Molo Lounge in Southend-on-Sea

The food is usually good and they have a wide range of vegan options available (gluten free too I believe). However, it is rather pricey for what you get. The staff mostly all friendly and helpful, but the service can be very slow at times. The place is very uniquely decorated and has a very relaxed atmosphere. We don't visit often, but we always enjoy ourselves when we do. One thing I don't like, is how they waste the menu. We saw all the menus being thrown away at the end of the day. It would be much better if they were to have reusable ones rather than paper ones that get thrown away. It's an awful lot of waste.

They have an amazing extensive gluten free menu, it would have been five stars, but I could not get under the table in my wheelchair to eat my food. It is fully wheelchair accessible apart from this feature. The bar guys and the waitresses were very friendly, providing a great atmosphere. The chocolate milkshake was well made.

It was our first visit to the Southend Lounge Bar. Great food, great service especially from the manager Sam. Also dog friendly. Will visit again when we are back in the area.

Had a lovely brunch here with the family. Staff were really friendly, food was good and it was simple enough to order using the app (ordering at the bar is possible too). I had the Miami Brunch which was delicious.

Walked into Molo Lounge and we were immediately seated . The waiters were friendly and our food was served quickly. There were good section of food, I ended up having a Burger with chips for £11 which wasn't too bad. I would definitely come back here again and would recommend it.

Staff were lovely, food came quick, great atmosphere. We both really enjoyed the homemade drinks. Definitely recommend the Watermelon ice tea and tropical dream!

Group of us were here on Monday evening. Great selection of dishes and drinks. We all had some cocktails, 2 for 12 before 8pm. Fabulous! Great place to meet friends.

What on earth has happened to molotov lounge...1pm today...dirty tables not bn cleared at least 6....cleared then not cleaned...staff well what can I say...and then the food yuk...I used to like this place...won't be returning

Arrived during a busy time and was asked to return in 15 minutes, which was fair. When we came back, we were told it would be another 15 minutes but could wait outside with a coffee, which was fine. However, a couple who had just arrived asked if there were any tables available and were seated immediately. The staff at the door seemed uncoordinated, with some guests waiting over 30 minutes while others were seated right away. Poor customer service and organization.

Gluten free tapas was really nice ...was great having a choice of drinks with lactose free milks too

Really nice spot to grab a bite to eat in Southend. The shakshuka is amazing!

Tapas was disappointing. Patatas bravas had tasteless dip, 3 chicken wings were a bit sparse and mini pulled brisket was mostly gravy, no meat. = £13.95. However friends 'Buddha bowls' are worth recommending. Contained a good assortment of veggie goodies.

Was my first time dining at the Southend Essex restaurant location. I had been to to others in the past knew what to expect. Very understaffed and felt extremely uncomfortable from the moment I went in and sat down. Staff staring at me throughout my visit and continuously walking around tables not knowing what to do with their time. Overpriced for the portion size too. Won't be returning

Came here and had a slice of toast, generously washed down with a shandy. I ate it on the lawn outside, while writing poems about Jeremy Beadle.

It is ridiculous that you cant order anything without providing unnecessary information, ie name, phone number, email. The only possible reason for this is to sell on personal details. When credit card provider wanted secondary authentication it was impossible to access email for code without having to start order again and keep going in circles. Menu is very limited.

Another great outlet for the Lounges. Food and drink are just as fast and tasty as others. I have two tiny nitpicks: I wish staff had ah identifier, a lanyard or badge so I can grab the right person's attention. And you might want to choose your timing for this venue; at this end of the high street on a Friday night it needs door security who love nothing more than smoking away blowing into the room while you're eating. Pretty gross. Other than that a great place to socialise.

Lovely meals for 10 persons. Wide selection of gluten-free and vegetarian meals.

Paid £12.75 for buttermilk chicken, slaw and chips, plate was half empty without the sauce that was put on to fill up the plate! Chips was never filled the container as put in a v shape paper so chips mainly at the top. Complained to the waiter but he said it's not up to him the portion control!!

Popped in with Husband and Hound as my husband fancied a margarita. The margarita available is not traditional, its a chilli slushy type drink. That in itself is not a massive issue, apart from the brain freeze, it was quite nice. And since the closure of Revs, finding a dog friendly place that serves cocktails is not easy. I must add this venue is ALWAYS very welcoming of dogs. My complaint however is that my husband order some guacamole and flat breads to 'put us on'- this portion size needs reviewing. They give far too much guacamole in relation to the amount of bread. When my husband asked for more bread, the waiter said he will 'check' and then came back and said 'you will have to pay for it', which is fine, but it did make us feel a little uncomfortable. Please consider altering the ratio to avoid further embarrassment to customers in the future.

Popped in with some friends for brunch. We were seated quite quickly and the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. We parked in Warrior Square car park a few mins walk away.

Wonderful service from the two young ladies working. Lovely to see water and treats for dogs freely available. Food was good and I really enjoyed the sherbet lemonade as the designated driver.

Although the particular location we visited was in Southend-on-Sea, they are located all over the UK. This group of lounges will definitely be somewhere I seek out from now on, as they are eclectic, reasonable and the food is delicious! We visited them on their Tapas Tuesday, where you get 3 tapas and a glass of wine for £13.75 each! We each ordered 3 (which is what I'd probably recommend) and they had a completely gluten free menu and an amazing selection. After eating gluten for 31 years, I would never have been able to tell the difference! We tried their patatas bravas, honey whipped feta (with toasted gluten free bread), bang bang cauliflower, cheddar and sweetcorn fritters, Korean king prawns and sriracha and honey fried chicken wings. Trust me when I say, the plates could have been licked clean! Each one was amazing and had lots of delicious flavours and spices. And for £27.50 for dinner, it was an absolute bargain. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the atmosphere was lovely and it's definitely somewhere I would head back to regularly. Their entire gluten free menu looked amazing and had an amazing amount of choice of starters, mains and desserts.

Came here for breakfast whilst in the area having enjoyed other branches of the chain. Easy to order and pay for food using the app, also enabling easy customisation of food. Both the Lounge Eggs and Lounge Breakfast were good and reasonably priced. Service was good and a nice relaxed atmosphere first thing in the morning.

Some of our party struggled with QR code ordering and it seemed drinks orders weren't linked to the same table number orders for the food which was a little strange. But food was excellent and arrived very quickly. Would definitely go again

Lovely place to have dinner food and drinks. The prices are fair in general and the food is great, with some vegan and gluten free options. My go to place in the area.

Tapas for the 12.50 deal was not enough to share. 5 prawns between 2 people was odd. Potato bravas was disappointing as they were cubed chips unseasoned with a splodge of sauce from a jar. Ordered off the app and before you pay it asks if you want to add a tip. How can you tip based on a lukewarm reception and no interaction from a staff member taking your order, and no idea if your food will be any good.

Portion sizes a complete joke. Re-microwaved and stale ingredients in portion sizes that seem to get smaller every time we visit. Definitely not worth the money you spend here. You get better deals elsewhere.

Ordered a hot chocolate in the last, which was ok but not chocolatey enough. Went again asked for a little extra chocolate this time but apparently they can’t do it because the till won’t let them, lol. Stop making excuses and just put the extra chocolate in FFS, it’s got nothing to do with the till, lol.

A hidden gem which is great for brunch! Lots of choice for vegan and gluten free. It's dog friendly too which means lots of cute dogs around!

I came here today with my mother. The “supervisor” Jenna was nothing short of rude and unprofessional towards me for no good reason, she made me and my mum feel ridiculed when we had just paid about 60-70£ to eat there. Before today i had a completely different view on molo lounge i really enjoyed it but now i think i’d feel anxious to even to back in as it seems the staff are confrontational and as i said, really unprofessional!

Great food and music, I would say the smash burger I had was the best in Southend! And the chips were amazing too much better than the other burger joints around

I don't like ordering from my phone. Cutlery and table not cleaned properly, but i thought the food was very good. It's a little dark on the lower level, but overall, we had a good time, will go again.

A decent and well situated place to eat. I come here two or three times per month for lunch with a few friends and have never had a bad experience. The food is nice. Not amazing but nice. Perhaps a little overpriced but that's a small gripe. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Visiting for the first time at Molo Lounge today, food was great and very affordable. I went to grab a glass of tap water from the water dispenser however I was put off by the dirty glasses sitting on the side. I was hesitate to walk out and leave just from seeing the dirty glasses on the side. A couple other people went over there and had to ask for a clean glass at the bar. It would have been a five star review if it wasn’t for the dirty tap water glasses.

My fav place to eat. Variety of tasty meals available, chilled out atmosphere. Always great service, food is soooooo good. I always feel comfortable and chilled out :)

Fantastic friendly staff, dog friendly and reasonably priced, good food. I would recommend deserts especially Vegan Passion fruit Semifreddo!

Always have a nice meal here. Always friendly. Sometime a bit slow. Only down side is hot chocolate is never very hot. Even when I've sent it back it still comes back luke warm. Also the nutritional information is only calories. Having a heart condition would be nice to see the Sat Fat content displayed.

The people waiting in front of us walked out eventually, after several staff looked over but made no attempt to seat them! We nearly did too, but someone came over just before we gave up. Food was okay, but several of the things we wanted were off, and it was all quite expensive - especially three pieces of halloumi for 6/7 pounds! Bass from the speaker too loud, so not a pleasant environment to spend time in.

Came with the boyf earlier on today and had a lavly little brunch. Very nice food drinks and staff. Appreciate the concern they have for food allergies as well due to having a severe food allergy! Thanks 😁

As someone who uses Molo Lounge fairly often I can never find fault with the level of excellence that comes from the staff especially the general manager! They cater to everyone’s needs as I normally go with a large group of friends / work colleagues. Always ask without fail about allergens and will do their very best to keep us happy throughout. I will always happily recommend this place as the staff are always helpful and friendly, the food is great too, the vegan menu has lots of options too! Also last point the coffee is always outstanding!!!

Food is only so-so but it is the only game in town really. The service is via online ordering and therefore, misses the human touch. Molo is therefore best for drinks, not a full meal.

Usually okay here but today I ordered an Amwricano and it was really weak. Classic behaviour from coffee shops these days / use less coffee in the hope you’ll order an extra shot! Discussed with server who told me a lot of people say that and yet the refund receipt reads “customer doesn’t like the taste”. Actual reason is “coffee doesn’t have enough coffee in it”. Poor experience usually translates to going somewhere else / watch out Molo Lounges - you can’t rely on atmosphere alone when you give the customer inferior products and they sit there with nothing. Service was also rushed and not at all attentive.

Lovely food , good service . Very clean

The soup was excellent and the burger with avocado had a lot of delicious avocado and crunchy bacon, sweet potato fries for a little more. We will be back for sure.

My family and I recently enjoyed a delightful Mother's Day breakfast at Mood Lounge, and it was an experience worth cherishing. We were drawn to this venue primarily because of its reputation for catering to gluten-free diets and offering a wide array of menu choices, and we have used this chain in Weymouth and Torque. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was as enjoyable as possible. Despite the hustle and bustle Mothers day, they managed to make us feel welcomed & kept all customes happy. As for the food, the gluten-free options did not disappoint. The menu boasted a vast selection, catering to various dietary preferences without compromising on taste or quality. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented, highlighting fresh, flavorful ingredients that left us thoroughly satisfied. Overall, our visit to Mood Lounge was a pleasurable experience. Not only did they deliver on their promise of gluten-free options, but they also provided exceptional service that truly made our Mother's Day celebration memorable. We look forward to returning to Mood Lounge or one of the other branches in the future!

Food is good value and delicious. Perhaps could make soft drinks cheaper? But not bad compared to most places anyway and offers more than anywhere on the high street as a multi-purpose place to meet friends (day/evening, booze/non-alcoholic/coffee, decent food menu)

Tapas Tuesday, hardly any tapas!! Quite slow, staff lovely. The portions were fine, the selection wasn't good, they had run out of most tapas dishes!

Nice resturant with good foid options but the pulled pork was a tad salty.

I ordered an 8oz steak as did my friend, in reality it was more like two ounces. Small portions and dull. My partners garlic flat bread was virtually garlic free and basically, just flat. Very disappointing.

Myself and my wife go to molo a lot because the staff are so friendly, polite, helpful and always a warm welcome. The food in there is top quality and very reasonable prices. It is the only place I get my coffee.

Breakfast was average but not expensive. Biggest complaint is the music choice! At 10:00 am on a Sunday they are playing Wonderwall, Cher, Spice Girls and S-Club 7 🤦‍♂️. Totally ruined the vibe. I felt like I was on a dance floor at 4am on a Benidorm Stag Do and the year is 2001… come on guys you need to change your music for breakfast / brunch big time. Worst vibe for a Sunday morning. Tacky is an understatement.

Absolutely no welcome, unfriendly arrogant and miserable staff. they just ignore you stand around the counter talking to each other. leaving clients standing in a queue for a coffee minimum of 20mins to order. Then you have to wait as they bring it to the table another 20mins wait…only to find the coffee is cold. Tried talking to someone in charge after speaking to her with her attitude we have decided not to return. If I was the owner I would seriously look into you staffing issues mainly your manager In today’s climate I thought your business would want to keep regular clients… you’ve lost our business. We have found Utopia for 12+ people a lovely friendly environment with hot coffee and great food!
