Mohsen in Kensington and Chelsea

After a weekend spent with vegetarian friends, this place it turned out to be a doubly pleasant surprise! We especially enjoyed the meat dishes!! The meat was tender, juicy, and full of refined flavors, well-balanced without being overwhelming. The portions are generous, and the bread/flatbread is an experience in itself, watching it being made and cooked right in front of you feels like a little event of its own.

Brilliant food and very friendly staff, must go if you’re in London! I went with my Persian friend and he said that it’s among the best food he has ever had

We enjoyed our dinner meal at Mohsen. The food was so delicious and tasty. We shared our meal including fresh nann bread with hummus. The lentil soup was like having homemade food and the lamb with rice was excellent. The baklava was really good quality. If you’re looking for Mediterranean food you can’t go wrong at Mohsen!

Very delicious, the grills were tender, the rice was more luxurious than the other, the soup was thick and warming, the appetizers were delicious, and the ending was musk. The tea was with their very special mixture, and I couldn’t appreciate what I took from them 😍😍😍 All thanks to the staff, led by Ms. Ansia 🤍

I recently visited Mohsen Restaurant and had an amazing experience. The Kashk-e Bademjan was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You could tell it was made fresh with real care. The koobideh with saffron rice was just as impressive; the meat was juicy and well-seasoned, and you could really taste the saffron in the rice, giving it that authentic Persian flavor that’s hard to find. The service was also fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for true, high-quality Persian cuisine!

Best Iranian restaurant in London, great service, good food, I will definitely come back again.

Been having Iranian/Persian food in London for some 20 year with the likes of Alounak, Hafez, and Galleria (the latter sadly closed now). All fantastic places and recognised staples in the local community. However, this year I was kindly introduced to Mohsen which I am surprised that I have never known for all these years. Such an understated place and located on a main road I have driven past so much. The restaurant is run by a welcoming gentleman named Hesam who has served me a few times now but I wouldn’t have guessed he owned the place. The same goes for his lovely wife who also has served me. Like I said understated. Onto the food, I have 3 recommendations I make time to go back for more. 1. The Koobideh (aka lamb mince Kofta) so juicy and when wrapped up in their freshly baked oven bread is something you want to return to. 2. The Joujou (aka boneless chicken chunks) are so tender and juicy, I can claim to have not had better. 3. The Chenjah (aka lamb filet chunks) this is my ultimate choice and never had before in an Iranian/Persian restaurant in London. They are chunky little lamb steaks, plump and delicious. Request it to be served juicy and when you cut in half, the red centre says it all, and surprisingly tender. One of those restaurants I will be returning again!

This restaurant is so great. This is the second time we went and we'll surely stop by again, as the food, the atmosphere and the very excellent service and friendliness of the people working here makes it a great, cozy experience.

Sus recomendaciones de comida fueron increíbles! Mi esposo describió el cordero como 'el mejor que había probado' y como chef, no se impresiona fácilmente. El ambiente y la decoración era cálido y atractivo. Nos encantó el restaurante tanto que decidimos comer aquí por dos noches consecutivas. Por favor, vaya, no se decepcionará.

Our family has been lucky to discover Mohsen 20 years when we lived close by until 10 years ago. We loved it - it was our weekly treat (sometimes even bi-weekly) and we still go out of our way to either eat at the restaurant or simply collect food to have it at home. Mohsen's food is incredibly fresh. The chicken is so tender, The lamg keftas are delicious, the humous is the best we ever tasted in London. In 20 years of being very loyal customers we have not been disappointed once. The quality of food and falvours are all outstanding. Mohsen is a hidden gem: it is a family-run restaurant and the owners are extremely warm and welcoming. The restaurant is cozy and super clean. Mohsen is literally a treasure hidden at the border of kensington and worth making a detour for.

The best Persian food in London, amazing service!

Fuimos a este restaurante después de ver la buena crítica anterior como un negocio familiar de larga data y pensamos que sería realmente uno especial. El restaurante tiene un espacio limitado con solo unas pocas mesas. La decoración era promedio. . La comida no estaba recién preparada y nos dimos cuenta de inmediato. Probé la sopa de cenizas que es la sopa tradicional persa, la consistencia y el sabor estaba lejos de ser auténtico. Los otros platos que pedimos no eran auténticos ni sabrosos. Nos quedamos muy sorprendidos cuando nos pasaron la factura ya que los precios no coincidían con la calidad o las cantidades de alimentos. Su comida era muy desagradable para nuestro sistema digestivo, difícil de digerir. Desafortunadamente nos quedamos muy decepcionados, aunque el personal era agradable y tratando de ser servicial, pero no podemos recomendar este lugar. .

Mohsen is not only the best Persian restaurant in the whole of London, but the best restaurant of any cuisine in the whole of London! Mohsen has an amazing selection of the best Persian dishes that you can imagine and the bread is freshly cooked at the front of the restaurant meaning you're greeted by the delicious scent of freshly baked bread on arrival. The team in the restaurant are also the friendliest and will suggest the best dishes to try if you're not sure!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! The food was unpalatable. More worst the staff are very RUDE. They treat you as customer extremely badly. The staff especially the old guy is very very rude. He makes you feel like your eating for free and you are not paying them. I ordered koobideh with rice. The koobideh was uncooked and smelled badly. The rice was horrible. They charged £5 for zereshk which I did NOT ask for at all. The food is way too expensive. I tried many top Iranian restaurants before, non of them was as expensive as this restaurant. Warning: FYI, they will charge you for the saffron that is on top of rice (exactly £5) even when you don’t ask for. I never seen an Iranian restaurant do that. The price in comparison with portion of food was way too expensive compared to other Iranian restaurants. I do NOT recommend this Mohsen restaurant to anyone. STAY AWAY. I will never go there again. Bottom line, NEVER AGAIN!

Charged £5 for a bottle of water when we asked for tap - and didnt let us take off service charge to compensate- food was also substandard persian food, koobideh was ok, joojeh was categorically mid. Small portions. Do not recommend, there is a much better place not too far from it (5 min walk) called chef javad.

Service was out of this world. They went over and beyond to accommodate my coeliac disease and GF needs. All 6 of us enjoyed the food thoroughly and are so thankful for a safe and enjoyable dinner experience.

Long time customer and food quality has always remained great. But we come to the pricing which has probably priced me out now. £23.75 for a Momtaz + 12.5% service charge bringing it to almost £27 for just 1 main only. No drinks, sides or bread. Portion has slightly reduced too. Going to Mayfair itself, the same Momtaz dish is less. Also no tap water allowed.

Ojalá lo hubiéramos descubierto antes - qué maravillosa gestión familiar. Chef nos habló a través del menú y nos hizo recomendaciones como nunca habíamos comido comida persa antes. La comida era increíble. Todo cocinado fresco y sabroso. Tal variedad de sabores. Ahora volveremos cada año que esté garantizado. Muy recomendable.

Hands down, the best Persian food in Kensington! We ordered koobideh and joojeh. Utterly scrumptious! Meat was well-marinated and succulent. Naan bread was freshly baked right in front of us. We also ordered some dips: Mirza ghassemi and Hummus. Everything was out of this world! At the end, they even offered us a complimentary tea. FOOD POISONING. Came here for dinner last night, ordered the mix grill and sabdzi- two of us had food poisoning with one person throwing up all night. Not to mention how expensive. It’s also illegal to refuse tap water in a resturaunt.

Food poisoning: Mirza Ghasemi microwaved, raw pounded and dry lamb kebab. All three of us were poisoned. The Mirzaghassemi was microwaved. The koobideh was undercooked and we got food poisoning. We called and asked for a refund and the manager was so rude in her response and didn't offer us a refund after ruining 3 people's night and following day. Never going back!

My rating for it is weak, as the place and reception were not good The food is good, and when asked about the meat if it is halal, he said it is halal, but with uncomfortable hesitation!

This is my favourite Persian food in london and that’s not easy to say as london has incredible Persian restaurants. The food is authentic, good quality produce with a home cooked taste. The grilled meats are the best I can find and the rice is perfect. The koresh is always fresh and to die for whether you order the ghormeh sabzi or the ghymeh. No skimping on the use of saffron, the dishes are full of flavour. The hardest part is always trying to decide if to eat kebob or koresh (the stews)! The service is always friendly and make you feel at home. Love the place, the food and the people!
