10 minutes no-one came back to are table so we get up to pay at the counter and both people working there run to the counter as fast as they could like we were trying to dine and dash don't go terrible service terrible food

We wanted to try somewhere we hadn’t been before and this is where we decided to go… With amazing reviews and recommendations from friends! A wide selection of different dishes to choose from… the Shagdalic meal was out of this world! The most amazing curry I’ve ever tasted. Would highly recommend, can’t wait to come back and try something different. Thanks for a lovely meal Nick, compliments to the chef too 😊 x

Food was nice, but service slow.

Called in without booking but no problems getting a table. The waitress was very chatty, helpful and friendly. Lots of choices on the menu. The only negative thing was the food took a while to come to the table. But it was very tasty when it arrived. That apart I can see no reason not to recommend 🍴

We had a really wonderful meal at Mombay Brasserie this evening. We walked over from Queen Ann’s Bettery Marina and found this gem of an Indian restaurant. The food was delicious and very unique to this place. Definitely not the run of the mill standard fare! We aim to come back next time we are docked at QAB 👍

Ordered take out via jsut eat. First time using these guys. Delivery took 50 mins on a friday night, lovely friendly delivery lady, food was absolutely piping hot on serving. My partner didnt like the rice as said it was too bland but his tikka masala was superb. I had Bombay potatoes and polished off the lot (unusual for me) chips were fries but nice and crispy. Poppadums were warm and fresh. Our new indian!

Ordered at 7.30pm on a Monday, arrived at 10pm!! Wasn't worth the wait. Everything over spiced, even the bhajis. So disappointed.

Nick and Jolly are fantasic hosts and the food was excellent. I lost my mobile phone in the restarurant and Nick looked after it for me until I could retrieve it the next evening. Thank you so much for a lovely warm welcome and good food.

Myself and my fiancé booked a table for two at 7pm for her birthday meal in which we were hugely disappointed and angry. To start with, we ordered at 7.10pm and it took them 40 minutes to bring our drinks and our condiments. Another 30 minutes passed before our food came out, when it did arrive it was cold, full of oil and tasteless. No flavour at all. To add to this, we’d eaten our condiments and popadoms, asked for more which they charged us extra for even though they were meant to be free with our meal. When we went to leave, we’d already added it up to a total of £43 however, the manager charged us £59 and when we challenged it he got very aggressive and refused to accept what we said. We paid and he was very rude to my fiancé and upset her. AVOID THIS PLACE BY A COUNTRY MILE! HORRIBLE STAFF AND HORRIBLE FOOD!

Dreadful place, food was pre packed and not fresh, dirty napkins, with holes in linen. Aggressive owner/chef. Unable to accommodate large parties and waited over 2hrs for food and left after a big row which absolutely spoilt our evening. Gone off food, that’s if you get the food as some of the party never had their order. Never have I ever experienced such unprofessional behaviour. Please do not waste your money. The premise is known to the area for its uncleanliness and aggression when speaking to locals. Avoid at all costs.

This place is absolutely brilliant! Best Indian I've ever had, the texture of the meat was perfect, the flavours rich and amazing and the service was top level. Will definitely be going back and would recommend this place to everyone, easily the best Indian I've had period let alone in Plymouth.

Best Indian restaurant we've been to!! We tried all the dishes we usually have when ordering and they were incredible. Chicken tikka masala and onion bhaji were the best we have had! I tried a new dish for me and had the chicken sagorana and it was fabulous. Even the rice was the best fluffy and full of coconut. We can't wait to come back!

I recently dined at Mombay Brasserie and it was absolutely amazing! The food was incredibly flavourful and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place for a delicious meal. I highly recommend trying their chicken shagorana with a peshwary nan 👌

Well after waiting 2hrs 30 minutes after phone calls food arrived the curry was full off oil .not happy £108.10p with all going into bin we all feel robbed so disappointed 😞 will never use them again 😢 spoiled the night 🌙. Going to go to Mcdonalds now to feed the kids.sorry we couldn't bring the food back as all had a drink thats why we ordered a takeaway

Took two and a half hours to get a takeaway delivered. When it arrived it was nearly cold and sadly lacking in flavour. Never again.

The best curry house in Plymouth, I would also say this is my all time top curry house in the UK. What a pleasant surprise, first visit but hopefully not my last. Food was Excellent. Ambience superb, Service very kind and professional. Well done.

However I was very shocked at the service we received. We ordered the set meal for 4 but when our mains came out they were TERRIBLE! All of the curry’s lacked any flavouring, the rice was stodgy and we left pretty much all of it. When the waitress asked if we enjoyed the meal we explained that it didn’t taste of much and brought over the owner to talk to us. They offered us a £7 discount off a meal that was £122 and then when we told them we weren’t happy with that he continued to get very aggressive and abusive towards us. The son locked the door and stood in the way holding us against our will. We had to ring the police and get them to come to the premises to help us leave the situation. It was the most scary and traumatic thing I’ve ever gone through and it’s safe to say I definitely won’t be returning. I have video evidence of the owner’s behaviour and actions towards us and I will be contacting the police to take this further.

Our friends left and the staff held me and my wife in a completely empty restaurant against our will and locked the door, wouldn’t let us leave until we have paid the full bill. He then called the police saying we were throwing plates and threatening there life. 7 police officers turned up to rescue us from being completely attacked. My wife was petrified to the extent she wet herself. Absolutely mortified. This is my first ever review. Please avoid this place. It only takes one complaint from you. I’m sure he will reply saying that I’m a competitor like all the other ones he replies to. Well I’ve also posted the same review on there Facebook page and if you click my profile I’m happy to send over video evidence of the owner screaming at my wife while she said in her seat crying her eyes out as I was on the phone to the police.

From the outside the appearance is very inviting, colourful and well done. Inside is dark even tho a lot of coloured led lights and other effects are everywhere. I visited about 8:30pm in a weekday, I expected a semi busy restaurant and maybe even told I might need to wait for a while. That was not the case the restaurant was almost empty and made me think I might be making a mistake, after all eateries best promoted by behinds on seats, yes?. Anyway I took a lonely seat for 1 in a booth. Attentively serviced by the single person, while taking orders, serving drinks and bringing food to tables took my order. Not a hard thing as by now I was the only customer, apart from a young man in the booth 1 spot from me. Medium to good so far. Then the young man. So picture this, me, very tired long day hungry and a 200 mile drive ahead of me to get home, over the low ambient mood music being piped I'm thinking just feed me and let me get on with it. I'd talked myself out of yet another motorway sandwich that was probably the result of a science experiment. Yaeee sit down food nice experience bring it on. Then it started the young man started a video call on his phone with his girlfriend, speaker on and full volume, that's when I wished for the pipes music to be more like the clash at Wembley full volume. I heard it all on the little phone, those speakers have a way of getting out there, amazing. Full blown conversation about acne, pimples and where they have been literally popping up all over. "Stop eating cheese he says to his girlfriend, that takes the conversation on another tangent about veganism and animal welfare. I've had enough and move to a table as far as I can from this public conversation live fest health trip. Then I notice the waiter come out from the kitchen with plates of food, I wave to him call him but he doesn't see only the empty space that I previously and reluctantly lived in, he does a 360 and goes back in the kitchen, it has to be my food I'm the only customer. Shoutin is heard I guess the chef is getting a grilling for taking more than 39 mins (remember that's 39 mins listening to pimple remedies) to get my dish ready. Noise shouting finished waiter reappeared, "Hey please can I have my food" reply "Sorry sir I did not see you, let me take your order". me "Order? Order? I've already ordered you came out with my food, I tried to get your attention because yes I moved but I'm still here, don't you recognise me?" "I'm sorry sir give me 5 minutes I'll get your order". It comes, it's bad I eat it I eat it all, despite the fact It doesn't have any familiarity with the dish that I've had in any Indian restaurant before. I decide to get up and leave pay my bill on the way out and just go home and dream of a motorway sandwich, glorious. However even though I had talked myself down from creating any conflict with the young person on a video call in the middle of a restaurant very loud I could not resist one comment to him as I walked past. "Rude, very rude phone on speaker in a restaurant. Just rude". A little voice came out of the phone, "What did that guy say? Have you had me on speaker in the restaurant omg". That's when it took me over. "Yes he has and everyone now knows about your pimple problem and just where you get these pimple problems". Then to top it off, as I'm waiting at the counter to pay my bill the waiter comes back and, not recognising me again he asks me " would like a table for four people". Looking behind me I realised that three other people had wandered in and were standing behind me, Bemused I said "no I would like to pay for my food". He then asked "Have you already ordered let me see if it's ready for you sir" and I said "I've already ordered and I've eaten it already I was the guy that was sitting in that seat then moved to another seat you've forgotten me twice now I just want to pay and go please let me pay. The three people asked me "is it any good" nodding a head in the direction of the empty tables. Needless to say I gave them my thoughts. I'm sure any other it'd be ok.

Whilst staying in Plymouth we found this lovely Indian restaurant opposite our Premier Inn. 4*hygiene rating on the door we decided to give it a go. Menu selection was good, dishes we hadnt heard of before. So a break from the norm. The single waiter was attentive, although he hadn't realised we didn't have cutlery and he gave me a chipped plate. Apart from that service was good and food was nice. I had king prawn garlic summer khan and husband had chicken ceylon. I wanted a lemon rice that wasn't on the menu and they kindly made it for me. Overall worth a try and reasonably priced.

This is restaurant quality food delivered for those who are reading reviews to make a decision to try the place. The chicken tikka is so sweet and creamy the madras is full of lamb and the biyriani is the nicest I’ve tasted in Plymouth.

A short break in Plymouth at the premier inn Lockyers Key, opposite the Mombay Brasserie, we popped in for a quick meal on the off chance. It was amazing. We were welcomed with a handshake at the door and then met by the daughter of the owners. She explained that our food would be cooked by her parents. It was the most authentic delicious tasting Indian meal we have had in a Indian restaurant....the stuffed chicken garlic chilli massolla was incedible..as was the chicken Korma.....all freshly cooked..with sauces that were homemade and exquisite and obviously made with love. The restaurant may be off the beaten track...but absolutely well worth a visit. We would have given 6 stars if we could.

The chicken tikka was unpleasant. Both curries we had were average for this type of food . Its a lot of money for maybe a chicken breast each in an average slightly watery indian sauce. Poor value for money

Food tastes nowhere near indian cuisine, quantity per dish sufficient for a kid or so. Food is too oily. Not even good atmosphere. It was a total disaster.

Quite honestly the worst Indian food I have ever had. Dupiaza tasted like fruit juice? And Pasanda was cold and flavourless. Rice was watery and clumpy. Just an overall terrible experience. Don't even bother

Over an hour late. Rang to find out where it was and received poor customer service. Once delivered, it just got thrust into my hand. Forgot part of the order. Very poor. Will not be ordering again which is a shame as the food itself is nice.

Disappointed, curry sauce for biriani was watery, no flavour. Biriani dull no flavour rice poor and claggy overcooked. Barely any chicken five small pieces size of maltesers! Popodums one was bendy damp soggy and other was singed / burnt . What happened to you I used to love coming to you !! Very poor indeed … even my chapati was wet and floppy not good , definitely don’t deserve your elaborate write up on your page .. bad food guys

Ate there tonight as it’s directly opposite the Premier Inn I was staying in and looked far nicer than the adjacent Pub. The owner is a lovely Guy who had a difficult evening with a group who decided they didn’t want too pay. I can recommend the house special Chicken Shagorana 👌🏻 Will definitely return when next in Plymouth 👍

This is by far the best Indian in plymouth, I highly recommend the garlic chilli chicken and the mixed tikka platter. We are back again this weekend.

Love the Food, love the service and loved the super cool interior design. We ordered the Chicken Tikka on a sizzling plate with onions. Chicken Tikka Dansak mushroom rice and of course some poppudums. Highly recommend shame we live so far away.

The Mombay Brasserie in Plymouth is absolutely wonderful! We were very warmly greeted by a fab gentleman that runs this brilliantly located restaurant (behind the Aquarium near the famous Barbican) with his lovely Wife. The gentleman seems to be front of house & his Wife...

I have been visiting restaurants owned by this proprietor for over 20 years. Never had a bad experience. It is always a treat to visit and enjoy the menu. A particular specialty is the Sag Paneer. A wonderful family business with a great atmosphere.

Lovely home-cooked food. Family business with excellent friendly service. Would highly recommend it.
