My rating for it is weak, as the place and reception were not good The food is good, and when asked about the meat if it is halal, he said it is halal, but with uncomfortable hesitation!

The hosts were kind and the meal was amazing! Had wonderful flavors. The ice cream was dreamy and the tea was the cherry on top to complete our meals. It was a great experience.

My family and I had such a delicious and lovely experience at Mohsen Restaurant. The service was very friendly, the food was flavorful and delicious, and we had a private experience in the large dining room. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is my favorite spot in London if you are craving Persian food. Me and my family usually enjoy our cozy dinner here every time we visit the city. Not to mention their warm welcoming owners who are really welcoming 👌 You MUST give it a try 100/10 ✨

The chef recommended a combination that was not immediately obvious, and it was delicious. It was our first pomegranate curry. And to top it all off, they make Naan bread I'm front of the dining area. Doesn't get better.

This is my favourite Persian food in london and that’s not easy to say as london has incredible Persian restaurants. The food is authentic, good quality produce with a home cooked taste. The grilled meats are the best I can find and the rice is perfect. The koresh is always fresh and to die for whether you order the ghormeh sabzi or the ghymeh. No skimping on the use of saffron, the dishes are full of flavour. The hardest part is always trying to decide if to eat kebob or koresh (the stews)! The service is always friendly and make you feel at home. Love the place, the food and the people!

A truly excellent Persian restaurant in London with warm and personal service. The traditional Kabab koobideh is beautifully cooked and has the juiciest chicken Joojeh Kabob using the best ingredients. Though you have to finish off with the best homemade faloodeh persian dessert I’ve tasted in the UK. Definitely a great place to go for a date night, with a group of friends or with the family!

The food is delicious, the service impeccable. It’s family-style, generous cuisine that reflects the family that runs this establishment. We will come back with pleasure.

As someone from Texas, I had never really tried Persian food. I can honestly say that this food was fantastic. From the moment you walk in the door and see naan being made fresh right in front of you, to the absolute kindness of the staff, this is a must stop and eat type of place. I had to try the naan which was perfectly paired by the hummus. For the main dish, I was helped out by a few suggestions and ended up going with the #25 which was lamb 2 ways and absolutely delicious rice. I couldn’t have stumbled on a better place if I tried. If you’re ever in London, swing by and have some amazing food. Sorry that I tore into that food before I remembered to take the pic.

Disappointing Experience with Service and Food Quality I’ve written this review with the intention of being objective and fair, focusing on my experience without letting personal biases influence my assessment. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with beautiful Persian paintings, but my table had a sticky residue from the last service, which was disappointing. The restroom was clean when I checked it, but there was no toilet paper. This suggests the staff didn’t regularly check the facilities, especially as I arrived at 13:00. I ordered Kashk-o-Bademjoon with fresh bread as a starter and Ghormeh Sabzi as the main course. The starter lacked the expected nutty flavor—there wasn’t a hint of walnut. It came in a tiny dish, similar to low-end restaurants , without a proper plate. While the bread was hot and fresh, there wasn't enough of it to finish the dish. The Ghormeh Sabzi was undercooked, and the large kidney beans weren’t to my taste. It had a sour flavor due to excessive dried lemon, which some might like, but I didn't. There were only three pieces of mutton instead of lamb, and overall, it reminded me of canned Ghormeh Sabzi found in Persian stores around London. To top it off, I found a strand of hair in my food, which stopped me from eating further. A hair strand in a dish is a clear example of physical contamination and is a serious fault on the restaurant's part. This should obligate the management to ensure that kitchen staff wear proper hairnets, beard nets, sleeves, and aprons. When I reported this to the waiter, he didn’t involve the manager, demonstrating a lack of professionalism. I also ordered tahdig as a side dish. I overheard the manager discussing it with the chef, but later, the staff informed me that the tahdig wasn’t properly cooked and they had run out of it. However, I overheard the manager taking orders for tahdig at another table, which was absolutly frustrating. The staff were friendly and engaging but need more training. Despite these issues, they still charged me £3.62 for service, which felt unreasonable. There was also a difference between the online and in-restaurant menu prices. For example, Ghormeh Sabzi was listed as £15.50 online but was £17.90 in the restaurant. Kashk-o-Bademjoon was £7.50 online but £7.90 in the restaurant. Only the naan price matched. This suggests the owner increased prices but didn’t update the online menu, perhaps to compete with other Persian restaurants. Overall, my experience wasn’t great, and I hope these comments help them review their management. I’m not sure if I’d give them another chance.

Junto con el dip de elección (y hay una amplia selección) es un delicioso aperitivo. Tenía filetes de cordero y kebabs de cordero. El cordero es notoriamente difícil de cocinar bien, ya que es fácil de cocinar por debajo o por encima, pero el chef lo clavó aquí. Literalmente se derritió en mi boca. Este es un restaurante familiar que han operado dentro de la familia durante más de 30 años. Y muestra a través de los estándares extremadamente altos que se aferran, la hermosa comida y el ambiente que crean. En serio, haz un viaje aquí. No te arrepentirás.

Our first nigth in London. We had a nice dinner at a beautiful, family-owned restaurant. The food was realy tasty. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the nice and friendly staff. I will recommend the restaurant and I will definitely com back again. 5 Stars to Mohsen.

I went Monday for the first time. Came back Thursday. I've had my fair share of farsi fare here and there and let me tell ya, these persian cats know what they're doing. The koobideh grills the fesenjan stews the kashk bademjan the googh the high end japanese teapots - they do if all. Forget that soho hypetrain-booked-until-2027 joint, whatever its called. This is the rubayat for your palate, the rumi in yo tummy. So try it out. Why can't you, when beshkan?

Good tasting natural Persian food which is medium priced. Great fresh bread from the oven. They refuse to allow you tap water (the only restaurant I have ever come across that doesn't) as you "have to" buy their bottled water.

Possibly the worst restaurant I've eaten in London! I ordered kabideh kebab and okra with rice, bread and salad The kebab was half burnt and not good and had no flavour The bread is dry and not good Okra also has a strong saffron flavour When we contacted the restaurant manager, he was not helpful or welcoming. Moreover, he forced us to pay the service fee and said it verbatim: If you don’t like the restaurant, go to another restaurant. This is our system!

On holiday, living in the Kensington area, we were looking for a nice and authentic place with Persian cuisine. And we came across this very welcoming and decorous restaurant. The salad lady is very kind and full of useful advice for making the best choices. The place has more than 30 years of activity behind it and it shows. The humus and the Naan made hot before your eyes were a sublime tasting discovery, but also the good but very good chicken skewer, like the lamb one which has a good light flavour, with grilled tomatoes, then enriched with a good dish of rice and saffron and a light veil of paprika. We ate our fill and enjoyed everything with great gusto for around 58 pounds. Highly recommended for tasting the flavors of ancient Persia

I was staying at Marriot hotel nearby and I walked by this restaurant with the excellent aroma of the Fresh baked Naan in Tandor. The owner and his son were very friendly and they took care of me with excellent hospitality The food was fresh fast and delicious. The service was excellent atmosphere was great. Mohsen restaurant is my first Choice Persian restaurant when I visit London. Family-run restaurant which serves variety of tasty authentic Persian cuisine. We have ordered for appetizer mast o khiar, Shirazi salad and kashk o bademjan. For the main course we ordered Momtaz and koobideh while for dessert we ordered faloodeh and bastani. Their food and service are exceptionally good. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend it 👍🏼👍🏼

We found this restaurant in London through Google ratings while visiting Design Museum - a 10 min walk from this place. The food exceeded our expectations, we had the hummus - the best we have had yet with sumak sprinkled on top and freshly baked bread, green salad which was refreshing. For our mains we had Momtaz- Chicken Tikka skewer and mince lamb kebab with rice which was heavenly. Our second main was Zeresk Polo Ba Murg - chucky curry with sweet rice topped with Barberries.. Chicken was cooked so well, that the meat fell off the bone while picking it.. We ended with their tea which was refreshing and we purchased a box to take home. The establishment is run by a family for the last 32 years and the owner was very polite and took good care of us. Wish them the best always and will visit when we return to London again.

I must admit that I was surprised by both the quality of the dishes (we ate eggplants, lamb and bass fish), as well as the kindness and warm atmosphere of the owners and staff. If I'm ever in London again, I'll definitely come back! I highly recommend this place - modest in decor, but rich in excellent cuisine and a friendly atmosphere

I’ve been coming to this lovely family owned Persian restaurant for over 10 years now. The consistency and quality of the dishes never fail. I always take the boneless chicken with saffron rice and that one dish is usually quite enough anyway. Add some houmous and bread and you will be truly full. Their bread made in the clay oven is super traditional and delicious. Paid 32£ with service charge. Staff were friendly and professional. However, refusing to give tap water was a low blow. I didn’t want to make a scene but a reminder it’s the law to give someone tap water if they ask for some. I cannot compare this restaurant to other Persian restaurants in the neighborhood but I know this one is good enough for me not to try other ones out.

Found this spot by chance, googling close to our accommodation. Now I rated the food at 4, but really was 4.5 stars. This was because of one dish, basically I got chicken and salad, see photo. Now this is probably because of a traditional style of dish. It needed something more to me. The other fish had wonderful favours. For entree we had humus and bread, with the bread being freshly made and cooked at the entrance. All we can say for the hummus and bread is yummmm. They have run this business for thirty years and their passion shows through. From the first warm welcome to the last goodbye they made us feel really welcome. Great advice on what to eat. Highly recommended.

I have eaten Persian food all over the world, but Mohsen's restaurant takes Persian cuisine to a higher level altogether. Each dish that we tried tasted delicious and as if made with the utmost care. The ice cream was perhaps the most unique flavour I have ever tasted. The staff and the owners are people of highly refined tastes, elegance and culture. It was a pleasure interacting with all of them while enjoying the best Iranian food I have ever had. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone as it possesses one of the best chefs available in London.

I love everything in Mohsen I've known it since 20 years ago and we always come back and they have the friendliest staff and the tastiest Persian food.

The restaurant is down the street from our hotel and we chose to have dinner here for convenience. But, it became one of our favorite meals from our trip. The food and service were excellent. The Naan is made fresh in an authentic oven. We highly recommend!

I've been a customer since 2019, but during my last visit, I was disappointed. I asked for tap water, and the man I believe to be the owner refused to serve it, insisting that I buy bottled water instead. When I mentioned that it's illegal not to serve tap water in the UK, he simply smiled and acknowledged he knew. Although I could have bought the bottled water, I thought about someone coming to the restaurant thirsty and being denied free tap water by this greedy owner. His smiling while knowingly breaking the law was unbelievable. I couldn't justify spending my money at such a place, so I cancelled my order and left the restaurant.

The food is delicious. The order is for two people. The quantity satisfies 3 people. Just note that the bread was cold because they brought it before eating. Make sure you ask them to bring it with the food, and the tea is necessary to order. Highly recommended 👌

My friend invited me there for dinner. We ordered one mix grill, two starters, one bottle of water, two teas, and two desserts. He was charged 160 pounds. Unbelievable and outrageous! I saw the total but not the breakdown. I asked my friend why he didn’t challenge him. As he was the host, he didn’t want me to worry about the price. Moreover, with the exception of the lamb chops, the rest of the kebabs were horrible. The koobideh and chicken were uncooked and smelled badly. I don’t know where the positive comments come from. Maybe there were different owner and chef.

The food is excellent. Family business and they are nice. But the prices have crept up quite steeply over the years. From £13 to now £23 for their main popular dish, momtaz. Won't be able to frequent it as much as I'd like to, solely due the pricing. Everything else is great.

I've had the minced lamb and sea bass before. The sea bass is very good, but the minced lamb was one of the best meals I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food is good but the attitude is terrible. The lady owner wants to decide for you what you want to eat ..... and obviously she picks for you the most expensive dish in the menu. She went as far as saying that for her it was not worthwhile to serve so little food for a table of 10 people. Very very distasteful. I will not go back. It is a pity because the food is genuinely good.

Fantastic food and attentive service. The Mirza Ghasemi was delicious, the grills tender and tasty. I know prices in general have gone up but this was still very good value. I would go back just for the tea! Thank you.
