Great retro cafe fantastic staff ever so friendly and the food is great value worth a visit when in Driffield

Popped in on our way to the coast whilst looking for a nice sandwich. Fabulous greeting and great service. Loved the china crockery, flowered tablecloths and decor. The hand embroidered napkins took me back to days spent with my Grannie. Cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was divine and the cute pot for the chutney added to the overall charm. An absolute gem and so glad we visited.

The most wonderful service, the friendliest staff, the most delicious tea and cake. Molly and Jean's is mine and my daughters special place

We don't know Driffield at all but stumbled upon this super café. We just loved 1940's ambiance - such attention to detail with the music, china & furnishings. We only had time for tea & a toasted teacake but we will return. If you get the chance I'd encourage you to visit Molly & Jean café 😊

Always a pleasure and a treat to visit Molly & Jean’s. The food is amazing and the staff always make you feel welcome and that nothing is too much trouble. Wish I lived nearer and could visit more often although my waistline would disagree. Can’t wait to come again

What a hidden gem, with an olde world ambiance. Impeccable service and such attention to detail. We arrived just before mid-day or ‘on the cusp’ as Simon our attendant jovially put it - so we had a choice of either the breakfast menu or the lunch menu. Our food was fresh, tasty and good value. Thank you Molly and Jean our lunchtime experience was over and above our expectations …. In the words of Arnie ‘We’ll be back’

Wow! What a phenomenal night; atmosphere and food. A 4 course meal and at remarkable price. The pictures of the food says it all and the plates were empty at the end of each meal. I’m not a pudding person but the smell of sweet home cooked food is divine. The detail of care towards each person and family is personalised and this is a credit to the hosts at Molly and Jean. A place to visit in Driffield. It’s worth the journey!

Tried the Bakewell cake which was yummy. Tried the victoria sponge which was equally yummy. Tried the chocolate cake and it was devine. I've not had chocolate cake like that for years, as good as my mum's.

I'm a regular at Molly & Jean, but this was the first full meal I've eaten there. What can I say? Wow! Just Wow! Five courses, each as delicious as the next, served by friendly staff in beautiful surroundings. What a way to start Christmas! No more slots for Christmas lunch this year I believe, but their cakes and sandwiches are equally delicious.

Such a lovely little place with warm welcoming staff I was only in for about 5 minutes to grab a drink and use the facilities but can't wait to come back for a proper visit. Thank you Molly & Jean you made a big impression in a short space of time!

Since Molly & Jeans opened myself and family have loved going. The milkshakes have always been my daughters favourite. It is a wonderful atmosphere here with nostalgia! The music, memorabilia, china and gorgeous napkins! You really feel like you have stepped back in time. Simon and his wonderful team are on hand to serve up wonderful food with changing specials board. If you want a treat! Just go! You wont be disappointed

Right from stepping through the door of this delightful cafe the atmosphere hits you. Such wonderful friendly staff. The decor is gorgeous and the food delicious. Beautiful teapots go along side mismatched china cups and saucers. The tea flowed throughout our lunch. Fantastic little find. Well done xx

Our visit to Molly & Jeans tearoom was perfect from start to finish! Unexpectedly came across this hidden gem while visiting in Driffield and we wanted to grab a spot of lunch while out. We received an extremely warm welcome from the gentleman who works in the front of house. This little cafe is a lovely, warm, chic and vintage feel with superb food/drinks that are made with fresh ingredients and in house daily. They have a daily homemade soup, today this was potato and leak which was heavenly! There is a small bathroom upstairs and although the stairs are rather steep and narrow, the bathroom is clean with cute touches such as flannels to dry your hands following washing. There is also aftershave and hand lotion in it! The service, food, desserts and drinks were second to none! My partner and I both highly rated our sandwiches/paninis and the portions were very generous. We cannot wait to visit again soon when next in Driffield.

What an amazing experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful. My wife struggle's to walk and uses a rollator to get around. Nothing was too much trouble for the ladies here. Good old fashioned charm and manners. Absolutely amazing. We had a pot of tea and a light lunch. Really enjoyed it. All freshly made food. Proper loose leaf tea. All reasonably priced. We will visit again. Highly recommended.

What a wonderfull place. By far the best for miles around,in towmn house hunting in need of tea and toast this place provided far more. Will use agin and again. A cafe that serves real tea in a teapot and the staff are just great.

This is an lovely quirky coffee shop. The atmosphere was great and staff were really friendly. I had vegetable soup and a sandwich. It was really tasty, especially the soup. Also loved the loose leaf tea. Will definitely be back!

My friends and I had a delicious afternoon tea at Molly and Jean’s yesterday to celebrate my 50th. We couldn’t fault it. The staff were so attentive, everything was homemade and 2 of my friends were gifted things to take home after complimenting them :loose leaf tea and bacon&egg; pie. We all got a box to take home what we couldn’t eat as well. Looking forward to going back again soon! Recommend it to anyone.

We popped in here today for coffee and we were greeted warmly . We chose flat whites, a scone and coffee and walnut cake . The coffee was excellent and both our cakes were fresh and delicious . I liked the attention to detail - vintage china cake forks, vintage linen napkins . Well worth supporting this independent tea/ coffee house . All served with a smile .

We visit Molly and Jean every time we are in Driffield. We love the vintage styling and the attention to detail. The service is always excellent, my 7 year old daughter loves the milkshakes (so do I!!). A great range of cakes - with tasty gluten free options too.

We found Molly & Jean when looking for somewhere for lunch.

This is a nice old style cafe, brother in law had a pot of tea made with tea leaves not tea bags and said it was very nice, one of my sisters had a mocha but she said it was a bit strong for her taste, my other sister had a milk shake with ice cream in and she loved it and I had the Coffee lovers cream tea, I got a fruit scone with a glass jar of jam and a dish of cream and a lovely strong cup of coffee.

This gorgeous cafe is the only place we will eat at when visiting Driffield. Beautiful, quaint and vintage throughout. Plenty of choice on the sandwich menu and specials, real green leaf tea, friendly staff and spotlessly clean with so many cute finishing touches, I cannot even begin to list them! I had a toasted sandwich which came with salad, crisps and homemade coleslaw while my partner had a ploughmans platter from the specials board...both spot on! However, the afternoon tea on the next table looked amazing so we will definitely be indulging in that on our next visit! Thank you Simon and your lovely team for looking after us.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, tasty bacon sandwich and a ‘proper coffee’ - very reasonably priced for the quality of food, service and ambience.

Thought I would treat my husband to a coffee as he has never been in here before. Love the atmosphere and the music which can be heard outside. Only small place but got a table immediately. While waiting for my husband to arrive I also ordered bacon sandwiches. Giggled a bit when it came out. Two slices of white bread with a bit of bacon. £4.99 each. Bread was very fresh and tasted ok. Don’t know what else to say £15 for 2 coffees and 2 bacon sandwiches. My husband was not impressed.

I stopped here while cycling in the area. I enjoyed their coffee and scones were very good. They actually have quite a lot of intriguing options. A creme brulee latte? Wow!

Dropped into Molly & Jeans for a spot of lunch on an impromptu shopping trip to Driffield and we were very glad we did.

We went to this cafe a few weeks ago. We felt rushed as the server seemed to be telling people that our table would be soon free as we were only drinking coffees. I had heard many good recommendations about this place but feel it is not the type of place to go if you want a natter and catch up with friends.

A perfect little hidden gem. Easily missed on the Main Street of Driffield but worth finding. Beautiful home made cakes etc. I recommend the afternoon tea.

Excellent little tea room on the main street in Driffield. Lovely smiling service - perfect pot of tea with real leaves and the offer of extra hot water - combine this with first class baking and you're on to a winner for sure - don't bother with the chain coffee shops - have a proper brew here at Molly and Jeans.

Called in with my family for a coffee post shopping. Wonderful cakes, especially the brownie. My daughter LOVED the rainbow cake! Service was fab even though this is a busy place. The waiter was great with my daughter she got things to colour in and a vintage Beano to read. She already wants to go again. We are certainly going to go again and next time try the sandwiches, which looked amazing.

Called here for lunch with a friend following a recommendation. We were quickly shown to a table and given menus. The choice of food was good. My friend chose one of the specials-Beef stew and dumplings. The fluffy dumplings and veg were served on a plate and the stew served in an enamel mug. The meal was delicious and the way it was served on keeping with the cafe’s theme was great. My sandwich was good.

We visited Molly & Jeans tea rooms in Driffield to celebrate our friends special birthday. We loved the 1940’s vintage style of the tea rooms and were made to feel very special by the chef patron - redesplendent in pinstripe trousers and braces !

Having read some reviews I have to defend this wonderful place. I visited with my daughter and grandson. What a welcome we received , we were asked to fold the pushchair as we could see it is clearly not possible to accommodate push chairs so we folded it and left it with the staff member. We were asked if we required a booster seat and this was quickly placed at the table, colouring sheets and a book were given to my grandson the man who served us was lovely with him. He even hung our coats. We had a lovely lunch, I had the chicken stew and daughter a toastie which came with lovey salad and homemade coleslaw. The other ladies working there were friendly and lovely all dressed in vintage dresses. We will certainly be back.

Visied here yesterday with my daughter for a coffee and light bite. Politely asked for a table for 2 and was shown to a table for 6 by the gentleman, he gave us the menus and informed us of the daily specials . After looking at the menu I enquired if he served poached egg on toast as we didn’t want a large meal, the gentleman said in a loud voice did I tell you the specials, or anything on the menu as we do not serve poached egg on toast , if we wanted that he suggested we go to Inspirations or the Secret Garden. We decided to go to one of the other cafes and as we left he loudly said I’m sorry my food isn’t good enough for you ladies. I appreciate egg on toast is not on the menu , how difficult is that to make,?? This’ll isthe second time we have been shouted at but it will be the last!,

Me and my husband visited your cafe in the morning the flat whites were good. Dissapointed with small teacake for the price and the cheese scone was definately not made fresh on the day, had been microwaved and then toasted but was still soggy. Teacake and cheese scone should have been brought out together.

Love this little cafe but think I timed it wrong, was lunch time. As it’s only small, people were waiting for a table. Felt a bit rushed. Food was ok,nothing out of the ordinary. When asked if we wanted another drink which we didn’t, the bill arrived, obviously they wanted the table so can see thier point of view. But not a place you can take your time and chat.

What a fabulous place this is! It really is one of the nicest tea rooms we have ever been in. The decor is great and the staff look brilliant. Such a welcoming place with a lovely friendly atmosphere and the food is delicious and all home made! It’s become quite a popular place and it’s easy to see why. I think there are about 18 covers so it’s quite a small establishment but this totally adds to the quaintness. You may need to wait a few minutes at busy periods for a table which isn’t surprising but the staff and the owner are so accommodating and entertaining the time flies by! Please wait you really will be so glad you did and I’m sure it will become a regular destination like it has for our family and so many others we know. Easy 5 stars!!!

Have used cafe previously when out with my mum, this time I was with my mum & dad and my 2 year old daughter. The man launched at us as we walked in saying no room for buggy and can I fold it, I said I would do it at the table. He refused to let me take it to the table and said I must leave it by the door, I told him it had shopping and daughters things in so I would like to keep it with me but he refused us, he said they don’t have enough room. I could see there was plenty of room and he was very rude and intimidating. We told him we would find somewhere else child friendly, my parents and I were so shocked the way he spoke to us, he may not realise but he has lost more than just our custom with his attitude and actions, many lovely places to have coffee in Driffield with friendly staff that welcome families.... shame on him... if he speaks to people like this regularly he won’t be building a great customer base... and looking at the reviews I’m not the only one to spoken down to. Avoid this cafe if you’d like a relaxed coffee with a friendly atmosphere.

What a lovely little place. I've always loved little vintage places - especially ones with the 1930's/1940's theme!

Me and my brother stumbled upon this cafe whilst doing the coast to coast cycle ride. We had 20 miles to go and were soaking wet from a day of rain but received the warmest welcome despite dripping on the floor in the doorway.

I had a lovely afternoon tea with my mum. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious. The staff were very warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will deffinatly be back and highly recommend.

Looking for somewhere to eat on an unplanned stop in Driffield we came across this lovely tearoom. Loved the retro style, the decor, music, the way the staff were dressed, all made it just that bit different. It seemed very popular and we had to wait for a table but only for 10mins, which wasn’t a problem.

As newcomer to Driffield we were pleasantly suprised to come across Molly & Jean. Attentive service with a very friendly atmosphere left in time...40s theme. Good coffee and the kids were entertained with period colouring in books whilst enjoying a great milkshake. Definitely going again.

The pretty dresses worn by the charming waitresses take me back to my youth. No rationing here though. We each had a salad lunch, mine of the Waldorf variety, my companion thick smoked salmon and prawn. Beautifully fresh and tasty and served with bread and butter on ill matching crockery, most attractive. I enjoyed a delicious home made lemonade, my companion leaf tea strained through a sixties tea strainer (have one myself!) Nostalgia on a plate.

We love coming here when in Driffield. I face we never go anywhere else since we discovered this quaint little establishment over a year ago. The food is fabulous. The staff are amazing. The real tea is superb. The cakes to die for. Everything is locally sourced and homemade which is perfect.

Passing through Driffield, decided to stop for a cuppa. Managed to park just outside this cafe and noticed 40 mins free parking. Well down Council, you’re encouraging people to stop and spend in your local businesses.

I visited with work colleagues in our lunch break for tea and cake. There was a wide selection of fresh cakes that all sounded amazing! They brew proper tea, the service is brilliant and the atmosphere is great. I will definitely be returning.

When I went with my 5 year old grand-daughter we had a totally lovely experience. She told me it is her favourite cafe. She likes the pretty dresses. Also the food and friendly staff.

Wow Wow Wow. Just what Driffield needs. My little girl and I love coming here for afternoon tea. At 5 years old she loves the interaction with the wonderful staff. We are always made to feel welcome. The tearoom is decorated beautifully. The attention to detail is second to non. Proper tea served in a pot with china cups and saucers, everything is homemade and freshly baked daily. We can never finish everything as the portions are so generous.

What a superb night, the themed venue was very atmospheric, war time food was delicious. Starting with Gin & Tonic in a teapot - followed by Dripping sandwiches, pork scratchings and pickled eggs. Followed by steak and potato pie and peas, followed by Gin & Tonic Trifle. The staff and all its lock in customers were in fancy dress which added to the experience. Thank you for a fantastic night - we loved it. Can’t wait for the next one

Now, I have been to many places for afternoon tea and I can honestly say Molly & Jean’s is an absolute treat. You woukd expect a small tea room to just to have a basic tea and cake philosophy

I popped in here on a Saturday morning... The place was full, but a table soon became available for me and I was soon selecting a latte, accompanied with a slice of delicious cake, on this occasion a pear and almond frangipan which was still slightly warm. Delicious and a bit of treat! Friendly staff and welcoming. Worth a visit if you are in the area!
