Such a good place to eat! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The prices are reasonable and the cocktails were good with a bonus deal of 2 for £15. I would definitely recommend going here for a dinner out.

A lively atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon bottomless brunch. Enjoyed the food and drinks. My only suggestion would be to use bigger serving plates .. the huge, stacked burgers are not easy to eat and need disassembling unless you have huge jaws 😀

Had the best time with my family, good food and service

Racist actually disgusting anyone would think it's the 1960s in mississipi. Turned up ordered another 8 tables after we ordered all had there food before us waited ab hr and a half. We are a mixed couple even when we got up yo pay the chef was giving disgusting looks to my partner. We didn't even to get to sit down and actually have a meal which I'd the saddest part as being a young family we rarely have time to ourselves after kids so needless to say we was extremely up and disappointed 😞 would never go there again!!!!!

We have been here a few times. The food was really nice as always, but too much dressing in one of the salads which made it inedible, other than that the food and drinks were great. Waitress was pleasant but the only server working so service was slow. This didn’t cause an issue for us but if you were after a quick meal this would not be the place. The barman was quite rude to the kitchen staff for all to hear but other than that it was an enjoyable evening.

Reasonably prized yummy comfort food. But the real seller is the staff. Friendly,helpful ,accommodating of both my diet and neurodivergencies, I’ve been twice this month ,jacky and fran were particularly great,but all staff were lovely x ps jacky made the best strawberry mojito ever

Went here for a birthday. It's our 2nd visit and both times have been absolutely perfect in every aspect. Food is gorgeous, really good quality and loads of flavour. I'd recommend the loaded fries, burgers and the beef rib. The batter on the pickles and onion rings is so nice. Both times we've had really lovely staff, could not fault them in any way. Price is good considering the quality. And they do deals also. I'd thoroughly recommend going here, whether it's a random visit or a celebration. Well always return here!

“This is my idea of a very nice day out!” Food was banging I had had a bargain basket and it was great value! Whitney over the speakers and we were bopping in our seats great atmosphere! Our service from Fran was fantastic!! She was the cherry on top!

I just wanted to say that this is such a brilliant place to eat food such as a burger, etc... The price of the food on the menu is really reasonable and everything about the food is really nice. I would totally recommend Gerrards to anyone who wants to stop and have a lovely meal with excellent service. Totally recommend!!!

Perfect family friendly restaurant. It was my son's 8th birthday and as he loves a burger he chose Garrards for his birthday meal. He decided he could manage an adult sized burger and chips and he finished every last bit and was very happy (and stuffed!!) We love it here, every time we visit the staff are friendly, helpful, professional and make us feel very welcome. There is loads of choice on the menu and everything is delicious! We think they are the best burgers around and will be back again soon.

Just had a great bbq burger with rosemary fries and onion rings. Excellent food and service. The choice of real ale could have been better. My daughter and I will be back.

We ordered 2 chicken burgers which were not nice to eat very dry and tough I ordered a kids meal for my daughter with 2 sides and was charged £7.50 for some unpleasant chicken, which they didn't eat and £9 for some chips so in total was charged £16 for a kids meal. which they didn't even eat as it was quote on quote yukky. The service was good but that unfortunately was the only positive I have. Unfortunately, my partners 30th birthday lunch was not enjoyable.

Classic BBQ restaurant for meat lovers. Never had a bad meal as all meat is done to perfection every time. Great value as well with giant portions - especially if you take advantage of the daily deals! Great service from the friendly, fun and helpful staff. Highly recommend if BBQ is your thing.

Stopped in for a couple of drinks one weekday afternoon. It was understandably very quiet, but Jack was absolutely splendid behind the bar, happily telling me about the restaurant and making recommendations. Would definitely go back, and will update a food rating when I have eaten.

Was really excited for Lobster Sunday and wow what a treat it definitely did’nt dissapoint. Surf & turf was delicious cooked to perfection,Lobster roll and burgers by fair one of the best we have had. Lobster dirty fries a first for us but definitely not the last. 3rd visit....dissapointed. Restaurant completely empty...had to pay a deposit to book...45 mins for food to arrive. Children's food ice cold...won't go again. Responce below to booking, doesn't cover children's food staying on the pass for 30 mins and arriving cold Oh and like most restaurants destined to fail. Same menu for the past 3 years

Went for lunch here today and it was absolutely gorgeous! We had alot of food, and genuinly was the best beef ribs I've ever had. Really decent portions, perfectly cooked and amazing staff. Really nice and chatty. Also a massive shout out to the lovely waitor who made a perfect pina colada! Loved our meal and had a great lunch out, so I'd highly recommend Gerrards!

Garrards never disappoints - our favourite place for a relaxed family meal with kids and grandparents. Staff are always super friendly and attentive, food delicious and good value for money - especially 2 for 1 cocktails :-) Lovely waitress Erin tonight, well done Dan and team. See you again soon!

For a restaurant that is just off of the main road, it has a good vibe, it’s quiet and it’s chilled. The food and drink are good, both in choice and in quality even if the servings are a little smaller. But for the 4 of us it was topping over £150 which to me seems steep for a lunch out with friends. I also feel the choices could have been better for vegans and veggies and there was maybe to much choice otherwise, but I left feel happy over all if not light in the wallet.

We had yet another lovely meal at Garrards, especially the mix of blue cheese and Buffalo sauce on the burger. It was very tasty! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all great. We will be back! Well worth visiting and is highly recommended.

Went early lunch time so was relatively quiet, the staff were very welcoming, food came quickly and was delicious and the deals on different days makes it so I'll be returning soon!

Went for steak and ribs night. Food was excellent but service was quite slow and only three tables occupied so not much atmosphere. Please support this restaurant as the food is superb

Restaurant was freezing. Cold air blowing on us from air con. Sat in our coats the whole time !. Even waitress was cold. Prawn tempura starter was very greasy and batter was soft. Grilled Chicken burger - chicken was so dry and the bottom of it was hard. Rosemary chips didnt have any rosemary on them. One thing I will say is the portions are large. And whilst service was slow, the staff were very nice.

When you have to ask the staff to serve you, you know you’re not getting a restaurant service! There were only 4 tables taken in the whole restaurant and we had to ask staff to serve us. We had to go up and ask staff to take a drinks order 15 mins after arriving (the staff were standing doing nothing 2ft away). Had to go up to the bar (where the staff we sitting) to ask for our food order to be taken. Ordered the same round of drinks twice… didn’t get them, despite no other drink orders in the whole restaurant… asked them again and got 4 of the same drink which wasn’t the order. Never once asked if the food was ok, didn’t clear the plates and we asked for the bill 3 times… after asking the 3rd time I was told “he was working it out”???!! Only thing that needs working out is employing staff that can do the job, chef is amazing.. front of house staff don’t have a clue how to do basic hospitality. They did nothing all night and ignored all customers. I work in this industry and if they were my staff, they wouldn’t be for much longer, I’ve got a whole new level of appreciation for my staff. Aside that, chef was AMAZING, we had a wide range of food and every single item was delicious them

Visited on Sunday with a friend for boozy brunch, the cocktails were amazing, best amaretto sour I have had in such a long time, lovely service, and the food was fantastic. Will definitely be returning to work my way through the rest of the food menu. Highly recommended.

I have been to Garrards many times and always love it. Today was the first time I had brunch. The cocktails remain the best I have had in leigh/southend area and the food was absolutely delicious! I had a chicken burger with my usual 'dirty fries' which are next level. Service was also excellent and we didn't have to wait long for anything. It's always a vibe at Garrards and I'd recommend to anyone!

Return visit to Garrards so that my friend could try it for the first time and the food delivered!! The beef brisket dirty fries were spot on, the beef short rib was immense and the burger was well stacked and customised to my friend's taste. Definitely coming back again for Mac next time!

I love Garrards roast dinners, really is great so worth visiting for that. But a group of 11 of us went for brunch which was for two hours and ranges from £45-£55 depending on whether you have Prosecco, beer or cocktails. The food is two small burger sliders and chips…that’s it. No mac and cheese or chicken sliders as sides. Burgers are literally just beef and cheese in a bun. Burgers did taste nice, but the portion was far too small for the price. Bottomless is all well and good if there are sufficient staff to supply on a bottomless basis. There was one barman doing drinks, which for a table of 11, plus other diners means that drinks were slow so you couldn’t properly take advantage of the bottomless elements of things. Our bill came to £650! For what we had, it wasn’t worth the money. Leigh as a whole is becoming far too pricey and in some places, exceeds London prices for a fraction of the quality, and sadly this brunch was an example of that.

The food is very yummy the Mac and cheese balls starters were absolutely delicious. Cutlery was very clean and the waitress serving us was great!!! We came in for my brothers birthday and he left very happy 🩷

Visited with friends on a Saturday night, the first time any of us had been. The service from the girls was excellent, they are friendly and attentive. The food is incredible, every single dish and side was yummy with generous sized portions. My only criticism and the reason I can't give 5 stars is, the volume of the music is horrendous. We struggled to talk across the table in our group and even when we mentioned it to the waitress she confirmed she struggled with the volume as she couldn't lip read. Guys.... you're a restaurant, not a nightclub, for the love of good food, please just turn it down!!

2 adults and 2 children - restaurant empty on arrival at 5.00pm (had booked online). Seated, ordered drinks and food - served by a disinterested, dishevelled looking waiter. Drinks came promptly but as restaurant was empty not too difficult to manage. 45 minutes later we asked the whereabouts of the food - no real answer just a sort of murmur - we thought of leaving at this point but the children were hungry and in the event food came out about 5 mins later. Children’s meals were ok. Both adults had a fried chicken burger meal - one was so dry it was like trying to cut into a brick, the dessert spoon of pulled pork was all right. The other person was so hungry at this point they ploughed on with their not quite so dried out, tough chicken - a bit less well done than the brick! No one came to check if food ok or to clear the table and ask if we wanted dessert, more drinks, coffee. We asked for the bill from the waitress who was just starting her shift - mentioning the brick like chicken as she (partially) cleared the table after about 30 mins of sitting amongst the debris. She advised we should have sent the food back and she was correct but after waiting almost an hour to get it (and not having another 45 mins to spare) I chose to pick around the rest of the meal. Rosemary Fries ok (though not much flavour oddly). Bill arrived quickly but no one came back to take payment so I went to the desk and paid. Bill total about £79 and a £7-odd service charge. The 10% service charge should have been deducted at the very least - as other than putting the plates down on the table no other service provided. And, even though the food should rightly have been sent back, an apology for the very poor quality of the food with some sort of explanation should have been forthcoming. Needless to say we won’t be going back in a hurry.

Just popped in for a quick bite with my son. Never been here before but will definitely be back. Friendly staff and the food was top notch. Portions were on the large size that’s a good thing and everything tasted fresh and presented in a nice way 5 stars. Highly recommend

Made a last minute booking yesterday Friday night, very welcoming and friendly staff, food was excellent one of the best burgers I have had, chips great as well lovely and hot. Strolling through Leigh on Friday night thought we'd give Garrards a try, so glad we did, it did not disappoint. The service was excellent, probably some of the best service in a restaurant I've had for a while. The food was superb and the espresso martinis were to die for, (the cocktail deal is partly what enticed us in). Will definitely be returning and have been telling everyone how good it was.

Visited for the first time on Friday, doing the Elephant trail around Leigh and was looking for somewhere to eat, the cocktail deal enticed me and my friend in. Have to say it didn't disappoint. The service was superb, from the minute we set foot inside everyone was friendly and really helpful. The espresso martinis were so good. The burgers were amazing, couldn't fault anything, have been singing their praises every since and will definitely be back for a return visit.
